(CNN) - John McCain is known to tell a joke from time to time, but how will the Arizona senator stand up next to comedian Steve Carell?
McCain is slated to appear on Saturday Night Live this weekend, during which Carell will play host, a McCain aide confirms to CNN.
The aide says the presumptive Republican presidential nominee will head to New York Saturday to rehearse for his role, though it remains unclear exactly what part he will play.
McCain hosted the comedy sketch show himself in 2002.
Democrats Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton have also made appearances on the show this year.

This is really pathetic. I will be better for McCain to be himself that to be someone he's not. His singing was horrible just like how I see his presidiency to be. Barack Obama is the real deal.

I've got a couple of good skits for McCain and SNL. Please show him fighting alongside Teddy and the Rough Riders since he must have battle scars from that era, and please do the skit of McCain discovering electricity with Benjamin Franklin since he must have lighting burns from that experience too. Maybe SNL can also show McCain helping his mother sew the U.S. Flag with Betsy Ross. The only person older than McCain is his mother. That's why he's always having his picture made with her. Unfortunately, not even his mother can make him look young. The guy has got a couple of centuries of experience under his belt; he is, after all, old. Heck! McCain was probably a grandfather when George H. was born.

A funny thing happend to John McCain on the way to the general election. The Democrats failed to nominate their shoo-in candidate, Senator Clinton, and instead opted for the slick talking but totally inexperienced Obama, which led to a runaway winning election for Senator McCain.

If you don't like a candidate, don't vote for him or her. Leave it at that.
Why is debate dying in America. If someone has a different view of America, they are not evil, vile or destroying democracy. They simply have a different view. The responses on blogs, chat rooms and forums during the primaries has been focused on solely on the negative.

These three have done far more for your country than all of you.
So if you don't like them......DON'T VOTE FOR THEM, but remember their comittment to America in the past should never be summarily dismissed simply because you want "your candidate" to win.

Hillary may be regretting her appearance now that SNL has painted a slightly less rosy picture of her. Of course candidates need to reach particular audiences but they might want to take a closer look at the source before doing so.
