The primary process is greatly flawed. We really need to revisit our thinking. Why should all the states who have earlier prmaries be the ones deciding the nominee. States will later primaries are written off - in essence the votes are considered irrelevant. ALL Americans should have a vote that plays signfificantly into the selection process.

On a side note, I found previous coverage by CNN to be offensive. There is no need for CNN or anyone to belitte the people of WV as backward 'rednecks'. Maybe the voters of WV have it right! CNN has no right to belittle their judgment.

It is amuzing for a non-american to read a blog where people of similar beliefs, all supporters of the same party argue over two candidates who are virtually identical! (Although it must be said that on this side of the pond Obama is gaining much more respect for his apparent ability to understand the mindset of people beyond the US).
'Change' is what the US needs. It need to stand up for itself as the superpower that it is and reafirm its self as such. This of course was Bush's ideology, but the 'agressive' mannar in which he carried this out caused this superpower credibility to falter.

I have read a lot of posts over the past weeks and i am troubled by the messages the entire world is viewing about the integrity of American citizens. Anyone in the world can view the same posts i have been viewing.

It is great to be enthusiastic about our governmental process and it is wonderful for people to stand up and be counted and be supportive of their candidate running for the highest office of American government.

But, when someone reads the posts, what are they seeing? Are they seeing enthusiasm, supportiveness? What i am reading are vulgar, racist, bigoted, unintelligent, and jr. high school level "na, na, na" posts on so many of the sites.

Is this what we want to convey to the rest or the world? Our country is the greatest county on Earth and we are responsible to uphold her dignity as her citizens.

So I would like people to think about this: Be optomistic about America's future, be supportive and enthusiastic. Please be civil and let the rest of the world know that the USA is great because her people are great! We are a nation of incredible minds who are willing to accept differences and acknowledge everyone is entitled to their own opinion with the freedom of speech to express it.

Secondly, if it werent for rural americans, you folks in the cities would starve without food, and have no electricity. we make the world go around, you just flood us with money. Florida and Michigan brought their primaries forward, thus were punished and their delegates would not count.

Now after Hilary realised she was not winning, Bill decided to go to florida to fundraise whuile the florida primaries were taking place. Obviously his presence there made Hilary win. After the contest, every news agency called it a win in a beauty pageant, where she was the only competetor, and anyway, they even said tha race did not count.
Hilary did not complain then, her supporters did not complain then. But when Hilary realised this race was becoming really tight, she made FL and Michigan an issue. Obama did not even have his name on the ballot in michigan, becusae the race would not count.

I live close to West Virginia, and I can honestly say that people love making fun of the state... it seems to always be the "reject" of the country, because it's not a very diverse state by any means. It really is a very conservative state, and that's why Hillary will win there most likely. I hate to say it, but I don't think West Virginia is ready for an African American President. Today, I finally realized that the greatest and most wonderful thing the results of the primary elections has brought to me personally, is that I won't be reading the most mean-spirited, downright rude and cruel messages that people who support Barack Obama have, and do, put on these blogs - about Hillary Clinton. This is a woman who has worked night and day for the good of her country - our country - in the fairest, best manner possible, and these ugly diatribes are what she gets as thanks.

I have been a supporter of Hillary and will always think of her kindly. I will continue to think of her opponent and supporters in a way I can't even admit in print. Hey marcelo I agree CNN use to be the meat and potatoes of cable news especially in a Presidential Election. There was the Spin Room Press and Carlson were great along with Crossfire. Where is Tony Snow he was on a couple of times and no where to be found. Instead we have to endure Cafferty, Borger, Toobin, Gergen and Martin. CNN has also taken a dive in nighttime ratings to from what I am reading. The tickers are a plus but after the race is over these blogs will be dead.

This race has degraded into a personality issues and not the issues. No one should be suggesting that Hillary Clinton (or Barack Obama, if he loses the nomination) should be running as a third party candidate in November. That would be the death of the Democratic party. If one of them runs against the other in the general election the Democrats stand no chance. Saying that Hillary should run as a third party candidate is essentially casting your vote for McCain, and anyone that calls his/her self a Democrat and says the McCain is a better choice for president than Obama needs to take a serious look at what they want the future of this country to be.

I am so sick of this argument that white, hard-working people do not vote for Obama. I am a 44 year old white woman from Pennsylvania, with two jobs and a household income of less than $40,000 a year, with a family of four to support, who PROUDLY voted for Obama. What do we expect from a state like West Virginia? As far as I am concerned, she can win ever single vote in W.V. and it won't matter to me. That state is so far behind when it comes to racial equality. If this horrid woman steals and cheats her way into this nomination, I will be writing Barack in come November. Take your collective heads out of your behinds and grow up. Let the primary season play out how it will. The MI and FL delegates with be seated and the Super Delegates will choose the nominee that will best compete against McCain. That is why the Super Delegates exist. Super Delegates who are pledging ahead of the finish line are actually sort of breaking the rules. They are supposed to wait.

Look folks, Hillary's only experience is where the silverware is kept in the White House. She was outspent by Sen. Obama 3-1 because he received more donations because more people want him to be president. He has consistently said he would never ask her to quit her campaign as that is her decision. As for Michigan and Florida; Clinton, Edwards and Sen. Obama all agreed to abide by the DNC rules. She was way ahead and expected to get the nomination. She is now losing and crying for the Mich. and Fl. votes that she knew wouldn't count. How can you give her Michigan votes when Sen. Obama wasn't even on the ballot. If he had been; the history of the primarys show he would have netted enough delegates that he'd still be ahead. And finally, for you folks that think she should run as an independent...that would insure a McCain win in November. If you want more of the past eight years, write in Hillary. If people are going to vote for McCain should Obama get the nomination, then they are saying a lot. They are saying the country has not progress much at all and everyone knows the county economy will remain the same, higher gas prices, more people loosing their jobs, higher income for CEO's, more jobs going out of the county under McCain. If people wish to do this to themselves then so be it. They will have notthing to complain about for the next four years. Hillary who thinks she can have African American votes, well they also can say they will vote for McCain because they do not like Hillary. What about his endorsement from Farakhan, Hamas (and now it looks like an adviser had actually met with the terrorist group) and his participation in the Million Man March? CNN wake up b/c these are important things we voters need to know about a man who could potentially be president of the United States!!!

Well, isn't it nice that Obama is going to grace the state of West Virginia with a last minute stump. What I find interesting about this is Hillary is ahead by 30 points and she still feels the need to spend 4 days there!! Wouldn't it be one HECK of a blow to her campaign if she only won by only 10 percentage points instead of 25.

Obama and his supporters are trying to steal this election. Obama blocked efforts to revote in Michigan and Florida. 93% of blacks support Obama, however any comments regarding this fact, or mention of blue collar white workers for Clinton, is met with accusations of racism. Obama has taken the lead by outspending Hillary 2 or 3 to one, and his caucus wins don't reflect a true lead in popular votes. In addition, early calls for Hillary to drop out show a ploy by Obama to circumvent the democratic process. As a result of all this, the less qualified candidate may end up as our leader ... what a shame.

The next few contest will prove that Hillary is the "correct" nominee to represent the "broader" base of the party. Obama is so far in his Oprah-Winfrey Ivory Tower that you've got to wonder if he will give away free cars when he becomes President-and no one will be able to afford the gas for them. Hillary is experienced on the issues that matter to 'average' Americans and knows how to deliver to fix many of the problems facing "the people". I watch these races and the superdelegate votes very carefully. I am a good financial contributor and volunteer and will no longer donate to people who are in the Obama camp. They can do what they want but not with my money. I have received calls from my state party and have told them that since the co-chairs made public endorsenments that they can do without my money until the Obama era is over. (Should be short-lived anyway.)

Allocate delegates instead of use a normal winner take all approach that causes no problems.
