McCain, who has been the subject of several SNL sketches this season, will appear on the show this weekend.

(CNN) - John McCain is known to tell a joke from time to time, but how will the Arizona senator stand up next to comedian Steve Carell?

McCain is slated to appear on Saturday Night Live this weekend, during which Carell will play host, a McCain aide confirms to CNN.

The aide says the presumptive Republican presidential nominee will head to New York Saturday to rehearse for his role, though it remains unclear exactly what part he will play.

McCain hosted the comedy sketch show himself in 2002.

Democrats Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton have also made appearances on the show this year.

This is really pathetic. I will be better for McCain to be himself that to be someone he's not. His singing was horrible just like how I see his presidiency to be. Barack Obama is the real deal.

If you vote for McCain, please do not complain when you start spending 90% of your income on gas and food.

It's interesting on how Barack is not to be taken seriously for not taking W. Va when Hillary has not taken none of the following:

    Iowa
    South Carolina
    Alabama
    Alaska
    Colorado
    Connecticut
    Delaware
    Democrats Abroad
    Georgia
    Idaho
    Kansas
    Minnesota
    North Dakota
    Utah
    Nebraska
    Washington
    Maine
    Wisconsin
    Wyoming
    Vermont
    Mississippi
...no need to go on, I think we get the point.

It's time for the democratic supporters on both sides to
grow up. This is shameful for me a young independent supporter
of the democratic party to feel like I'm in a Republican/Democratic
race already. This is tasteless and you people should understand
by supporting McCain shows the obvious bigotry that rest in many of your hearts. It's not about not supporting Obama because he's a liar or lack of experience, (if that's the case –Hillary?) and you all know it. It's more than that and I'm not ashamed to say it, the democrats have just the same amount of racist bigots as the republicans. If not more. Please people show the young leaders that we have a process to abide by and respect for our Country. We look like idiots fighting for the same seat to bring better to us as Americans. Enough already! Please!

I've got a couple of good skits for McCain and SNL. Please show him fighting alongside Teddy and the Rough Riders since he must have battle scars from that era, and please do the skit of McCain discovering electricity with Benjamin Franklin since he must have lighting burns from that experience too. Maybe SNL can also show McCain helping his mother sew the U.S. Flag with Betsy Ross. The only person older than McCain is his mother. That's why he's always having his picture made with her. Unfortunately, not even his mother can make him look young. The guy has got a couple of centuries of experience under his belt; he is, after all, old. Heck! McCain was probably a grandfather when George H. was born.

A funny thing happend to John McCain on the way to the general election. The Democrats failed to nominate their shoo-in candidate, Senator Clinton, and instead opted for the slick talking but totally inexperienced Obama, which led to a runaway winning election for Senator McCain.

You better enjoy your last few days out of the sights of the Obama machine and the media, McSame!

Obama's gonna clean Mcsames clock, when he can finally focus on his republican opponent, instead of constantly having to shake off that yippy little ankle-biter.

Republican general election machine? Hah!! If they think those dated, old-school Karl Rove tactics are gonna work in 2008, then it just proves how irrelavent they've become.

McSame better get ready...there's a frieght train called Obama headed right for him!!

  16. Wake Up America

Look at the democratic fools lining up for VP. Here are a few possible tickets:

    Obama/Hamas 2008

    Obama/Rev Wright 2008

    Obama/Ayers 2008

    Obama/Sharpton 2008

Let's go. Rally around these potential running mates. Obama's wife is anti american, his pastor is a racist and anti american, his friends support terror and are racist. Do you think he is any different? How diverse is your group of friends and family? You hang with people who are just like you. Look at who Obama has been hanging with all these years to figure out who he is like..

    WAKE UP AMERICA

Vote for someone who has shown that he loves this country and is Proud to be an American. Johh McCain.

    McCain is a loser.

I am confused by Hillary supporters who indicate they will vote for McCain if Obama gets the Dem. nomination! Are you folks not Democrats!!?? Would you really prefer to cut off your nose just to spite your face?

McCain is not an independent! He is a Bush Republican! He has sold out any "maverick inclinations" in him to pander to the right-wing conservative base of the Republicans. His reversal on the tax cuts, his speech on appointing conservative judges, his denial of not having voted for Bush, etc. all speak to this pandering.

Obama is a black man running for president. He has received Secret Service protection earlier than any other candidate in history. His life, his wife's life and the lives of their two daughters are being threatened every day. Would not only a patriot go through this!?

Don’t Obama and Hillary agree on most major issues!?

Thus, the questions become: Are you more racist than Democrat!?
Are you more racist than pro choice!? Are you more racist than anti-tax cuts for the rich!?

Aw c'mon, gang, just let him have a laugh or two. Politics is humorless enough. While the candidates say really funny things, it's usually not intentional. There's nothing wrong with a sense of humor...

McCain is the only one of the three with a sense of humor. He is self-deprecating, witty and the least pompous.

Why is there such venom in this election?

If you don't like a candidate, don't vote for him or her. Leave it at that.

Why is debate dying in America. If someone has a different view of America, they are not evil, vile or destroying democracy. They simply have a different view. The responses on blogs, chat rooms and forums during the primaries has been focused on solely on the negative.

Hillary Clinton. Barack Obama, John McCain.

These three have done far more for your country than all of you.

So if you don't like them......DON'T VOTE FOR THEM, but remember their comittment to America in the past should never be summarily dismissed simply because you want "your candidate" to win.

Act like adults, deserving of the greatness of your nation, not like petulant children who didn't get their way.

Hillary may be regretting her appearance now that SNL has painted a slightly less rosy picture of her. Of course candidates need to reach particular audiences but they might want to take a closer look at the source before doing so.
