Sources: Clinton supporter pressures Pelosi

Sources say Harvey Weinstein threatened to cut contributions to congressional Democrats.
Sources say Harvey Weinstein threatened to cut contributions to congressional Democrats.

WASHINGTON (CNN) – Hillary Clinton supporter Harvey Weinstein threatened to cut off contributions to congressional Democrats unless House Speaker Nancy Pelosi embraced his plan to finance revotes in Florida and Michigan, three officials familiar with their conversation said.

Weinstein and Pelosi talked on the phone late last month, the sources said.

The three officials spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk publicly about the conversation.

They said Weinstein, a top supporter of Clinton's presidential campaign, appeared determined to buy Clinton more time in her battle against Sen. Barack Obama by pushing for the revote. He was also pressing Pelosi to back off her previous comments that superdelegates should support the candidate who's leading in pledged delegates in early June, the sources said.

I use to work for Weinstein's company. He is one of the biggest bully's in the business. I have not doubt that he threatened Pelosi. What's the matter Harvey, your candidate cant not win on her own? The people now run the democratic party with almost 2 million donors. We don't need you or your tactics any longer. BYE BYE

"We have been strong supporters of the DCCC," the fundraisers wrote to Pelosi. "We therefore urge you to clarify your position on superdelegates and reflect in your comments a more open view to the optional independent actions of each of the delegates at the National Convention in August."

    Go choke yourself Weinstein.

Is he hired or called upon by Rush Limbaugh? Who would need this kind of donors, given millions of new Obam's donors?

I wish him luck Pelosi has made her hatred for Hillary Clinton quite apparent. Pelosi is the most do nothing speaker we have had in my lifetime and she's getting involved in electoral politics? I wish Senator Clinton would dump the Democrats and go Independent. The Democratic leadership has treated her shamefully. I'm jumping parties and voting straight ticket Republican if Obama is the nominee and urge all Clinton supporters to do the same. Give the leadership the thumbs down!

I know BUYING elections is an old tradition, but W.T.H.!!!!

This is flat out black mail! "Do what I want or I won't pay you anymore". You don't own the DNC Weinstein! I expect this sort of crap from the GOP!

Hey Pelosi, you want to see "Disenfrancisement"! Go ahead with the revotes in Mich and Fla! Confirm for the rest of the country that the DNC's rules don't mean anything and that you CAN be bought!

If this happens, I'm done! England here I come.

That does it. Screw them. If this does not show the world just what type of people the Clinton and some of her supporters are capable of I don't know what does. Can't win the election? Just buy it! Just who is the elitist in this campaign? First she borrows her camaign money twice, but will ask her supporters to pay her back. Now they are trying to bully the campagn with money. If the DNC does not tell them where to go, I will become the first registerd Republican in my families history. I was for some sort of compromise, but not more. They broke the rules of which they signed. Let them eat the copies of those rules.
Super Delegates, you have to put an end to this now! To kkkkk with her feelings.

Unbelievable. Glad this is getting coverage in the MSM. This is exactly the sort of "buying of the gov't" and "old politics" which Senator Obama righteously wants to end.

WELL I SAY GOOD RIDDENS.... HILIARY IS JUST LIKE A REPUBLICAN.... BUYING THE ELECTION.... WE DO NOT NEED ANYMORE HANGING CHADS... MICHIGAN AND FLORIDA SHOULD NOT COUNT THE STATES AND HILIARY BROKE THE RULES SO THEY SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED IN THE PRIMARY, HE ONLY PERSONS TO BLAME ARE THEIR REPUBLICAN GOVERNORS AND OFFICIAL AND YES HILIIARY, IF SHE WOULD HAVE OBEYED THE RULES THIS MESS WOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED.

PUT THE BLAME WHERE IT BELONGS... THE GOVERNORS, ELECTED OFFICIALS AND HILIARY CLINTON......

THE BEST SOLUTION IS TO SPLIT THE DELEGATES STRAIGHT DOWN THE MIDDLE, ANYTHING ELSE IS DUMB RATIONALE.
