Sources: Clinton supporter pressures Pelosi

Sources say Harvey Weinstein threatened to cut contributions to congressional Democrats.
Sources say Harvey Weinstein threatened to cut contributions to congressional Democrats.

WASHINGTON (CNN) – Hillary Clinton supporter Harvey Weinstein threatened to cut off contributions to congressional Democrats unless House Speaker Nancy Pelosi embraced his plan to finance revotes in Florida and Michigan, three officials familiar with their conversation said.

Weinstein and Pelosi talked on the phone late last month, the sources said.

The three officials spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk publicly about the conversation.

They said Weinstein, a top supporter of Clinton's presidential campaign, appeared determined to buy Clinton more time in her battle against Sen. Barack Obama by pushing for the revote. He was also pressing Pelosi to back off her previous comments that superdelegates should support the candidate who's leading in pledged delegates in early June, the sources said.

I hope Americans wake up and see what kind of person Clinton is. This is the type of people that are trying to put her in power, because obviously Clinton will be doing favors for him. Again, Clinton is trying to buy her way into the White House. She is revolting...I bet if America could vote again, it would be very different. I still don't know how a politician can lie over and over about something such as the sniper fire incident. If she can lie so freely about that, what else is she lying about? Obviously the tax break on gas is a load of it...But she doesn't want to listen to experts.

Please people wake up and let's end this already!

    Boycott Weinstein...

    Is this democracy?
We all know that Hillary can not win the nomination and now money is what is matter. Is Harvey Weinstein the person who decides who should win the Democratic nomination?
This is called self-destruction, the Republicans must be loving this...

See? This is the kind of backdoor politics that the Clintons thrive on. These are not the kind of people we want in the white house.

It's kinda funny to see a lot of Hillary's supporters act like her!

This race is over! Maybe Harvey is doing this to save face!

Anyway – it's time for us to come together and get behind Obama!

It's time to heal and get ready to beat Mc Cain and his supporters!

Keep going Hillary! Yes, this race is over but the last primary is June 3, 2008 and every vote we get will be a blessing! While you are at it – turn your attention to Mc Cain!

Obama supporters – let's pull back our attacks from Hillary and Bill Clinton – we are still in the same party and we will need the Clintons and their supporters to beat Mc Cain!

Stop Crying Hillary Supporters, This race is over. You can't act like Bush just cause you all lost. Have some dignity and support Obama now, while there is a chance you all might look good to public ( normal people who are suffering everyday) once a gain.

  9. Shameless Clinton Campaign

After having lost with such a big difference, Obama is leading in every aspect except clinton imaginary lead. This clearly states she is selfish for the position. Superdelegates just let her go home ..

This is exactly what obama is talking about! Same old dirty politics. Trying to buy an election. Pelosi needs to have a spine. Have some principles and don't fall to this deal. I see now why Pelosi says the race must go on. Pelosi can be bought too. The Obama camp needs to watch their back because the rug is going to be jerked out from under their feet. Remember this is the Clintons......people have died that knew too much about them. Wake up people.....

This is exactly why people like Obama as much as we do – because he is not part of the democrat elite or Washington insiders.

He will be the voice of the people – not the voice of insiders like Hillary is.

No one should pressure Hillary to quit. Every vote counts. FLA and MI should count. When every state has finished voting , then is over. It's the way democracy works. The party is divided and calling for Hillary to quit, is not helping. If they do that to Obama , there would be demonstration sagainst it. and calling racism. Let's be fair and balance. We are hurting the party.

GOOD FOR HIM! SOMEONE NEEDS TO CHALLENGE PELOSI! SHE'S THE WORST OF THE WORST. FURTHER, IT'S NOT UP TO HER WHETHER OBAMA AND CLINTON END UP ON THE SAME TICKET. WHO DOES SHE THINK SHE IS? IN ADDITION, IT MUST BE UNCONSTITUTIONAL FOR THE DEMOCRATS TO DISALLOW ANY STATE VOTES DURING A MAJOR PRIMARY FOR A PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION. IT'S ALL STUPID. THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY IS SO SCREWED UP; IT'S PITIFUL THAT ADULTS MAKE SUCH RIDICULOUS AND STUPID DECISIONS AND RULES! THEY ALL ACT LIKE THEY'RE IN HIGH SCHOOL.

Why is this news? Of course the supporters of any candidate will press to have their candidate get whatever support they can. Of course they will use every thing in their power for their candidate. Let me guess the Obama supporters will cry foul and the Hillary supporters will say that she SHOULD win because they trust her more and Obama is a Terrible person. Sheesh folks get over yourselves.

It's so sad how these special interests have the parties by the balls, Obama can change the face of politics, he's raised so much that these money threats are falling on deaf ears, thank god. Once in a life time chance present, I truly hope Mr. Obama wins.
