Hillary Clinton chokes up in CNN interview

WASHINGTON (CNN) – Hillary Clinton choked up Wednesday as she told CNN's Wolf Blitzer that her daughter's presence on the campaign trail had been one of the "most incredibly gratifying experiences of my life."

"Well, it's one of the most incredibly gratifying experiences of my life, as a person and as a mother. I get very emotional," she said. "She is an exceptional person, and she's worked so hard, and she's done such a good job that I'm just filled with pride every time I look at her.

"Obviously, we are very close. We are in communication all the time. But she is doing this because she believes I'd be a good president, but also because she cares so much about our country's future. She did grow up in the White House. She knows what a difference a president makes. If anybody ever doubted what difference a president makes, after seven years of George Bush, I think the doubts should be put to rest.

"So she's doing it because she's my daughter, but she's doing it because, as she says, she's a young American who cares about our future."

Chelsea Clinton, who has been a constant presence on the trail this cycle, was in Puerto Rico Wednesday in advance of the territory's June 1 primary.

Watch Wolf Blitzer's interview with Hillary Clinton at 4 and 6 p.m. ET on CNN's The Situation Room.

Is she also proud of the fact that like she and Bill, Chelsea can't seem to tell the difference between the truth and a lie. After all she was with her mother in Bosnia and didn't bother to correct her on the 'tall tale "about sniper fire. That apple didn't fall far from the tree!

You Obama fans are a pretty angry/cynical group aren't you? How is crying about being proud of your daughter any more of a gimmick than running around the country promising "change" (aka one of the most abstract political term ever).

Ah, the CRYING GAME again. Hello New Hampshire. The last time she MAY have cried was when she found out the Monica episode wasn't a right wing conspircy, and that would have been because everyone would know she's NOT the FIRST LADY, or second or third, etc.

Dear Hillary, Since birth, have you had a sincere moment? If so, name a few....

Im sorry did this article say tears came into her eyes. I did not read that but hey maybe some of you are psyhic. But I would have to say if she did she was talking about her child which has done very well in this world. She is a very smart young lady. I think most MOMS would. Once again though I did not read tears in this article.

Those of you who think Sen. Clinton was faking it when she was taking about her daughter during the interview are heartless and childless.

She's proud of her daughter....how many of these people commenting feel the need to distort that? Just because you support Obama, doesn't mean you have to be an idiot.

  19. Obama; Still Winning

Chelsea, who I do think is probably a great daughter and also probably pretty bright, has done nothing. She has held town halls and meetings with no press allowed for the entire campaign. I can understand if she were 17, but Chelsea Clinton is an adult, a Stanford graduate, and a professional. She has not stood on her own two feet at any moment and been a part of the debate. She has not been a part of the discourse. She has been a cheerleader.

Singing her daughter's praises now, and choking up while doing so, wreaks of post-feminist pandering. Give me a break.

Oh, and Chelsea, what goes on in the Oval Office is every Americans' business. A blue-blood American princess should know that.

Sorry Senator Clinton, this is the only area in which we disagree. While many in our party would like to move forward without learning a thing from the past, that doesn't work well in politics, or in people. Some of us can think more than five minutes in front of our faces to know (and we knew it years ago) that you should be the nominee and Sen. Obama should be the V.P. The White House for sixteen years. I towed the party line in our last elections, and I'm not doing it anymore. It is our way, or the highway for the Democrats.

  22. A GEORGIA MAMA THAT LOVES OBAMA!!!!

Go home Clinton, you and your husband, and daughter have had your time in the White House for 8 years. It's time to give a new generation a chance to see what they can do. If your or Bush's presence in the White House would have made a difference, this country would not be in the mess that it is in today.

ACTUALLY, SOME OF THE PROBLEMS THAT OCCURRED DURING THE BUSH ADMIN. WERE INHERITED FROM YOU AND YOUR HUSBAND'S PRESIDENCY!

So stop calling the kette black! Why do you think just because your husband was President, you should be President! This is not England!

    OBAMA FOR PRESIDENT!!!

Hillary has probably watched Spencer Tracy show how easy it is to make yourself cry in Adam's Rib. He makes the point to Katharine Hepburn that crying is very effective when you are trying to get the result you want( for men and women).

Between the crocodile tears and the "pander" bear, it's getting to be a real zoo at the Clinton campaign.
