Exit polls: West Virginia voters want Democratic race to continue

ALT TEXT

(CNN) - Despite a week of intense media speculation about whether Hillary Clinton will drop out of the race for the Democratic nomination, early exit polling in today's West Virginia Democratic primary shows 70 percent of the voters would prefer the campaign to continue. Only 25 percent say the campaign should end as soon as possible.

Why wouldn't they want it to continue? WV is leaning heavily towards Clinton. It definitely DOES NOT reflect the opinions of the rest of the US. I bet you'd find a much different result if you polled all the rest of the states on whether they think the contest should go on. Don't let WV speak for the rest of us.

I don't get why the media lately has been acting like WV is important. The state isn't even close to relevant. They're on another planet down there.

West Virginia is absolutely correct in voting to continue the race because Hillary is the best candidate. Another reason is because the DNC has created a big dung pile with Florida and Michigan. If anyone has divided the party it has been the DNC and the media. Put the blame where it belongs!

Since Bill Clinton won this state twice and Hilliary is his wife, she should win big. If the shoe was on the other foot and the same number of white voters were black, the results would be the same for Obama. A TRUE Democrat will vote Democrat regardless who is the nominee. If not you get what you desire, four more years of Bush.

@ tell the truth.....You're right – BUT I survived 8 years of Bush, I can easily survive 4 years of McCain so that Hillary can run again in 2012 if she doesn't make it this time......

    I say NOBAMA.

I don't understand how the Clinton camp can still expect to win this race. They have argued that if or when votes from the Michigan and Florida primaries are counted, Hillary would have a real shot at the nomination. I'm sorry, but how can you possibly count those votes when Obama's name wasn't even on the ballot in Michigan and he didn't campaign in Florida? Those who are pro-Hillary would claim that this is his fault, but if it was understood before voting that they absolutely WOULD NOT COUNT, why wouldn't Obama step back? I feel sorry for the sick dog that Clinton campaign has become.

    Dear Friends and Relatives:

We have the distinguished honor of being on the committee to raise $5,000,000.00 for a monument of Hillary Clinton's heroic stand under Bosnian sniper fire. We originally wanted to put her on Mt. Rushmore until we discovered there was not enough room for two more faces.

We then decided to erect a statue of Hillary Clinton in the Washington, DC Hall Of Fame. We are having a bit of difficulty as to where the statue should be placed. It was not proper to place it beside the statue of George Washington, who never told a lie, or beside Jesse Jackson & John McCain, who never told the truth, since Hillary Clinton could never tell the difference.

We finally decided to place it beside Christopher Columbus, the greatest Democrat of them all. He left not knowing where he was going, and when he got there he did not know where he was. He returned not knowing where he had been, and did it all on someone else's money.

If you are one of the fortunate people who have anything left after taxes, we expect a generous contribution to this worthwhile project. Won't you please help?

    Thank you,
    Hillary Clinton Monument Committee

P.S. The Committee has raised $1.35 so far. > >

P.P.S And another thing... Now let me get this straight. Bill Clinton is getting $12 million for his memoirs. His wife Hillary got $8 million for hers. That's $20 million for memories from two people, who for eight years repeatedly testified, under oath, that they couldn't remember anything. God Bless America!

Thank you W. Virginia Obama supporters!

    It took guts!

I am a white female and have been on the not so pleasant end of the horrible racist comments numerous times because I support a black man. Even from my own family. HOWEVER,We shall overcome....so smile and think about how much better our world will be once Barack is President and know that it was because we had true vision and love in our hearts.

If Obama wins the democratic party is going to commit suicide!!! He will NEVER win against Mccain in November. He has no experience and he will not be able to win over democrats who want someone who KNOWS what they're doing running the country, I'm sorry but after two terms of Bush we CANNOT afford to have our country being run by a rookie! We need to get out of a war fix the economy, and education find a better source of fuel, bring our jobs back and create peace around the world these things cannot be accomplished with wishful thinking! WAKE UP AMERICA!!!! OUR CHILDREN'S FUTURES DEPEND ON THIS!!!!!

The Obama campaign doesn't have to play any type of race card. The truth was represented by some people who admitted that they would not vote for a black man. So even Colin Powell wouldn't have won over these so-called "colorblind" and "fair" individuals. It's sad that Hillary can use these peoples prejudice to her advantage.

Of course they want it to continue. They would do anything to keep Senator Obama from being the winner. Birds of a feather do flock together. I wish there had been more people not like Hillary in West Virginia. This is still a sad world. It:'s a bad wind that never changes.

    GL,
We do know better, we voted for Hillary! Obama's hate filled supporters alienate Hillary supporters so please keep it up. The more OBAMA supporters run their fat mouths the more votes McCain will get in Nov.

Exit polls: CNN wants Democratic race to continue

(and consequently paints the primary to be closer than it is, as if it were actually mathematically possible for Hillary to win.)

To Holly and the other ignorant Americans crying racism... just shut up and go home....

West Virginia is a big state for hunting and the NRA. Obama has a double standard on the second amendment where he says he's for it, yet constantly voted against it and supports anti-gun groups.

The people of West Virginia do not trust him, so that's why he is losing. It's that simple.

Yes, there may be voters that are racist, but that's in all forms of life for a variety of things and has no effect on anything.

Wake up and think for yourselves for once.

    Paul Lewis,
We care about West Virginia because it is a state in the USA.
We care about everyone, not just whites, blacks, latinos, men women, rich, poor, educated, uneducated.

We care because we are a union.

Obama supporters are oh so mean.
Get a better understanding on Democracy, it is all inclusive.

If you hate, can you judge someone else?

West Virginia voters want the White House to remain white. But the popular vote has gone to Obama, so CLEARLY the country's racist are sitting together in a clump. I wonder if their racism has anything to do with how badly they are doing in household income, the economy and jobs. LOL

I love it! And I love all these closet racists who claim they feel Clinton would be the best candidate. She's the one with the worst budget shown. She's the one who has proven herself dishonest. She's the one who has double talked and been manipulative. She's the one who didn't have the foresight to plan beyond the initial Super Tuesday. She's the one who changed her position on the war right before she came out to run for president. She's the one who was fine with disenfranchising Florida and Michigan voters until she fell behind and needed them.

Yet, they feel she is the best thing for our country. They trust her! Right! Just be honest; you HRC supporters would rather have a lying, manipulative, incompetent, unprepared, user than a Black man.

You can't win and if you vote for McCain you only prove yourselves to be racist. McCain stands against all Hillary stands for. To vote for someone so polar opposite only shows that you aren't looking at her policies and principles...you are looking at her pigmentation.

If this campaigne continues, the Dems are digging their own graves. It is a waste of money and time to allow this to continue. Moreover when Hillary keep uneccesary attacks. She better attack McCain than obama. But is unfortunate she has attacked Obama more than McCain have atttack Obama. She better loan the party than to loan her dying campaigne. She better stop and campaigne for the Dem Party than herself. I wonder if she will campaigne for the Dem as she has for her campaigne.
