Hillary Clinton chokes up in CNN interview

CNN

Watch a clip of Wolf Blitzer's interview with Sen. Clinton.

WASHINGTON (CNN) – Hillary Clinton choked up Wednesday as she told CNN's Wolf Blitzer that her daughter's presence on the campaign trail had been one of the "most incredibly gratifying experiences of my life."

"Well, it's one of the most incredibly gratifying experiences of my life, as a person and as a mother. I get very emotional," she said. "She is an exceptional person, and she's worked so hard, and she's done such a good job that I'm just filled with pride every time I look at her.

"Obviously, we are very close. We are in communication all the time. But she is doing this because she believes I'd be a good president, but also because she cares so much about our country's future. She did grow up in the White House. She knows what a difference a president makes. If anybody ever doubted what difference a president makes, after seven years of George Bush, I think the doubts should be put to rest.

"So she's doing it because she's my daughter, but she's doing it because, as she says, she's a young American who cares about our future."

Chelsea Clinton, who has been a constant presence on the trail this cycle, was in Puerto Rico Wednesday in advance of the territory's June 1 primary.

Watch Wolf Blitzer's interview with Hillary Clinton at 4 and 6 p.m. ET on CNN's The Situation Room.

Looks like her acting coach has taught her well. Or did she learn this from her "husband." We rememeber all too well the Clinton presidency madam. The Vince Foster "isssue" Travel Gate and your attempt to destroy people that ended up costing taxpayers because of your illegal and corrupt actions. Whiteater and the people indicted and charged from you and your husband's administration. The failure of your health care fisaco. Waco, Ruby Ridge, the failure to do anyhting against islamic extremists, your beleif in the vast right wing conspiracy when we all knew immedialtely that your husband AGAIN was having an affair. The settlement with Paula Jones, the intimaidation you used against Juanita Broderick when she was about to press charges against your husband for raping her. The pardons. Eight years of you and Bill's lies, obfuscations, are the reason why you will never enter the White House.

The crying is for herself, as she realizes that all of her advantages and the gift wrapped platter she thought she was owed, i.e. the Democratic nomination, are now just part of her own delusional fantasy.

People – STOP being so nasty to Hillary Clinton! If you had raised a daughter who seems as nice and well-adjusted as Chelsea Clinton, and she was out there working hard for you every day, you would feel pride as well!!!

I'm not even a Clinton supporter, but enough is enough! This woman has worked incredibly hard to run a campaign for the most important office in the land and YOU OWE HER SOME RESPECT.

She should be crying over the families who have lost loved ones to sniper fire. She should be crying for the men, women, and children of those that face that REAL threat every day. At least Chelsae is safe.

Here we go again...it worked in New Hampshire, maybe it will work for the remaining primaries.

When will Sen. Clinton begin to consider what's best to get a Democrat into the White House, and concede? To think that this continued rivalry between her and Sen. Obama is healthy (now that we are in May) is ridiculous.

It feels like de ja vu. Didn't she do this crying thing before, wasn't it New Hampshire? GOD she is disgusting! Using her own daughter to draw sympathy. Sorry lady, we're not all uneducated white people or dumb for that matter.

    Oh come on guys!

I'm not a Clinton fan, but I have admired Chelsea's efforts in her mother's campaign. And. . .as tired as Senator Clinton must be. . .and as disappointed as she must feel, I guess she is entitled to tearing up.

Hillary and Bill raised their daughter right. A parent's success is measured how their children turn out to be when they reach adulthood.

The Clintons were not ready from “Day One” and they lost the race for the democratic nomination; however, because of their personal ego and most importantly their lobbies’ objectives, they have set out to divide the Democratic Party so that it cannot win the November election. The Clintons have started to run their 2012 campaign already.

Why is the Democratic Party allowing the Clintons to spend their fortune to divide the party ? Why is this happening?

I'm not saying one way or another whether these are crocodile tears, but I will say that it is telling that no other candidate has cried. Not even Dennis Kucinich ; )

My God all these jerks a woman can't even get a tiny bit emotional talking about her daughter without ya'll acting like morons. Here's a clue Obama doesn't choke up because he has no emotions. See how cruel that is.

    Ya'll need help.

If Obama teared up, it would be ridiculed as a sign of weakness. But Hillary can use this ploy whenever she wants to get the "sympathy vote." Ridiculous. Those are crocodile tears!!!!

    LOL! Martin, your a genius.
