What does it mean; it means that Hillary will have won one of the less diverse states in the union. That is not to disparage West Virginians– only to say that blue-collar, White people have been her strongest demographic all along therefore it makes sense that she has such a huge lead. That still isn't any reason for Barack not to be campaigning there. Nevertheless, it will barely dent Barack's delegate lead and if superdelegates keep falling behind him, Hillary may wake up Wednesday to find herself even further behind in the delegate math.

With that said, it is time that we start behaving as USAmericans and not as White, Black, Hispanic, Jewish, Catholic, male, female, blue-collar, white-collar, college-educated, etc. individuals. In case you haven't been paying attention, foreclosures are sweeping the nation and have affected EVERY demographic CNN tracks (to our disadvantage); our infrastructure is crumbling; the price for necessities such as food and fuel are skyrocketing; we are fighting wars on multiple fronts and our military is stretched thin; later this year Medicare will begin paying out more than it takes in (the same is projected to happen to Soc Sec. in 2017). With all of this going on, watching many of you act like high school kids up for the prom queen/king ("I won't vote for her/him because his supporters insulted my candidate...") would be hilarious if it weren't so scary. Wise up people: vote for a candidate because you believe in their policies and that they will improve upon the current conditions. Regardless of who loses, all three candidates are wealthy and elite and you'll never see them at your local bowling alley, bar, shooting range or gas station.

It's time that we remember, for which it stands, the 'Unite' in the United States of America. "United we stand, divided..."; I'm sure you can finish that.

I believe with states being winner take all, Hillary could rack up alot of electoral votes. Why is it for the past several months we get fed this line of tripe, "This State is the Important One, it will define the fact that I'm more electable"

All the states decide the President Hillary, even the ones that aren't 100% "white hard working Americans". You know the majority of the states, full of white, black, yellow, brown, and red And guess what we all get to vote, even those who aren't white are hard working and we ALL are important and decide who's President.

As a minority, I owe a lot to West Virginia (in particular, WVU). I had all my education and skills that I remain proud of today.

But, I remain deeply disappointed in any state that would vote overwhelmy to send any Clinton back to the White House.

In particular, the Clintons have–
1. been impeached
2. lied consistently to the people of this nation
3. deep dark blood in their hands.

I do not hate the Clintons' I just do not see how they could be "moral leaders" of a nation like this one. God Bless West Virginians; I still love the state that raised me!

Even if she wins WV by 100%; they only have 28 delegates and if the polls are correct, if she wins by 43%; i.e 63% for Clinton and 37% for Obama. She will have 17 delegates to Obama's 11 delegates; Obama will make up the difference in superdelegates; since the election in NC, he have gotten 9 SD; he will get more before the WV.

Well, in General election, WV only contributes 4 electoral college votes; Obama can let McCain have them and he can easily make up for it else where.

We all know that, not everyone will vote for Obama; Even if Jesus comes today, not everyone will accept him; so stop CNN should stop thinking that it will be a big deal if WV did not vote for Obama.

In all these analysis, you guys forget that 90% AA that are not voting for Hillary or do you think if the nomination is stolen from Obama; the AA will kick it aside and vote for Hillary?

The last time I checked, the most reliable base of the democrats is the AA and if they refuse to vote for Hillary come November because of a perceived injustice, I do not see how she will get the nomination even with her blue collar advantage.

The truth is Obama & Clinton have divided the democrate base and each have a piece, with the other's cooperation and help, one of them is doom to fail come November. The other factor that is not being considered is Obama's attraction of new voters, it is very possible that new voters and huge voters turn-out might be the ones that will tilt the balance in this year's elections.

Hillary should run as an Independent. Her own party has betrayed her with idiotic rules such as don't count FL and Michigan even though we want their vote in November. Allocate delegates instead of use a normal winner take all approach that causes no problems. What we need is both Barack and Hillary, and I just pray that they will find a way to combine their talents to help the country through this dark age.

My concern is that there are too powerful of forces in the environment of today's politics such as the industrial lobbying machine and the religious extremists whose selfish issues drive their politics despite the 'burning of Rome' on all of the other more important issues, that will block any real positive change on the big issues. We are likely expecting too much from Barack and his ability to be all that we want him to be. In my 60 years, I have never felt before as I do today that our way of life is in such jeopardy. Bush has driven the US down the path of economic, political, environmental and moral destruction as never before, and his departure from power is overdue and cannot happen soon enough. January seems so far away. We have wasted 8 years in solving the core, fundamental problems with our economy, the environment, society and the world, and we desparately need change.

I remain optimistic (despite the pessimistic tone of my comments) that we will elect new leaders who will have the strength of conviction, the fortitude and the intelligence to lead us out of this wilderness.

I am a disabled vietnam era veteran and I do not understand has the country lost it's mind. Every legitimate statistic regarding this race shows Senator Clinton the only one to beat McCain and secure the majority of States. Like polls are always accurate anyway. I'll believe the 43% IF it happens. Besides, this was always a given for Clinton since before this thing started, just like NC was a given for Obama many months ago too. Plus, unlike the people running the Clinton campaign, I give the voters in WVA more credit for their intelligence and critical thinking skills. I am sure they will realize that when Obama is the nominee, that he will carry on much of the traditional issues and concerns that Clinton ALSO addresses. The idea of so many whites voting for Hillary Clinton is astonishing for so many reason. One, Barrack Obama has so much in common with the people of some the states. Barrack Obama was not born with a silver spoon in his mouth. Two, African American voted for Bill Clinton, Al gore, John Kerry without regards to whiteness. Third, black has never had a black successful candidate for president like Barrack so of course they going to vote for him higher numbers.

Recently Gallop revealed through its polling that Obama has the support of the same coalition of voters, namely, African-Americans and liberal intellectuals, that John Kerry had but lacks the support of white, blue-collar workers. If Kerry couldn't make that coalition work for him four years ago, why does Obama think that it will work for him now? It would be better to go with Clinton who has a broader base of support. W.Va. reflects a very specific type of voter concentrated in this particular state. They're no more important than any other demographic in winning the national election. Consequently, W. Va. isn't important specifically, just its type of voters; a demographic which is located throughout numerous areas in this country, along with many other necessary American voters..

Why such hatred against Mrs. Clinton from people who claim to be staunch Democrats? You are handing the presidency to McCain with this kind of vitriol. I agree with the premise that this contest should tell the Obama zealots that all is not what they believe. W Va. could very well be a harbinger of November. As for Hillary. It's over irregardless of the outcome.

The remaining primaries are simply an exercise in democracy to let everyone have their say, but everyone except Hillary knows and accepts this thing is over. The superdelegates are trickling toward the Obama camp, and that momentum won't be stopped by WV because there was no doubt in anyone's mind Hillary was going to take this state by a significant margin. Of course, she will use this as another futile argument to stay in the race. But hopefully she is just using this win as a way to go out on top and bow out gracefully.

What will WV mean once its over?

It will just mean 5 primaries are left before this thing is finally over.

While I know that the people from WV are very nice people, whoever wins this or any of the remaining primaries will not change the fact that Obama will have the most pledged delegates.

Enough trying to change the rules or the math or the game.

These rules and the math was agreed to by both parties before the primaries.

Also, whatever happens in the primaries does not really indicate who will win those states in the elections.

IF Hillary doesn't like the rules then she should join in reforming the rules for the future. Again, you can't change the rules once the game is close to over.

A Middle East policy adviser for Barack Obama has left the campaign after acknowledging having held talks with Hamas, FOX News confirms.

The Times newspaper in London first reported Friday that the campaign was severing ties with the adviser, Robert Malley.

Malley said he had been in contact with the Palestinian group, but only through his work for a “conflict resolution think tank,” and not on behalf of the Obama campaign, the newspaper reported.

Obama spokesman Bill Burton told FOX News Malley was “an ancillary adviser who never met with Obama, literally one of hundreds of informal advisers who from time to time offered advice on Middle East policy.”

Another Obama spokesman told The Times Malley “has no formal role in the campaign and he will not play any role in the future.”

Hamas, which is labeled a terrorist organization by the State Department, is a touchy issue for the Obama campaign.

Hamas adviser Ahmed Yousef said in a recent interview, “We like Mr. Obama, we hope that he will win the election,” and presumptive Republican nominee John McCain has poked fun at Obama for the apparent endorsement.

McCain has said he would be Hamas’ “worst nightmare”; he told “The Daily Show’s” Jon Stewart Wednesday that he could “guarantee” Hamas would not endorse him for president.

Obama accused McCain of “losing his bearings” and engaging in a smear campaign for the remarks.

It will not send a sobering message to Obama supporters. We know why he is not campaigning in this "red" state. It's important Hillary bow out gracefully and if she wins W. The majority of West Virginians are good people who are blue collar in every way. And if they look closer, they will see that Obama has a lot in common with them. He is a man who knows adversity, challenge, and poverty. He worked his way though college-with no wealthy family or connections to back him up. He worked hard and it apayed off. And wisely, he knew Iraq was a disaster in waiting, which shows he was much wiser than Bush or McCain and stood up for what he believed. He is where he is at today because of the man he made himself into-not because of his spouse. Obama is West Virginia and he is America. And he has my vote in November.

Nice spin CNN. Hillary winning West Virginia means absolutely nothing. The pulse of the country is not centered around a bunch of uneducated miners with almost no diversity in the state. Yes, she'll win. She'll win big and still won't make a dent in Obama's lead. Superdelegates will continue to trickle towards his campaign. Why not do something rare and just report the truth. She'll win West Virginia and Kentucky by large margins and it's too late to mean a single thing except that she gets to leave on the note that she got those votes.

It doesn`t mean anything, if Clinton wins with 40% (70-30)which is not that unlikely it means she would net around 12 delegates, that is a huge win but not enough at this point. She could probably win Kentucky with huge margins as well, probably not 40%, I think Obama will campaign harder in Kentucky since it is a bigger state. But still, if she wins with 40% she will net around 21 delegates. Thats 33 total which will cut Obamas total lead from around 165 to 132.
Obama will win Oregon the same day Kentucky votes and he will probably win with 15-20% which will net him 8-10 delegates, Clinton could win Puerto Rico with the same margin, giving her the same net delegate win (8-10).
So you could go in to the last two primaries with Obama ahead with around 130 in the pledged lead, but the problem for Clinton is that Obama will win Montana and South Dakota easily, probably with 15-20% which means Obama will win the pledged delegate lead with 135-140 if everything goes according to the polls.

Clinton would do well in WV if she exceeds expectations, but that means more than 40% win, which could be quite difficult. So, WV doesn`t mean that much since Clinton is expected to win big, to get some momentum should would need to win by more than expected.

So what. It is a big waste of time for Obama to spend more money and time in WV right now. He will have plenty of time to do that in the fall. Some of the comments are really going against Obamas message. Theres no need for name calling or bashing, it only brings us down to their level. Let's be the better people, and if that's "elitist", oh well. What's wrong with trying to make things the best they can be, "be all that you can be", haven't I heard that somewhere before. Excuse me, but why don't you just tell the truth about West Virginia? It is a unique state made up of less than 5% African-American folks, its white folks are poorly educated and poorly employed. The whole state is just made to order for the people Hillary has attracted all along. But they resist change just like the rest of the blue collar workers who refuse to listen to the call by young voters who see change as the most important deterrent to this mess created by Bush and his gang. It will mean that Hillary Clinton just had her best day remaining in the primary race and only gained a net of 12 delegates out of the 150 she is trailing. Obama picked up nearly that many in one day with superdelegates. It will show that the only demographic that Hillary is able to court now is the one the Democrats will not be able to count on in the fall.

Hillary can resign now or get "fired" later, but she can't win . . . with or without the Michigan and Florida delegates counted.

The last sentence of this article doesn't make a lot of sense. Obama should consider adding Clinton to his ticket to win West Virginia? It has 5 electoral votes. The main concern with Clinton, in a lot of voters minds, is her strong negative poll numbers. That could easily scar away plenty of voters to more than erase the WV delegation.

What a win in WV means, really, is another week of fund raising and Super Delegate wooing for Hillary. It means another week of comments on ticker articles along the lines of "she should just disappear" and "I'll vote for McCain before I vote for Obama". I'm kind of tired of the whole thing. I suspect that many of the people who post here are stoking the fire. The kind of people who show up to protests, not because they believe in the movement, but just to throw bricks through windows.

An important story within the North Carolina primary that is getting buried, is the North Carolina U.S. Senatorial race. In this competitive race an African American candidate Marcus W. Williams was defeated by a white woman candidate Kay R. Hagan. African Americans overwhelming voted for Hagan over Williams, at the same time they voted for Obama. This clearly suggest that African Americans do not merely vote on the basis of race otherwise Williams would have faired much better. Indeed, black and white North Carolinas recognized that Hagan"s stand on the issues were far better than Williams. They saw race and beyond it.

If Hillary takes the majority of the older, white conservative blue collar voters, that's wonderful for her. Same old, same old. However, Obama has brought out multitudes of new voters, young and old, black and white, and has inspired a new interest in our country and its future. I think that's much more remarkable and important to our country than getting the same historical voters and votes. I think it indicates that Americans are finally looking toward the future, instead of looking for what someone can promise them anything (but ultimately never deliver) in order to get their vote at that moment. New and inspired voters represent our future; older, white conservative voters dismiss the future and tend to go for old guard politics and old guard ideas. They are not the future; they are the past. Older, white conservative voters are but a small part of the people in this country. If Hillary wants to hang her hat on them, she should. She is one of them.

West Virginia doesn't mean anything at this point; it's a state tailor-made for Hillary's conservative side. Here's hoping that the media doesn't paint this as yet another "turning point" in the race, when everyone already knows that Clinton will win big here and it's changing no one's mind...the last thing we need is another fictional turning point.

This is something the super delegates should look at closely, a lot of voters want Clinton more...........let the process finish & count Florida & Michigan.

If you count FL & MI delegates then Clinton would have a delegate lead of 26 and then WV becomes much more important. Obama supporters are really wanting to play down how important these final states really are. I would not be surprised if the courts end up hearing a case about the FL & MI votes. After Obama's big win last week the media was ready to declare him the winner of this race? I think this will be decided for a long time.

John McCain is looking better and better every day. I really don't think either Obama or Clinton will beat him come Nov. This country tends to support Presidents who are in the opposite political party then what is in Congress. The results in the West Virginia primary means nothing. I support the Democratic party as a whole. I have not picked sides for the entirety of the primary. I did not vote in my primary as I am simply waiting for the nominee to emerge, and it's almost guranteed to be Obama. In order for Hillary to catch Barack's delegate total she must win roughly 85% of EVERY state, which is definitely impossible. I respect her choice to give everyone a chance to choose and stay in the primary to the end, but she has two chances to win, slim and none, and slim is packing his bags.

I have also found it quiite amusing to watch everyone who has been posting for the past few months. You all argue and fight over who is better and don't even notice that it's like a tennis match. It shows that a large group of democrats want HIllary Clinton to be our president, and that the campaign of hope and change doesn't have a chance in the general election. The Obama campaign has run the most negative campaign ever, with the help of the media. Hillary Clinton, one of the greatest champions of children's rights, women's rights and the rights of African Americans didn't suddenly become a racist hate monger. That is how the Obama campaign, the media, and most of all his supporters portrayed her. There are millions of democrats who will not vote for Obama because of this horrible destruction of one democrat by another democrat. His actions never matched his words, and people like Jack Cafferty and Roland Martin on CNN were on everyday destroying the character of Hillary Clinton. Anderson Cooper the other night even mocked a Hillary supporter on the air, I guess CNN has given up on journalism. Just read the posts here by Obama supporters, have you ever read such hate. It's going to be my goal between now and the general to show as many people as I can the pages and pages of posts here on CNN that I have printed out. These posts show people how hate filled the Obama campaign is, how racist it is, and how his supporters seem to endorse violence and hate to get him elected. My daughter in law is from West Virginia and she says there is no way they will vote for an african american man before Hillary. She believes the true democrats will vote for him in the general over McCain, but in the primary they are going to make their first choice Hillary due to the age and makeup of the state.

Luckily, there are not very many states like Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Kentucky and Tennessee that are left in the US or we would never get past the racial issues in this country.

Its funny how WV is a small state, and a red state, yet Clinton now insists that it actually does count!

It means nothing. He know that going into the primary for that state. People need to stop thinking that putting Clinton on Obama's ticket as VP is a good thing. All Obama needs to do in West Virginia is to point out that only he (and Sen Orrin Hatch) advocate removing the Social Security
Tax cap which would guarantee Social Security forever! Hillary has resisted the idea because she and Bill have too many rich friends.
Only he has set forth a plan to give $1,000 Tax cut to lower and middle income America.
Only he has resisted NAFTA, and not campaigned for it vigorously from its inception, as Hillary has done.
It is ridiculous to suggest as Hillary maintains, that she has been an enthusiastic champion of middle income America.
It is Obama who worked as a community organizer in Chicago, helping lower and middle income Americans to pull themselves up out of poverty, and received national recognition for it. Hillary has nothing like that in her resume.
And being brought up in Lake Forest, Illinois, is not being a part of middle income America.

The results from West Virginia will be irrelevant. Obama has already locked up the nomination, and we already know that he doesn't do well among supporters of Sen. Clinton. But Obama could put other states in play (e.g. Colorado) that normally vote Republican, and he's also attracted many new voters. He may not win the election, but I think it's time that Democrats tried a different strategy and gave up trying to out-Republican the Republicans.

A win in West Virginia, regardless of the margin means absolutely nothing. The overall spread is too great and its too late in the primary season. The States demographics are custom made for her, just like some of the other States were custom made for Obama. The primaries in all of those States refelcted that.

WV & KY will offer Hillary an opportunity to exit on a high note. Hillary and the media will magnify the significance of 4 ECV in the fall to overwhelming significance. Hillary will have a week to argue that she is more electable. Obama will likely have a majority of the pledged delegates after Oregon and will continue to campaign against McCain until the superdelegates put him over the top by June 6th at the latest.

Why is it that Sen. Clinton is the only one that needs to do the math? The way things are going now, she will not have the 2025 delegte votes needed to win her party's nomination on the first ballot. But, the way things are going now, neither will Sen. Obama have the 2025 delegate votes needed to win his party's nomination on the first ballot. So why doesn't CNN and the rest of the media hop all over Obama and ask why is he still running, what is his exit strategy, why can't he do the math, and so forth and so on?

CNN seems to think that it is a case of the candidate with the most votes winning the Democratic nomination. Totally wrong. It is a case of the candidate with 2025 delegate votes winning the Democratic nomination. That will not happen on the first vote taken at the convention. After that first vote, in which neither candidate wins, the pledged delegates become unpledged and can vote for whomever they please. And they will. It will become a free-for-all. With her expected big wins in West Virginia and Kentucky, Clinton will have a good chance at winning more total votes among the general public than Obama, and she will try to use that to sway delegates to vote for her on the 2nd and 3rd ballots. If, after a few convention votes take place and neither candidate has gone over the top with the required 2025 delegate votes, the delegates will start considering compromise canditates, such as Al Gore.

Don't expect to learn any of this by watching CNN.

Even if she wins 100% it still won't help her towards becoming the nominee. If she cares about the future of the democratic party and of Obama's chances at becoming the next president over McCain then she needs to drop out before West Virginia.

Perhaps, when she loses her job as New York Senator, she can get a job as Senator from West Virginia, representing the people who she seems most closely-aligned with in philosophy and outlook.

Apparently, older, socially conservative, less educated, non-black blue-collar workers are a scary bunch of critters..... and 70% of them in WV have a gun. Yikes! Sounds like the Appalachians are the great divide for racism. Virginia didn't have such a problem in giving Obama a win. Hill Billy must have a nice ring to it in WV.

Hillary can use WV and Kentucky as feel good states for her and make the descent of her campaign plane more comfortable. She can then put on her coal miner outfit and stump the states to win them for Obama iin the fall - ha ha - fat chance as there will not be much in it for her then.

If I were a West Virginian, I would be incensed with my persona being labeled as "uneducated", "those who did not attend college", and so on, proclaiming to the world at large that 66% of my state belongs to this category!

It would be bad enough that the Newsmedia were creating this label as it analysed the demographics of my nation and found this statement to be true.

It would be infinitely worse that someone who wanted my vote would define me as uneducated and driven by my closedminded inability to absorb and become part of the world at large – or even the mosaic of my country, America! I would consider that the candidate was insulting me – implying that if it wasn't for my lack of education, my ability to analyse not being present, this candidate could easily hoodwink me into voting for them.

If I was American, I would be ashamed that in the world's largest superpower a single state could hold this large a percentage of its population unable to grow with the advanced strides that humanity has made as it hurtles off to conquer new worlds. This would not be something I would want to parade day in and day out in the news.

I would want West Virginians to hold all their traditions dear and gain from education in this current age!

As a Canadian onlooker it is good to see that you as a country can elect a woman or a black man. You have come a long way America. Hopefully, you will be able to say that your people are educated, that your people are healthy, that your people have ideals, dignity, and integrity and that you truly are a just society.

This will happen someday, if not today or tomorrow.

This just shows that outside the black community Obama has minimal support. He only goy 1/3rd of the white vote in his 'blowout' in NC. Blacks make up 12% of overall voters. They always vote Democratic anyway, so Obama as a candidate doesn't bring any new demographics to the table. McCain will appeal to the mainstream voters and independents much more than Bush ever did. He'll get the conservative vote, because they have no other tolerable choice. He'll get a lot of the Reagan Democrats. Unless the Dems nominate someone with broader appeal (i.e. Clinton), they will be toast in Nov. If it's one thing the Democratic Party excels at, it's snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. They always default to the most liberal choice, and most Americans aren't that liberal.

If this is a reflection of a significant part of American voters, then Obama's supporters should avoid confronting them, otherwise the former may be absebt or vote for MCain in the election

Even for statistical purposes, she couldn't say either, that after WV she got the biggest beating in the race, since Obama has beaten her by much higher margins IN A GREAT NUMBER OF STATES, for example in Idaho she beat her 80 to 17 (63-point lead); in Hawaii it was 76 to 24; in D.C. it was 75 to 24; inj Kansas 74 to 26, to only mention a few. Even though it would be her highest-percentage beating over bama ever, IT DOESN'T MEAN MUCH REALLY, AND THE MEDIA SEEMS TO AGAIN BE GIVING HER TOO MUCH IMPORTANCE AND KEEPING HER IN THE RACE IN ORDER TO KEEP HIGH RATINGS, that's all.

West Virginia kows that she will not win the nomination even the result is 100 to 0. They are clever people and they dont want to swim in a dry river. They will go to Obama.

When low income, uneducated African Americans ( the black equivilent of blue-collar white workers) support Obama- that is a good thing, and not racist (even at 90-95% rates).

When low income, uneducated African Americans ( the black equivilent of blue-collar white workers) support Obama- that is a good thing, and not racist (even at 90-95% rates).

When low income, uneducated white Americans ( the so-called blue collar workers) vote for Clinton at rates of 60-65% it is considered racist.

Can someone explain this double standard to me?

Let's not forget they're also mostly white. Just like North Carolina is mostly black. Why is the "race issue" the pink elephant in the room that you Democrats refuse to address? I suppose it wouldn't be politically correct, would it? It's going to be fun to sit back and watch your party implode.

Whatever happens,Obama must go and campaign in West Virginia.
Otherwise he'll be criticized for not caring for the small states after he's sealed the deal..his most wins has come from small states..so he must show up there..

1.) 43 points was the result of the latest ARG poll. It was 15 points the time before that. The polls have been WILDLY fluctuating in WV, indicating it is unlikely they mean anything. Still, Clinton *WILL* take the state....

2.) It will mean nothing. 28 delegates are stake. She is behind significantly more than that. Even if she pulls off a 40 point lead and gets most of the delegates, it is too little too late.

Obama will win Oregon, Montana and South Dakota.

Obama will continue to pick up more superdelegates than Clinton.

Michigan and Florida will be settled and she will pick up about 20 more delegates than Obama.

With this, she can not catch him in pledged delegates and the Superdelegates will confirm his appointment before she and McCain have a chance to destroy him further.

Then Obama will pick John Edwards as his vice-presidential candidate which will help Obama win white rural voters in Pennsylvania, Ohio, North Carolina, Kentucky, Virginia, West Virginia, Arkansas, Tennessee, Texas, etc.

Obama supporters are going to wake up and realize on November 5th that blacks, college students and hard left radicals are the only ones who voted for him!

In short, West Virgina is a bastion of cavemen. We are in 21st century but if they are stuck in time they would vote for McCain. I cannot find one reason why a Democrat would not vote for Obama other than racism and vote for McCain so that we remain in Iraq for 100 yrs and jobs shipped to overseas. Those Dems would be voting against their interest. But again, if one is stuck in 16th century anything can happen at the polling box.

In short – it means nothing. As a democrat, I'm willing to part with WV's five electoral votes, in order to have a candidate that is more than the lesser of two evils.

Hillary can milk her racist white base in WV and KY, and then what? The people have spoken. Hillary should concede and then start immediately sucking up to Obama and the party. Personally, I think she's a horrible choice for V.P., but that really is her last shot – Hillary '16. I think she'll be 69 (ha)

I'd like to see a poll of who people would vote for if all three candidates ran for President of the United States: Obama (Democrat), McCain (Republican) and Clinton (Independent).

Although I have never lived in West Virginia I have traveled and worked extensively in state. I am acutely aware of the reason there are few African-Americans there. This state is 100 years behind all others in many areas. If Hillary wins West Virginia as expected I would say it was because her temperment was a close match for the people who live there.

West Virginia is important to the democratic party. Every state is important in the big picture. In the current race between Obama and Clinton (which is over by the way), this state is worth 26 delegates. She is spending all of her hard earned money on this state and will likely net a total of 10 delegates. He still leads pledged delegates by 150+.

Obama announced 6 superdelegates yesterday. This in itself erases the benefit in delegates that she will gain from West Virginia. More superdelegates will follow.

So bottom line is that a state that is one of the oldest and lacks social progression is obviously a great state for Hillary. It is 95% plus caucasian and lots of those rural folks won't vote for a black man. Period. So should those value reflect the values of the democratic party as a whole? I don't think so but everyone has an opinion.

If she wins by 44%, then she will only gain 10 delegates because he will get around 8 and she will get around 19. That is soooo small given the demographics in the area, the amount of money she is spending (which by the way her campaign is broke) and there are only two other contests up ahead where she will likely win....Kentucky and Puerto Rico (which has more delegates than New Hamphsire or Kentucky for some weird reason b/c Puerto Rico does NOT get votes in the general election....c'mon Howard Dean).

It will mean she will keep crowing about how she is the only one who can win "hard working" uh "white hard working" American voters. That just isn't true. Obama didn't get here with just the black vote. I am a hard working w/woman who strongly supports Obama.

It means this women is a NUT, and she is trying to DESTROY the Democratic Party. The Clintons' have NO SHAME.....NONE!!!!!

Question..... Hillary has ridden on the coat tails of her husband's presidency. Obama, a virtually unknown, has ridden on hope and inspiration and carries a little more than half of the country. Why is that she could not close the deal?

I'm writing here because CNN closed their forum on a previous article related to West Virginia and the upcoming primary but I find it so offensive that because Hillary Clinton is up considerably in West Virginia that it means we (West Virginians) are obviously inbreed, redneck, and racist. Because we are voting for Hillary Clinton by a majority, many Obama supporters are blogging that we hunt from the back of pick up trucks and attend klan rallies...its so degrading...we cannot vote for Hillary just because we want to apparently...I am a 23 year old graduate student getting my masters in English Education and I was raised by a registered nurse and a coal miner. I come from a family of hard workers who have enstilled me with good morals that are not racist or redneck. I find it so offensive that when my state gets a say, many people in the United States play up on a stereotype which is so offensive...I know Sen. Obama isn't making these comments but I find it offensive that he's not working to win votes here...and I don't appreciate many of his supporters degrading myself or Appalachian heritage.
