Poll shows Clinton with big lead in West Virginia

Clinton holds a big lead in West Virginia.
Clinton holds a big lead in West Virginia.

(CNN) – Even as she faces pressure from some to call her White House bid quits, Hillary Clinton holds a commanding lead in West Virginia, according to a new poll released Friday.

Clinton has a 43-point advantage over Obama, 66 percent to 23 percent, according to a new survey from the American Research Group.

The poll was conducted entirely after Tuesday's primary results, and carries a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points.

The poll suggests Clinton’s white, working class base seems to be holding firm for her - at least in West Virginia, where that demographic makes up a substantial portion of the Democratic electorate.

West Virginia, one of the six contests left in the Democratic presidential race, votes next Tuesday.

Hey..ignore the polls. In fact just ignore the WV itself. Its almost 95% white. But you must take into account Iowa, Idaho, etc.

Of course she does! She was always a favorite to win WV......That does not change the reality of the race though....Even with a WV blowout she cannot catch up with him..

Well how surprising is that. I guess the road to the White House does go through WV and their 28 delegates. Is she now an advocate for "small states" Gee I wonder why...

Well that's great... Clinton and Obama will most likely split the remaining contests... that should make her feel good about her campaign. No more negativity Democrats let's UNITE and DEFEAT McCain in November. We have to put our personally biases to the side and consider the state that America is in right now... we CAN'T have a 3rd Bush term and that is what we would get with McCain...

Oh Lord, I can already hear Hillary claiming how this represents her being the best candidate. Meanwhile, they are counting pennies to pay staffers and their bills. I would love to see Barack close this gap some before Tuesday!!!

What the people of WV should be doing, is working to educate themselves on the issues, and not the color of someone's skin.

From the Ozombie handbook: The big lead is due to:
    – racism
    – Rush
    – Republicans
    – racism
    – the media
    – Hillary (I agree with this one)
    – racism
    – space aliens

Say no to the real racism, antisemitism, elitism, big lobbies and vote manipulation.
    Go Hillary!

I love the fact that Obama fans think CNN is biased towards Hillary, and Hillary supporters insist CNN is biased towards Obama.

Good for her! I still think that she can stay in as long as she wants. It looks pretty clear though that Sen. Obama will get the nomination. She's run a tough campaign and you have to respect that. I'm also happy that Sen. Obama looks to be about have things pretty much in hand. I am looking forward to November and dealing a blow to the Republicans.
