Limbaugh now wants Obama to be the Democratic nominee.

(CNN) – He has publicly urged Republicans to vote for Hillary Clinton to keep the divisive Democratic nomination fight alive, but talk radio host Rush Limbaugh said Wednesday it's Barack Obama who he really wants to be the party's nominee.

"I now believe he would be the weakest of the Democrat nominees," Limbaugh, among the most powerful voices in conservative radio, said on his program. "I now urge the Democrat supereldegates to make your mind up and publicly go for Obama."

"Barack Obama has shown he cannot get the votes Democrats need to win – blue-collar, working class people," Limbaugh also said. "He can get effete snobs, he can get wealthy academics, he can get the young, and he can get the black vote, but Democrats do not win with that."

For months, Limbaugh has urged his listeners in states with open primaries to cross party lines and support Clinton in an effort he has dubbed "Operation Chaos." The conservative talk show host has said the Republican Party will benefit from a protracted Democratic race that grows more bruising by the week.

In giving this drug-addled, irrelevant blowhard any more publicity compromises the legitimacy of CNN. Other than his moron minions (Dodoheads), no one else with a barely functioning brainstem listens to Limpdough's blather.

Olivia   May 7th, 2008 4:50 pm ET

The hardcore activists in the democratic party decided from the beginning they would support Obama. Then, they tried to undermine the Clinton campaign by calling for her withdrawal from the race, which was partly successful as it confused many of her supporters as to what was happening. That slowed the money flow.
Many have now seen evidence of the strength and total commitment of Hillary Clinton. She's a good one, probably the best woman candidate the democratic party will see for a long time.
Rush Limbaugh saw it too!!!!!!!

I hate the way this self inflated jerk has abused our electoral process for his partisan trickery, yet if it were done against Republicans, he'd have a fit. We should all ignore him. He's only relevant if the media puts him in the news, which is what he wants. Pathetic.

Limbaugh is right thought– Obama is weak. Obama can't even control Chicago– how is he suppossed to run a country. There is no substance to his speeches– they are empty word that only provide hope, but yet he has given no specifics on what he would specifically change. He wants to make healthcare more affordable, well so what? How will he do it? Give ups ome specifics Obama. We know where Clinton stands. Obama will not win the election– he can't even stand up to Clinton. If people were smart, everyone would vote for Clinton, she has more balls than any man I've ever seen.

Just wait, when it's clear McCain doesn't have a prayer against Obama in the general, suddenly Rush will declare that his support for Obama was responsible for his winning the presidency, but it's all been an elaborate trick so that Mitt Romney can run in 2012!

What a joke. The only "Limbaugh Effect" that's really happening is the stunningly high number of people who are turning off their radios when he comes on now. It's a shame most of his listeners probably can't even spell the word "irrelevant", but that's exactly what Rush Pillpopper is.

If not, why are we even talking about him?

Pedro M   May 7th, 2008 4:48 pm ET

If one thinks that Rush always wanted Obama to win, this makes sense. If this were the case, the only reason for him to ask for republicans to vote for Hillary was to drive the democrat party to where it is now, practically divided in half (This is taking into account that during the first primaries, Obama was the only other possibility for the primary) Now that this has been accomplished, he is stating his support for Obama, who he says is the weakest candidate.

It seems as if Rush actually never wanted Hillary to be the democratic nominee. If no one else had been competition for Hillary during the first primaries, asking republicans to vote for her would have only brought her closer to becoming the nominee.

Also, I am sure that his "support" for Hillary has driven some voters on the fence to vote for Obama since they do not want the next president to have anything resembling a republican. This would only not hurt Hillary but also help Obama…two kills with one shot.

Democrats should focus on uniting the party now. Whether it is Hillary or Obama, we should all stop wanting 'our' candidate to win and start focusing on which one, Hillary or Obama, will be able to beat the obvious republican nominee. Also, as democrats, we still have the green party to worry about.

monica   May 7th, 2008 4:48 pm ET

Funny how Limbaugh acts like the authority on matters, then changes his mind himself! Whatever, Rush. We're winning and McCain doesn't stand a chance. Deal with it.

Nausea, to answer to your question is Democrats are not giving Sen. Obama this election. He actually won it. It matters not what the polls say, the man won. As for as blue collar white workers, that a bunch of bull. What the media want people superdelegates to believe is that some white people will not vote for a black man. Well, maybe those white people will enjoy seeing our troops killed in a war that Sen. McCain plans to carry on. What people should ask themselves is this,"When its all said and done, do I perfer seeing Sen. Obama as president or bodies shipped back to the US?" Would I rather struggle under the Bush administration for the next 4 years or would it hurt me that much to see a black president.

This is year 2008 for get about color and let's move forward.

Bill, Florida   May 7th, 2008 4:47 pm ET

…And thats what we've been saying all along. Now its official that the Republicans WANT Barack Obama as the Democratic nominee, because he's easier to beat in November. Hopefully the super delegates will look at this before making their decision.

Mark   May 7th, 2008 4:47 pm ET

I seriously doubt Hillary supporters would cross over, and I seriously doubt Obama supporters would cross over either..

Real supporters of the democrat party will always be democrats…We can ill afford to have McSame in the office in 2009. We can't go thru a third Bush term… and soon the republicans will realize that the democrats are gunning for them with a vengence, and all the vetting Hillary helped Obama do over the past few months will make him an even better president, and HIllary will help bring the party back together to support her counterpart in Barack.

We are strong, we are together in this, and we will not fail.

DEMOCRAT 08′!!!!

Rush ties half his brain behind his back just to make it obvious. If anyone had any doubts about his influence on the mind-numbing robots that make up his ditto-head flock, his minor influence on the primary election outcomes should be proof enough.

Nordean   May 7th, 2008 4:47 pm ET

Well, The republicans are getting scared now, so a little reversed psychology was expected, Obama had gone trough a lot of critisism lately but mostly for things he hasn't done, and he proved to be tougher than he was given credit for, especially that he has done it with such a grace. Limbaugh is a recovering drug addict, who knows if he's high or not. Obama will be our next President, let's back him up and reclaim the pride in America we once had, Economies work on speculations, if the get a strong positive signal from Washington, the tables will turn around and everything else will improve, and also a very important point, a lot of our alleged enemies will back down, because the trait of a lunatic war mungerer president, becomes a less likely thing with Obama, who loves peace to reign the world not fear. WV and KY help yourself by helping Obama

Aaron   May 7th, 2008 4:47 pm ET

Its hypocritical scum like limbaugh that divide the country. If this big mouth was a real patriot he would not support chaos in either party. How is chaos good for america? Its not. Rush is just trying to cover his own traitorous butt now. It's clear that despite his corrupt efforts, even he can't keep Hillary's campaign alive. Now Rush is just siding with the already obvious – Obama will be the Democratic nominee. Rush may think that he helped the Republicans with his slimy stunts, but he only managed to show everyone that the Republicans have no intention of honoring the integrity of our voting process. Our ability to vote for our leaders was earned by the blood of American citizens, yet the Republicans treat it as a joke. Rush and his ilk disgust any true American who actually cares about this country and our future. Obama has more integrity in his little finger than Rush Limbaugh and his idiotic supporters have in their combined total.

unbelievable. Christine V from Dallas, TX may I please ask you to drop that 40 lb bag of bricks you feel like you need to carry around.

Here's the deal. Either you support Hillary Clinton for her issues that she fights for or because she can be the first woman candidate. If its the issues that please, for the love of God, realize the difference between these two are minimal and support the democratic nominee. I'm a Democrat. I supported HIllary Clinton for a long time. It has now become apparant her run has ended and we need to unite. It is people like you who will carry the pettiness all the way to November.

The world will be a much better place if we can put our differences aside and come together. John McCain represents a very scary scenario if he's in office. His policies will bankrupt our future, my children can not afford that.

Please Clinton Supporters, let's unite again and be Democrats. United we stand, divided we fall…

mel   May 7th, 2008 4:46 pm ET

I'm more concerned with the Hillary supporters who said they wouldn't vote for Obama should he win the nomination. These same voters say Obama isn't able to beat Republicans in the General. They say they have had enough of our countries current condition, however they throw support to republicans. ? I thought the goal was to have a democratic president when January rolls around. I understand that Obama supporters have said the same however the numbers are overwhelming. 70% of Obama supporters say they would vote for Hillary. Only 56% of Hillary supporters say they will vote for Obama. A hefty portion of the remaining 44% say they will vote for McCain. ? There has to be some underlying reason why they party could be split this way. I understand the candidates lashing at each other has a lot to do with it, however I feel that issues or racism and prejudice are more prevalent in this country than we like to admit.

Blue Collar white guy for Obama. (Only because are economy sucks, and I can't relate to Hillary and her millions. I have to work overtime to support my kids, buy food, and gas, and she can go to her bank account for 11mil toward an election that she has technically lost.)

Wayne, Greenville TX   May 7th, 2008 4:46 pm ET

Anita from Arizona   May 7th, 2008 4:46 pm ET

If you proclaim yourself a Democrat and your going to choose the Republican in November just because your candidate is not the Democratic nominee just shows you are not ready to vote. Why don't you try to base this important decision on which candidate is going to help our country out of the problems we're all in. You sound like you having a temper tantrum. Don't vote at all and leave this IMPORTANT decision up to the grown ups.

chuck   May 7th, 2008 4:46 pm ET

No surprise here. The GOP has been trying to stop Clinton from day one. The spin was always that it was a "good thing" when Obama got Republican votes, but it was a bad thing when Clinton did.

Marc   May 7th, 2008 4:46 pm ET

What a moron.

Alice   May 7th, 2008 4:46 pm ET

This is reverse psychology – pure and simple.

He is "switching" his support from Clinton to Obama to play with the heads of the superdelegates, so they will think the Republicans view Obama as th weaker candidate to run against.

Don't fall for it.

Republican (voting-D)   May 7th, 2008 4:46 pm ET

Does the name "Operation Chaos" not speak for itself? Obviously, Limbaugh is trying to confuse the Democratic party. At best, it will help drag out the contest for the Democratic nominee all the way to the convention (which Hillary is obviously determined to do on her own)… at worst, it will just fuel the media with another sideshow detracting from the important election at hand.

Esther Folly   May 7th, 2008 4:46 pm ET

I am Texas Republican. I listen to Limbaugh. I am gonna go for McCain. All noted, I am a bit angered or frustrated by the entire Operation Chaos thing. I've read alot of the vitriolic slams on Limbaugh, but none seem to capture what I frustrated with. It seems very un-democratic, very un-patriotic, very very very wrong to tell folks to vote against their conscience, to meddle with the most distinguishing characteristic of democracy which allows us all to have a say through voting. I'll continue to be a Republican, continue to listen to Limbaugh and of course McCain is my guy in Nov. But the Operation Chaos should be illegal, should be unconstitutional.

Hillary Clinton's unofficial running mate, Rush Limbaugh, and the continuous spin. The media wants to elect this year's democratic candidate and it is not the same as the people's choice. Rush has provided Hillary with more than one million votes from his evil minions of crossover voters.

Rush Limbaugh has kept Hillary in the race and encouraged republicans "not to vote their conscience". Hillary has accepted these votes happily.

What I do not understand is how I became a black, latte-drinking (never even tasted Latte), college aged kid, wealthy, effete, elitist man. I have worked all my life (fast foods as a teenager than into the Navy for 21 years enlisted since I could not afford college, have busted my butt working on construction sites and at power plants since I left the Navy and this is considered Elite? just exactly how low have we dropped our standards? true I do not watch NASCAR, if I wanted to see people drive fast and make left turns I would go out on the highway an hour after rush hour. It is also true I do not watch wrestling, I just have never seen much entertainment in watching people hurt each other. But I guess that, because I support the one person who I think can actually change the way things are run, the one person who I feel has been MOST truthful, and the one person who I feel is most likely to actually try to make things better for this 48 year old white male I am all these things, won't my kids (who I HAVE put through college!) be surprised! I know I am!

NewJeffCT   May 7th, 2008 4:44 pm ET

So, now we can call Rush a flip-flopper? Didn't he support Obama early on in the race, then flipped to Clinton and is now flipping back to Obama?

Meanwhile, Democratic turnout and enthusiasm has been far outpacing Republic enthusiasm and thousands of new Democrats have registered to vote.

It has been the independents and Republicans voting for Obama that made him the frontrunner in the first place. I don’t think many of them will suddenly move into the McCain-Bush far right column.

McCain, however, has been lucky the media has been focused on the Obama-Clinton wars because he has made some HUGE gaffes on foreign policy that make Ford’s infamous “there is no Soviet domination of eastern Europe” gaffe look small by comparison.

tidho   May 7th, 2008 4:44 pm ET

Think maybe his locking up the nomination has something to do with him suddenly being the weaker candidate.

I love the complete lack of logic (also envoked by Hillary's campaign) that because Clinton got a voter Obama must not be able to and therefor it will automatically go to McCain. How idiotic. Caucasian blue collar Democrats might prefer Clinton when its two Dems but that doesn't mean they'd rather have a Republican. They aren't all racists.

All I know is there will not be any republican president for the coming 32 years or forever they are toast. Additionaly the Majority of the house, seanate , Governors will be help by democrats for a long time to come. Please give Limbaugh more drugs he needs to chill out.

Mark McCuistion   May 7th, 2008 4:44 pm ET

Does anyone care what Rush thinks? What possible reason do we have to listen to anything this man has to say?

Chris, WI   May 7th, 2008 4:44 pm ET

You know what this tells me? It tells me Rush is SCARED of Obama just like all of the other neo-conservative Republicans I know in my personal life. They're scared of the big bad liberal and all his evil plans.

Obama has plans for a BIG government. He's going to tell you where to buy a house, where to work, who you can marry and mandate that you take a dump at 3 o'clock every afternoon or he's taking it out of your paycheck. Scary stuff! Look out!

Mary, North Carolina   May 7th, 2008 4:44 pm ET

He has really gone off of his meds!!!

Good Luck!

Obama is fake and you followers should go out and see the GOV. of MA. and watch footage on YOUTUBE of what he said to win GOV> sounds the exact same of Obama. I am sorry but if he cannot be Unique and bring his own ideas then he cannot lead this country.

Justice   May 7th, 2008 4:44 pm ET

What a biggot

Jodie   May 7th, 2008 4:44 pm ET

Rush, no one cares what you think. You do not even like McCain so what do you care?

Foreign observer   May 7th, 2008 4:44 pm ET

Stupid and very elitist arguements he is making. He´s a nobody willing to become somebody in doing distraction……

Really?   May 7th, 2008 4:44 pm ET

Rush: You REALLY wanted McCain to lose, and he won. You REALLY wanted Hilary to win, and she lost. Please, come out strong against Obama. Your influence is very, very helpful!!

Matt in PA   May 7th, 2008 4:44 pm ET

Oh my God! What right minded person still considers Rush Limbaugh to be a voice of reason or wisdom? He's a joke. He's a pill popping, hypocritical, manipulative blob who sits on the radio spewing venom about everyone who isn't a republican. He's nothing more than a blowhard who likes the sound of his own voice. Why is CNN even covering what this moron has to say? For shame.

David   May 7th, 2008 4:44 pm ET

Somebody get a doctor please rush needs his drugs. What you are is a fake patriot, because your actions undermines ones the principles that makes this country great " democractic principles". This is one the reasons i admire Obama, wearing the flag on your lapel and putting your hand your chest does not mean you love this country, it is your actions. You intension to cause chaos and disrupt something this country holds in high regard is not patriotic indeed rush. Grow up.

Leon   May 7th, 2008 4:44 pm ET

Democrats, Liberal minded people, let's unite and defeat morons like Rush who dominate our Republican party's agenda.

Repulican's for Obama…

S.M   May 7th, 2008 4:44 pm ET

The reason why Obama is unable to get some of those votes are because there are those who are so racist, they would never vote for an African American for President, even if it mean't they would be better off overall. They would rather have the likes of George Bush who is stupid and can barely talk in a complete sentence. Let's see if their racism will come to their rescue when it really gets rough.

1moreforobama   May 7th, 2008 4:44 pm ET

someone get some roundup !!!!!!

Ohio For Obama   May 7th, 2008 4:43 pm ET

Maybe Limbaugh needs to step away from the Oxy! Clinton NEVER had to face real mud-slinging like Obama had to…Neither has McCain, for that fact!

Look how well his "operation chaos" has worked!!! :)

Say good night, Rushy! (And Clinton & McCain!)

A.K.   May 7th, 2008 4:43 pm ET

I'm so glad a political shock-jock's slimeball rhetoric is publicized as news.

mike   May 7th, 2008 4:43 pm ET

Since when did the Dems need that "dope-head" to give them advise? He should just stick to those idiotic and stupid money-making blurps that he calls dialogue and leave real issues to the true Americans to sort through and make sound decisions. This "human-waste" has made all of his money off of these 14 IQ nuts that listen to his trash. Get a life and a rehab, Limbaugh.

PiperK   May 7th, 2008 4:43 pm ET

The only reason Hillary barely edged out Obama in Indiana is because of the Republicans that voted for her at Rush's request. I'll have to say that Rush's reverse psychology on trying to push the vote to Hillary by claiming Obama is the weaker candidate, is brilliant. Sneaky, but brilliant.

Tommy   May 7th, 2008 4:43 pm ET

Spreading more hate in America! That is all this guy has ever done or ever will do. Hypocrite, judging others when he should be in prison for drug abuse!

SHU from AL   May 7th, 2008 4:43 pm ET

Wow. I can't believe the media is allowing this man to essentially ask Americans to throw an election via disingenuous voting. People (of all races) in this country DIED for the right to vote. Why would anyone knowingly abuse that right?

Juan Jimenez   May 7th, 2008 4:43 pm ET

Look, if there are idiots in this country who thinks it's a good idea to behave like little sheep and fall in line behind a hypocrite drug addict, so be it. My understanding is that it's the same NASCAR "watching cars make left turns all day long is a sport" crowd who believe that since Bush got to the White House and ruined the country, they too could do the same someday. I think that giving this numbn*tz space in this blog on democrat issues is a complete waste of good bytes and bandwidth. You think maybe you could divert the effort into the issues?

Bruce Taylor, Berkeley, CA   May 7th, 2008 4:43 pm ET

Limbaugh is what he is : the reason the Democratic Party needs to coalesce behind its ideals and vision and defeat John McCain.
Whether you support Senator Obama or Senator Clinton, the writing on the wall can be made no clearer.

Woman for Obama in OKC   May 7th, 2008 4:43 pm ET

Christine V from Dallas, TX if what you are saying is true then Hilary supporters are not true democrats. A true Democrat is willing to put personal dislikes aside and vote for the better of the contry. We support the nominee because we all have a common htread and we want to see that thread woven into the fabric of this country. if you would like an example of how we stick together you need to take a look at how we reacted and stood by Bill when he was impeached.

Rush what a crock of Bull! You are as big a lier as Bush. You need to pray that God does not make you hurt yourself. All the good that you do is doubled and comes from God and all the bad you do is by your own hand. That statement is not just for you but people that are following you in your wrongdoing.

Rush supports Hillary – Terrible conspiracy probably Hillary's fault
Rush supports Obama – non-issue

Obama hypocrites.

Jeff   May 7th, 2008 4:42 pm ET

He is trying to extend the drama within the democratic party. The goal is for Hillary to say "see look, I am stronger" and for her to bring that message to the superdelegates, extending the debate within the party.

If you ask me, pretty smart. Dirty and underhanded, but smart if you want to win in November.

So Obvious   May 7th, 2008 4:42 pm ET

The Democratic Party bosses want the race to be OVER. Rush Limbaugh knows this; his Operation Chaos is not targeted in favor of Hillary over Obama or visa versa, there would still be an Operation Chaos (directing people to cross over and vote for Obama) even if Hillary had a slight delegate lead over Obama. Operation Chaos is designed to FORCE the situation where the Democratic nominee has to be selected by the elite superdelegates. What better way to illustrate that the Democratic Party is a party of elitists than to have them illustrate it themselves! Rush has for years preached that the Democrats are elitists who don't trust average Americans to make their own decisions, thus they promote thier brand of socialism. With Operation Chaos, that sermon will be in bold and underscore – the Democratic Party doesn't trust average Democrats to make the ultimate decision for their party.

Betty   May 7th, 2008 4:42 pm ET

After the 8 years of living with a Republican President and his cronies, it makes no difference who wins the democratic nomination. I am confident that the majority of the country has had enough. McCain will just keep things going as they are, spending more and more money on a war that was started under false pretenses, and keeping the big businesses in power. Time for the real people to use their voices and Vote for a chance at a new direction. Hillary or Obama would do a thousand times better than another Bush. How much worse can it get?

Mike Jones   May 7th, 2008 4:42 pm ET

Too bad that Rush and his followers are the "minority".

lamac66   May 7th, 2008 4:42 pm ET

This is all a smoke screen. He realized a while ago that rational republicans were asking for Democratic ballots at the polls, so to spin it like only right wing conservatives can, he came up with this operation chaos.

Funny how he thinks Obama is the weakest candidate. He knows deep down inside he wanted Clinton to win because anybody with any sense knows that any Democrat will beat any Republican based on the economy alone.

Right-wing conservatives fear Obama. Deep down they want Clinton to win because it will be politics as usual and she will play ball with them. Obama represents a change from business as usual politics. This will hurt their pockets

The American people know that putting another Republican in the WhiteHouse is basically voting for another 4 years of Bush policies.
WATCH!

I am an Indepenant. Limbaugh does not give a hoot about what goes on in this country. The only thing he cares about is ratings. I don't lisent to him, my husband does. I just happened to be in the room while his show was on today ( May 7th). He mentioned that Obama was henpecked by his wife, Michelle. Now, how does he know what goes on in Obama's house and why would he care. Furthermore, what does that have to do with what is going on with our country and economy. Give me a break. He doesn't care about Hillary anymore than he does about Obama. He is playing a physiological game trying to get the Democrates to vote the way he feels would be most advantage to Republicans in the fall. And giving entertainmnent and amusement to his fellow Republicans.

Photon Torpedo Dallas, TX   May 7th, 2008 4:42 pm ET

Darth Vadik, CA   May 7th, 2008 4:42 pm ET

Yeah, Obama is a weaker candidate,

you know the one no body knew, with only about $4 million to his name (I say 4 mil only because Hillary, McCain, Romney and Giuliani have hundreds of millions), came to play and did the impossible by BEATING a well oiled political giant machine that was the Clintons.

If that is weak, then I don't know what tough is.

Keep dreaming dittoheads.

Karen   May 7th, 2008 4:42 pm ET

I can't believe that CNN has given this fool a story. McCain won't beat anyone and you know it. It's sad to say; but he'll reach senility before November. Stress brings it on even quicker. He's already denying statements that he made on camera and doing it with a straight face. (Arianna Huffington) The Republicans know that this man will not be able to deal with the stress of the presidency, but that's ok, kill the man as long as they get their puppet.

Too bad you have to get him elected first. NOT!!!!

Val   May 7th, 2008 4:42 pm ET

FloridaVoter   May 7th, 2008 4:42 pm ET

Obama '08

Dawn   May 7th, 2008 4:41 pm ET

Rush gives the republicans a bad, bad name. This is unfortunate and the republicans should tell him to shut up. I mean really, who cares what he thinks?

Nate4Obama   May 7th, 2008 4:41 pm ET

snnnffff…..i smell fear.

Rush is used to people thinking he is all-knowing, so by saying this, he is trying to plant the seed of doubt in voters minds. It is the last ditch attempt make democrat's question if they are making the right decision. Elaborate mind games by the republican's Head Cheerleader.

Terry, Dallas Texas   May 7th, 2008 4:41 pm ET

He wants HER to be the nominee. The idea at first was to get her nominated through the primaries by getting Republicans to vote for her. That fell apart. So now that its almost certain she can't win without a whole LOT of supers he starts saying "no..no I want Obama because he can't win the election" in hopes that it will influnce them to see Clinton as more electable than Obama. The fat windbag thinks that everyone is as simple minded as he is.

Fair-minded   May 7th, 2008 4:41 pm ET

CNN, you should be ashamed for descending as low as to give attention to this nonsense. It lowers your already tarnished reputation

JoAnn in Iowa   May 7th, 2008 4:41 pm ET

If I had any respect at all for Rush, I'd care what he said. I don't.

Jeff C   May 7th, 2008 4:41 pm ET

I don't follow Rush. I'm an independent. All I know is he built a reputation and lucrative career on trying to be controversial. I also know he was a drug addict. Seems to me, if, sort of like Howard Stern, you make a living being controversial, or lets at least say, 'highly opinionated' then if you were a Republican and you got the sense that Democrats were going to start rally around a nominee, what more controversial than to actually also back the same nominee, but in the context that it is best for the Republicans! And he got the media coverage just like he wanted by doing it. Pathetic.

Amy, Kazoo   May 7th, 2008 4:41 pm ET

And I'd like a mute Rush, but we all don't get what we want.

Trekkie   May 7th, 2008 4:41 pm ET

I am a life-long Democrat, and I am seriously considering switching parties after this pitiful fiasco between Obama and Hillary Clinton. Rush was absolutely right about the demographic splits, and it seems that democrats never learn.

If Democrats lose the election in November, they have no one to blame but themselves.

gobo   May 7th, 2008 4:41 pm ET

Dear CNN,

Your have made a disservice to the public good by spreading the nonsense of this guy.
I do not think what he said deserve your platform.

NLC frm New York   May 7th, 2008 4:41 pm ET

I applaud Limbaugh, he is the only one that has real sense of this. Get with Obama supporters, he will not win the general election against McCain unless we put the dream ticket together.

Barbara GA   May 7th, 2008 4:41 pm ET

I have a question for Rush Limbaugh. Why are you downgrading these blue collar people? The majority of these people are working hard to make their kids life better than theirs. They struggle to pay tuition at major colleges in hopes that their kids can one day make 6 figures or a decent pay are the product of these blue collar workers kids label snobs or elites. Both Obama and Hillary came from these types of backgrounds. You must be a lonely and miserable person. I work with both Blacks and Whites and we are all struggling to buy food , pay for gas and now job lost for many of us. The last time I checked RESSISION had no color. It's people like you that cause division. No one wants negative statements I was told as a child if you don't some nice to say don't nothing at all!

Even Rush can't make up his mind. LOL.

Bitter Tommy Hussein in St. Louis   May 7th, 2008 4:41 pm ET

I used to like Rush Limbaugh a lot. But now I consider him to be a person without credibility. He has married and divorced three times, and lectures the rest of us about family values. He said on the radio yesterday, "The problem with America isn't discourse. The problem with America is liberalism." So, in this democracy that is supposed to be a shining example for the rest of the world, we are supposed to target an entire school of thought as the "problem." In short, he is an idiot.

Shane   May 7th, 2008 4:41 pm ET

This guy is not revelant. He is a prescription drug fiend. What a low life. The people that listen to his show are conseravtive out of touch morons. He probably does cocaine and then preaches his conservative nonsense. He is no better than all the conservative nut jobs.

JMT   May 7th, 2008 4:40 pm ET

No one is buying into Rush's reverse psychology. We all know that he had a meeting with Bill Clinton. If he can get the superdelegates to believe that Sen Obama is the weaker candidate they will side with Sen Clinton. Rush, you are not that smart!!!!

Josef Sleekz   May 7th, 2008 4:40 pm ET

What a pig farmer this sow is squealing now. Rush preys on ignorant, non-thinking voters to fill his money trough–slurp, slurp, slob. He and Oriely should be in the same pen.

Tony   May 7th, 2008 4:40 pm ET

I still don't get why Hillary-supporters claim they will cross party lines in November if their savior doesn't get the nomination. Is this just so you'll feel better about yourselves, or because you're racist and refuse to accept a black man in the White House? Obama and Hillary have ridiculously similar views on seemingly every major issue, yet Hillary supperers are so stubborn that they're more than happy to vote for the white man that opposes all of Hillary's beliefs.

If a screwjob is, in fact, in place, then I'll be happy to vote for Hillary. She's a liar and a cheat, not to mention a sore loser, but she's exponentially better than McCain. I just wish her dwindling list of supporters will realize the same when Obama gets his name on the ballot in six months.

john   May 7th, 2008 4:40 pm ET

If Hillary is not on the November ballot, then I will vote McCain.

Philli   May 7th, 2008 4:40 pm ET

Yeah Rush, if at first you don't succeed, change your tune.

Of course, the mere fact that one side has stooped to this kind of scheme should tell us something about that party (I'll give you a hint: it starts with R).

So the big question: is Rush back on the vicodin?

Roger Knapp   May 7th, 2008 4:40 pm ET

Rush Limberger, a true American conservative.
Let's see; He never served his country in the armed services; he has a history of drug abuse and he has how many wives? He obviously has a good understanding of what America needs for its next leader.

Baddog   May 7th, 2008 4:39 pm ET

Only the most idiotic of Rush's 'dittoheads' won't be able to see what is clear to everyone else. No-one listened when he was against McCain and nobody is listening to him now. By pretending to endorse the candidate who is obviously going to be the Democratic nominee he gets to continue the delusion that he actually has some kind of influence. What a pathetic tool.

Joseph   May 7th, 2008 4:39 pm ET

I am not a Rush fan but the dems are certainly giving him plenty of fat to chew on. I am an independent who voted for Al Gore in 00 and Dubya in 04. I always like to take a step back and evaluate both parties for the best candidate or lesser of 2 evils if you will. John Kerry was a very scary candidate (where do i begin) and forced me to vote for George. I was leaning towards Obama until recently. As a white male in this country it is impossible for me to consider voting for a man that brought his family to a church that spews hate for 20 years mostly directed at white people and America in general. I would expect better judgement from a potential ccommander in chief. When Michelle Obama was put on the spot by her husband to talk about the Wright situation she deferred and later that day came out with a comment that was obviously scripted. I love his charisma and charm but the lack of any substantial experience in a leadership role is troubling to say the least. I am also a firm believer in checks and balances. One party in congress and the white house does not provide this. John Mccain is a proven leader of a border state. He may be old but one thing I am not is an agist or a racist for that matter. He is the most moderate republican candidate we have ever had and probalbly will ever have. His service to our country is beyond anything most of us will ever have to bare. Lets give the experienced old man a chance. Obama is young. Let him grow politically and he will have many runs at the top job in the future.

Kelvin   May 7th, 2008 4:39 pm ET

Limbaugh why don't you go over dose on your medications. You are one person with one opinion, just like everyone else. Why does the media pay these people so much attention, their votes carry the same weight as everyone else.

Kevin   May 7th, 2008 4:39 pm ET

Of course, he's going to say that! He's playing both sides!

steve   May 7th, 2008 4:39 pm ET

LOL, why would he publicly state that he wants Obama to be the nominee, its REVERSE PSYCHOLOGY…
"Obama is the weakest link, so vote for him"… why would a republican make that public if he really wanted Obama to win, this is just a tactic to make people vote for Hillary, which the republicans really want.
It's so obvious too…

JTJ   May 7th, 2008 4:39 pm ET

Rush reminds me of the Grinch. You can tell he is unhappy with himself; so he pretends to be some kind of wise guy. He probably cries when he's alone.

Akilah   May 7th, 2008 4:39 pm ET

This makes absolutely no sense. It is obvious that Barack Obama can get the votes, as he won North Carolina and barely lost to Clinton in Indiana. Once he gains the nomination, the election is pretty much over. John McCain is, quite frankly, too ancient to run a country. It would absolutely ruin America to have another conservative president.

Terrence (Winston Salem, NC)   May 7th, 2008 4:39 pm ET

Reverse psychology?? This is such a childish tactic. Everyone knows that Obama will fare better than clinton against McCain. Reason being, Obama's been beaten throughout the primaries and the only thing they have on him is Rev Wright and Ayers which we are getting so tired of. On policy and real issues, McCain has a toothpick leg to stand on compared to Obama.

This is nothing but reverse psychology, but Clinton supporters will probably eat this up since they are gullible enough to support a stupid gas tax. Intelligence is needed, people.

OBAMA 08

Redphilly   May 7th, 2008 4:39 pm ET

He can say whatever he wants. It's America after all. By the time the summer ends and no one has been able to go anywhere on a decent vacation because of the gas prices, Americans are going to be so frustrated they are going to want to throw McCain into the river in November!.

GP Geneseo Il   May 7th, 2008 4:39 pm ET

I can't believe anyone listens to that over sized WIND BAG!!!!

Lee   May 7th, 2008 4:39 pm ET

It's really unfortunate to have someone so visible encouraging people to meddle with the political process. This is totally un-American. Those who cross party lines to merely cast a tactical vote in a primary should be ashamed of themselves. Sad to see politics degenerate to such a low level.

Caroline   May 7th, 2008 4:39 pm ET

CNN, you need to work on your headlines. That sounds… really odd at first–"Limbaugh comes out for Obama"

Chris   May 7th, 2008 4:39 pm ET

I agree with Rush Limbaugh that Obama can not win as he will need Clinton supporters including myself. I can't wait to vote for MaCain in November.

Vince   May 7th, 2008 4:39 pm ET

Operation Chaos was a disaster and did not phase Obama which proves he is indeed the STRONGER candidate… Oh and reverse psychology much Rush? PEOPLE SAY NO TO DRUGS!!!!

to Church Lady   May 7th, 2008 4:39 pm ET

Actually, the evangelicals I know (and listen to on the radio) do not support Mr. Limbaugh when he comes up with nonsense. Most most individuals I know can THINK FOR THEMSELVES. That's what is so amusing about all of this – we really can (and will) decide for ourselves come November. I don't care what Rush or any so-called 'pundit' tells me to do. I will vote my conscience. I hope the rest of the country does the same.

PS – Y'all may not agree, but right now my conscience says that I cannot vote for a socialist – which is what Obama and Clinton really are…

Pernevlyn Coggins   May 7th, 2008 4:38 pm ET

Rush is a sad little man.

Charlotte   May 7th, 2008 4:38 pm ET

I can't stop laughing at the term "wealthy academics." Doesn't anyone know that most academics come out of school with over $100,000 in school loans, looking at around $40,000 a year? Wealthy? No, Rush, that's you.

Deb, Iowa   May 7th, 2008 4:38 pm ET

Oh please! He just urged listeners to vote for Hillary yesterday when Obama was already ahead in the delegate count. He didn't even need to say anything at all and Obama would have gotten more of the primary vote.

BrnEyes999   May 7th, 2008 4:38 pm ET

Whether Obama supporters believe it or not, Rush is NOT trying "reverse psychology" — he is now endorsing Obama because he knows Obama CAN'T win in Nov. — and anyone who thinks Obama can beat McCain is completely naive. Obama has the support of college students, African Americans and the "elite"…and GUESS WHAT? That support is NO WHERE NEAR ENOUGH for him to win the general election. On top of the, the republicans are going to remind the American public what dirty politics REALLY look like — they will make Clinton's so-called "attacks" on Obama look like child's play. And when it's all over, Obama's lack of experience, questionable relationships (Rev. Wright, Rezco, etc.), and his Muslim name (which I don't have a problem with, but many other Americans do) will hand over the presidency to McCain. Thanks a lot Obama supporters — you BLEW it for America!!!!!! Now we'll have to put up with 4 more years of conservative, war-mongering leadership!!! Clinton in 2012!!!!!!

Democrat '08   May 7th, 2008 4:38 pm ET

Any Democrat, whether you support Sen. Clinton or Sen. Obama, would be impulsive, ignorant, and stubborn to see this comment as anything more than the next phase of "Operation Chaos". Yet and still, I have a feeling many Clinton supporters will immediately turn to the Obama supporters and scream "I told you so!" , ultimately dividing the Democrat party that much further apart. And as the Clinton supporters bash Obama's on the issue of electability, and vice versa, Rush Limbaugh and everyone who supports McCain will just sit back and laugh at how unbelievably simple and easy it is to manipulate the Democratic Party (shaking head). Sad…

Rush Limbaugh does not have the pull people think. Obama is not as weak as Rush think either.

Ricky Marlin, New Orleans, LA   May 7th, 2008 4:38 pm ET

Is Rush Limbaugh still alive? I thought he overdosed on synthetic morphine after his third marriage ended.

JimCrowbegotsWright   May 7th, 2008 4:38 pm ET

Nah, leave the man alone.

I wish that his comments and others like him (Anne Coulter for example) were made more public.
The more they run their mouths, the more mainstream America moves to the left.

So, please CNN, more Rush L., Glenn Beck and Anne Coulter…

They wil be McCain's albotross….

M J   May 7th, 2008 4:38 pm ET

Let's see. He want Obama to win because he is weak, and asking people to vote for Hillary. What in the HELL does that mean? It does not make since. So if Rush is for the Republican Party and he is endorsing McCain should McCain and the Republican Party denounce Rush…. He is one idiot. I think they should denounce him…

Enough   May 7th, 2008 4:38 pm ET

Who cares what this moron and his brain dead minions want? He has a real overinflated sense of self-importance. Why do you even give him any publicity time – he's been a major contributor to the dumbing down of America and certainly doesn't deserve any attention.

Jennifer   May 7th, 2008 4:38 pm ET

This man is the epitome of all that is wrong with the Republican Right. He's arrogant, belligerent, condescending, hate baiting, and frankly, with tactics like this, unpatriotic. It's an insult to thinking people everywhere.

It's also a case of 'methinks he doth protest too much'. He's obviously scared of facing an Obama candidacy in the fall, or he wouldn't be working so hard to avoid it.

SANdra willemsen   May 7th, 2008 4:37 pm ET

Why does anyone in their right mind give people like Rush Limbaugh any mention at all?

Jack Jodell, Minneapolis, MN   May 7th, 2008 4:37 pm ET

Limbaugh is the same kind of jerk Karl Rove and Bill O'Reilly are: An egomaniac who distorts the truth to serve his own sinister purposes; a vain person who is addicted to having his name in the headlines; and an outspoken public figure who has little real concern for blue collar workers or anybody else besides himself. Yes, as an American, he has the right to voice his opinions. But as an irresponsible, self-serving troublemaker, anything he says should be ignored by everybody. Always.

R. Ward   May 7th, 2008 4:37 pm ET

I doesn't matter who Rush Limbaugh wants to win. No one in their right frame of mind will take his advice anyway. Those of us who are supporting Obama will do so because we know he is the best candidate.

Rush Limbaugh, do us all a favor and go AWAY!

John D Infidel   May 7th, 2008 4:37 pm ET

Rush has proven himself more influential than the mainstream media wishes to admit!

Limbaugh is a loser. Who keeps paying this guy to talk?

Richard   May 7th, 2008 4:37 pm ET

Casy,

If Rush's objective was to face obama, then why was his "operation chaos" all about voting for hillary?

Think about it, this doesn't require much intelligence. Obviously, he and the other neocons are so scared of obama that they were hoping for a hillary upset. Now that that is not possible, he is changing his strategy.

If Rush, or any mainstream neocon for that matter, says they want to face obama, believe me, that they do not.

girrlgil, sanfrancisco   May 7th, 2008 4:36 pm ET

Rush is such a "comedian lunatic". Who is seeking his advise. Rush needs to shut is wide mouth and focus on himself.

Ken   May 7th, 2008 4:36 pm ET

There is something unbecoming about Rush's comments, not that he would care. To say he supports Obama because he is more likely to lose is a clever way to get publicity, which CNN has given him. However, it is a misuse of the public airways entrusted to his network. In essence, he is asking people to subvert the political process by supporting a person whose election he opposes. This is not illegal since we have a First Amendment, but it takes his radio commentary to a new low.

mel   May 7th, 2008 4:36 pm ET

This has that funny Clinton smell all over it. I think it's a ploy to gain support for Hillary in the DNC. She can't win the election so maybe she can trick her way in. I can hear it now, "The republican's want him to win he's the weekest candidate." She even has republican backing, sounds like those other Republicans. Remember the Florida ballots?

Darth Vadik, CA   May 7th, 2008 4:36 pm ET

Ivey League   May 7th, 2008 4:36 pm ET

Rush LIMPBaugh proves that the Republicans are still the Grand OLD Party…first and foremost. Experience… you didn't care about experience when it was George Bush. By the way, Sen Obama was in actual politics before Hilliary… four whole years (1996 in IL State Senate).

OLD Politics vs. NEW Vision is on trial this November '08. If you vote for McCain. Don't whine about gas prices, don't belly ache over foreclosure, don't cry over failures in the stock market, and certainly, don't blame Washington or the Government…

Clear enough.

John   May 7th, 2008 4:36 pm ET

Republicans always have to resort to tactics like this because they realize that their ideals are so terribly wrong and out of touch, that they can never win another election under conventional means. If Democrats would have been terrified about losing every election from here on out, we would have influenced republican primaries by voting for people that don't believe in science, like Mike Huckabee.

Winkzilla, Tucson   May 7th, 2008 4:36 pm ET

Does anyone really care who this drugged-up blowhard wants the republicans to face? The republicans started to loose when they elected Bush for a second term. America has been fead down the garden path long enough. Fortunately the republicans and their friends were not able to totally loot the treasury. They carried off what they could however and left us the tab.

Mike   May 7th, 2008 4:35 pm ET

So Obama can only get the effete snobs, academics, blacks, and the young to vote for him, huh? Fine. I guess that leaves Latinos and stupid white people to support McCain. Why should the Republicans mess with this formula — it's worked before for them! And after all, that's Rush's core constituency as well. (Wasn't it Dean Acheson who once stated that not all Republicans are stupid, but all stupid people vote Republican? Ha Ha.) I think Obama supporters will take their chances in 2008, though.

Hillary Supporter   May 7th, 2008 4:35 pm ET

This theory makes me sick to my stomach! People died for the right to vote and here is someone who is literally making a mockery out of something as sacred as voting. Republicans are so disingenuous when they talk about patriotism and values. This is why they cannot take the White House for another 4 years! Please fellow Democrats lets unify win the White House in November!

C from the D   May 7th, 2008 4:35 pm ET

Seriously this cannot be news… His flip flop really doesn't help anyone. The people he influences already struggle with rudimentary tasks so telling them to vote for Hillary and then Obama may overload their few remaining brain cells.

Liberal?   May 7th, 2008 4:34 pm ET

So interesting…Liberals attacking rush personally…fat, druggy etc. Liberals are tolerant of everything that doesn't matter…what's outside someones inner being. They need to be tolerant of others' thoughts.

Isn't in interesting that democrats are voting primarily based on skin color and gender. I don't know any conservatives that use such meaningless categories to choose a person. Instead, conservatives look at the content of one's character. Would Martin Luther King Jr be disgusted by today's modern democratic party…one that votes on superficial issues instead of content of character.

Bukky   May 7th, 2008 4:34 pm ET

Illinois voter   May 7th, 2008 4:34 pm ET

With more than 90% of the black vote, Obama has no more upside. If Hillary is the nominee, she will gain substanstially from the black vote in November. It's not like blacks will switch to McCain or boycott in any significant numbers.

Moreover, exit polls in the last several primaries indicate that a greater percentage of Hillary supporters will vote McCain over Obama, compared to vice versa. This is a double whammy that Obama will not likely overcome by drawing new college voters.

Hillary or McCain '08

Dori in AZ   May 7th, 2008 4:34 pm ET

You're giving this ignorant little man way too much credit.

KOR   May 7th, 2008 4:34 pm ET

Pretty funny that Obama is quoted as saying the only reason Limbaugh said to vote for Hillary was because she was the weaker candidate. But after the Indiana primaries, the Republicans they interviewed said they voted for Obama because he will lose to John McCain.

Limbaugh never supported Hillary because she was weaker. He did Operation Chaos since she was behind and he wanted to race to drag on. Pay attention, people.

Spirit of America   May 7th, 2008 4:34 pm ET

Obama's nomination guarantees a Republican victory. Clinton's nomination guarantees a Democratic victory. It's so simple even Limbaugh understands it.

Casey | Sebastopol, CA   May 7th, 2008 4:34 pm ET

Who cares who Limbaugh supports in the Democratic election? The guy is a nut case.
At least 4 super-delegates have endorsed Obama today (to Hillary's count of 1) so the verdict is in – and the super-delegates will begin a flood of support that hopefully will end this drawn-out drama.

The first words out of Hillary's mouth last night – rather than a gracious nod and vote of support for Obama, was yet more lunacy about "full speed ahead" and a request for money. It's over.

Now it is time to ignore the loud-mouth Republican political machine and the delusional antics of Hillary Clinton and get on with the business at hand… changing the way politics control the destinies of normal, hard-working Americans.

Go Obama! Congratulations on all your endorsements today and just ignore that clown behind the curtain.

James   May 7th, 2008 4:34 pm ET

My point = Limbaugh is scared!

Crom   May 7th, 2008 4:33 pm ET

RUSH must be high on pills again, we all know the whole reason he enacted Operation Chaos is to try and stop Obama from winning the nomination and continuing to disrupt the Democratic party. McCain doesn't stand a chance against Obama….that we all know as well… This childish "reverse psychology"-esque nonsense he's spewing now is so typical of him. I'm saddened so many Americans waste their time listening to this hate-mongering fool… Thank god he doesn't have the pull of Stephen Colbert or perhaps more of his croneys would have acted according to his Operation "I'm still relevant"…no one cares what you say Rush…you're a hypocrite, racist, jerkoff.

Michelle   May 7th, 2008 4:33 pm ET

How does this druggie still have a listening base? Why why should anyone care WHO he wants in office? I certainly don't.

Rushheads unite!   May 7th, 2008 4:33 pm ET

What a knobhead.

Actually, this is great. If any Democrats or superDs or crossover Republicans were to even listen to Bush Limppaw, they would only push the vote in Obama's favor. And, contrary to Limppaw's distorted views, Obama does have the judgment and principle to succeed in the general election. So, Democrats will have the last laugh.

Limppaw is like the other balding, calculating Republican weasel, Rove–he just wants to stay relevant because it satisfies his ego. Neither can appreciate the authority of personal character that Obama brings to the political table.

indep   May 7th, 2008 4:33 pm ET

Limbaugh has a serious mental problem. What on earth makes him try so hard to make himself relevant to Obama? Is he over drugged to the extent that he got a brain damage?

He may be surprised at the end of the day how many Republicans will actually defect to Obama than carrying out his operation.

TEXAN FOR THE NAKED TRUTH.   May 7th, 2008 4:33 pm ET

Way to go RUSH. You are so fouled up on dope you don't even know who to root for. BUT, YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN PULLING FOR OBAMA ALL ALONG. IT's IDIOTS LIKE YOU TWO THAT IS GOING TO BE THE DOWNFALL OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. With Obama as President it will be like jumping out of Bushes burning pot of stew right into the hot burning coals of hell!!!

Aren't they supposed to help the public? Why does any party for that matter need help by such tactics – if Republican values are strong then people vote for them.

Such gimmicks smell of a clear manipulation ( IMHO, I call the voters who fall to such maneouvers as "Dumb")

Americans have learned a lot about Obama recently and I know a WHOLE bunch of Americans that have changed there minds and wouldn't support Obama NOW at all.
Stay in the race Hillary if you don't it will be President McCain because your supporters are going to vote McCain if your not a choice. I know my whole family and friends will be voting McCain if they can't vote Hillary.

Limbaugh is the guy who used to make fun of the idea that there could possibly be such a thing as global warming. What a genius!

Lynda   May 7th, 2008 4:31 pm ET

I really think this is unfair. This guy is trying to confuse and deceive people. When he did that for Sen. Clinton and realize this did not work against Sen. Obama now he wants to reverse it. It's very dishonest.
The media should not pay him no mind!!

Obama sounds like a preacher more than presidental material, and people are nearly falling at his feet. Scary!

Jack   May 7th, 2008 4:31 pm ET

RUSH is now pushing for the Florida and Michigan Delegates to be seated and is saying the Democrats are un-democratic by not allowing those delegates to be seated at the convention.

Jade   May 7th, 2008 4:31 pm ET

Who listens to this prejudiced old man?

Frank   May 7th, 2008 4:31 pm ET

I have been a lifelong Republican, but am seriously considering voting for Obama if he wins the Democratic nomination because he represents the hope of a change in government. I am tired of the Republican tricks / negative attacks. I will never vote for Hillary as the Clinton's are part of the "negative" problem in our government. I will not vote for McCain as he is tied to the failed policies of George Bush, the worst president the country has had and who has put this country on a very bad path.

Rush Limbaugh, who represents the right wing of the Republican party thinks he can fool everyone with his "vote for the worst" rhetoric, but he is wrong. He is alienating the good people of the Republican party.

Jacqueline for Obama!   May 7th, 2008 4:31 pm ET

Limbaugh is so transparent! Anyone who possesses simple deductive reasoning skills can see what his real goal is. This is an ill-fated attempt to cast doubt on Obama's electability, but it doesn't work. His so called "operation chaos" urges republican voters to vote for Hillary Clinton, hoping that the result would somehow yield a win for her, and at the same time keep the democratic nomination going right on through to the convention. But all he's actually proven is that even with Republicans casting votes for her in Democratic primaries, she still can't pull off the win. We all know Rush wants Hillary as the Democratic nominee because he actually thinks she will be the easiest one to beat. RUSH, YOU CAN'T SLICK A CAN OF OIL!

Rush, it's time you accept the fact that you could very well have the first African American president come November, and I know that's very painful for you. GET OVER IT!

Reverse Psychology Rush?

I heard him on his show today when he was talking about the race and he actually said that he knows that they can beat Hillary Clinton, but if he can somehow get people to think that it is Obama that they want to go against, then the Supers will rush to Clinton. He also said that an endorsement from him would "screw" Obama.

He also continued to try and raise doubts to the Supers about Obama. He said that they were afraid that the black people would turn on them if they voted against Obama. But then he added "Now you know they won't. They may be mad for a while, but they will be back. You own the black people." Those are Rush's words.

He really does still want to face Hillary, but he wants the media to start making it look like it is actually Obama.

Perfect Timing Rush…
You realized the nomination is all but over, so you try to change your mind so that you can carry bragging rights that you decided the democratic nominee.

a no flagpin wearing american that thinks   May 7th, 2008 4:29 pm ET

Democracy depends on its citizens voting for the people they think will do the best job in office. Limbaugh's attempts to wreak havoc in the primaries are un-American. Perhaps Limbaugh is just trying to get look like he still carries weight — say you're for Clinton and hope she wins Indiana. Then say you're for Obama and hope he wins the nomination. I very much doubt the superdelegates are going to do anything *because* Rush said to, rather than because Obama is the clear winner.

MacFL   May 7th, 2008 4:27 pm ET

Rush is publicly stating what Hillary Clinton supporters already know.

Obama can't win – only Hillary can make it to the finish line.

Now his point is to make it appear that Obama is the weaker canidate to give Superdelegates pause so, once again…the fight goes to the convention.

So before all of you Clinton backers start the "see, he's not electable" chant, please do your homework first.

Talk about an elitist, phony, fake, drug addict…….Guy's like Limbaugh and O'Reilly are on their way out of the business. American's have figured these sort of people out. They were all for sending our young son's and daughter's into a war that should never have been. They played it over and over and over until America believed them. It amazes me how Rush plays with the intelligence of the democratic party. Why is this not illegal to do in this democracy? Thousands of republicans listen to him and vote for Hillary Clinton to cause chaos. Now that Obama is set to receive the nomination, Rush tries to cause more chaos. Yet Democrats will continue to bicker and be devisive. WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!!!!

This is your life. Rush is already rich. Why are you not angry? These people are disrespecting you and your worried about supporters and how they are nasty. Give me a break! How many people on this blog have actually met the person whom they support? How many people on this blog have sat down and had dinner with the person they support? How many people on this blog can call the person they support on the phone right this minute? You don't know these people and everything they stand for. You are taking other peoples words or letting someone small minded influence your decisions. WAKE UP!

This is your life that you are throwing around. HRC or Obama can't do this without us, united and strong. This is for your future and the future of your children.

By the way I am a republican who wants change. I am rich and I'm doing very well under the current administration, however I live in the United States of America. I am ashamed of my party and would like to live in a united and successful America where all can prosper. I have met all three candidates personally, and all three of them have issues outside of the public marketing that is shown thru the media.

Anyone who listens to this drug induced idiot, is just that an idiot. Rush, I am a white, 53 year old, female, blue collar worker and I support Obama. But then I am not a racist like you and some "democrats" who won't vote for Obama because of his color.

True Democrats unite.

Frank, Dayton, Ohio   May 7th, 2008 4:23 pm ET

Add Rush Limbaugh to the list of those who need to keep their mouth's shut.. He is second on the list to Jeremiah Wright.

Chris Gorham   May 7th, 2008 4:23 pm ET

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz how boring is this?

Zack Mac   May 7th, 2008 4:23 pm ET

This is just a game to stretch out the fight even longer.. It has no bases.. Why did not he say that two days ago? why obama was not weak a few days ago? and all the sudden he is weak now.. Just a game.. Think people.. Shame on CNN to report such a thing.

Alex   May 7th, 2008 4:23 pm ET

Wow! Nice about face. It clearly shows Rush is getting nervous about the prospects of facing Obama come November.

Thomas   May 7th, 2008 4:22 pm ET

Rush is a miserable, hyproctiical, moronic pig who is MUCH more influential in his drug-addled mind than he is in reality. He is a waste of space on this earth.

DEE, PLANO TX   May 7th, 2008 4:22 pm ET

MAKE UP YOUR MIND RUSH….

Tim   May 7th, 2008 4:22 pm ET

Hey Limbaugh, this is the pharmacy…your prescription is ready for pick up!!!

Beth   May 7th, 2008 4:22 pm ET

I think Operation Chaos is a success! The democrats have done it for years, now it's our turn!

fred   May 7th, 2008 4:22 pm ET

LOL, for once in my life I agree with Rush!!!!!

GO Hillary!!!

SP   May 7th, 2008 4:22 pm ET

Why is cnn even giving Rush coverage? It's more sensationalized story telling. Report NEWS worthy content, and stop distracting easily impressionable people with such non sense.

Steve   May 7th, 2008 4:22 pm ET

Rush, get a life!!! You are sooooo transparent.

Liz in SD   May 7th, 2008 4:22 pm ET

Rush, shmush. He needs a reality check–or maybe more prescription meds. Earth to Rush–nobody's taken you seriously in years!!!

Claire   May 7th, 2008 4:22 pm ET

*rolling eyes*

Jim Shimmer   May 7th, 2008 4:22 pm ET

Rush is an idiot. Who listens to him anyways.

OBAMA WILL BE PRESIDENT THIS YEAR. RUSH CAN GO SCREW HIMSELF. NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO, YOU HATER, HE WILL WIN!

Lonny, Seattle   May 7th, 2008 4:22 pm ET

I cant believe that there are people that actually listen to what he says…
So sad…

He is like a playground con that convinces you to trade your tasty p&j for his sack lunch that he promises holds much more treasure than your little sandwich… when you open the sack its full of brussel sprouts.

Anyone with half a brain can see that he's just changing to Obama because Clinton cannot win.

Hillary Tested, Blue Collar Approved   May 7th, 2008 4:22 pm ET

you know what i just realized…you fear Mr Obama!

Audrey, San Francisco   May 7th, 2008 4:22 pm ET

dominated? sorry the razorthin margin by which clinton won indiana cannot possibly be called domination.

Lynette   May 7th, 2008 4:21 pm ET

That can't be Rush Limbaugh "flip-flopping" can it??? He's such an idiot! He's now taking this new position out of fear! The republicans see Sen. Obama coming and they don't have a clue how to deal with him.

Dear Rush, you give us all well-deserved hope that McCain will not win and I'm loving every moment of your implosion!

Much Appreciated!

Woman for Obama in OKC   May 7th, 2008 4:21 pm ET

he is such a slimeball

J   May 7th, 2008 4:21 pm ET

He is just saying that because they all know that Obama has the best chance as beating McCain. Like they showed last night Obama won all the important areas in Ind. to beat the McCain in Sept.

Mary   May 7th, 2008 4:21 pm ET

What a hypocrite!!! Just shut up!!

Talia   May 7th, 2008 4:21 pm ET

what a douche! i can't wait till all of this childish and petty behavior blows up in his face when the republicans lose the general election. THIS ISN'T A GAME! THIS IS OUR COUNTRY! obviously he doesn't care. I thought republicans were patriotic?

joeb   May 7th, 2008 4:21 pm ET

Rush, you have proved once again, that you are indeed a scumbag!

Wes   May 7th, 2008 4:21 pm ET

Think about it would Democratic SuperDelegates listen to Rush… of coursenot he wants them to do the opposite!!

We already know who the stronger of the 2 is….. The one who is winning!!

OBAMA 08

Sean   May 7th, 2008 4:21 pm ET

Like he would tell the truth…

Makeshift   May 7th, 2008 4:21 pm ET

Yeah, because Rush Limbaugh knows what hes talking about. This is the same guy who though Mitt Romney was a better candidate than John McCain for the Republicans. He clearly wasnt, and Obama is clearly better than Hillary.

georgia   May 7th, 2008 4:21 pm ET

Unfortunately many have made this clown rich in spite of his low opinion of his audience. He obviously feels they are not intelligent enough to think for themselves & need his grade school games to puppet them, silly games that suggest his drug addiction is again full blown .

Status QuO.   May 7th, 2008 4:21 pm ET

I do not like Obama and I've recently left the Democratic party. HOWEVER, I will not stand by and listen to his crap. His is the kind of thinking that we need to defeat in November. Enough of this Clinton-Obama madness, time to put these fools to rest.

Caroline   May 7th, 2008 4:21 pm ET

Limbaugh is not worth a comment. Why would you even put this on a blog?

Zack Mac   May 7th, 2008 4:21 pm ET

This is just a a game to stretch the fight even longer.. it has no bases. Why did not hey say two days ago? Think !!!

Gena   May 7th, 2008 4:21 pm ET

Who, in their right mind, listens to this hypocrit anyway? I couldn't care less what this idot thinks – about any candidate or any issue.

Tejano   May 7th, 2008 4:20 pm ET

Yep. time to wrap up the red carpet for Hillary. "Mission Accomplished".
Super delegates do your job and end the pain for Hillary.

Obama is toast. Thank you Hillary.

Can't wait for the main event. Obama cannot win. Did you hear that.

Marc in DeKalb, IL   May 7th, 2008 4:20 pm ET

This sounds like "Operation Chaos 2″ …

Change the target, confuse the Democrats who are already eating themselves alive, and confuse that middle-ground of voters who is undecided about who to go with in the general election…

Hey, if Rush can get Clinton to win even 1 or 2% of the vote that she couldn't have gotten otherwise, that's still pretty substantial in a race that the media drills into the average voters' mind as "close" …

Ty   May 7th, 2008 4:20 pm ET

We are much smarter than that RUSH…This is just another ploy to put fear in pple closing the deal for BO. We all know this thing is done!!

Tosha-Atlanta, GA   May 7th, 2008 4:20 pm ET

Rush Limbaugh should be in jail for popping pills and you mean to tell me he still has listners. CNN please stop entertaining this clown.

Russ, Albuquerque   May 7th, 2008 4:20 pm ET

And just WHY is anything this fella has to say newsworthy for CNN? We would be better off sticking to relevent news than having the media and entertainment types invent issues.

Limbaugh is as much a racist and hate monger as Rev Wright, the right wing evangelicals, and mudslinging pundits like Ann Coulter, Shawn Hannity, etc. and just as irrelevent.

Hopefully, the young voters that Obama has brought into the election process are smarter than their bi-party-polarized parents and will throw all the bums out Republican and Democrat.

CJ   May 7th, 2008 4:20 pm ET

If the majority of the people in this country vote for McCain no matter who he is running against, the problems are much worse than have been previously stated. At that point, I will believe the majority of people in this country have lost their minds!

Linda Sandy Springs GA   May 7th, 2008 4:20 pm ET

I'am not one to believe in conspiracy theories but Barack Obama would have one Indiana last night if 7% of Republician hadn't voted for Clinton as part of "Operaton Chaos"

Mr Alexerod had the county he wanted to win in … Obama knew what he was doing in Indiana.

Jeff   May 7th, 2008 4:20 pm ET

I was an "Operation Chaos" operative. I crossed party lines and voted for Hillary just to keep the democrats at each others throats.

dbacchus   May 7th, 2008 4:20 pm ET

Not even funny. Now, when the race is over and Obama won, this drug-addicted maniac "changes his mind". Who the hell cares?!

Lanae   May 7th, 2008 4:20 pm ET

This is why people are leaving the republicans in droves because of idiots like limbaugh, hannity and Oreilly. Instead of them trying to work to help bring the country together they continue to divide with hate. People are finally waking up to them and hopefully will continue to rally behind obama for change. And when he becomes president get a strick FEC limit this kind of garbage on radio

CB2   May 7th, 2008 4:20 pm ET

Yeah, right!!!!!

Zoey   May 7th, 2008 4:20 pm ET

Democrats can't win with the young, suburban, and black voters??? WHAT?? — Come on Rush, leave those meds alone. Most of the delegates are in the most populated communities. Take your spin elsewhere. LEAVE THE DRUGS ALONE !

Venus   May 7th, 2008 4:20 pm ET

Obama got 4 more SD today!

Go Obama!

Rick   May 7th, 2008 4:19 pm ET

Usuck Limpbaugh.

Taylor   May 7th, 2008 4:19 pm ET

What a weak attempt at reverse psychology…

Independent   May 7th, 2008 4:19 pm ET

Do you think we're so stupid as to not see reverse psychology when it's staring us in the face?

I'm sure the superdelegates are now all going to put their support behind Hillary!

What a maroon.

LA Ben   May 7th, 2008 4:19 pm ET

Who cares what this slob has to say. The guy's a drug addict and a hypocrite.

How dumb does he think people are?   May 7th, 2008 4:19 pm ET

He's clearly saying this hoping people will pause and instead support Clinton, whom he truly wants to be the nominee. While that may work on the general public, I think (hope??) superdelegates are a little smarter

Hillary Tested, Blue Collar Approved   May 7th, 2008 4:19 pm ET

He loves to hear himself talk.

CP   May 7th, 2008 4:19 pm ET

Rush is just saying this because his plan didn't work. I'm so dizzy with all the spin that has been going on between him and Clinton.

Claire, Texas   May 7th, 2008 4:19 pm ET

Rush, no one cares!

You are trying to use reverse psychology to make the supers go for Clinton whom McCain would totally crush.

Brian G   May 7th, 2008 4:19 pm ET

Yawn.

dave   May 7th, 2008 4:19 pm ET

LOL. A stuffed animal can beat the Republicans.

Madelin Snow   May 7th, 2008 4:19 pm ET

Limbaugh… obvious much??

Vig   May 7th, 2008 4:18 pm ET

Well, that should tell you something. The Republicans are going to have a field day with Obama and in Novemeber the headlines will be Obama is toast.

Victor, NJ   May 7th, 2008 4:18 pm ET

This guy is an egomaniac fool. Why waste time with this idiot.

Canadian Perspective   May 7th, 2008 4:18 pm ET

This is not NEWS CNN!!! Who cares what Rush Thinks!!! Focus on the real issues.
The whole world is paying close attention to this race.

Obama 08

Giovani   May 7th, 2008 4:18 pm ET

Riiiight. Now that Obama is clearly going to be the nominee, you'll say you now want him.

Nice try buddy.

Jane, College Park, Maryland   May 7th, 2008 4:18 pm ET

The first strategy did not work. Now go to the backup plan. He really does want Hillary to win.

Is he not the same guy who had drug addiction problems or am i missing something?

Christine V from Dallas, TX   May 7th, 2008 4:18 pm ET

This is so true. Obama supporters, spoilled brats will find out hard it will be November when Hillary's supporters cross party lines….

Richard   May 7th, 2008 4:18 pm ET

Limbaugh's game is becoming a tad too obvious. Now it's just funny. But at least he's intertaining.

Dexter   May 7th, 2008 4:17 pm ET

Why does anyone care what this fat junkie says?

Might as well ask what Paris Hilton thinks and post it, CNN.

Bayou Joe   May 7th, 2008 4:16 pm ET

Hey Rush, Congratulations, But isn't it to early to tell the Democrats that Obama was the choice among republicans in the first place.
Totally agree, Clinton would be harder to beat. Better a liar in Clinton than a closet Muslim in Obama.

Goodbye, Clinton hello President McCain.

Nausea   May 7th, 2008 4:16 pm ET

Here's the question that Democrats must answer: Is the party's commitment to Barack Obama more important than this election? If his hold on them is strong enough, they'll give him the nomination and throw the election. If not, they'll send him back to the bench to wait for next time, and give the nomination to the only Democrat in the race with the chance to be president — and the first woman president in U.S. history, at that.

oliver   May 7th, 2008 4:16 pm ET

Rush really knows how to manipulate the media.

TruthSeeker   May 7th, 2008 4:16 pm ET

Why does CNN publish such drivel?

Adam from NY   May 7th, 2008 4:16 pm ET

So, it worked so well in Indiana that it's time for some reverse psychology?

60 old white lady, Mo   May 7th, 2008 4:16 pm ET

Limbaugh is just an Idiot… And how american people can listen to him … ?

John J.   May 7th, 2008 4:16 pm ET

So he doesn't look wrong, he changed his bet to the leader after supporting the "underdog" didn't look like it was working out for him… hm.

Boye   May 7th, 2008 4:16 pm ET

LOL, Rush think super-delegates are as ignorant as he is. He is trying to make them hand the nomination to Hillary so that the Democratic party will be in peril. Even a 4year old can see through the mist of lies.

Living in the USA   May 7th, 2008 4:16 pm ET

Rush back away from the pills. Put the bottle down thank you. Wouldn't it be funny if Obama say I don't want his support the same way that he did Wright.

nwhite   May 7th, 2008 4:16 pm ET

hah! what a retard.

Obama 08   May 7th, 2008 4:15 pm ET

He knows McCain can't win without all his dirty tricks.

Chuck, Oregonians for Obama   May 7th, 2008 4:15 pm ET

Rush needs to take a break, grab a bottle of mouth wash, clean up a bit and maybe, just maybe he will stop spewing so much crap. (crap being a politically correct way of saying the other word).

Tjaye   May 7th, 2008 4:15 pm ET

This man is an idiot.

Obama O-8!

Debbie   May 7th, 2008 4:15 pm ET

What a sad, sad individual this pathetic drug addict is!
There are people on this planet starving, there are people dying in wars, we have global warming etc etc.
But Mr. Limbaugh spends his time spewing lies and hatred – so what's the difference between him and Rev. Wright – nothing really, except his white!
What's even sadder is that Limbaugh actually has loyal listeners.
No wonder the world has lost respect for the USA.
The best part about this whole charade is that he fired up the African American voters – and it worked – they voted in droves!
So thanks Mr. Limbaugh – it achieved the exact opposite of your "cunning" plan ha ha ha!

USAF Sr. Airman   May 7th, 2008 4:15 pm ET

What a fool. This guy is all over the place. What kind of uneducated mindless citizens listen to this guy seriously? Typical of a man with no real accomplishments or purpose in life to try to get attention any way he can.

Steve in DC   May 7th, 2008 4:15 pm ET

Rush…take some more pills and go to sleep.

The Dude   May 7th, 2008 4:15 pm ET

He's only saying that because a lot of Republicans already have been voting for Obama.

Common Sense '08!

Jay - democrat from Chicago, IL   May 7th, 2008 4:14 pm ET

I hope Feinstein realizes that having a conversation with a crazy lady like clinton won't do anything. Billary is here to stay and they are only looking out for themselves. I can't believe the good americans who keeps supporting her in Indiana, NC, West Virginia, and Kentucky don't see how damaging of a person Hillary is. Her message is simple, "win at all costs".

It is mind boggling to me that fellow democrats won't just stand up and say "enough is enough". I will vote for Obama for the good of our party and the good of our country so that Mccain is not able to carry out a 3rd bush term.

Everyone knows it. It is ridiculous for clinton to stay in the race.

Please super delegates, I beg of you. End this nomination fight now.

MM   May 7th, 2008 4:14 pm ET

Anybody who listens to this man is a complete idiot.

melancholymonday   May 7th, 2008 4:14 pm ET

Limbaugh doesn't like Obama. To me, this is comforting.

melikeyhill   May 7th, 2008 4:14 pm ET

limbaugh is a neurotic moron, and is working closely with the clintons! this is just another clinton-mccain-republican, strategy, limbaugh is a loser and his tactics will fail!!!

Chut Pata   May 7th, 2008 4:14 pm ET

tch tch Billary. Rush used you to damage the Democratic Party and now he is just discarding you like a used toilet paper. My sympathy with you.

Capt. Smash, Salt Lake City, Utah   May 7th, 2008 4:14 pm ET

Oh No! He is taking pills again someone need to call the police and have him put in jail.

Walter   May 7th, 2008 4:14 pm ET

It's really not nice to publicize the problems of the mentally ill. CNN should be ashamed.

Nando, Florida   May 7th, 2008 4:14 pm ET

Rush mus be back on the MEDS again.!!!!!!!!!

Total meltdown will be in NOV 08

mimi de la cruz for OBAMA   May 7th, 2008 4:14 pm ET

LIMPBAUGH CAN DO AS HE PLEASES. IT'S A FREE

COUNTRY.

Arkansas Undertaker   May 7th, 2008 4:13 pm ET

Why doesnt this Fat Idiot go somewhere and drop dead!

JRC   May 7th, 2008 4:13 pm ET

Is he trying reverse psychology?? His ploy to get Hillary in there didn't work so now he's trying to say Obama is the weakest person. Get a grip, Rush, those drugs must have taken your last living brain cell.

Venus   May 7th, 2008 4:13 pm ET

Who knows what to believe!

Go Obama! We don't need Rush's help!

Sara   May 7th, 2008 4:12 pm ET

Shut up Rush!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Blowhard.

Veteran in Kansas   May 7th, 2008 4:11 pm ET

And this should really tell you something.
