Hillary Clinton's win in WV IS a record. NO ONE can take away her victory! As for me, she deserves the nomination like anyone I've EVER watched during the primaries. If the CNC steals the nomination for Obama (discounting the votes she received in FL and MI) -- I WILL WRITE IN HER NAME ON THE NOVEMBER BALLOT. PERIOD! NO OBAMA FOR ME -- EVER!

Nice speech, but I fear it's a bit too late for Hillary. However, something unexpected may happen and she might be the nominee. I think she should keep fighting.

Either way, I think this 'I'm going to vote for McCain' talk will go against what HRC expressed in her speech tonight. You Clinton supporters might want to listen the person you SAY you support. She does not want the Democratic party to lose in the general, whether she's the nominee or whether Obama is. Voting for McCain will go against everything your candidate is for.

However, if that's too complicated for you (to not stab your cadidate in the back if she loses the nomination), I can understand how voting for McCain instead of Obama might make sense to you. *dripping with sarcasm* *rolls eyes*

Go Obama!!!

1916....that's a number to remember...the only year in which a Democrat won the White House without winning W.V.

I hope the super delegates wake up because in their dizzy dance to justify Obama's nomination (which relied up activists in caucus states that DON'T vote Democratic in the GE...activists that almost NEVER reflect the popular will) are going to give this election to the repugs.

Stupid...the DNC's nomination plan is simply stupid. And really, if they don't fully seat Michigan and Florida...it will be a BIG win for the republicans.

$50 dollars you better ask for your money back...LOL!

The Florida and Michigan argument is getting old. The DNC will allocate those delegates in a fair way, split 50/50, then what does the Clinton camp have.

HELLO...WAKE UP!

I can't wait for Senator Obama and his family to move into the White House next year...

Nothing worse than hearing false hope from all of these delusional people. I feel sorry for you all.

And she is only set to win approximately 115,000 of the voting edge over Obama. I don't think she can overtake him in the popular vote, which spells doom for her. Not that Hillary Clinton knows how to spell any better than she can do math.

This is not an unexpected result…record or not, it further highlights the divisions within the Democratic Party that previously remained hidden until this historic primary. The party has a lot of work ahead of them. Hopefully they can reunite for the general election or overwhelm the negative aspects within our nation, and build a new coalition with those who truly want to move forward and bring about real change to business as usual on capital hill.

cnn you are always dissing Clinton and talking about how inspiring Obama is but i get inspired by her message of hope and breaking the barriers for women. You don't seem to understand that, but her speeches make me misty eyed thinking HOW GREAT IT IS THAT WE FINALLY HAVE A VIABLE WOMAN CANDIDATE. I never knew how the mainstream media is so male dominated until I've watched your ceaseless under appreciation of Clinton.

I hope all of you get jobs working in Obama's administration--I nominate Anderson Cooper for press secretary! Like, see ya!

Then I won't have to listen to all of your one sided coverage!

How can you say its Clinton or McCain. They have absolutely no policies in common at all. Now Clinton and Obama share the same position on almost every policy. So once again I ask, How can you say its either Clinton or McCain. They have nothing in common except for there skin color. So is that why Obama lost you OBAMA LOST US. Looking at exit polls from a clearly racist state really doesnt tell you anything except that they are a racist state. Now not everybody in WV is racist, but Im willing to guess that at least 20% of her vote was just that, RACIST. Obama couldve campaigned there for months and spent millions of dollars and he probably still couldnt have done any better than maybe a 60%-40% split. She probably won every demographic in the state except for the black vote. She hasnt done that in anyother state, so what does that tell you.

Hillary wins what counts: OH, PA, and FL.... w/o these states, the Democratic nominee can't win

Hillary wins the demographics that are needed to beat McCain: Catholics, Jews, Hispanics, blue-collar workers, and white women (the largest voting bloc of the Dem primary)

So far Obama has reached or exceeded 70 percent in five contests: the DC primary (75 percent), and the caucuses in Alaska (75 percent), Hawaii (76 percent), Idaho (79 percent), and Kansas (74 percent).

I think its great Hillary won West Virginia, as she was supposed to do...I think its great she is still in the election fighting for ever last vote, and I think its great that Democracy works well in this country...

That being stated, the end is near, and I hope she can mend fences with Barack Obama, and that she may one day either be the VP, or on Baracks Cabinet...

I just hope over these next few weeks she can be civil, and that she realizes that the fight allbeit a good one, is in fact over...

(yes I am a Obama Supporter), but I also support democracy, and Hillary's right to go till the end...she has waged a great political campaign, and she vetted Barack very well....which only makes us Democrats stronger!!..

Obama 08'

Democrats 08'!!!

Hillery, Hillery, Hillery - why can't you get the African American vote? There is only one black person in the audience. This is something you need to improve on in the next few races. West Virginia seems to be a very racist state - whites vote for whites. Please remember Hillery supporters - if they steal this nomination from Barack Obama, we will not vote for Hillery either. I for one will stay home.

Ths was all for naught and will probably divide the party because she is stringing her supporters along with her rhetoric. She would have to get 85% of the superdelegates, win the rest of the primaries with a 60% edge. So tonight was for what 20 pledged delagates. With Obama's 8 and the superdelegates he got this week, NO GAIN TONIGHT.

Obama..

No you can't, no you won't. You will lose in November. This should be about who can win in November. You can't.. I will not vote for you as will soooo many others.

I'm a Hillary supporter who refuses to vote for Obama because he is the LEAST qualified to be President. I don't vote for someone simply because they belong to this party or the other or because they give nice speeches. Obama is an empty box. When November comes it will be a repeat of 2004 where every Democrat thought Kerry would beat Bush because no one liked Bush. Or so we thought??? Remember that come November it's not just the African American population or one half of the Democrats voting. It will be the conservatives, Republicans, independents, and oh.. Hillary supporters who refuse to vote for Obama because being President shouldn't be about popularity but more so experience, ideas, and the drive to get things done. None of which Obama has. For all my fellow Hillary supporters out there who aren't voting for Obama you have one of three options.
1) Write Hillary Clinton in as a write in the voting booth
2) Don't vote at all
3) Vote for John McCain.

Either of those is better then voting for someone to go into the White House with all the problems Bush created only to create more because he HAS NO CLUE!

Hillary 08 or McCain! NOBAMA!

Experience over the Audacity of Inexperience!

You don't speak to the people you speak to the demographic of the day. I don't trust Hillary, and I am tired of your ways. I will not vote for you, I wll write Obama in.

Clinton's winning right now by 33 percentage points. That's big. But in District of Columbia Obama won by 50 percentage points. That was bigger. What matters more is, Obama's way ahead in delegates. He started the day with a lead of 173, and WV will reduce his lead by only about 8. Bottom line - Obama will still get the nomination by a tidy margin.

As for indications Obama might have trouble with white voters . . . no, it means he might have trouble with the least educated, least sophisticated white voters. That's hardly an argument in favor of switching to McCain or Clinton.

Obama cannot win in the general election without Hillary. She must be at least his running mate if not the nominee.

You can see the impact of Operation Chaos clearly in WV: 35% of HRC voters say they will vote for McCain.

These are not Democrats. Democrats will not vote to overturn Roe v. Wade, to keep our troops in Iraq for 100 years (yes, this is what he said), to continue running up the debt and ruining the economy.

Don't forget that Obama had landslide wins as well - like Nebraska. Regardless of the win, the end result remains unchanged - Clinton cannot catch Obama.
