Sources: Clinton supporter pressures Pelosi

Sources say Harvey Weinstein threatened to cut contributions to congressional Democrats.
Sources say Harvey Weinstein threatened to cut contributions to congressional Democrats.

WASHINGTON (CNN) – Hillary Clinton supporter Harvey Weinstein threatened to cut off contributions to congressional Democrats unless House Speaker Nancy Pelosi embraced his plan to finance revotes in Florida and Michigan, three officials familiar with their conversation said.

Weinstein and Pelosi talked on the phone late last month, the sources said.

The three officials spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk publicly about the conversation.

They said Weinstein, a top supporter of Clinton's presidential campaign, appeared determined to buy Clinton more time in her battle against Sen. Barack Obama by pushing for the revote. He was also pressing Pelosi to back off her previous comments that superdelegates should support the candidate who's leading in pledged delegates in early June, the sources said.

My understanding is that even if the votes from Florida & Michigan are counted as is, it won't help Clinton. Pelosi should just tell the man NO! and tell Billary to drop out of the race. It's over. Try again in 4 years.

If this is true, all I have to say for you Hillary and her supporters is this is a new low. I never thought you could go lower but you have officially found yourself in league with the most corrupt politicians of our time. The sad thing is that I once had respect for you and would have voted for you still if you somehow stole the nomination from Obama. Now, if you go down that road, I will be another of the millions of Obama supporters who will not vote for you.

people wil do anything thing to win ......since Hillary can't fairly beat Obama she has to resort to racial tactis to get support from people.......that 's a person who doesn't give a good hoot about the democratic party ./........it's over Hill .

  5. People should vote for whom they want

Does not bother any of you Obama supporters that peoples votes will be taken away from them. Mr. Weinstein has every right to expect the democratic party to have everyones votes count expecially since he is funding the party. He is not buying anything. The right to have ones vote count the last time I looked is FREE – THIS IS AMERICA REMEMBER. If the shoe were on the other foot all of you would be crying racist. You are hyprocriates. Good for Mr. Weinstein to expect fairness in this Country.

An interesting concept. Harvey is so loaded that he thinks he can buy the nomination for Hilary, while Hillary is having to loan her own campaign $11.4 million (which of course rounds up to $20 milion in Hillary dollars....).

Is there a reason that educated whites are supporting Obama?

So much Fraud and corruption even in the US which is supposed to be a developed nation. For power, people go to any extent. Clintons have so much connection in the white house that they can completely overturn the people's decision to meet their personal agenda which is POWER POWER POWER.

Just because, she is behind Obama in delegates, she wants to change the rules. Why should rules be changed for her? because she is a Clinton.

Could Obama have got the rules changed if he were running behind Clinton in delegates?

This is exactly the case Senator Obama is making – the old washington politics in action – and why naational priorities are not being met, for example, education, national security, defense, energy, economic, infrastructure, etc.

Gee, I wonder if the Democratic Party can possibly survive without this loser's contributions. Let's see now. Barack Obama has raised about $150 million from everyday people. When will people like Harvey Weinstein realize that he's no longer relevant. Shouldn't he focus on trying to put out great movies, instead of another "Fatal Attraction" film starring Hillary Clinton.

Save your $$$ Harvey, the DNC does not need your donation, stick to making second rate movies where you belong. Obama has $40M in the bank, the people of America will make up the difference that you are threatening to withhold. Your out of the loop Harvey, just a regular citizen now like the rest of us..lol

This is exactly what I have been saying all along. The Clinton's will do whatever it takes to be back in the White House, even buying an election. How very sad but more importantly, how scary.
We came so close to her winning the Nomination and I know for a fact that if she had won, there would have been no stopping her and Bill and all their corrupt behavior.
Even now she won't bow out gracefully. Why? Well, she needs to have her supporters keep sending her their hard earned money so she can pay herself back the $11.4 million she loaned her campaign. I also am willing to bet she is in far more debt than this amount so she needs your money folks. Go ahead, sent it to her so she and Bill can keep their millions in the bank.

With CNN being so pro Clinton, I am surprised that they even ran this story. I guess it ran somewhere else first so it was old news now.

  17. Bring Unity not Divide and Conquer

These are Hillary's wild cards. If the votes are counted and delegates are seated as is(which is illegal) will be the greatest upset in democratic history. she says the people voted. Right! and monkeys come flying out of my butt!!! That was not a vote, but a sneaky hillary experiment to see what it would look like if she had ZERO competition. and she still only got 55% of the vote.

in every state she is for something differant what ever people want to here she says it

This is old news. A group of her supporters also agreed to pay for the revote in Michigan. What is surprising is the Clinton campaign didn't see anything ethically wrong with having her big money supporters finance revotes in Florida and Michigan.

What a shame. No wonder Nancy Pelosi's tone has changed and she wants the voting process to continue even though it is all over now for Clinton.
