Biden had some strong words for the president.
Biden had some strong words for the president.

(CNN) — The chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee Joe Biden, D-Delaware, called President Bush’s comments accusing Sen. Barack Obama and other Democrats of wanting to appease terrorists "bulls**t” and said if the president disagrees so strongly with the idea of talking to Iran then he needs to fire his secretaries of State and Defense, both of whom Biden said have pushed to sit down with the Iranians.

“This is bullshit. This is malarkey. This is outrageous. Outrageous for the president of the United States to go to a foreign country, sit in the Knesset…and make this kind of ridiculous statement,” Biden said angrily in a brief interview just off the Senate floor.

“He’s the guy who’s weakened us. He’s the guy that’s increased the number of terrorists in the world. His policies have produced this vulnerability the United States has. His intelligence community pointed that out not me. The NIE has pointed that out and what are you talking about, is he going to fire Condi Rice? Condi Rice has talked about the need to sit down. So his first two appeasers are Rice and Gates. I hope he comes home and does something.”

He quoted Gates saying Wednesday that we “need to figure out a way to develop some leverage and then sit down and talk with them.”

Senator Biden has no reason to be upset with the President for His childish comment he made in Israel. If Democrats had the balls to stand up against this administration, President Bush and Dick Chenney whould have been impeached and long gone.

The Democratic Congress has nobody to blame but themselves. They are as responsible as the Republican for the failure of this great Nation under this administration. Shame on all of them!

G. Quarles   May 15th, 2008 3:44 pm ET

It's appalling that some Republicans will say anything about anybody for the sake of a percentage point. I do not believe that any U.S. Senator of either party is an appeaser. It's disgraceful how, in the heat of a political campaign, politicians and pundits can seriously postulate that the words "treason" or "unpatriotic" could ever be applied to our legislative leaders.

Being a long time democrat I may believe Republican ideas are stupid and simplistic but I would never, ever, say these fellow Americans are unpatriotic, treasonous, or appeasing our enemies.

Get real - the stakes are far too high for such foolishness.

Tony   May 15th, 2008 3:44 pm ET

This is the worst president ever. As a republican, we can not allow or endorse our president speaking half truths about another political party in our country around the world. Isn't this, politics at the worst level. He seems like a 1st term politician at the county level smearing an opponent. Wow, this should be beneath you Mr. Bush, but I guess it is not. For once I agree with you Mr. Biden the democrat. If our guy Mccain does not come out and disagree with Bush then I have a choice to either vote for the dem or not vote for a Bush flunky. I voted for Bush and I have been ashamed for the past few years. Burn me once but I will not be burned again. Show some balls Mccain and slam this rhetoric and bring honor back.

Alreadytiredofit, Las Vegas, NV   May 15th, 2008 3:44 pm ET

Biden for Secretary of State - I like a guy who speaks his mind!

Mickey   May 15th, 2008 3:44 pm ET

Finally, a politician willing to tell it as it is.

There isn't enough sugar in the world to coat the unpresidential comment Bush made, so why even try?

Sen, dont forget those neocons who surround Pres Bush - like Bill Kristol, even John Hagee - they are the ones responsible for misleading Bush into the war. Now they are aiming at Iran…..Bush is to be blamed to the extent he has surrounded himself by yes-men and turned tone deaf to the American public's cries.

Sean   May 15th, 2008 3:42 pm ET

Thanks for an article that say some guy said Bulls**t, and babled on about Bush making more terrorust?

Don't upset the people that want to kill us! Leave them be and let them go on killing.

roger dowdle, lockhart, Tx   May 15th, 2008 3:42 pm ET

George W. Bush has undeniably added thousands to the terrorists, by invading Iraq! The intelligence failure that resulted in 9-1-1 occurred on his watch, thousands more have lost their lives as a direct result of his war in iraq, that he lied to get us into, and congress was stupid enough to support! To say nothing of the tens of thousands of ruined american lives of the wounded. He has supported kidnapping (rendition), torture, illegal detention, illegal snooping into the private lives of citizens, etc. As sooon as he is out of office, he should be arrested and tried for crimes against humanity.

Dems 2008   May 15th, 2008 3:41 pm ET

This is almost too funny to be real politics!!

Why do our leaders go abroad and criticize their opponents, or in the case of the the Finance Secretary, our policies and economy.

I don't get it.

Will Gates   May 15th, 2008 3:41 pm ET

I am glad a politican had the grape fruit to speak out against President Bush continued reguards or respect toward people people ideals!

Good Job! I am glad to see someone step up to the plate and call President Bush out on his disreguard for trues and untrues!

Shame he didn't get lots of support.

It is about time a politician puts political correctness aside and speaks from the heart. This is the sentiment from well over half of our population and I would like to thank Mr. Biden for putting his comments in the public forum for the entire world to hear. Because our friends internationally need to know President Bush does not represent the will of the people of the United States.

Roy Arellano (San Antonio)   May 15th, 2008 3:39 pm ET

Good on you Biden; about time the proper ettiquete of the fake Washington goes out the window and real American reaction is displayed. It is shameful what the worst president in our modern history has done and has stated. I pray you don't appologize to NO ONE about your reaction. It was honest and to the point.

Good for you, Joe. Our president is an idiot.

These Republicans really fear Obama to urge the President to make a reckless statement like that. Bush and the Republicans are doing the only thing they know, to use fear for political gain. But America is not gonna buy it this time, or will we?

Ari   May 15th, 2008 3:38 pm ET

Frankly, I am outraged too. one can look at any political science book and realize that preventing innocent lives through diplomacy is a much better way that fighting. come on, we are all human. we must have some common grounds. we all value family, we all value our lives. conversation has been and is the best way to resolve problems. I cannot wait till this president is out of office….

TB   May 15th, 2008 3:38 pm ET

Senator Biden is absolutely right. President Bush was way out of line here. Biden would be a great choice for Obama's VP. After all. Someone's gotta call BS when we see it.

John of Michigan   May 15th, 2008 3:37 pm ET

Those who support Bush-McCain's position on war, do you think you can afford to fight another war either in Iran or even in Sudan? Do you think America is that strong? In spite of their "tough" talk, do you think they really have the guts and finances to wage another war? Do you think they are really getting your support? Is your support genuine? Can you afford to write a check to Bush and McCain for their wars while at the same time pay for your gasalines at the gas pump???

You do realize that your editors forgot to bleep out the obsenity in the second paragraph. Considering that you insisted on censoring it in the first paragraph, I imagine this was an oversight that should probably be corrected.

Ralph Wallace   May 15th, 2008 3:37 pm ET

How interesting that the Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee would use such vile obscenity to criticize the speech of a sitting president - and to top it off, this comes from a senator who is a known plagiarist. Disgusting!

denise   May 15th, 2008 3:37 pm ET

GO JOE!!!! You expressed yourself eloquently!!!!!

Danny in Pittsburgh   May 15th, 2008 3:37 pm ET

Thanks for telling it like it is, Joe.

Now…all you Hillary Folks out there swearing you'll vote for McCain?

Are you listening…REALLY LISTENING…to the person you'd hand this country to?

McCain would have us keep walking in George Bush's footsteps…and those are steps that have very nearly doomed this country already.

I have to say, even if Hillary finds a way to steal the nomination…there is nothing in me as an American that will permit me to vote for John McCain and his short-sighted, antiquated and dangerous version of a third term for George Bush.

Steve   May 15th, 2008 3:37 pm ET

Matt   May 15th, 2008 3:36 pm ET

George Bush, and his remaining supporters, seem to be under the delusion that you can kill an idea with a bullet.

This is why the 'war on terror' is such a bad war… who is the target? Anyone who doesn't think exactly like we think? What is the solution? Kill them?

Never take diplomacy off the table… both sides always have something to learn. Any one who sat in a high school debate knows this.

Joe Biden is right! Its clear that Bush does not know history but I did not know until today that he does not even know his family history!

George Bush's grandfather, Prescott Bush, worked for and profited from the Nazi's. Actually he profited off of all of the jewish families in europe. That is how the Bush's attained their fortune.

Bush has no right to say it is not okay to talk to Iran and equate it with appeasing the Nazis before WWII when his family worked for the NAZIs!!

I am not saying that Obama wants to work with Iran, but if the conditions were right, how bad is talking with Iran. I think it is better to talk first then see what happens as opposed to acting first and then asking questions later.

I truly dislike fear mongers … folks, Barack is being advised by very experienced military leaders. Moreover, he's not an idiot.

Two things:

1) we have bases in Bahrain, Oman and Qatar - the Oman base is growing.

2) Obama would not hesitate to use strategic precision bombing - you know the type, it's the stuff they portrayed in the movie "Syriana", which is based on real hardware that both Clinton and Bush have used.

Folks - pulling out of Iraq does not mean we won't have a military presence in the middle east (read the papers folks and stop watching "jay walking" on Jay Leno for a change). Talking to Iran does not mean we would not be talking to Iran from a position of strength. You know when you buy a car you look beyond the shiny surface - you know, you kick the tires, look under the hood, read the fine print - try doing that with events abroad folks (oh, I forgot, some of you dim wits purchased SUVs and homes with variable rate mortgages, while your credit cards are maxed). Obama is a smart guy. Don't let fear mongers make you believe that, because he holds his cards close to his chest on info you should all know - if you were smart enough, that he is weak. Jeez, you don't deserve him as president.

MDR   May 15th, 2008 3:31 pm ET

Excellent choice of words Mr. Biden, I don't curse, but If i had to choose one curse word for this situation that'll be the correct one. How can the president of our country go overseas and say things like that? The man is the worse president ever, whats wrong with talking out problems with people in school that's what we were taught we even had conflict resolution officers, to mediate for the combative parties.

Wow, Bush didn't even mention Obama. Sounds like he is talking about Carter, Pelosi, or some other Democrat that has gone over there to boost their image and undermine US policy. Maybe Obama has a guilty conscious? I laugh everytime one of these Democrat hypocrits whine when they even think an insult is sent their way after all their childish insults of Bush over the years.
The real news this day should be McCain's outline of his vision of a presidency. Public parliamentary question and answer sessions, straight talk on foreign policy, transparant government, etc.
Instead, the press concentrates on babyish back and forths like this article. I doubt this comment will stay posted because enough room must be left for the hateful rants of the Obamites.

Rock on Biden! Could not have said it better. Again mis informaiton is how the Republicans intend to win this election….reasonable doubt…fortunatley that goes both ways and most american have considerable reservations about how the GOP has managed this nation the last 8 years. Bush needs to go sit in the naughty corner. Not very nice to spread mean rumors Georgey.

Rick in NYC   May 15th, 2008 3:30 pm ET

Yeah Joe! President Obama will put an end to the senslessness of all this violence by not antagonizing our enemies like Mr. Bush has continued to do. Martin Luther King, Jr. said the only way to convert an enemy is through love. Now I'm not saying we have a big group hug with Al Qaeda, but if we take a mellower tone around the world, we may be able to lessen this nonsense. If that's appeasing, then fine. But it won't be that. I'm sure it will be careful and tactical and in everyone's best interests.

Blackwoman, Ohio   May 15th, 2008 3:29 pm ET

I hate to say this but I think that Bush was right. It would be irresponsible to meet with leaders of terrorist organizations. I am actually concerned that Obama is just not ready to be president. Nice guy but probably needs more experience.

However, I think it is wrong for Bush to interfere in the election and attack obama.

KBest   May 15th, 2008 3:29 pm ET

Really, the presidential idiotism of George Bush should be curbed for the sanity and safety of the American people. While he enjoys the accolades of a presidency and his daughters are busy marrying, American soldeirs are giving their lives in battle.

He should shut up and just ride out his remainder months before going into solitude of depression for his failure as an individual and as a president.

Good riddance of an unthoughtful and careless president. What a mistake for an America President.

Chip Pudims   May 15th, 2008 3:29 pm ET

It seems President Bush has hit a nerve with the Democrats and their candidates, especially Obama who has repeatedly stated he would sit down unconditionally with anyone! Biden has resorted to colorful language, even flat out lies, because the President has been unequivocable in not talking with Iran until they stop their nuclear program and Hamas until they argee to recognize the existence of Israel. Isn't politics wonderful? Even at the expense of national security.

Yankee Dog   May 15th, 2008 3:29 pm ET

President Bush is an evil, horrible little punk. History will judge him as the most incompetent, POTUS ever who led this country to the brink of total disaster. He has sullies the office he holds with these types of remarks on foreign soil. Can someone, anyone, name one good thing this idiot has done. He completely screws up everything he has done in life — and we're all paying the price. Our national nightmare is almost over. The next seven months will be long, way, way too long!

MD in GA   May 15th, 2008 3:29 pm ET

Good for you Senator Biden. November 08 and January 09 can't come fast enough for me.

David Turner   May 15th, 2008 3:29 pm ET

About time someone called it like it really is with this administration.

Peter   May 15th, 2008 3:28 pm ET

Barack, please choose Joe as your VP.

JW from Washington, DC   May 15th, 2008 3:28 pm ET

Finally! Someone needed to point out the hypocrisy of the Bush administration. Thank you Biden!

Mighty Mice   May 15th, 2008 3:28 pm ET

Where were the mighty DEMs when Obama played the race card and tried to paint the Clintons as racists? Right. Two of the greatest Americans to champion the rights of ALL Americans.

No one said anything then.

The left wingers giggled with glee when Hillary Clinton was the one bashed and trashed.

Don't expect our help now.

Too little too late. Obama lost my vote in SC.

James   May 15th, 2008 3:28 pm ET

Looks like we found Obama's veep!

Markeis   May 15th, 2008 3:28 pm ET

Thank you Mr. Biden that so many other people in the world says and their voice goes unheard.

That Jay guy from Canada   May 15th, 2008 3:28 pm ET

Did you notice Mr Bush had his lapel pin when he made that statement…Now that's patriotism !

Sesay from Fort Worth, Texas   May 15th, 2008 3:28 pm ET

President Bush should know that you cannot always win a war with a war. I think it is a time to change some of the policies the U.S. has towards foreign governments we do not agree with.
Please post this CNN.

E   May 15th, 2008 3:28 pm ET

Finally someone calls his policies for the last eight years exactly what they are……the 25% of you who still support this administration are straight up delusional and need to have your heads examined

zolo49   May 15th, 2008 3:28 pm ET

You still forgot to mask out one of the BS comments. ;-)

Nicole Martin   May 15th, 2008 3:27 pm ET

Bravo Biden. Everytime someone exercises their right of free speech to vocalize their outrage at Bush's repeated blunders, we are demonstrating patriotism in its truest form. How a nation as great as ours has let a moron like George Bush stay in office this long, I will never know.

christine   May 15th, 2008 3:27 pm ET

i am with bidden go demo dont let these people attack you stand for each other and fight this republican party that has put us in this big mess the war in iraq

David E   May 15th, 2008 3:26 pm ET

Good for you Joe! Say it like it is!

Mike Carlson   May 15th, 2008 3:26 pm ET

Love it.

Bill   May 15th, 2008 3:26 pm ET

Bush is talking BS!!!! What else is new?

Simply_Amazed   May 15th, 2008 3:26 pm ET

You go, Biden!

Tiffany   May 15th, 2008 3:26 pm ET

finally…someone said it!!! GO OBAMA!!!

CHERYL   May 15th, 2008 3:26 pm ET

GEORGE BUSH NEEDS TO JUST SHUT HIS MOUTH HE HAS DONE THIS COUNTRY SO MUCH HARM, I CAN NOT BELIEVE HE CAN EVEN BE ALLOWED TO TALK. HE IS EMBARRASING TO THIS COUNTRY

Slim from Seattle   May 15th, 2008 3:26 pm ET

I love this guy, Joe Biden. President Bush has been a Bullsh**ter he's got United Stated in to this WAR for nothing. Just caused us more money and more problems all around the world all because of this Idiot we call our President.

Obama 08.

Race Card   May 15th, 2008 3:26 pm ET

There will be a backlash against Obama in Nov.

He should not have played the race card.

That knife still cuts both ways.

Dick   May 15th, 2008 3:25 pm ET

And he calls himself a presidential candidate. sounds like trash talk from the play ground. Are we that hard up for leadership in this country-if we are we are is a lot of trouble.

Barbara E., New York, NY   May 15th, 2008 3:25 pm ET

You tell 'em, Joltin' Joe.

VOTE DEMOCRAT 08!   May 15th, 2008 3:25 pm ET

Another reason why I love being a Democrat!

Ollie In Augusta   May 15th, 2008 3:25 pm ET

THANK YOU Senator!! I am so glad that somebody will check this moron on his rhetoric. Diplomacy is one of the national elements of power. How can we use it if we refuse to talk to anyone? Wasn't it President Kewnnedy who said, "We should not talk out of fear but we shouldn't be afraid to talk."

Getting tired of this   May 15th, 2008 3:25 pm ET

I'm starting to feel good about Obama's chances now. As the Republicans steep themselves in Karl Rove's dog-eared playbook of fear and smear, the country has moved on and too many Americans will simply not allow ourselves to be duped by that kind of politics. Not this time.

You've played the fear card a few too many times folks and it increasingly reflects on your lack of respect for the American voter and your lack of leadership rather than having the effect you want it to.
A united party of Obama, the Clintons, Edwards, Biden, Richardson, Pelosi, et al are about to sweep the floor with you. Enjoy early retirement

A.J.   May 15th, 2008 3:25 pm ET

Wouah, well I thought GWB had said it all, but NOOOOO, he comes back for the Home run.
And the worst isn't that he said it, it is all those people who actually agree with what he said…those people should get some history courses!!!

Frank   May 15th, 2008 3:25 pm ET

GO, JOE! I would have voted for you for President.

But as long as you're at it, why don't you take McCain to task for the Hamas BS he's trying to smear Obama with.

McCain is dishing the same right-wing, fear-mongering filth that comes out of the Bush administration.

God sent him   May 15th, 2008 3:25 pm ET

Joe, Mr. Bush won't do anything re fireing Condi or Gates. He is the worst President the US ever see and if the people go for Mccain he will be the second worst.

Fidel Castro said in his speach 2000 when Bush won the election in the Supreme Court. Quote " I hope he is not as stupid as how he look" He did prove to the world that he is stupid. I am not suprise with his speach in Israel.

John, Danville, PA   May 15th, 2008 3:25 pm ET

Bush "has increased the number of terrorists in the world"??! I beg to differ.

I think it's obvious that the liberals caused this increase — the terrorists get so irritated when they hear that gay marriage has been upheld in California, that they abandon their families and devote their entire lives to jihad against the U.S.

They really hate our freedoms.

MIKE B.   May 15th, 2008 3:25 pm ET

WELL SAID MR. BIDEN. WELL SAID. BUSH SPEAKS AS IF IS LOSING HIS MIND.

Asta la victoria Siempre   May 15th, 2008 3:24 pm ET

the GOP will use and say anything to destroy our democracy… (who do they remind you of.. power at all cost..)

Remember they will use:

fear
lies
fear
lies
racism
division
isms

that is their trademark, we know who use that and what the end results are……..this is the USA, and we have come a long way so for the GOP and the clitnonistas to continue to use these isms and tactics, is unacceptable

Yes We Can _ the American people are not stupid as some have implied _ (winnk wink, Bush, Clinton, Limbaugh, McCain, Billy boo, and the far right..)

Jerry Johnson   May 15th, 2008 3:24 pm ET

Right On Joe!! Tell it like it is!

naomi straney   May 15th, 2008 3:24 pm ET

good for you - Joe Biden!!!
I couldn't agree more.

Gerald - London, Uk   May 15th, 2008 3:24 pm ET

FOOD FOR THOUGHT ===============

Why is Bush negotiating with North Korea at the moment if talking to our enemies is sooooo bad? Is North Korea not supposed to be part of the axis of evil along with Iran & Syria?

Why did Bush strike a deal with Ghadafi of Libya? Did he not arrange the mid-air bombing of Pan Am flight over scotland, among other terrorist acts?

Why is Bush paying and negotiating with the Iraqi insurgents? Have they ceased to be terrorists?

Hypocrisy!!!

Superdelegate   May 15th, 2008 3:24 pm ET

Good Job Biden!

If only   May 15th, 2008 3:24 pm ET

If only the DNC had not swiftboated Hillary Clinton.

If only Obama hadn't played and overplayed the race card.

If only the drooling media hadn't trashed Hillary.

Then Obama would still have MY vote.

wwf   May 15th, 2008 3:24 pm ET

Roger. I think that crack and stupidity have already taken their toll on you.

Don C.   May 15th, 2008 3:24 pm ET

God love, ya, Joe!

Dan   May 15th, 2008 3:23 pm ET

I couldn't agree more with Senator Biden. Bush is a complete joke. Nobody takes anything he says seriously anyway.

WFK   May 15th, 2008 3:23 pm ET

Biden got it right.

Sam   May 15th, 2008 3:23 pm ET

Biden, you are my hero!

Wes   May 15th, 2008 3:23 pm ET

hmmm and some people actually thought Bush was right. Well there you have it a President that doesn't want to listen to his own staff or those who know better out of stubborness. Sounds like another situation I read about, somthing about a gas tax i believe( they're experts for a reason).

Obama 08

Dems 08

Any 1 but McCain

Ian   May 15th, 2008 3:23 pm ET

I guess Biden doesn't like straight talk…oh, wait, he never has. I don't know how plagiarizer and known liar gets away with making comments such as this. Bush is spot on with his comments and history reminds us that this is absolutely true. Anyone who sees Iran as innocent is absolutely delusional and incapable of decision making.

Bud in NC   May 15th, 2008 3:23 pm ET

Hey folks. This guy Bush has been brain dead since he was hatched. What comes out of his mouth is gastric gas fermented by Karl Rove. I am a Clinton primary voter who will vote for Obama in Nov because he will be the Dem candidate. Let Bush have it Barak.

YO   May 15th, 2008 3:23 pm ET

Tell us about Prescott Bush, Dubya.

Steven Elliott   May 15th, 2008 3:23 pm ET

Bravo, Senator. We need more straight talk in DC. We are all adults.

Phil Newton Murphy, Oregon   May 15th, 2008 3:23 pm ET

Go, Joe!

Now THAT'S straight talk.

brad, kalamazoo MI   May 15th, 2008 3:23 pm ET

Joe Biden for Vice President !!!!!!!!!!!!

too late   May 15th, 2008 3:22 pm ET

Biden is too late.

The DNC and the left wingers damaged their best candidate.

It is too late to rally around the Obama now.

Write in Hillary Clinton

Chris   May 15th, 2008 3:22 pm ET

I agree!!!

Lucas, Nashville TN   May 15th, 2008 3:22 pm ET

THANK YOU BIDEN. THANK YOU.

Barbara   May 15th, 2008 3:22 pm ET

My sentiments exactly Senator Biden!

Philip   May 15th, 2008 3:22 pm ET

Absolutely!! Bush's grasp on reality and his own culpability is pathetic.

Kentucky Man   May 15th, 2008 3:22 pm ET

How many attack dogs does Obama have? These people are going for Obama because they want his supporters. If Obama loses the General Election, nobody will be on Obama's side anymore. Lets do it Kentucky!!! Hillary '08!!!!!!!!

How can you not love this guy!!!

JIM   May 15th, 2008 3:21 pm ET

Its official, President Bush is out of touch with his own cabinet secretaries. He only has a couple of months left and a new President will have the opportunity to fix the screwup from the 43rd President of the United States of America

James L   May 15th, 2008 3:21 pm ET

Finally. … Somebody has made it plain and clear. … George Bush is an idoit !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gil Galvan   May 15th, 2008 3:21 pm ET

Biden is sour grapes and a has been. He is a self centered self serving Rube. His foul language is a reflection of himself.

I agree   May 15th, 2008 3:21 pm ET

I didn't vote for the arrogant, cocky dismissive Bush- either time.

I won't be voting for the cocky, jeering, mocking Obama, either.

Maryann - Orlando, FL   May 15th, 2008 3:21 pm ET

Hey, I was really looking forward to reading the comments about this! And there aren't any. It was the 'bullsh**' thing, wasn't it? :)

What's up, CNN?

Charlotte   May 15th, 2008 3:21 pm ET

EXACTLY! Biden has redeemed himself! I'm loving the Dems who are telling it like it is this year! This is really our time to take back America from the liars and the cheaters who've held it hostage.

Heather   May 15th, 2008 3:21 pm ET

You go Joe! It's about time someone in a leadership position had the backbone to really say how badly Bush has screwed everything up and to call him out for being the liar that he is. To paint the Dems as the ones who have caused the problem here is the biggest joke ever.

Joe Biden for Secretary of State in the Obama Administration!

Jim   May 15th, 2008 3:21 pm ET

The President can say what he wants, when he wants, so long as he's not playing golf.
Good Lord when's his last day?

Natalie   May 15th, 2008 3:21 pm ET

We're all adults here. Why not print what he said. It's totally appropriate.

Fred   May 15th, 2008 3:20 pm ET

Awesome. Go Biden.

Deb   May 15th, 2008 3:20 pm ET

Could not have said it better. Way to go Vice President Biden.

Soldier   May 15th, 2008 3:20 pm ET

Bush is a moron. How did this nitwit get to become the president of the most powerful country in the world? Look at the American economy, the iraqi war, the mortgage melt down and the alarming rate at which terrorists are multiplying all over the world? And he still has the courage to fuel the fires he caused? Unbelievable!

don't worry, be happy   May 15th, 2008 3:20 pm ET

Don't worry, the voters will tell Obama, "hold on sweetie" as we write in Hillary Clinton.

Nikolas   May 15th, 2008 3:19 pm ET

Awesome. I wish more Senators would just say what they're thinking. Awesome. New respect for Biden.

Greg   May 15th, 2008 3:19 pm ET

Nice to see you can be a complete loon and still successful in life

JC   May 15th, 2008 3:19 pm ET

It's about time our senators start straight talking. Thank you Biden for taking the gloves off. We have a lame duck President who still manages to keep stepping in it. I appreciate you calling him on his crap and calling it like it is. If all our leaders stopped politicking and started pointing out the inconsistencies, we might start changing America back - to a strong country that truly provides leadership and (dare I say) vision to the rest of the world.

Gorbashov, Long Beach, Ca.   May 15th, 2008 3:19 pm ET

I couldn't have said it better myself!

Bush should be impeached……………………..NOW!

What a pathetic excuse for a human being!

January 2009 can't come soon enough!

free thinkers   May 15th, 2008 3:19 pm ET

I don't listen to Bush and I don't listen to the drooling pro-Obama media either.

I didn't vote for Bush -Twice.

I won't vote for Obama.

Hillary is the only one suited for the job.

1ofDa10th   May 15th, 2008 3:18 pm ET

Joe Biden speaks the truth! He is a no nonsense kinda guy. This is yet another political game that Bush and the Republicans are playing, but he's using the wrong platform to do it from.

sprkl12000   May 15th, 2008 3:18 pm ET

I LOVE IT…Finally someone called Bush out for his fear tactics and cheap shots!!!!

mike   May 15th, 2008 3:18 pm ET

I AM SO SICK OF YOU DEMS. MAKING GAS PRICES GO UP IN AMERICA BY NOT LETTING COMPANIES DRILL FOR OIL. GET YOUR HEAD OUT OFTHE ENVIRONMENTALIST PANTS AND HELP THE WORKING MAN SURVIVE. CANNOT WAIT FOR THE PUBLIC TO TAKE MATTERS INTO THEIR OWN HANDS AND DO WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE TO TAKE BACK AMERICA. GET A GRIP ON WHAT WE WANT AND NOT WHAT YOU WANT. LISTEN TO THE PEOPLE AND NOT THE MONEY. DO YOUR JOB FOR THE PEOPLE WHO VOTED YOU IN.

100% CORRECT!!!

Wayne Pigeon, Sterling Heights, MI   May 15th, 2008 3:18 pm ET

I couldn't agree more. Joe Biden knows from where he speaks.
George Bush's understanding of foreign policy is on par with most Americans' understanding of the psychotic mind.
How many decades will it take to repair the damage he's done to the planet's perception of the U.S.?

Jay   May 15th, 2008 3:18 pm ET

Amen!

Rick DC   May 15th, 2008 3:18 pm ET

I strongly agree with Senator Biden . You are "Right on Point". Its about time somesone stood up and challenged Mr. Bush on his ridiculous comments. He is totally out of touch with the world!

TiffIn in Ohio   May 15th, 2008 3:18 pm ET

Yes, Yes, Yes!! It's time someone called George Bush on his continued dumb, divisive and idiotic statements. We need to hear John McCain reject and denounce his President. George Bush needs a great senate beat down on this one.

Jack in Manhattan Beach   May 15th, 2008 3:17 pm ET

Joe Biden…you're the greatest! You call it like it is. We f**ing love you! Bush is an idiot. Fact finding is hardly what you'd call appeasement…unless you're a paranoid ill-informed arrogant airhead like Bush.

enomisa   May 15th, 2008 3:17 pm ET

Really?
What democrat, independent or republican wants to be a part of the cheating, hating, lying, vulgar Obama team?

Diann, Richton Park, IL   May 15th, 2008 3:17 pm ET

Thank you Joe Biden, you speak the truth!

I have a few choice words for Bush, but CNN won't post them.

Andy in ATL   May 15th, 2008 3:17 pm ET

Sounds like the Dems doth protest too much…

Obviously, the criticism strikes too close to home for their comfort.

The President was obviously way out of line to articulate the stated position of the Democratic Party in general, and Senator Obama in specific (July 2007 debate).

Let me guess…

If you point out Senator Obama's position on issues, you're a racist, right?

Ken   May 15th, 2008 3:17 pm ET

You could have titled this post "Why Ken Loves Joe Biden" (although I imagine that would have appealed to a much smaller audience). Say what you will about him, you can't say he's afraid to call it as he sees it. In this case, he has called it correctly.

Justin Athens Ohio   May 15th, 2008 3:17 pm ET

Thanks You Sen. Biden. If Barack was in the situation to speak out this strongly he would. We should all understand that this was an attack on every liberal. The Bushmaster is questioning our morals that make us Democrats. Vote DEMOCRAT 08′…. OBAMA 08′

Chuck   May 15th, 2008 3:16 pm ET

What Bush has said not only crosses the line and beneath the Office of the Presidency of the United State of America but also un-american in its reflection on the democratic candidates who are running for the same office. Bush has shown himself, again, to be a total idiot and will go down in history as unfit for the office he currently holds. January 2009 cannot come fast enough send this imbecile back to Texas where he belongs.

Andy B   May 15th, 2008 3:16 pm ET

Joe Joe Joe What'd did you expect for Bush to say? Something with even the tiniest thread of intelligence. After 7 years of his ineptitude you should know better. He's been full of it since day one.

Joe, way to call it! I know you wouldn't consider a VP slot with Hillary, but since that isn't going to happen, my hope is that you would be on Sen Obama's short list for VP in his administration. You've served this country well, thanks!

Jemma from VA   May 15th, 2008 3:16 pm ET

I am really disappointed at CNN for interrupting Barack Obama's speech after John Edwards' endorsement so that they can air Lou Dobbs' segment. Shouldn't you be covering the election?

Frankly, I am sick of Lou Dobbs' and his bias opinions. He is rude to his guests and all he wants is to hear himself talk. Why bother having a panel when he keeps on interrupting them.

Let them talk!

Gates: "need to figure out a way to develop some leverage and then sit down and talk with them."

How can one come to peaceful terms when one is looking for "leverage" before coming to discussions? True negotiations aren't fairly settled with one man holding the gun and the other wearing a blindfold.
