Why should the American people care what Hamas thinks about our election? Hamas members don't get to vote, do they?

In reality, I suspect that Hamas would prefer McCain, since he would continue Bush's idiotic policies that have steadily eroded American influence in the Middle East.

The more McCain pulls this crap, the better it is for Obama. This is a losing recipe for him. Just look at Hillary. Dirty politics don't work anymore. Keep talking like Rush Limbaugh. See where that gets you in the end.

This repeated obsession by the 'pugs as to what Hamas or Al Queda allegedly wants is beyond bizarre and is most certainly pathetic. If Old John's™ foreign policy is going to be no more than "the terrorists want us to zig so I'll zag" then gawd help us all if the old nutter wins.

According to Grumpy Old John™, we should forget about national elections and just run our federal candidates by Hamas and appoint the ones they don't like. They'll never figure that out!

America deserves better than John McAncient as our president. Can I get a "amen"?

This is stupid.

OK, the McCain people made it an age issue. Not Barack.

Losing one's bearings is an age old NAUTICAL term. It means you MISCALCULATED the direction you are going.

NOTHING to do with AGE!

Obama supporters love the idea of an Obama presidency because they don't want anyone smarter than they are in DC. To have a man in the White House that has no character or background just like them would make them a lot more comfortable.

I have no respect for anyone that buys into the Carl Rove playbook of control with fear and power!

"Hamas wants Obama" what a load of BS - but still you lap it up and believe everything the GOP feed to you - read some back news on Hamas, try and articulate a theory to why they would ever want to endorse Obama and the ask why is McCain bringing to the spot light such attacks and smear tactics!

4 more years of sending this country back to the dark ages is it? I hope you like the idea of a draft for the endless wars McCAain will have us fighting!

Let's turn this thing on the Republicans this time. The ultimate gaol is to keep this country safe, right? Well if the terrorists groups are in support of Sen. Obama, then they won't bomb us.

McCain is trying to use a scare tactic on the American people. How does he know how the Hamas Officials feel? Was he communicating with them?

Lets talk about the issues that are a concern to this country and try to find a way out of this sadden economy.

First of all people, the word bearings is very much unrelated to age! STRICKLY FOX NEWS MEDIA HYPE!! But, that’s Fox News, always taking nothing and twisting it to their benefit to solicit viewers. Second of all why should we look at Hamas endorsement of Obama as a negative issue? It just puts him in a better position than McCain for implementing peace tactics. McCain has a hot head and an appetite for war. So yeah, let's put him in the kitchen so he can eat. War!! That will solve all our problems. And as for Obama's relationship with Ayer, IT"S NOT A RELATIONSHIP!!!! Obama strictly stated that they were friendly, not friends. That doesn't mean that he comes to Obama's house and down a few beers while watching the playoffs. People let's stop the Media hype and BULL!! It simply means that they have spoken to each other or interacted at some point in a calm, respectable manner!!! Just b/c you share the some of the same thoughts as others doesn't mean that you are the same as them. That’s why couples argue. I'm Catholic and I know that Catholic priest have sexual molestered young boys. Though I don't find that conduct acceptable, I’m still Catholic. What should I do now, change religions? No!! So let’s stop with the Ayer and Rev. Wright thoughts that Obama must share the same beliefs as them. Obama 08" Get with it or get dragged into another eight years of George W. (What Happened) Bush!!!!!!!!!!

So let's sum up "Uncle Sam's" thoughts...more war, tax breaks for the rich, fearmongering, lying, smear tactics, Limpaw chaos, and well more lying. Sounds like he is voting for the right guy...Grampa Goiter McBush. See some idiots never learn from 8 years of the worst administration in the history of the US. There should be an IQ test required to vote. This guy would never be able to vote, let alone be left unattended in public.

Yes, Mr. McCain... and there are many in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and other countries that are cheering for you... there are those that want WAR to continue, in the middle east, that are cheering for you... but what really scares me... is that a McCain Presidency will weaken our National Security... will continue to weaken our dollar.

WE, should be very scared of a McCain Presidency... when it comes to our National Security, Economy, and our Reputation in the world.

I don't understand. Obama didn't solicit Hamas' support. Why should I worry about it or think that it has anything to do with his character? On the other hand, why should I presume that McCain has lost his bearings?

I will say that I believe McCain fired the first shot on this one. Implying terrorist ties to Obama, albeit very veiled, is still a bit of a smear tactic.

You gotta be amused by Frank. He makes the following comments about a current [D] presidential candidate: "is not qualified and with some of his past relationships, it is too risky to place him on the top position in our country! What are Americans thinking really? Are we that naive and that easy to fool?"

Of course, those same comments fit [R] George Bush to a tee back in 2000, and old Frank clearly wasn't that concerned about these issues back then. And as to the question: are Americans that naive and easy to fool -- that boat already left the dock back in 2000, came back and ran into the dock in 2004, and left again. And here we have Frank in his speedos with a Bud Lite in his hand driving the boat towards the battered dock again!

There is a not-so-mild streak of retardation or insanity that runs in the American voting public.

If Hamas had said no, they would be asking "why don't you like Obama?" It didn't matter what the answer was. So here we go again, with the "Linking" this is like that Kevin Bacon game, lol, pretty soon they will link Osama to Obama, get it Osama/Obama. OOPS, did I give away the next weeks news.

Senator McCain get over for goodness sakes. McCain talks about negative attacks, but denounces (with a wink) the negative campaign ad about Senator Obama and Jeremiah Wright. Please stop playing these childish political games and get with the real issues. You don't even know a Shiite from a Suni.

Oh here's another one for you who try to link Obama to terrorists. Since 15 of the 19 attackers on 911 came from Saudia Arabia, and bush is so close to the royal family, maybe he is connected to this breeding ground for terrorist. Duh, think about it. You people who try and link Obama to terrorist are morons.

I fail to see how "losing his bearing", which is a term for losing one's direction can be translated into "attack on my age". This is typical of hate politics. Attack and deliberately twist your opponents words until they appear to be true.

Well what Obama actually did was use a very polite term - "losing his bearing", rather than a more true and less diplomatic "showing desperation and hatred and a willingness to use fear politics".

It is a sad day in America when a man like Obama, who has tried hard to keep the discussion civil, is STILL swift boated by the Republican (and Clinton) machines.

VOTE OBAMA and vote for a nuanced and intelligent view of the world!

This is simply a preview of the general election. McCain will tacitly support attacks on Obama while claiming he is running an honorable campaign. This so called "outrage" is cover for their impending negative attacks they plan to unleash.

McCain, if he chooses to raise the Wright issue, will need to answer for Hagee and Parsley.

I'm sorry but it is the most craziest thing to think just because Hamas would like to see Obama as president it means something negative upon Obama. If anything it shows, that even the enemies of the US see that Obama is good for the U.S. country and maybe the world.

Come one...be smarter then the voters of 2004. Don't let McCain play into your fears. That's how Bush won last time and look where we are today..100 times worse off and more vulnerable to terrorists attacks. Bush is going to go down in history as the worst US President.

Obama was saying that he lost his moral bearings.

I contend that his invovment in the Keating 5 scandal shows that he lost them a long time ago

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keating_Five and do some googling

He is too old. He mistaked shia and sunni 3 time in one week. he will not release his medical records. Reagan was Senile his second term do we want the same with Mc Cain. he will not live out his first term (sad but a fact)

I really think that John McCain's bearings were lost when he was tortured as a POW in Vietnam. He's damaged goods. If McCain becomes the president I'm sure the VC will have a good laugh. People give McCain too much credit for being a good solder, the fact is that he was caught. That's kind of embarrasing, don't you think?

If McCain becomes the president I'm sure the VC will have a good laugh. People give McCain too much credit for being a good solder, the fact is that he was caught.
Reading Senator Obama's comments in context, I thought the "lost his bearings" comment was more a dig at McCain's consistency or integrity than his age. As in headed in the wrong direction or flip-flopping. And besides, age is an issue on both sides of that argument- arguing that McCain may not have the stamina or that Obama doesn't have the experience due to his lack of age. And those are both reasonable considerations for the voters. I don't see where an attack on McCain's age should be any more "outrageous" than taking a dig at Obama's.

Reading some of these responses is SCARY!! Wow, stuff like this makes you wonder if you really live in the United States of America.
Some of you need to get a grip on reality and recognize who our real enemies are... And that every time we allow them to put ourselves against each other, they win little by little.
And it's amazing how much we hate "politics" but that's what we use as a deciding factor when electing a "leader"

1. You don't judge people by what morons might be in favor of them. There are morons in favor of any of them. Big deal.

2. Losing one's bearings has nothing to do with age. It was all about straying from a commitment to run a respectful campaign based on issues instead of smears.

3. Facts may be facts, but particular facts stated at certain times, in certain ways, in connection with certain other facts or implications or innuendos lead to distortions. When one engages those sorts of tactics, it doesn't matter whether it was only facts that was stated - the intent still was to smear, and that is reprehensible.

3 points..

1st - Obama has made it very very clear that he considers Hamas a terrorist group who he will not talk to until they lay down their arms and agree with current peace agreements.

2nd - Who cares what Hamas says? This is politics of fear. The republicans did the same thing during the last presidential election claiming that Al Queda wanted a democrat in the white house. Who is dumb enough to fall for such stuff?

3rd - If you read the whole quote it was actually kind of flattering if it had come from somewhere else - they were comparing Obama to JFK. Not too far of a stretch in my mind.

If anyone looks at the comments in the context in which they were said, they would realize that "losing his bearings" is NOT a reference to McCain's age. It 'as everything to do with him being totally out of touch with the American people. This is media-created nonsense. Give me a f**king break!

At first I thought senator Lieberman was wrong to leave the democratic party to become independent. It was the right thing to do thanks for speaking out the truth for what you believe in. Obama is the weakest candidate ever presented by the democratic party, I'm with you and Mcain all the way

What Hamas thinks is not of interest to this voter. I'm more interested in why McCain refuses to sign the GI Bill.

Someone wants to know why Lieberman is always hanging around McCain, well I know. Lieberman is there to remind McCain the metro van is outside waiting to take them back to the senior citizens home in time for dinner and shuffle board, then to bed.
