Sources: Clinton supporter pressures Pelosi

Sources say Harvey Weinstein threatened to cut contributions to congressional Democrats.
Sources say Harvey Weinstein threatened to cut contributions to congressional Democrats.

WASHINGTON (CNN) – Hillary Clinton supporter Harvey Weinstein threatened to cut off contributions to congressional Democrats unless House Speaker Nancy Pelosi embraced his plan to finance revotes in Florida and Michigan, three officials familiar with their conversation said.

Weinstein and Pelosi talked on the phone late last month, the sources said.

The three officials spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk publicly about the conversation.

They said Weinstein, a top supporter of Clinton's presidential campaign, appeared determined to buy Clinton more time in her battle against Sen. Barack Obama by pushing for the revote. He was also pressing Pelosi to back off her previous comments that superdelegates should support the candidate who's leading in pledged delegates in early June, the sources said.

    Hillary voted for:

    The war
    The patrot act (twice)
    Judge Robertson
    Judge Alito
Irans army to be called a terrorist organization

If that is not a Republican I don't know what is.

    Of all the nerve!!!!

So tell me what's the difference in George Bush stealing an election and you buying an election. If this happens the Dems just may as well fold up because their entire existence is done.

  8. Once was blind but now can SEE!

Great! Now she has her wealthy bully supporters making threats to the Democrats if they don't support her in trying to "bamboozle" this election.

Now it seems a bit peculiar that Pelosi is backing down on her once direct statment of the superdelagates voting with the popular vote.

I guess there one thing that speaks louder than the voters. The sound of the Wealthy financial backers of our "elected" officials threatening to cut them off.

This stinks! This is why we need Obama...our goverment can not continue to be bullied and manipulated by the likes of this type of power hungry people.

That's right Hillary. Show America how much integrity you have by using your ultra-rich elitist friends to strongarm and threaten elected officials. Let's turn America into the Soviet Union. How could someone not respect you? (sarcasm...lots of it. Boy, she's pathetic...)

  20. Bring Unity not Divide and Conquer

it's funny how clinton supporters claim that it's obama's fault for this whole michigan and florida thing. he played by the rules and removed his name from the ballot in mi, and did not campaign in both states. hillary broke party rules and left her name on the ballot. it's easy to win when you're the only one on the ballot, and people voted for you because your husband was a president. you can't bully your own party to change the rules and i think pelosi was right for not taking your crap. if you stayed off the ballot in michigan and didn't threaten the DNC in the first place, there would have been a revote. it's too late in the game to let these states count when it would waste valuable time in the GE. split the delegates 50/50 and call it a day.

I think Pelosi has changed her tone. I think she realizes that Obama cannot win the General Election with all the Combined information that links him to an extreme radical left.

Democrats like me will not vote for him based on that alone...Additionally, he has no credentials...Go Figure!!!

Democrats voting for Obama are going to be the Demise of the Party if they don't wake up
