(CNN) - Barack Obama has picked up the endorsement of NARAL Pro-Choice America, an organization that has supported Hillary Clinton in the past.
"Sen. Obama has been a strong advocate for a woman's right to choose throughout his career in public office," NARAL President Nancy Keenan said in a statement Wednesday. "He steadfastly supports and defends a woman's right to make the most personal, private decisions regarding her reproductive health without interference from government or politicians."
The president of EMILY’s List, a group that supports pro-choice Democratic women candidates, called NARAL's endorsement "tremendously disrespectful" to Hillary Clinton.
“I think it is tremendously disrespectful to Sen. Clinton - who held up the nomination of a FDA commissioner in order to force approval of Plan B and who spoke so eloquently during the Supreme Court nomination about the importance of protecting Roe vs. Wade - to not give her the courtesy to finish the final three weeks of the primary process," Ellen Malcolm said in a statement. "It certainly must be disconcerting for elected leaders who stand up for reproductive rights and expect the choice community will stand with them.”

whether it been 3 weeks, or 3 days, or 3 hours, obama still would of received the endorsement whether people want him to or not. he is the presumptive nominee and next week will show just that. lets get ready for november already!!

This is a HUGE endorsement considering McCain is against a woman's right to choose!!!

That is reason enough not to vote for her. Abortion is murder. The time to choose is before you get pregnant. I would never vote for any candidate that suports Roe vs Wade. McCain gets my vote.
Just because a group is pro choice does not mean Hillary has a claim to them . Like the group is pro-choice they Chose and it happened to be OBAMA.

First of all, why is EMILY'S List getting in a huff? It's not like NARAL are superdelegates – they're just an organization who happens to support Obama? And btw, it's obvious by their tone that they support Hillary Clinton – but no one is (or should be) slamming them for that. I'm pretty sure that the NAACP is behind Barack Obama – again...it's only an organization. Influential, yes...but does not count a vote.
If anything....EMILY'S List AND NARAL should BOTH be coming out AGAINST Sen. John McCain since he supports legislation that would make abortions illegal unless the mother's life is in danger or rape. Now you wanna talk about taking back women's rights?
