Those Clinton supporters who are attacking Obama are just being totally unfair. On the issues that matter, Obama and Clinton agree, almost issue by issue. I was never thrilled she might be the candidate, but I would have supported her, because, guess what, it is not about her: it is about America. If you think McCain is best for America, fine, but you cannot have been supporting Clinton's views. If, instead, you agree with Clinton on the issues that matters, you will unite behind the nominee. To vote out of spite is so wrong, unpatriotic and destructive, it is painful. It is your right to vote for anyone, but I would hope everyone - McCain voters or Dem voters - would ask who is right on the issues. I would have voted Clinton for that reason, and it would never have been close. She is right on the economy and the way in Iraq, and on not a single real issue does she disagree with Obama.

I strongly believe Obama will be a great American President. I hope voters will keep their minds open, but do what you wish with your vote.

I am a Democrat who will not vote in 2008. Reasons: Obama is the least experienced of all candidates (1 year ACTUAL!!!!) Very rarely do you get a straight answer except "change." and what makes me the most angry is that if he were White where would he be in the race???? I will not vote for McCain. McCain is not the person I saw in 2000 when the idiot trashed him. He has changed to someone I don't know, not for the better

The issue is that no matter what answer he gives people will not be satisified and the Republicans will spin his answers for anotther sound bite. . So, I say Democrats do not keep dignifying the Republican party by responding.

NickNas- Why will this backfire? If a bill that you supported had earmarks you didn't like wouldn't you vote no? You opposed them enough not to vote for the bill, but its fine if they go through as long as your name isn't attached to it. That's some great leadership!!! I would hope you would vote against it and tell them to remove the earmarks if they wanted your vote. Every bill he gets as president will have attachments with it. Is he simply going to let them all go through so he doesn't look bad? I don't want a president who is going to simply be "present".

Who here is Republican and can honestly say that they are happy with the state of America today? Shame on Bush for dupping voters into voting for him in 2000. If for one second you believe that McCain wont be more of the same then it's about time that you wake up from your hypnosis! The failed policies of Bush have made the obvious choice for CHANGE in the upcoming election to be Obama. I honestly believe that it is virtually impossible to do worse than Bush has for the past 7 years regardless of Obama's "lack of experience".

I live overseas (Italy) and I am an Independent. I support Obama but would happily vote for Clinton if she were nominated. McCain represents what the world has seen for the last 8 years and wants an end to. It is not uncommon over here to here the news refer to the Presidential race as between Obama and Clinton. With the world against McCain I guess he feels desperate and is trying to keep old news new. I am waiting to here about the Rev. Wright again. By the way, when the name Wright is on the ballot, I will consider his comments important.

Ok- let's show a little of our collective intelligence and stop insulting it. I'm still undecided, but I guess I'm the only person to call it as it is... If Hillary had the ability to raise as much money as Obama and more, then there would be no talk about "outspending" on ads and such. The fact that She cannot raise even close to the amount of money that Obama has should be a clear sign of her failure in this race. There are strict limits on private donations in public election campaigns. More money ALWAYS equals more popular support when you break down the numbers. To be fair, Hillary is a strong candidate, who has many points that Obama cannot compete with. The truth is, Americans want change, they want it now, and they want the people they elect to stop insulting their intelligence and values. For that to happen, the electorate must cease trying to feed the public doctored numbers and adjusted figures. America has spoken: We are tired of the Bushes and Clintons; We are tired of the various, pointless Wars; and we are fed with being fed BS by candidates and incumbents from all parties that feed us whatever they can in order to further their personal careers. Barack Obama is right: Elected officials running for office should be focused on why they should be elected, not because their "time, service, and dedication" entitles them to it.

My questions for Obama: "Why are you always right about every major issue facing the country? As two examples, you thought the war in Iraq was a bad idea, and you felt that the Bush tax cuts (which disproportionately helped the richest Americans) was foolish, especially in a time of war. You must have great judgment or you've sold your soul to the Devil. Which is it, buddy? We Republicans are scared of you because you look like the people we put in front of cameras at our conventions but you actually want to make decisions behind the scenes; this should clearly remain in the hands of old white guys like McSame. That's a great idea. There are questioned I'd like asked of the candidates (not just Obama) too.

The two examples are just silly though. The clinging/bitter comment has been discussed at nausia. The present votes are completely understandable to anyone that was willing to listen to his answer.

Rather than focus on issues of distraction like that why not ask legitimate policy questions like...
What motive will companies have to keep paying healthcare for their premiums if Universal coverage is adopted? or...
The midwest manufacturing sector has been hardest hit my mistakes like NAFTA, given that you recognize NAFTA as a mistake will you be targeting those areas in your jobs programs.

Tough questions don't have to be about distraction issues.

Well, the fact is that he has answered every question that he has been asked. People just ignore it for some reason. Voting present is customary for votes whose results are already known. Whether or not you agree with what he said, he has already explained what he was trying to say with his bitter comment. His positions on issues are also very clear if you actually look them up. Like all the candidates, there's a section on his website that list all his stances.
