From
Biden had some strong words for the president.
Biden had some strong words for the president.

(CNN) - The chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee Joe Biden, D-Delaware, called President Bush’s comments accusing Sen. Barack Obama and other Democrats of wanting to appease terrorists "bulls**t” and said if the president disagrees so strongly with the idea of talking to Iran then he needs to fire his secretaries of State and Defense, both of whom Biden said have pushed to sit down with the Iranians.

“This is bullshit. This is malarkey. This is outrageous. Outrageous for the president of the United States to go to a foreign country, sit in the Knesset…and make this kind of ridiculous statement,” Biden said angrily in a brief interview just off the Senate floor.

“He’s the guy who’s weakened us. He’s the guy that’s increased the number of terrorists in the world. His policies have produced this vulnerability the United States has. His intelligence community pointed that out not me. The NIE has pointed that out and what are you talking about, is he going to fire Condi Rice? Condi Rice has talked about the need to sit down. So his first two appeasers are Rice and Gates. I hope he comes home and does something.”

He quoted Gates saying Wednesday that we “need to figure out a way to develop some leverage and then sit down and talk with them.”

Senator Biden has no reason to be upset with the President for His childish comment he made in Israel. If Democrats had the balls to stand up against this administration, President Bush and Dick Chenney whould have been impeached and long gone.

The Democratic Congress has nobody to blame but themselves. They are as responsible as the Republican for the failure of this great Nation under this administration. Shame on all of them!

G. Quarles   May 15th, 2008 3:44 pm ET

It's appalling that some Republicans will say anything about anybody for the sake of a percentage point. I do not believe that any U.S. Senator of either party is an appeaser. It's disgraceful how, in the heat of a political campaign, politicians and pundits can seriously postulate that the words "treason" or "unpatriotic" could ever be applied to our legislative leaders.

Being a long time democrat I may believe Republican ideas are stupid and simplistic but I would never, ever, say these fellow Americans are unpatriotic, treasonous, or appeasing our enemies.

Get real – the stakes are far too high for such foolishness.

Tony   May 15th, 2008 3:44 pm ET

This is the worst president ever. As a republican, we can not allow or endorse our president speaking half truths about another political party in our country around the world. Isn't this, politics at the worst level. He seems like a 1st term politician at the county level smearing an opponent. Wow, this should be beneath you Mr. Bush, but I guess it is not. For once I agree with you Mr. Biden the democrat. If our guy Mccain does not come out and disagree with Bush then I have a choice to either vote for the dem or not vote for a Bush flunky. I voted for Bush and I have been ashamed for the past few years. Burn me once but I will not be burned again. Show some balls Mccain and slam this rhetoric and bring honor back.

Alreadytiredofit, Las Vegas, NV   May 15th, 2008 3:44 pm ET

Biden for Secretary of State – I like a guy who speaks his mind!

Mickey   May 15th, 2008 3:44 pm ET

Finally, a politician willing to tell it as it is.

There isn't enough sugar in the world to coat the unpresidential comment Bush made, so why even try?

Sen, dont forget those neocons who surround Pres Bush – like Bill Kristol, even John Hagee – they are the ones responsible for misleading Bush into the war. Now they are aiming at Iran.....Bush is to be blamed to the extent he has surrounded himself by yes-men and turned tone deaf to the American public's cries.

Sean   May 15th, 2008 3:42 pm ET

Thanks for an article that say some guy said Bulls**t, and babled on about Bush making more terrorust?

Don't upset the people that want to kill us! Leave them be and let them go on killing.

roger dowdle, lockhart, Tx   May 15th, 2008 3:42 pm ET

George W. Bush has undeniably added thousands to the terrorists, by invading Iraq! The intelligence failure that resulted in 9-1-1 occurred on his watch, thousands more have lost their lives as a direct result of his war in iraq, that he lied to get us into, and congress was stupid enough to support! To say nothing of the tens of thousands of ruined american lives of the wounded. He has supported kidnapping (rendition), torture, illegal detention, illegal snooping into the private lives of citizens, etc. As sooon as he is out of office, he should be arrested and tried for crimes against humanity.

Dems 2008   May 15th, 2008 3:41 pm ET

This is almost too funny to be real politics!!

Why do our leaders go abroad and criticize their opponents, or in the case of the the Finance Secretary, our policies and economy.

I don't get it.

Will Gates   May 15th, 2008 3:41 pm ET

I am glad a politican had the grape fruit to speak out against President Bush continued reguards or respect toward people people ideals!

Good Job! I am glad to see someone step up to the plate and call President Bush out on his disreguard for trues and untrues!

Shame he didn't get lots of support.

It is about time a politician puts political correctness aside and speaks from the heart. This is the sentiment from well over half of our population and I would like to thank Mr. Biden for putting his comments in the public forum for the entire world to hear. Because our friends internationally need to know President Bush does not represent the will of the people of the United States.

Roy Arellano (San Antonio)   May 15th, 2008 3:39 pm ET

Good on you Biden; about time the proper ettiquete of the fake Washington goes out the window and real American reaction is displayed. It is shameful what the worst president in our modern history has done and has stated. I pray you don't appologize to NO ONE about your reaction. It was honest and to the point.

Good for you, Joe. Our president is an idiot.

These Republicans really fear Obama to urge the President to make a reckless statement like that. Bush and the Republicans are doing the only thing they know, to use fear for political gain. But America is not gonna buy it this time, or will we?

Ari   May 15th, 2008 3:38 pm ET

Frankly, I am outraged too. one can look at any political science book and realize that preventing innocent lives through diplomacy is a much better way that fighting. come on, we are all human. we must have some common grounds. we all value family, we all value our lives. conversation has been and is the best way to resolve problems. I cannot wait till this president is out of office....

TB   May 15th, 2008 3:38 pm ET

Senator Biden is absolutely right. President Bush was way out of line here. Biden would be a great choice for Obama's VP. After all. Someone's gotta call BS when we see it.

John of Michigan   May 15th, 2008 3:37 pm ET

Those who support Bush-McCain's position on war, do you think you can afford to fight another war either in Iran or even in Sudan? Do you think America is that strong? In spite of their "tough" talk, do you think they really have the guts and finances to wage another war? Do you think they are really getting your support? Is your support genuine? Can you afford to write a check to Bush and McCain for their wars while at the same time pay for your gasalines at the gas pump???

Ralph Wallace   May 15th, 2008 3:37 pm ET

How interesting that the Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee would use such vile obscenity to criticize the speech of a sitting president – and to top it off, this comes from a senator who is a known plagiarist. Disgusting!

denise   May 15th, 2008 3:37 pm ET

GO JOE!!!! You expressed yourself eloquently!!!!!

Danny in Pittsburgh   May 15th, 2008 3:37 pm ET

Thanks for telling it like it is, Joe.

Now...all you Hillary Folks out there swearing you'll vote for McCain?

Are you listening...REALLY LISTENING...to the person you'd hand this country to?

McCain would have us keep walking in George Bush's footsteps...and those are steps that have very nearly doomed this country already.

I have to say, even if Hillary finds a way to steal the nomination...there is nothing in me as an American that will permit me to vote for John McCain and his short-sighted, antiquated and dangerous version of a third term for George Bush.

Steve   May 15th, 2008 3:37 pm ET

Matt   May 15th, 2008 3:36 pm ET

George Bush, and his remaining supporters, seem to be under the delusion that you can kill an idea with a bullet.

This is why the 'war on terror' is such a bad war... who is the target? Anyone who doesn't think exactly like we think? What is the solution? Kill them?

Never take diplomacy off the table... both sides always have something to learn. Any one who sat in a high school debate knows this.

Joe Biden is right! Its clear that Bush does not know history but I did not know until today that he does not even know his family history!

George Bush's grandfather, Prescott Bush, worked for and profited from the Nazi's. Actually he profited off of all of the jewish families in europe. That is how the Bush's attained their fortune.

Bush has no right to say it is not okay to talk to Iran and equate it with appeasing the Nazis before WWII when his family worked for the NAZIs!!

I am not saying that Obama wants to work with Iran, but if the conditions were right, how bad is talking with Iran. I think it is better to talk first then see what happens as opposed to acting first and then asking questions later.

I truly dislike fear mongers ... folks, Barack is being advised by very experienced military leaders. Moreover, he's not an idiot.

Two things:

1) we have bases in Bahrain, Oman and Qatar – the Oman base is growing.

2) Obama would not hesitate to use strategic precision bombing – you know the type, it's the stuff they portrayed in the movie "Syriana", which is based on real hardware that both Clinton and Bush have used.

Folks – pulling out of Iraq does not mean we won't have a military presence in the middle east (read the papers folks and stop watching "jay walking" on Jay Leno for a change). Talking to Iran does not mean we would not be talking to Iran from a position of strength. You know when you buy a car you look beyond the shiny surface – you know, you kick the tires, look under the hood, read the fine print – try doing that with events abroad folks (oh, I forgot, some of you dim wits purchased SUVs and homes with variable rate mortgages, while your credit cards are maxed). Obama is a smart guy. Don't let fear mongers make you believe that, because he holds his cards close to his chest on info you should all know – if you were smart enough, that he is weak. Jeez, you don't deserve him as president.

MDR   May 15th, 2008 3:31 pm ET

Excellent choice of words Mr. Biden, I don't curse, but If i had to choose one curse word for this situation that'll be the correct one. How can the president of our country go overseas and say things like that? The man is the worse president ever, whats wrong with talking out problems with people in school that's what we were taught we even had conflict resolution officers, to mediate for the combative parties.

Wow, Bush didn't even mention Obama. Sounds like he is talking about Carter, Pelosi, or some other Democrat that has gone over there to boost their image and undermine US policy. Maybe Obama has a guilty conscious? I laugh everytime one of these Democrat hypocrits whine when they even think an insult is sent their way after all their childish insults of Bush over the years.
The real news this day should be McCain's outline of his vision of a presidency. Public parliamentary question and answer sessions, straight talk on foreign policy, transparant government, etc.
Instead, the press concentrates on babyish back and forths like this article. I doubt this comment will stay posted because enough room must be left for the hateful rants of the Obamites.

Rock on Biden! Could not have said it better. Again mis informaiton is how the Republicans intend to win this election....reasonable doubt...fortunatley that goes both ways and most american have considerable reservations about how the GOP has managed this nation the last 8 years. Bush needs to go sit in the naughty corner. Not very nice to spread mean rumors Georgey.

Rick in NYC   May 15th, 2008 3:30 pm ET

Yeah Joe! President Obama will put an end to the senslessness of all this violence by not antagonizing our enemies like Mr. Bush has continued to do. Martin Luther King, Jr. said the only way to convert an enemy is through love. Now I'm not saying we have a big group hug with Al Qaeda, but if we take a mellower tone around the world, we may be able to lessen this nonsense. If that's appeasing, then fine. But it won't be that. I'm sure it will be careful and tactical and in everyone's best interests.

Blackwoman, Ohio   May 15th, 2008 3:29 pm ET

I hate to say this but I think that Bush was right. It would be irresponsible to meet with leaders of terrorist organizations. I am actually concerned that Obama is just not ready to be president. Nice guy but probably needs more experience.

However, I think it is wrong for Bush to interfere in the election and attack obama.

KBest   May 15th, 2008 3:29 pm ET

Really, the presidential idiotism of George Bush should be curbed for the sanity and safety of the American people. While he enjoys the accolades of a presidency and his daughters are busy marrying, American soldeirs are giving their lives in battle.

He should shut up and just ride out his remainder months before going into solitude of depression for his failure as an individual and as a president.

Good riddance of an unthoughtful and careless president. What a mistake for an America President.

It seems President Bush has hit a nerve with the Democrats and their candidates, especially Obama who has repeatedly stated he would sit down unconditionally with anyone! Biden has resorted to colorful language, even flat out lies, because the President has been unequivocable in not talking with Iran until they stop their nuclear program and Hamas until they argee to recognize the existence of Israel. Isn't politics wonderful? Even at the expense of national security.

Yankee Dog   May 15th, 2008 3:29 pm ET

President Bush is an evil, horrible little punk. History will judge him as the most incompetent, POTUS ever who led this country to the brink of total disaster. He has sullies the office he holds with these types of remarks on foreign soil. Can someone, anyone, name one good thing this idiot has done. He completely screws up everything he has done in life - and we're all paying the price. Our national nightmare is almost over. The next seven months will be long, way, way too long!

MD in GA   May 15th, 2008 3:29 pm ET

Good for you Senator Biden. November 08 and January 09 can't come fast enough for me.

David Turner   May 15th, 2008 3:29 pm ET

About time someone called it like it really is with this administration.

Peter   May 15th, 2008 3:28 pm ET

Barack, please choose Joe as your VP.

JW from Washington, DC   May 15th, 2008 3:28 pm ET

Finally! Someone needed to point out the hypocrisy of the Bush administration. Thank you Biden!

Mighty Mice   May 15th, 2008 3:28 pm ET

Where were the mighty DEMs when Obama played the race card and tried to paint the Clintons as racists? Right. Two of the greatest Americans to champion the rights of ALL Americans.

No one said anything then.

The left wingers giggled with glee when Hillary Clinton was the one bashed and trashed.

Don't expect our help now.

Too little too late. Obama lost my vote in SC.

James   May 15th, 2008 3:28 pm ET

Looks like we found Obama's veep!

Markeis   May 15th, 2008 3:28 pm ET

Thank you Mr. Biden that so many other people in the world says and their voice goes unheard.

That Jay guy from Canada   May 15th, 2008 3:28 pm ET

Did you notice Mr Bush had his lapel pin when he made that statement...Now that's patriotism !

Sesay from Fort Worth, Texas   May 15th, 2008 3:28 pm ET

President Bush should know that you cannot always win a war with a war. I think it is a time to change some of the policies the U.S. has towards foreign governments we do not agree with.
Please post this CNN.

E   May 15th, 2008 3:28 pm ET

Finally someone calls his policies for the last eight years exactly what they are......the 25% of you who still support this administration are straight up delusional and need to have your heads examined

zolo49   May 15th, 2008 3:28 pm ET

You still forgot to mask out one of the BS comments. ;-)

Nicole Martin   May 15th, 2008 3:27 pm ET

Bravo Biden. Everytime someone exercises their right of free speech to vocalize their outrage at Bush's repeated blunders, we are demonstrating patriotism in its truest form. How a nation as great as ours has let a moron like George Bush stay in office this long, I will never know.

christine   May 15th, 2008 3:27 pm ET

i am with bidden go demo dont let these people attack you stand for each other and fight this republican party that has put us in this big mess the war in iraq

David E   May 15th, 2008 3:26 pm ET

Good for you Joe! Say it like it is!

Mike Carlson   May 15th, 2008 3:26 pm ET

Love it.

Bush is talking BS!!!! What else is new?

Simply_Amazed   May 15th, 2008 3:26 pm ET

You go, Biden!

Tiffany   May 15th, 2008 3:26 pm ET

finally...someone said it!!! GO OBAMA!!!

CHERYL   May 15th, 2008 3:26 pm ET

GEORGE BUSH NEEDS TO JUST SHUT HIS MOUTH HE HAS DONE THIS COUNTRY SO MUCH HARM, I CAN NOT BELIEVE HE CAN EVEN BE ALLOWED TO TALK. HE IS EMBARRASING TO THIS COUNTRY

Slim from Seattle   May 15th, 2008 3:26 pm ET

I love this guy, Joe Biden. President Bush has been a Bullsh**ter he's got United Stated in to this WAR for nothing. Just caused us more money and more problems all around the world all because of this Idiot we call our President.

Obama 08.

Race Card   May 15th, 2008 3:26 pm ET

There will be a backlash against Obama in Nov.

He should not have played the race card.

That knife still cuts both ways.

Dick   May 15th, 2008 3:25 pm ET

And he calls himself a presidential candidate. sounds like trash talk from the play ground. Are we that hard up for leadership in this country-if we are we are is a lot of trouble.

Barbara E., New York, NY   May 15th, 2008 3:25 pm ET

You tell 'em, Joltin' Joe.

VOTE DEMOCRAT 08!   May 15th, 2008 3:25 pm ET

Another reason why I love being a Democrat!

Ollie In Augusta   May 15th, 2008 3:25 pm ET

THANK YOU Senator!! I am so glad that somebody will check this moron on his rhetoric. Diplomacy is one of the national elements of power. How can we use it if we refuse to talk to anyone? Wasn't it President Kewnnedy who said, "We should not talk out of fear but we shouldn't be afraid to talk."

Getting tired of this   May 15th, 2008 3:25 pm ET

I'm starting to feel good about Obama's chances now. As the Republicans steep themselves in Karl Rove's dog-eared playbook of fear and smear, the country has moved on and too many Americans will simply not allow ourselves to be duped by that kind of politics. Not this time.

You've played the fear card a few too many times folks and it increasingly reflects on your lack of respect for the American voter and your lack of leadership rather than having the effect you want it to.
A united party of Obama, the Clintons, Edwards, Biden, Richardson, Pelosi, et al are about to sweep the floor with you. Enjoy early retirement

A.J.   May 15th, 2008 3:25 pm ET

Wouah, well I thought GWB had said it all, but NOOOOO, he comes back for the Home run.
And the worst isn't that he said it, it is all those people who actually agree with what he said...those people should get some history courses!!!

Frank   May 15th, 2008 3:25 pm ET

GO, JOE! I would have voted for you for President.

But as long as you're at it, why don't you take McCain to task for the Hamas BS he's trying to smear Obama with.

McCain is dishing the same right-wing, fear-mongering filth that comes out of the Bush administration.

God sent him   May 15th, 2008 3:25 pm ET

Joe, Mr. Bush won't do anything re fireing Condi or Gates. He is the worst President the US ever see and if the people go for Mccain he will be the second worst.

Fidel Castro said in his speach 2000 when Bush won the election in the Supreme Court. Quote " I hope he is not as stupid as how he look" He did prove to the world that he is stupid. I am not suprise with his speach in Israel.

John, Danville, PA   May 15th, 2008 3:25 pm ET

Bush "has increased the number of terrorists in the world"??! I beg to differ.

I think it's obvious that the liberals caused this increase - the terrorists get so irritated when they hear that gay marriage has been upheld in California, that they abandon their families and devote their entire lives to jihad against the U.S.

They really hate our freedoms.

MIKE B.   May 15th, 2008 3:25 pm ET

WELL SAID MR. BIDEN. WELL SAID. BUSH SPEAKS AS IF IS LOSING HIS MIND.

Asta la victoria Siempre   May 15th, 2008 3:24 pm ET

the GOP will use and say anything to destroy our democracy... (who do they remind you of.. power at all cost..)

Remember they will use:

fear
lies
fear
lies
racism
division
isms

that is their trademark, we know who use that and what the end results are........this is the USA, and we have come a long way so for the GOP and the clitnonistas to continue to use these isms and tactics, is unacceptable

Yes We Can _ the American people are not stupid as some have implied _ (winnk wink, Bush, Clinton, Limbaugh, McCain, Billy boo, and the far right..)

Jerry Johnson   May 15th, 2008 3:24 pm ET

Right On Joe!! Tell it like it is!

naomi straney   May 15th, 2008 3:24 pm ET

good for you – Joe Biden!!!
I couldn't agree more.

Gerald - London, Uk   May 15th, 2008 3:24 pm ET

FOOD FOR THOUGHT ===============

Why is Bush negotiating with North Korea at the moment if talking to our enemies is sooooo bad? Is North Korea not supposed to be part of the axis of evil along with Iran & Syria?

Why did Bush strike a deal with Ghadafi of Libya? Did he not arrange the mid-air bombing of Pan Am flight over scotland, among other terrorist acts?

Why is Bush paying and negotiating with the Iraqi insurgents? Have they ceased to be terrorists?

Hypocrisy!!!

Superdelegate   May 15th, 2008 3:24 pm ET

Good Job Biden!

If only   May 15th, 2008 3:24 pm ET

If only the DNC had not swiftboated Hillary Clinton.

If only Obama hadn't played and overplayed the race card.

If only the drooling media hadn't trashed Hillary.

Then Obama would still have MY vote.

wwf   May 15th, 2008 3:24 pm ET

Roger. I think that crack and stupidity have already taken their toll on you.

Don C.   May 15th, 2008 3:24 pm ET

God love, ya, Joe!

Dan   May 15th, 2008 3:23 pm ET

I couldn't agree more with Senator Biden. Bush is a complete joke. Nobody takes anything he says seriously anyway.

WFK   May 15th, 2008 3:23 pm ET

Biden got it right.

Sam   May 15th, 2008 3:23 pm ET

Biden, you are my hero!

Wes   May 15th, 2008 3:23 pm ET

hmmm and some people actually thought Bush was right. Well there you have it a President that doesn't want to listen to his own staff or those who know better out of stubborness. Sounds like another situation I read about, somthing about a gas tax i believe( they're experts for a reason).

Obama 08

Dems 08

Any 1 but McCain

Ian   May 15th, 2008 3:23 pm ET

I guess Biden doesn't like straight talk...oh, wait, he never has. I don't know how plagiarizer and known liar gets away with making comments such as this. Bush is spot on with his comments and history reminds us that this is absolutely true. Anyone who sees Iran as innocent is absolutely delusional and incapable of decision making.

Bud in NC   May 15th, 2008 3:23 pm ET

Hey folks. This guy Bush has been brain dead since he was hatched. What comes out of his mouth is gastric gas fermented by Karl Rove. I am a Clinton primary voter who will vote for Obama in Nov because he will be the Dem candidate. Let Bush have it Barak.

YO   May 15th, 2008 3:23 pm ET

Tell us about Prescott Bush, Dubya.

Steven Elliott   May 15th, 2008 3:23 pm ET

Bravo, Senator. We need more straight talk in DC. We are all adults.

Phil Newton Murphy, Oregon   May 15th, 2008 3:23 pm ET

Go, Joe!

Now THAT'S straight talk.

Biden is too late.

The DNC and the left wingers damaged their best candidate.

It is too late to rally around the Obama now.

Write in Hillary Clinton

Absolutely!! Bush's grasp on reality and his own culpability is pathetic.

Kentucky Man   May 15th, 2008 3:22 pm ET

Its official, President Bush is out of touch with his own cabinet secretaries. He only has a couple of months left and a new President will have the opportunity to fix the screwup from the 43rd President of the United States of America

James L   May 15th, 2008 3:21 pm ET

Finally. ... Somebody has made it plain and clear. ... George Bush is an idoit !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gil Galvan   May 15th, 2008 3:21 pm ET

Biden is sour grapes and a has been. He is a self centered self serving Rube. His foul language is a reflection of himself.

I agree   May 15th, 2008 3:21 pm ET

I didn't vote for the arrogant, cocky dismissive Bush- either time.

I won't be voting for the cocky, jeering, mocking Obama, either.

Maryann - Orlando, FL   May 15th, 2008 3:21 pm ET

Hey, I was really looking forward to reading the comments about this! And there aren't any. It was the 'bullsh**' thing, wasn't it? :)

What's up, CNN?

Charlotte   May 15th, 2008 3:21 pm ET

EXACTLY! Biden has redeemed himself! I'm loving the Dems who are telling it like it is this year! This is really our time to take back America from the liars and the cheaters who've held it hostage.

Heather   May 15th, 2008 3:21 pm ET

You go Joe! It's about time someone in a leadership position had the backbone to really say how badly Bush has screwed everything up and to call him out for being the liar that he is. To paint the Dems as the ones who have caused the problem here is the biggest joke ever.

Joe Biden for Secretary of State in the Obama Administration!

Jim   May 15th, 2008 3:21 pm ET

The President can say what he wants, when he wants, so long as he's not playing golf.
Good Lord when's his last day?

Fred   May 15th, 2008 3:20 pm ET

Awesome. Go Biden.

Deb   May 15th, 2008 3:20 pm ET

Could not have said it better. Way to go Vice President Biden.

Soldier   May 15th, 2008 3:20 pm ET

Bush is a moron. How did this nitwit get to become the president of the most powerful country in the world? Look at the American economy, the iraqi war, the mortgage melt down and the alarming rate at which terrorists are multiplying all over the world? And he still has the courage to fuel the fires he caused? Unbelievable!

don't worry, be happy   May 15th, 2008 3:20 pm ET

Don't worry, the voters will tell Obama, "hold on sweetie" as we write in Hillary Clinton.

Nikolas   May 15th, 2008 3:19 pm ET

Awesome. I wish more Senators would just say what they're thinking. Awesome. New respect for Biden.

Greg   May 15th, 2008 3:19 pm ET

Nice to see you can be a complete loon and still successful in life

JC   May 15th, 2008 3:19 pm ET

It's about time our senators start straight talking. Thank you Biden for taking the gloves off. We have a lame duck President who still manages to keep stepping in it. I appreciate you calling him on his crap and calling it like it is. If all our leaders stopped politicking and started pointing out the inconsistencies, we might start changing America back – to a strong country that truly provides leadership and (dare I say) vision to the rest of the world.

Gorbashov, Long Beach, Ca.   May 15th, 2008 3:19 pm ET

Hillary is the only one suited for the job.

I couldn't agree more. Joe Biden knows from where he speaks.
George Bush's understanding of foreign policy is on par with most Americans' understanding of the psychotic mind.
How many decades will it take to repair the damage he's done to the planet's perception of the U.S.?

Jay   May 15th, 2008 3:18 pm ET

Amen!

Rick DC   May 15th, 2008 3:18 pm ET

TiffIn in Ohio   May 15th, 2008 3:18 pm ET

Yes, Yes, Yes!! It's time someone called George Bush on his continued dumb, divisive and idiotic statements. We need to hear John McCain reject and denounce his President. George Bush needs a great senate beat down on this one.

Jack in Manhattan Beach   May 15th, 2008 3:17 pm ET

Joe Biden...you're the greatest! You call it like it is. We f**ing love you! Bush is an idiot. Fact finding is hardly what you'd call appeasement...unless you're a paranoid ill-informed arrogant airhead like Bush.

I have a few choice words for Bush, but CNN won't post them.

Andy in ATL   May 15th, 2008 3:17 pm ET

Sounds like the Dems doth protest too much...

Obviously, the criticism strikes too close to home for their comfort.

The President was obviously way out of line to articulate the stated position of the Democratic Party in general, and Senator Obama in specific (July 2007 debate).

Let me guess...

If you point out Senator Obama's position on issues, you're a racist, right?

Ken   May 15th, 2008 3:17 pm ET

You could have titled this post "Why Ken Loves Joe Biden" (although I imagine that would have appealed to a much smaller audience). Say what you will about him, you can't say he's afraid to call it as he sees it. In this case, he has called it correctly.

Justin Athens Ohio   May 15th, 2008 3:17 pm ET

Thanks You Sen. Biden. If Barack was in the situation to speak out this strongly he would. We should all understand that this was an attack on every liberal. The Bushmaster is questioning our morals that make us Democrats. Vote DEMOCRAT 08'.... OBAMA 08'

What Bush has said not only crosses the line and beneath the Office of the Presidency of the United State of America but also un-american in its reflection on the democratic candidates who are running for the same office. Bush has shown himself, again, to be a total idiot and will go down in history as unfit for the office he currently holds. January 2009 cannot come fast enough send this imbecile back to Texas where he belongs.

Andy B   May 15th, 2008 3:16 pm ET

I am really disappointed at CNN for interrupting Barack Obama's speech after John Edwards' endorsement so that they can air Lou Dobbs' segment. Shouldn't you be covering the election?

Frankly, I am sick of Lou Dobbs' and his bias opinions. He is rude to his guests and all he wants is to hear himself talk. Why bother having a panel when he keeps on interrupting them.

Let them talk!

Gates: "need to figure out a way to develop some leverage and then sit down and talk with them."

How can one come to peaceful terms when one is looking for "leverage" before coming to discussions? True negotiations aren't fairly settled with one man holding the gun and the other wearing a blindfold.

Becky Midles   May 15th, 2008 3:13 pm ET

Senator Biden is exactly right. Desperate to leave a legacy, Bush is acting in an impulsive and destructive manner. This latest "Bush Moment" conjures an image of the gun toting cowboy facing an imagined enemy at high noon in a deserted town – with no one watching or caring. Can we really survive another 6.5 months of this administration?

The T   May 15th, 2008 3:13 pm ET

Good for Joe Biden. Bulls**t is BS! Biden's remarks about Bush are correct. He's weakened us. He's increased the # of terrorists in the world. He has made us vulnerable....

Obama understands the need for communication with our enemies, as well as our allies & those who claim neutrality. How else will we survive?

Not safe for us at home anymore. Not safe for us abroad. Welcome to the 21st century. Gee, thanks, Mr. Bush.

Waldo   May 15th, 2008 3:12 pm ET

THANK YOU, BIDEN!

And thank you CNN for at least not "editing" the naughty word in the actual quote. It's refreshing to finally be treated like an adult reader by the media. Now could you please try not to similarly redact other potentially "offensive" images like the troops flag-covered coming home? There is true value in the unfiltered communication of stark reality to the American public.

Joe Biden is an idiot. He really is about as stupid as they come. I'm a democrat and I'm pushing the McCain wagon right now. I may not agree with the President, but I have to say he has stuck his neck out and stayed the course. Again, Joe Biden is an idiot.

Al   May 15th, 2008 3:12 pm ET

It's about time some Dems grew a pair and starting calling Bush on his BS. Good work Joe!

Michael - Sacramento, CA   May 15th, 2008 3:12 pm ET

On the one hand, it is truly sad that the Presidency has been brought to a state of such disrepute that such words could be openly addressed to a sitting President by any member of Congress.

On the other hand, I am glad that FINALLY the Dems, or some of them at least, are showing signs of backbone. It is definitely past time that the constant bulls**t shoveled out by this administration be named for what it is.

DNC sucks   May 15th, 2008 3:12 pm ET

Senator Biden has only ever spoken brutal truth and this is one example of it. I think it would have been good to have a president like him who spoke his mind with integrity rather than a veil of political correctness. He is believable, rational, strong and has wisdom the whole world could use more of. What he said, I agree with 100% and it doesn't bother me one bit that he said a cussword. It does bother me that people will blow this out of proportion and tell him he can't control his mouth. Biden is not someone who lacks control, but is committed to telling the truth to the American people THE WAY THAT IT IS.

Sylvia   May 15th, 2008 3:11 pm ET

Way to go!! Give it to them, Joe.

Kim   May 15th, 2008 3:11 pm ET

Biden you are fierce and fearless!

Imran   May 15th, 2008 3:11 pm ET

If the democratic base had focused more on substance and less or style, Sen. Biden would have been the democratic nominee.

He is one of the most knowledgeable person w.r.t. Foreign policy in Washington.

In this hour of international crisis, he is one of the best individual to lead this nation.

I say that after staying outside the US for 21 years.
I say that being a Muslim.
I say that after seeing the values and the respect for Law here in the US.

The US is the best country on the planet. This mis-guided war on terror will ruin it.

Guillaume   May 15th, 2008 3:11 pm ET

Thank you, Senator Biden. It is about time that someone get the courage to tell it like it is.

Matt   May 15th, 2008 3:11 pm ET

Right on, Sen. Biden! Tell it like it is. I am thrilled to see someone of your stature take on Bush like this.

What Bush said was a disgrace and a pack of lies. What a pathetic president, and what a pathetic human being. Ugh.

RLG   May 15th, 2008 3:11 pm ET

Give 'em hell, Joe.
What a deceptive, conniving, lying rodent he is.
It's refreshing to see someone calling him on it. The rest of the Democratic party needs to take note, and grow a spine.

I cannot believe this man that has done more damage to US credibility in the world stage than any other US president. The man that brought his only partner in the world stage, Mr Blair down for being his poppet. For Bush to come up with such a crazy accusations is just beyond me.

Considering his dismal track record in the last 8 years, he is probably the least qualified president in US history to celebrate the anniversary of state of Israel. He should go and shut up just like Blair and disappear from public life like Blair had to do in UK. These two losers never helped anyone in Middle East including the Israelis.

You will not solve anything in that part of the world unless you talk to everyone on the stage and try and make everyone's lives better, and that including both Israelis as well as Palestinians.

This is easily the most fun election in years!!!

James R   May 15th, 2008 3:10 pm ET

What is this? Serious hard-nosed truth from Washington? Wow, Mr. Biden...I applaud you for telling it like it is. Now, if yourself, and the rest of the Senate and Congress would tell the REST of the truth, about how screwed up this country is because of the current administration, who apparently got their education from a combination of G.I. Joe cartoons and evangelistic ramblings....then maybe together we could send a message to the rest of the world...after we delivered the criminals to the courts.

Stand tall, Stand true....not many people will.

Paul O   May 15th, 2008 3:10 pm ET

I,dont understand how one cannot sit with somebody that calls you his enemy and at least find out his grouse? Now everybody wants to kill Americans because we are not talking, we are not even trying to know why 'they hate us so much'. I dont think it is a sign of weakness to talk. It is a sign of strenght. Bush keeps messing up everything.

I am so glad we only have to listen to Bush for another few months. And why would he do that over seas. I think what Bush did is equvilant to a husband talking about his sppouse in public...very poor taste.

Ana   May 15th, 2008 3:09 pm ET

You go, Joe!! Bush was absolutely ridiculous to make that kind of comment ... especially while in another country!

Mike   May 15th, 2008 3:09 pm ET

I couldn't agree more. You should read what Pelosi, Kerry, and others have said as well.

Kris from AZ   May 15th, 2008 3:09 pm ET

Probably the most qualified man to be President is RIGHT! Bush is just flaming the fear fires is all he is doing. As well as flaming the fire of anti american sentiment in the middle east. I cant wait till Bush administration is gone.

Veteran in Kansas   May 15th, 2008 3:08 pm ET

It's about time that this is said by a elected official. The Bush doctrine has weakened this nation and placed it at risk. Talk does not equal appeasment, no talk equals isolationalism and firmentaion of issues.

We need to deal with issues head on in a mature diplomatic way, that is not the way of the Bush adminstration.

Susan Missouri   May 15th, 2008 3:08 pm ET

Shakur   May 15th, 2008 3:08 pm ET

This my friends is why we are seen as fools in the eyes of the world because we have gone along with this crap from President Bush for almost eight years. I cannot wait until this guy gets out of Washiington and goes back to Crawford and think about all the damage and lives he has cost sense he's been in office.

And we'd be even more stupid to accept another four years of Bush (through McCain) who would keep in place the policies that has torn this country into shreds! I agree with you 100% Biden! We need someone like you who has common sense and expertise dealing with foreign policy matters because neither Bush nor McSane gets it!

Oh God We Need Democrats In Office!!   May 15th, 2008 3:08 pm ET

Look, you have to speak with your enemies, it only makes sense. If you dont talk to them even just to let them hear you say hello America can get a sense of what these organizations are about. Its alot better than being bombed and wondering What and Why?

Also Hamas is an elected governemnt official so we want the middle east to have democracy and they voted terroist. Whats the difference we voted Stupid and Flat Out Retarded with no care for this nation twice!!! We need a change America please be smart Harvard smart and vote Obama In 08

Terry   May 15th, 2008 3:08 pm ET

Good OL' Joe. What a stupid comment to make about a sitting president. It is no wonder that he'll never be a serious contender for president himself. It is his party that caused 9/11. When we have a weak president like Clinton or the rest of the Dems (bunch of sissy's) who are afraid to confront our enemies, we are sitting ducks. The Dems are the ones who make us look weak in the world. Their weakness caused 9/11.

Evan   May 15th, 2008 3:08 pm ET

Tell 'em Joe! Seriously, if more people stood up to the ridiculousness we would be much better off. Truly, Condi, Gates, Patraeus, Powell... all good people. If they had only had the balls to stand up to the few, the weak, the Cheney/Rumsfeld/Bush mockery of the Constitution, the world and peace and reason in general, we might not have gotten in to this mess to begin with.

Willam from Texas   May 15th, 2008 3:07 pm ET

What do expect from Bush, rationality? He hasn't displayed any in the 7+ years he has been in office. I wouldn't expect him to be rational in the last months of his presidency.

Dal CA Republican   May 15th, 2008 3:07 pm ET

Hey Bush just does not know what he is saying. Keep this up Mr. President we need you to keep poking this sort of remarks at the democrats. You are the #1 Mis Speaker. With your remarks we will have Mr OBAMA in the whitehouse soon.

Phil From VA   May 15th, 2008 3:07 pm ET

Here we go again. Bush and his scare tactics. How dare you use this occasion on foreign soil to launch attacks? Get out of our white house and stay in Texas. BS.

Rita   May 15th, 2008 3:07 pm ET

This is an outrageous statement from the President of the United States. This can not be brushed aside. He is involving the world into our political system. Clearly it is an attack on Obama! I would like to see more of our elected officials come out and condemn the Presidents remarks. We will never bring about world peace unless communication between those with views who differ from ours is immplemented.

Bush inherited the fallout of his predecessor, Bill Clinton's, soft approach on terrorism. For Senator Biden to say that it is the current President's fault is the pot calling the kettle black!

Obama is a no win for dems   May 15th, 2008 3:07 pm ET

I can't believe the day would come when I would agree with Bush. I disagree with Bush on just about every pssible thing, except this. I totally agree that Senator Obama is the wrong person to handle terrorism in this country. He has a terrorist that he calls friend. One of the people resposible for the start of Obama's political career in Illinois, an admitted, proud terrorist. Since he seems to have no problem with that, I would look to see the Iranian prime minister, Hommas, and even Bin Laden himself invited to the white house to have a nice little sit down with Obama. None of this would suprise me. Senator Obama is the worse possible candidate to combat terrorism.

Logic Man   May 15th, 2008 3:07 pm ET

The President finds fault in situations that only benefit him and his party. It's ok if Condi or Gates says that. Republican foreign policy is seemingly pure idiocy for the most part. When has not speaking to enemies or people you disagree with ever solved a problem? It's just like when family members don't speak for twenty years over some silly family dispute. They go on with their lives, but the problem remains and they never speak. But take a family that decides the sit the rivaling family members down to talk. They often resolve the dispute instead of continuing to waste time not speaking to one another. Resolving issues involves communication on any level. But if you are a thick headed globalist or neo-con then it's either their way or no way. That's unfortunate and unacceptable. Obama in '08.

"if the president disagrees so strongly with the idea of talking to Iran then he needs to fire his secretaries of State and Defense, both of whom Biden said have pushed to sit down with the Iranians."

-The President wasn't referring to Iran with that statement. He was talking about Hamas. There's a difference.

Steve, Seattl   May 15th, 2008 3:06 pm ET

right on, Joe....wish more senators would call it as it is instead of dancing around the political rhetoric of it all.

Glad to hear someone say that word out loud in regards to Bush, it was long overdue. The most powerfull nation on earth has been reduced to a scared society because of him and his cronies. I think when you have the courage to sit down face to face with your enemies as opposed to name calling on TV from half way around the world you stand a better chance of scaring the heck out of them if you are coming from a position of power.

I respect his opinion, but he should not be swearing. All it does is cheapen his argument. Gain respect by giving respect, even if it's to a President who is very unpopular and has made many mistakes. However, at some point a reality check is in order, and Bush must come to terms with his choices and be held responsible for the advice of his Republican peers.

CHICANO ART, ARIZONA   May 15th, 2008 3:05 pm ET

I believe that this kind of outburst goes directly against the idea of civilized diplomacy. If we cannot keep politicians in our own country from fighting and making rash decisions, how do you expect us to convice us that we can talk our way through the conflict with Iran. Iran is a country that is leading a covert war against US troops in Iraq. His proxy army is lauching attacks in Lebanon. This war as already started.
Why does Obama think he can talk to them? He said he is a Christian. He must know that Iranian leaders do not share his values. It must be because he is really a muslim. He is at least sympathetic to their views. Remember Rev. Wright believes the US had 9/11 coming to us. I forgot Obama does not have ties to the man who brought him to Christianity. He is not a Christian.

We don't have any business talking to Iran other than to draw a line in the sand of what we will allow and what we wont. There is nothing to talk about. They want western civilization to be wiped off the map. The radical Islam leaders actually believe that God wants us all dead. So just what does Joe, one the far left, plan to do? Typical statement by a Democrat. Biden has his head so far up the posterior of the left that he's beginning to see images of Hillary and Obama.

All American   May 15th, 2008 3:03 pm ET

I do think that sitting down and talking to leaders of other countries would be the wise thing to do. If you went to the table with carrots and sticks as Hillary said. ( such as Iran)

But I am against sitting down with People like Hamas. He would never make an agreement that he intended to keep. People like him only have hate and destruction on thier mind. You would have to be a fool to trust them. Did the terrorist talk to us before 9-11 ? They had no reason to attack us like that. (that was before Iraq remember?) These people would see that as an act of weekness or fear. They know where the United states stands, let them make the first move. Then we would be in a better position to set the ground rules.

Good for you, Senator Biden! It's about time someone got pissed off. He just said what we were all thinking. Probably not a good idea to cuss, but if that's what gets the message across – that conservative foreign policy is the reason we're in such a mess right now, and Bush and the G.O.P. are hypocrites and liars for trying to pin it on liberals – then so be it. Once again, Good for you, Joe.

Biden is right. Bush has taken us down a dark, deadly road. He has lessened our strength. He has made us a mockery in the world. McCain will lead us farther down this road and it could lead to our destruction. There is no "appeasement". It's just makes good strategic sense.

Right on Joe.

It's a bit lnsane. Doesn't the President know that the internet exists, and that people use it to find out that Gates and Rice have both suggested discussions with Iranian leadership?

What a low blow from a guy with no credibility. And for McCain to just tag along as if Bush said anything credible.

Neil   May 15th, 2008 3:01 pm ET

History will judge Bush as THE most incompetent, uneducated, and stubborn "President" the United States has ever had.

No one cares what nonsense comes out of his mouth. I'd trust a 5 year olds foreign policy to Bush's.

TW   May 15th, 2008 3:01 pm ET

Way to call this out, Senator. Thank you for your candor in exposing these criminals, their hypocrisies and lies. What a disgrace these last eight years have been and theyre still at it. Unbelievable.

Sandro   May 15th, 2008 3:01 pm ET

You tell him, Joe! Bush seems to have lost his 'bearings' too... I have several adjectives to discribe him: ignorant, pathetic, liar, dishonest, unfair, gun-ho, etc. Please help me find more adjectives!!

Jesse   May 15th, 2008 3:00 pm ET

FINALLY! Thank you Joe Biden!! It is nice to see someone with the conviction to say what everyone knows. It is a shame more persons in government lack the courage to stand up and take Bush to task for his stupidity.

What has he done so much for Israell? Is Israel l any safer than when he became president? Are president's Bush's policies helping us here and abroad? Is he urging Israel to do a hit job on Obama?

Of course this is BS, and after 8 years we should all know not to trust George Bush. BUT –targeting Obama will be like shooting fish in a barrell. For an intelligent man, he hasn't the common sense to know when or even how to get out of the rain. He brings Wright, Ayers, Rezko - just a whole lot of nonsense that he can't deal with and that the media ignored - to the table. What is wrong with us? This should have been the easiest presidency for the Democrats to win, but we are letting the most viable and capable candidate, Senator Clinton, slip through out fingers. I blame all the Obama supporters for the inevitable election of McCain!

alexis   May 15th, 2008 2:55 pm ET

Right on, Joe. I think you should be Secretary of State for the Obama presidency. Bush has definitely lost his marbles.

MD   May 15th, 2008 2:53 pm ET

Good for you Biden. No one has stood up to this nicompoop for 8 years. It is time to stand up and say enough is enough.

Bush should have been impeached after he lied to the American people about the WMD's in Iraq. Democrats in congress are just as guilty as he is. For 5 years, they signed off on his budget requests for this stupid war. They only have their own gutless selves to blame.

Supporting Bush in his outragous approach to 9/11 leaves blood of 4000+ Amricans on the hands of the administartion and the congress who blindly followed Bush like a beat up poppy.

CNN: Please publish this. Thanks.

Deb n Texas   May 15th, 2008 2:53 pm ET

I WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND WHY HE WASN'T SUPPORTED BY WHOEVER THE INSIDERS ARE THAT PROVIDE MONEY AT THE BEGINNING, THEREBY TRULY DETERMINING WHO WE EVEN GET TO CHOOSE FROM! HE IS IS THE MOST HONEST, EXPERIENCED, TRIED-AND-TRUE, TELL-IT-LIKE-IT-IS, PRACTICAL YET CREATIVE OF THEM ALL. OBAMA IS A NEWBIE; H. CLINTON MUST FIGHT ON TO TAKE A WOMAN AS FAR AS POSSIBLE (KUDOS TO YOU HILLARY) BUT JOE BIDEN SHOULD BE THE NOMINEE.

I have rarely (if ever) approved of anything President Bush has said or done, however, I whoelheartedly agree with his comments this time.

We must not appease or pander to terrorists or terrorist nations or elect Presidents who want to.

It has never worked and never will.

We must not become a socialist country, we must remain free.

Gary of El Centro, Ca   May 15th, 2008 2:52 pm ET

Great comment Senator Biden. There is no better way of putting it. For Bush, and now McCain, to slam Democrats for wanting to open discussions with a "terrorist" state at a time when we are currently holding talks with North Korea, and recently bragged about our negotiations with Libya, is politics at its absolute worst.

Robert from Washington   May 15th, 2008 2:52 pm ET

The last eight years remind me of a story my brother told me about the time he rented a Bobcat. Within an hour my bro had wrecked his lawn. "It's amazing," he said, "what damage a fool on a Bobcat can do in a short time."
Or with the presidency. About time the Democrats started applying some knuckles and well placed kicks to this fool. Go, Joe, go. BS it is.

John - Virginia Beach   May 15th, 2008 2:51 pm ET

Joe Biden is one of those individuals that Bark Obama should consdier for Vice President. We need somone who is seasoned and a straight talker; not somone who is TOLD what to say.

Good for you Joe! Call that loser of a president on his record.
The silence of his response should be deafening

DvlsAdvocat   May 15th, 2008 2:50 pm ET

I'm glad to hear that Dems are calling Bush on his bull**it, after 8 years of it being force fed to the world. Sadly, its only now that the Congressional Dems are finding enough backbone to make a forceful statement. Where have you been these last 8 years? You've been carefully avoiding the wave of public opinion, instead of creating it.....and the fabric of our country is worse for it.

So sad.

mary j.   May 15th, 2008 2:50 pm ET

I it a shame that a sitting president to go to another country and use , the oppunity to send cheat , lying shots about the man who maybe our next president. How dare he, (the leader of our great unit states) - use what's left of our country's pride for potical gain. All americans demorcrates, republicain, independs show be insulted by this dsiplay.

Hahaha....Biden told it like it is!
Bush is so dumb he didn't even realize two of his top people, one being Coni Rice said that we should sit down and talk with Iran.
Is ignorance is rampant, deplorable, and down right frightening.
He is why the entire world hates American.
Oh,and John McCain agreeing with him tells how out of touch he is.
What morons.
No wonder the world laughs at us and hates us.
Bush is the worst president ever!

drdave   May 15th, 2008 2:49 pm ET

So true, so true.

George Bush has weakened the United States militarily, economically, ethically and morally.

And these results have been deliberate policy, not stupidity.

joel smith   May 15th, 2008 2:49 pm ET

I've always liked Joe. In the beginning of the primary debates, I thought he stood a head above the others: it certainly would not have distressed me if he became the candidate. He's exactly right here. Call it what it is. Bush is the one who is delusional. Trouble is , there are poor fools out there who will believe Bush...even after all this crap. Biden is the guy with the straight talk. Give 'em hell, Joe!

Brian, Dayton, OH   May 15th, 2008 2:49 pm ET

Good lord...you are just reacting NOW to what the President says is bull? Nothing but that has been coming out of his mouth for almost seven years now.

Where were you when statements like this could have prevented him from weakening us?

The McBush Middle East Polcies are an orgasm of intellectual anarchy, gross deficiencies in judgment, and have made America less safe. I think it is time for Americans to loudly object to the anti-American policies inherent in the McBush dogma. Republicans came to power in 1994 using a shame and blame strategy acccompanied by good old racism. After years of their own shame being in the news there is little room to try to shame Democrats without appearing like hypocrites. So now they try to put fear into people. Apparently they do not trust the intellect of us plebians.

Go Joe! Violence is the failure of diplomacy and the current administration proves that point on a daily basis.

foye joslin   May 15th, 2008 2:48 pm ET

Thank God for the likes of Joe Biden who can speak the truth to power. Bush is a buffoon and I cringe every time he opens his mouth. Does he ever consider that a peaceful approach just might work miracles? He boo-hoo's the death of soldiers yet does not one thing to try a different approach to war. I'm sick of him.

Bart Windrum   May 15th, 2008 2:48 pm ET

Hallelujah for some straight talk from a politician. Kudos to Biden for speaking it.

Jeff   May 15th, 2008 2:48 pm ET

Good for you Joe! I wish more politicians would come down hard on Bush's BS. BTW U.S. Intelligence found no link between Iran and weapons in Iraq, but we know for a fact that Insurgents are getting help from Saudi Arabia. Why are we so against a country that has never attacked us and so friendly with a country that uses oil to squeez our economy and finance terrorsts?

Very proud to see members of my party start standing up to President Bush's lies and political posturing. Karl Rove and the Republicans came into office hoping to install a 50-year Republican majority and yet they have paved the way for President Obama and his overwhelmingly Democratic congress. We will heal this nation.

Jim   May 15th, 2008 2:46 pm ET

I love Joe Biden....But I would redirect what Biden said back to Obama.

This is BS...This is malarkey. This is outrageous. Outrageous for the Democratic nominee to say that he will meet with terrorist nations WITHOUT preconditions.

Mr. Obama you should be ashamed for those inexperienced and naive remarks.

MIKE   May 15th, 2008 2:45 pm ET

RIGHT ON SEN BIDEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BUSH HAS GONE WAY OVER THE LINE.

Ryan   May 15th, 2008 2:45 pm ET

Thank you Joe Biden! You said what needed to be said! Ever think of running for President yourself? I'd vote for you!

c j kavanagh   May 15th, 2008 2:45 pm ET

Gotta love Joe Biden. Here is probably the foremost foreign relations expert in the legislature utterly flabberghasted by Dubya's comments. Thank god this clown is done in January.

Obama + Pelosi = incompetence. When will demcrats learn? If Obama could not handle Clinton during anyone of the hundreds of debates, what makes Obamaites think he is remotely capable to the task of meetign with Iran or Hamas? Obama is weak and will rely on Pelosi and Kennedy for strength. An admininstration that far left is destin to fail. Bush, for once, has it right.

Not a republican, but against Obama '08.

About time someone talks to Bush in a way he understands! Being from Texas myself, Bush should get these words.

Kathy, Phoenix, AZ   May 15th, 2008 2:45 pm ET

Same old story...they accuse others for the wrongs that they themselves are committing. I hope Biden can further this argument and demand answers from the Bush Aministration. I'm bored with Hillary trying to figure out a graceful way to get out anyway. Let's go after Bush and create even more leverage for Obama in the Fall!

T-Dallas   May 15th, 2008 2:45 pm ET

Hey Biden maybe you should pull your head out and wake up.

ianentenmann@yahoo.com   May 15th, 2008 2:45 pm ET

Straight up!

It was about time somebody spoke the truth to these ignorant backward policies that have set us back decades. We must regain our standing in the world. Bush's mishandling of our foreign policy will need years of reparing and vision to help us stay strong and respected around the world.

Why does Obama and the HEAD OF THE DEMOCRATS think that everything that is said is about them. I am a lifelong DEMOCRAT that has had enough with PELOSI, DEAN, and the likes. I have never vote for BUSH but what he said I think was not about the Democrats. Hillary Clinton also said she would not sit down and talk with these people, and I feel the same way. WHY IS IT THAT EVER TIME Obama slips that a top DEMOCRAT runs to his rescue.

HILLARY CLINTON as a INDEPENDENT in the FALL ELECTION.

Me, Cheyenne, WY   May 15th, 2008 2:42 pm ET

Bush speaks the truth. The dems have long wanted to surrender to the terrorists.

There hasnt been an attack in the US under Bush's watch since 9/11. Al Qaeda was a direct result of Clinton's policies and his non intervention when the WTC was attacked in '93 and the USS Cole in 2000.

Bush is a foolish simpleton, he proves it again and again. His mendacity and scheming know no bounds. There is a reason he and his father have bought so much land in a nation which does not recognize any extradition treaties. You wonder why the Republicans are failing all over? They fail to see that they are led by evil men.

Rick   May 15th, 2008 2:38 pm ET

Democrats Unite... If McCain gets in office... look forward to more alienation in the world and more war!!!

This Republican Leadership that has been established by Bush, Cheney, Rove, and Rumsfield must go.

Oh, hell yes.

Divided we Fail   May 15th, 2008 2:37 pm ET

These kinds of GOP tactics are only beginning- we cannot afford to bicker among ourselves while the Swift-boaters take notes and prepare for battle.

America's greatest strength is our system of compromise. If your candidate didn't get the nomination- GET OVER IT and rally the party. Think the system is broke? Do something positive about it! Ranting divisive ultimatums here ain't gonna fix it.

Celebrate what we have in common, champion your agenda, then accept compromise- it's what made this country great.

John   May 15th, 2008 2:35 pm ET

Senator Biden may have disagreed with President Bush, but his reaction demonstrates an even greater immaturity than his opponent. Senator Biden is hypocritical to accuse the president of infantile behavoir while acting in the same manner.

james Pa   May 15th, 2008 2:35 pm ET

David   May 15th, 2008 2:34 pm ET

Nice to see that the political correctness is FINALLY going out the window. I am so sick and tired of hearing people in this country sugar coat things and spin them. Joe Biden's comments are only the start of a major revolution coming to this country, regardless of whether the right wing neo cons or the left wing nut jobs agree with it, those of us that do not fit into either category are sick to death of pulling punches. Kudos to you Joe Biden.

Chris P   May 15th, 2008 2:34 pm ET

I knew I liked this guy!! It was between Biden and Obama in the early stages of the race for me.

Lynn Rizzo   May 15th, 2008 2:34 pm ET

Way to go Senator Biden.

Congratulations for speaking up for those of us who have these same feelings but no one to tell. We hold these thoughts of this administration in and depend upon someone like yourself to speak up for us. Thank you so much.

Biden for VP. Time for democrats to stop appeasing the republicans with timid responses to failed policies that are allowing other countries to get the better of us. Obama is right on this and its one reason he got early support. Ignore the silly distractions and get some serious foreign and economic policies mapped out for our country. Biden sounds like the man for the job....Obama-Biden would be a great team!

Tom C. Illinois   May 15th, 2008 2:33 pm ET

Right on Mr. Biden. McCain is of the same attitude. We will attack and beat you to a pulp, then we can negotiate on our terms. It is not appeasement, it is alternative solution finding. There is more than one way to beat the bad guys. It takes a man's man to find it.

Orson   May 15th, 2008 2:33 pm ET

It 's about time someone call out this President. Its 7 years too late but appreciated all the same.
This macho talk about not talking to certain people, not making deals with certain people and then there was North Korea.

Bill, Cool Springs   May 15th, 2008 2:33 pm ET

Fuss all you want, but even Bush knows Barry isn't commander and cheif material. All the supers must know this and yet they won't give us the leader we need which is Hillary. She has the knowledge to do the job, yet they are gonna make us pick between McCain and Barry? Guess what, you'll be surprised how many will go for McCain.

joe mourad   May 15th, 2008 2:32 pm ET

George Bush is a failure by every single measure,he fooled me and the whole nation and the world.

todd   May 15th, 2008 2:32 pm ET

This is why people rejected Biden as a candidate, he's a hot-head without the sense to think before he speaks. I remember another incident where a questioner confronted him with an inconvenient fact, where-upon he exploded told the guy "look, I'm a lot smarter than you!" Wasn't he also accused of plagiarism at Syracuse University?

Mike   May 15th, 2008 2:32 pm ET

I totally agree with what Sen. Biden has said. It just goes to show how badly we need to get Bush and other top Republicans out of office.

Lisa Roos   May 15th, 2008 2:32 pm ET

Agreed. Bush needs to shut up and go away NOW.

These types of comments should not be made in front foreign politicians!! I actually wouldn't expect anything less from our President. I have been discusted by him the day he walked through the White House doors. We have a big party to celebrate his inauguration, we need to have a HUGE celebration when this President is OUT!!

Tom-Canada   May 15th, 2008 2:31 pm ET

Perhaps now you can understand why most of us in this world are so worried about American "Leadership". We know you are better than this! Please don't be duped again by such unwarranted retoric as we hear from your current President. We need you to lead us NOT dictate to us!! Yes You Can!

rice, bryan   May 15th, 2008 2:31 pm ET

Jemma from VA   May 15th, 2008 2:31 pm ET

I am really disappointed at CNN for interrupting Barack Obama's speech after John Edwards' endorsement so that they can air Lou Dobbs' segment. Shouldn't you be covering the election? He must be the executive producer.

Frankly, I am sick of Lou Dobbs' and his bias opinions. He is rude to his guests and all he wants is to hear himself talk. Why bother having a panel when he keeps on interrupting them.

Let them talk!

Pat, Bloomington IL   May 15th, 2008 2:31 pm ET

Completely agree with Senator Biden.

Shawn   May 15th, 2008 2:30 pm ET

I applaud Sen. Biden for his remarks. Bush should be impeached and Sen. Biden should be the one to do it.

Quincy   May 15th, 2008 2:30 pm ET

Just a continued reminder of how "weak" the republican voters made the USA with thier choice of a leader from 2000 to present.

If he really thought he was making his 2008 republican presidentail candidate stronger by making such comments by interjecting FEAR again into the minds of Americans, he played that card already. He needs to try something that will stop terrorism against Americans and will result in the capture of Osama Bin Laden., not his line officers

Jake145   May 15th, 2008 2:30 pm ET

Amen to that!!
You tell them Biden.
Shame ! shame! shame!

bill mc   May 15th, 2008 2:30 pm ET

President Bush is already being labeled as one of the worst presidents in US history. He needs to ride out the rest of his lame duck session with his mouth silent. That way just maybe the world will see us in a better light until we have someone who can do major world and domestic damage repair and lead us to a more peaceful and better world to live in.

I think president bush s trying to divert the attention of people from the real issue,He's policies of not talking to opposing governments has done more harm than good. The economy is in shamble, his rating has plunged lower than any president's in recent history. It s highly horrendious for him to be castigating those who are trying to make real changes that will bring results

Anonymous   May 15th, 2008 2:28 pm ET

It is about time that someone from within has enough guts to say exactly how our current presidency has failed us. Bush will go down in history as the worst president ever. Thank you Mr. Biden..

The Reverend Graham P. Mathews   May 15th, 2008 2:28 pm ET

I agree with Se. Biden, Mr. Bush's has no sense of what he has done to the image and secruity of the USA throughout the world. His speech in Israel and his statement are both indications of his ignorance.

jay   May 15th, 2008 2:28 pm ET

It's good to see someone step up and address the issue. Also, right on the money. There's no reason why you can't talk, nothing else has worked during his terms!!!!

indieg   May 15th, 2008 2:26 pm ET

No reason to get so upset Senator. B/c no one is listening to anything GW has to say about foreign policy, international diplomacy, or the "war on terror" anyway.

SDdemocratic   May 15th, 2008 2:26 pm ET

Well said Mr. Chairman...He is the one who created all this...We must remove republicans from the White House... New policies, new hopes...YES WE CAN !!!

Alan, Bonita Springs, FL   May 15th, 2008 2:26 pm ET

THIS is why I REALLY wanted this guy for president. Way to call it like it is, Joe. Tough. To the point and true. Once again, GW has proven he feels nothing is above him, anything that will help his "cause" is ok because he thinks it is.

Indeed, this is why our country is where it is today. So sad. Even sadder you aren't still in the running, Joe.

Fitz   May 15th, 2008 2:26 pm ET

Joe Biden, I made those same comments this morning after reading the story on CNN. Of course I am not in the national spotlight but I gotta tell you, it's like you heard me. You deserve to be saluted today by all americans.

Bush, your a sick sick man   May 15th, 2008 2:26 pm ET

Keith Olbermann broke the silence on Bush. We all know he's corrupt, and the Bush government is disgustingly familiar to that of Hitler's regime. Anyone who speaks out against him is treated as the enemy. When this is all over, the control over the media will be lifted and we can see what's really been happening in Iraq.

William   May 15th, 2008 2:26 pm ET

Biden's just telling it like it is! Bush's so called "war" on terrorism is a pile of Bulls*#t!

Let's coddle Egypt, Saudia Arabia and Pakistan. Hmm? – where did the 9-11 terrorists come from?

Couldn't have put it more succinctly myself!

Barbara Gooch   May 15th, 2008 2:25 pm ET

Biden must be nuts. Bush is right ,the democrats would probably kiss our enemy's feet. That is the problem we have , we don't need to pesifier the people that kill our people I would say wipe them out, that is what we would have done in the past. We are Americans and we let all these fariegners come in and take over. I think the Dem. are just to soft to rule our country.

AND AMERICA WON'T GIVE OBAMA A CHANCE   May 15th, 2008 2:25 pm ET

This is a disgrace for Bush to make a statement like this. You go to one of our major allies and tell them that one of your countries main political parties wants to appease terroist. It like speaking out against your own country. Not to mention it's because of your admintrative blunders that the terroist has flourished. And america won't give a black man a chance !!!!!!!!

Verna Bungay   May 15th, 2008 2:25 pm ET

Really, couldn't he have just given his opinion and said "bull" or "baloney"? After all whether or not people listening agree
with him or not we shouldn't have to listen to that kind of
language or worry about children hearing whether they hear
worse or not. Dirty politics??

Tim in Canada   May 15th, 2008 2:25 pm ET

A little more time and all the warmongers will be gone and there will be a new world order, a peaceful world. The only thing inevitable is change and everything else is subject to change.

DSRobins   May 15th, 2008 2:25 pm ET

Well, we've all known for a long time that GWBush is full of BS, but it's still useful for Senator Biden to remind us just how much. Bush has wallowed in BS during most of his term in office. They say he loves wading it down at the ranch in Crawford. Won't it be nice when he is gone?

I wanted Joe Biden to be President, but unfortunately, majority of this country don't recognized extra-ordinary statesmen who deserved to be sitting in the oval office. These are also the kind of people that are true leaders, and not what we always chose for President. This is truly sad for this country.

As much as I love Biden's unhinged (and perfectly appropriate) reaction, how about Obama's measured, civil, and equally accurate response? Can't help but notice the conspicuous absence of the statement from the Democratic FRONTRUNNER!

Girish Kumthekar   May 15th, 2008 2:24 pm ET

Relax senator - BTW by the same token, no reason to use this kind of language in THIS country .. as white house spokesman said " I understand when you're running for office you sometimes think the world revolves around you. "

We have all seen what appeasement has brought.....

Veronica McNamara   May 15th, 2008 2:24 pm ET

George Bush wouldn't recognize the truth if it were given to him intravenously. Biden is right on!!!!!!!!

Tina   May 15th, 2008 2:24 pm ET

Good for Biden. I'm not a Bush-hater at all, and this is strong language to be sure, but it's long overdue that someone calls BS.

Will McCorkle   May 15th, 2008 2:23 pm ET

I couldn't agree more. How can a president with such a failed foreign policy possibly criticize the fresh ideas of actually working diplomatically with our enemies instead of starting unwinnable wars. This just shows how bush is so out of touch with the reality of terrorism in the world

nic, bellingham wa   May 15th, 2008 2:23 pm ET

Sick 'em Joe!

Barrington of Cambridge   May 15th, 2008 2:23 pm ET

Bush is not a very bright man. As mean as this may sound, it is also true.

It has often been said that we humans go from on extreme to the next extreme. From the worst president in modern day history to the best the president in modern day history.

In other words, from Bush to Obama.

Can you hear it? ... It's the return of the United States of America.

al   May 15th, 2008 2:23 pm ET

Kelby   May 15th, 2008 2:22 pm ET

It is a rare occasion when one of our politicians allows that veneer of politically correct professionalism crack enough to show how they really feel. They say Mccain is a staight talker. No, this line from Joe Biden is the most "staight talk" I have heard from any politician in a long time.

I think it's about time that somebody pointed out the crap being spewed by Bush and his administration is in fact BULL S**T.

It amazes me what pushes people to curse in public.

GO JOE GO!!!

Joshua College Station Texas   May 15th, 2008 2:22 pm ET

Go Joe! Here here!

Chase Zimmerman   May 15th, 2008 2:22 pm ET

Bush comments have been less intelligent since he took the office of Presidency , his words and actions have all been bs. So I totally agree with the Senator. Bush doesn't care one way or the other because he has eight months left in office. It is really funny too because we may get again a not so intelligent President Obama, who thinks we have 57 states in the US. Is that not something you learn in Pre-K schooling the 50 states. My Fellow Americans wake up and be careful who you vote for!

NickNas   May 15th, 2008 2:22 pm ET

IMPEACH BUSH NOW!!!!! The NERVE of this bastard to play POLITICS on the World stage.

THANK YOU JOE BIDEN FOR SPEAKING BLUNTLY AND HONESTLY ! After 9/11, Bush has gotten away with tons of nonsense like this. It's about time our "leaders" are standing up for what's right and slamming the TRUTH in Bush's face. Joe Biden deserves a cabinet position in Obama's Administration!

Karen Calhoun, Tennessee   May 15th, 2008 2:22 pm ET

Amen Mr. Biden! Democrats like yourself need to stand up and call a spade a spade and help defend our future president Mr. Obama. I'm tired of this rhetoric from the right. McCain is a fool for standing by Bush's side and will suffer a huge defeat in the fall because of it.

I think I speak for many Americans when I say "THANK YOU"

Rubin Moise   May 15th, 2008 2:20 pm ET

Here we go again with the politic of fear. This fool does not speak for Americans. American want peace not aggression. George Bush is so hated in the U.S and abroad. Can we just exile him to some poor country in Africa and for him to never come back to the USA.

D'Anne   May 15th, 2008 2:20 pm ET

How has sitting down and talking to someone ever hurt? Um, I would venture to say that bombing our enemies resulting in the loss of innocent lives, not to mention outrageous monetary costs, is far worse. Our nation needs to quit being so "righteous" and listen more.

CJ   May 15th, 2008 2:20 pm ET

Yea Senator Biden! If only the rest of our Congress had the audacity to stand up against this regime. Bush and Cheney should have been impeached long ago. I only hope the rest of the country is as sick of this administration as I am and goes to the polls to vote for change. God knows we need it desperately! Change does not mean McCain, a continuance of this regime. Either one of the other two will suffice.

Carly   May 15th, 2008 2:20 pm ET

Good for you Sen. Biden. Shame on Prez.

Cory, San Diego, CA   May 15th, 2008 2:19 pm ET

Ed Henry, John Roberts, and Ted Barrett are not journalists. They are actively and blatantly lying about what President Bush said earlier today. The administration has come out and officially stated that they were NOT referring to Obama with Bush's speech to the Knesset. Who is it that told these CNN "journalists" otherwise? I believe that they are intentionally lying to the American people in order to support their candidate of choice. This is unethical and CNN should investigate this action immediately.

Douglas   May 15th, 2008 2:18 pm ET

With a simple minded president, only a simple minded word will have the desired effect. The media need to look in the mirror, how can this president go 8 yrs without being accountable for his actions???

Why am I getting the strong impression that seven years of being President has munged up Bush's brain? It's got to be a high-stress job, and it's got be unbelievably lonely and isolating. And the more I hear from Bush the more it looks like he's losing touch with reality.

Tony - DC   May 15th, 2008 2:17 pm ET

Bush, Cheney, and his whole freak show Cabinet are the last people on the planet to ever criticize anyone about moreals, value, truth, or anything elsed for that matter. Bush is a joke and and soon will be back in the cow paddy pasutures of Texas where he NEVER should have been allowed to leave.

Joe Biden is a weak, ineffective ankle biter. What we need are leaders, not complainers. This moron does not even understand what leverage means. The only leverage that matters in negotiations are economics or force. To think otherwise is naive and stupid. It's hard to believe, but there are some that think just talking will solve problems. It won't. Sorry. Welcome to world politics 101.

Robert L. Fike, Jr.   May 15th, 2008 2:13 pm ET

I,m a lifelong Republican but I applaud what Joe Biden had to say. I don't want to moderate anything I said. If you don't want to accept it, then I guess you are just Bush supporters. Thanks for having the guts to speak up Joe! A patriot must stand ready to protect his country from his government!

Senator Biden should not be so hard on President Bush. He needs to understand that President Bush is doing the best he can given the limited amout of time he has been in office. The Senator should understand that the President should not be held responsible as he does not know what he is doing. He has limited experience (8 years) and ever further limited abilities. He has not even mastered the art of telling a joke yet. Give him time. He will come around by January of 2009. WOW I cannot even fool myself.

Thank you, Joe BIden. "BS" is actually a kinder word than I would use.

If Bush had any sense of shame, any awareness or responsibility for the terrible mess that he has driven us into with his ignorance and stupidity, he would beg forgiveness from the American people and resign, instead of standing there pretending to be a person with any wisdom on world affairs and history. NO one with any sense would take George Bush's opinions seriously at this point.

I applaud the remarks, but I do not applaud the HORRIBLE INEFFICENCIES of our House and Senate.

They can blaim Bush all they want, but THEY are the ones with more power, and these morons choose to do nothing.

Look no further than Senator Obama. From the state senate to the US senate to president, he has spent more time RUNNING for office than actually being in session... it's pathetic...

when will we hold these people accountable?

Larry, Hazleton, Pa   May 15th, 2008 2:10 pm ET

Has President Bush lost his mind. Is his memory so bad that he does not remeber that it is he who has caused our problems and his man Cheney – January 2009 will not come soon enough to send these to packing.

Larry   May 15th, 2008 2:10 pm ET

Is anyone really listening to Bush anymore? Does he actually have a shred of credibility or decency left? Some politicians don't know when the party's over and it's time to go. Perhaps that is how he can face himself in the morning- through his golf sacrifice for our troops and by remaining delusional.

The thing is, that the President's remarks are right on the money!! If you look at the history of the past 4 years, the Democrats have belittled our troops, belittled our country and have been looking for ways to blame the President for everything while they look to appease and strengthen the enemy by giving them hope by demanding that our troops be pulled out immediately. If that is not appeasement, I don't know what is!!

As usual, CNN ommitted my comments on this earlier.

Roy   May 15th, 2008 2:08 pm ET

Joe hit the nail on the head.

john compton   May 15th, 2008 2:08 pm ET

Everytime George opens his mouth his Approval ratings drop a few more points. This will be a bigger landslide than 80!

Tom Cotner   May 15th, 2008 2:08 pm ET

Good for you Joe Biden. It's about time a trusted member of congress finally said out loud that the president is a liar - always has been a liar, and always will be a liar - and has been totally destructive to our country.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!

willowood   May 15th, 2008 2:08 pm ET

Senator Biden is right. What can one say about Bush...probably better left unsaid...such a sad legacy in American history. Voting Republican this time around is tantamount to being brain dead...

Ed   May 15th, 2008 2:07 pm ET

Thanks you Sen. Biden, someboby finally said it!!!

Common Sense   May 15th, 2008 2:07 pm ET

McCain presidency is crazy and inviting disaster.

Be smart and vote Obama.

Steve, Landing, NJ   May 15th, 2008 2:07 pm ET

Good for Joe. I'm glad someone had the guts to call the President out in the strongest possible terms.

Randy   May 15th, 2008 2:07 pm ET

This is what has been needed to be said for the last eight years. Bush has lead a lot naive and trusting Americans to ruin their own country to enrich Bush and Republican cronies with help from Fox News. It looks like everyone in the US has figured it out the sad part is it took nine years for people to wise up.

kendall   May 15th, 2008 2:07 pm ET

Joe B just keeping it REAL!

Mike   May 15th, 2008 2:07 pm ET

I can't understand why the current President hasn't been fired for his incompetency. Bush is very lucky that he lives in a country that has tolerance for idiots.

Scott Nolde   May 15th, 2008 2:07 pm ET

Well done Joe. Finally, someone willing to point out what Bush is so full of.

Rocky   May 15th, 2008 2:06 pm ET

Tell it like it is, Biden! I wish more politicians would.

Gapagos   May 15th, 2008 2:06 pm ET

Finally someone who says it like it is.
Good for him. I wish America had more citizens like this, instead of bashing anyone who says anything remotely controversial.

Jim,Atlanta   May 15th, 2008 2:06 pm ET

Joe Biden.......bravo....you'd make a great VP!!!!

Johnny from NY   May 15th, 2008 2:06 pm ET

nice
atta boy joe
give it to us straight

kosmo fenster   May 15th, 2008 2:06 pm ET

finally, a senator with the courage to call it as it is. mr bush sinks deeper into the muck every time he opens his mouth. we can only hope he keeps his mouth open and disappears from the scene entirely before he kills us all.

Paizley   May 15th, 2008 2:06 pm ET

LOL. Thank You!! Biden is right on. Bush offering any kind of opinion on anything at all at this point is laughable.

obama   May 15th, 2008 2:06 pm ET

Agreed!

Bobby   May 15th, 2008 2:06 pm ET

If there's any hope for the GOP in this election; they're going to have to get George Bush some duct tape. The more he opens his mouth the angrier people get. Bush – Shhhhhhhhhhhhh...

kmt   May 15th, 2008 2:06 pm ET

Biden is terrific – I hope he gets a cabinet post, at least, in Obama's Administration!

Copperblue   May 15th, 2008 2:06 pm ET

Biden for VP.

Chris-Seattle   May 15th, 2008 2:06 pm ET

CNN is cool I saw the headline before they bleeped it out and I about fell outta my chair laughing!

Elizabeth   May 15th, 2008 2:06 pm ET

Go Joe! Go Joe!

Jacob   May 15th, 2008 2:06 pm ET

Hey CNN did you read the report from the RNC, this is exactly what they wanted the president to do and look how much its backfiring!

Native Delawarean   May 15th, 2008 2:06 pm ET

Go, Joe!!!!!!!

But next time, don't be so kind to Bush. ;-)

Robert   May 15th, 2008 2:05 pm ET

It's about time someone got very blunt about the stuff Bush has been saying. It's just a shame it took 8 years. Now if they would just impeach him, Congress'es approval would go up 50 percentage points!!!

White middle-aged woman for Obama !   May 15th, 2008 2:05 pm ET

I agree Joe !. We all know Bush is trying to get the Jewish communities in America to go against Sen. Obama in Nov. The republicans are so afraid of losing complete control of the government come election time, and they will !.
Obama 08 !!!

Champion D   May 15th, 2008 2:05 pm ET

How did this idiot get into office disrespecting the President must be on MDMA.

James Buchanan   May 15th, 2008 2:05 pm ET

May not agree with everything he says, but I can finally say without reservation that there is one real human being on the Left side of the aisle with something resembling a backbone.

Finally, a Democrat with the temerity to call it like he sees it without the pandering tone of voice.

This Republican voter is duly impressed.

Joe Regis   May 15th, 2008 2:05 pm ET

A pretty sad state of affair America finds herself.

Let the bombs do the talking.

AL   May 15th, 2008 2:05 pm ET

WOW!!

This is our president? Can't wait until January 2009!

Independant Floridian   May 15th, 2008 2:05 pm ET

That's right Sen. Biden. I knew I liked this guy!. Tell it like it is! Bush is full of BS.

William   May 15th, 2008 2:05 pm ET

Finally – at last! One of our Senators has the fortitude to say what we are all thinking!

Rob   May 15th, 2008 2:05 pm ET

It would be funny if it was not so sad. I am glad I will be able to say I did not vote for this monumental failure of an administration. I just hope that the damage this president caused over the past 7 years can be reversed.

Ronald, L.A., California   May 15th, 2008 2:05 pm ET

Well, well, well. Senator Biden steps up big-time for the truth! Nice to see you're still out there fighting the good fight, Senator. Common sense seems to be a disappearing characteristic!

Jack   May 15th, 2008 2:04 pm ET

Ah yes, the politics of takign umbridge. Why is it that when John Kerry makes a disrespectful comment everyone says that Republicans are too sensitive, but a comment from President Bush elicits curse words from the Democrat high ups?

Bubba   May 15th, 2008 2:04 pm ET

Thats right! Bus has weakened us and has done irreversible damage to our country.

Colin From Tx   May 15th, 2008 2:04 pm ET

Ya have to give it to Joe, He calls it how it is.

Mark   May 15th, 2008 2:04 pm ET

You go Biden. You said what needed to be said. Biden for VP

Dennis McFay   May 15th, 2008 2:04 pm ET

Joe Biden's comments are quite accurate. I am still waiting for the number one terrorist and international war crimes evader boy George Bush to stand trail, however unlikely.

Lauro Martines   May 15th, 2008 2:04 pm ET

Hurray for Senator Biden. He is absolutely write to impugn the occupant of our White House for his lack of diplomacy, aggression, inconsistencies, and a primary cause of terror in the

emanuel miggiani   May 15th, 2008 2:04 pm ET

Why is one President impeached over some lewd bahaviour in his office, and this ashtonishing moron Bush gets away with everything?
He should have been impeached already for a million reasons.

disenfranchised   May 15th, 2008 2:04 pm ET

Joe Biden is right, He would make a good running mate for Hilary! His views on how we should handle Iran sound the same as hers, Not like Obama's talk to them first, without leverage or negotiations. Vote Hilary 08

Zoey   May 15th, 2008 2:03 pm ET

AMEN !!!! Joe Biden, you are alright with me. It's about time people step up to Bush.

Jeff   May 15th, 2008 2:03 pm ET

Anthony Flint, MI   May 15th, 2008 2:03 pm ET

Justice   May 15th, 2008 2:01 pm ET

Four more years with Mcain

Tom, Iowa   May 15th, 2008 2:01 pm ET

Biden would make an awesome VP! Or at the very least Secretary of State.
I love how CNN censors the first time BS is used but not the second.

al snyder   May 15th, 2008 2:01 pm ET

could not have been said better.

Josh   May 15th, 2008 2:01 pm ET

awesome! don't be fooled by all this Republican propaganda (i.e. the world will be filled with terrorists if we don't get elected). scare tactics are over, fools! we need brains in the white house.

RR   May 15th, 2008 2:01 pm ET

Bush is an IDIOT!!

Brian   May 15th, 2008 2:01 pm ET

Looks like somebody cannot take the heat... time to get out of the kitchen.

McCain 08!

Peter   May 15th, 2008 2:01 pm ET

This is good Biden. Bide speaks the truth and I like it. The way McCain denies to reject Bush`s comments i awful. McCain is McBush. We don`t 4 more years of bad wars, bad economy and many new enemies.

DropDeadFred   May 15th, 2008 2:01 pm ET

Good for Biden. Call it as he sees it.

John   May 15th, 2008 2:01 pm ET

Biden for President!

Le Troubadour   May 15th, 2008 2:01 pm ET

Give them hell, Biden.

Biden for Secretary of State or Defense.

Joe Klinow   May 15th, 2008 2:00 pm ET

I think when John McCain is sitting in the White House next year, we Democrats are going to be wondering why on earth we didn't support Joe Biden for President!

Zman   May 15th, 2008 2:00 pm ET

WE JUST NEED TO IGNORE HIM HE DOES NOT DESERVE US WAISTING OUR TIME TALKING ABOUT HIM

tremlett   May 15th, 2008 2:00 pm ET

Brilliant Joe. Where were these revelations all this time. Indeed bush continuously tries to divide the nation and so are his cohorts in the admin and the right wing talk radios

White Male -CA   May 15th, 2008 2:00 pm ET

I love how the Republicans wonder why their brand is so tarnished. Bush has set the bar for Republicans at an all time low. Is the standard of Republicans the double standard now a days?

Our Republican leaders want to bomb Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, and Afghanistan back to the stone ages just so our tax dollars can rebuild these countries.

We're going after countries that don't have the nukes, but yet we pay NO ATTENTION to North Korea who has them!

Foreign Policy does not mean bomb a country back to the stone ages so our tax dollars can help rebuild them. All at the same time we get to flip the bill on gas utilities, and car gas coming in at $7.00 a gallon in about a year from now.

You guys wanna pay $8.00 a gallon two years from now? I say go for it. Let's vote John McCain "Path to extinction"

E. Elder   May 15th, 2008 2:00 pm ET

William Borah, a Republican senator, made the quote Bush was referring to. Why would Bush dredge this up when many Republicans were openly sympathetic to the Germans including Bush family members prior to WW 2.

Its about time   May 15th, 2008 2:00 pm ET

Way to go Joe. I just wish more people had spoken up before we went to war, before George W. Bush became the most unpopular president EVER.

fred   May 15th, 2008 2:00 pm ET

What is he wanting out of Obama??? You can bet something...Dems will lose control of the House in November thanks to Obama. Because millions of us Dems will be voting for Hillary (write in) or McCain!!

Howard Dean is a loser and has been since his Scream!!

We the Democrats should be screaming that we want him removed as head of the DNC!!

Bob   May 15th, 2008 2:00 pm ET

You go Joe!

CP-Texas   May 15th, 2008 2:00 pm ET

Way to go Biden. Enough with the PC, tell it like you hear it in your head. GW's policies have led absolutely no where. Has he even one foreign policy accomplishment?????? Can't wait for this idiot to be gone, WORST PRESIDENT EVER.

JOHN   May 15th, 2008 2:00 pm ET

Mr Biden, I salute your intelligence and straight talk. We need some one to tell us the way it is instead of bull$*** us all the time. Obama/Biden08

Karen, TN   May 15th, 2008 2:00 pm ET

Actually, I don't think Pres. Bush was talking about Sen. Obama with his comments. If he was talking about anyone in particular, I think it was probably Jimmy Carter.

carol NC   May 15th, 2008 2:00 pm ET

You go Biden. He is so correct with what he said. We have never been under such distess in this country until Bush stepped into office.

Iana   May 15th, 2008 2:00 pm ET

I am from the Caribbean watching all of this play out. I am disgusted by McCain's earlier comments and now Bush's comments implying that Obama is a terrorist ... and Democrats are looking to appease terrorists. (Then he sends his press secretary to say that is not the case and further insultd Obama by saying that he thinks the world revolves around him) who ARE these people?

It is amazing to me what they will do and who they will try to drag through the mud to justify this war in Iraq.

I am also very disappointed in the media , if Obama had called McCain a skin head, a nazi or a clan member there would have been an uproar. But as it is Obama is left to defend himself against these downright "silly" statements from silly, silly men.

As we say here: They need to come better than this.

Jeff   May 15th, 2008 1:59 pm ET

Darn straight. Biden for VP!

Hughes   May 15th, 2008 1:59 pm ET

Rock on, Joe! Dubya's playing the same old role he always plays when it's election time: blame it on the dems! Let's see if America will finally wake up. I think they just might.

Helene   May 15th, 2008 1:59 pm ET

Bush is a WAR CRIMINAL who has the blood of 4077 American soldiers and thousands of Iraqis on his dirty hands. His latest comments are more than outrageous, they are beyond the pale. He should be tried by a war tribunal along with Milosevic and others. And hanged,

OBAMA GIRL   May 15th, 2008 1:59 pm ET

I'm not surprised by Bush's comments. I hope all of the Clinton supporters that say they will vote for McBush see how the republicans are not working in the best interest of America.

Mike   May 15th, 2008 1:59 pm ET

Thank goodness for people lie Dodd. How outrageous for a lamduck president who has a following of 22% of the people thinks he speaks for the United States. Perhaps he wants another war. That fits the thinking of his brilliant 'kitchen cabinet.'

Mike

Laura   May 15th, 2008 1:59 pm ET

You go Joe Biden!! I sure hope you are considered for Obama's VP!

mark Kanegis   May 15th, 2008 1:59 pm ET

Wow... I'm no Biden fan, but that was some good stuff. Nice going Joe.

Mike Mc   May 15th, 2008 1:59 pm ET

Joe Biden rules...haha! The man knows foreign policy better than anyone in Washington and backs his comments up with undisputable facts.
I'd Love to see a Obama/Biden ticket but I'm not holding my breath.

Dexter   May 15th, 2008 1:59 pm ET

Good for you, Biden.

F' that war criminal.

Christopher   May 15th, 2008 1:59 pm ET

I dont know that there could have been a much better way to express it. Thanks Sen Biden!

Jerry   May 15th, 2008 1:59 pm ET

Oh,if only it been that Biden was the successful Democratic candidate for President! Republicans wouldn't even bother to run anybody against him. He has the clearest understanding of the problems we face and why. He would best at solving most of them, too.

Ralph Santillo   May 15th, 2008 1:59 pm ET

Way to go Joe. BUsh has been nothing but Bull for 8 years.

His foriegn policy is non existant. I can't wait for him to get out of office and go clip coupons somewhere.

It will take years for this country to overcome the damage he and his inept administration has caused.

Cleo   May 15th, 2008 1:59 pm ET

Right on Joe!!!!!!

Kevin   May 15th, 2008 1:59 pm ET

Does anyone actually pay any attention to what the Bush says anymore? It has been pretty much universally acknowledged that his presidency was an unmitigated failure. His time in the Oval Office is almost, thank God, over. If we are very, very lucky he'll campaign vigorously for McCain and remind everyone of what 4 more year of the same will be like. Other than that, he's seriously lame duck and largely irrelevant, though I suppose it would be dangerous to underestimate the amount of damage he could do with his remaining time; the man is a natural disaster.

JML   May 15th, 2008 1:59 pm ET

Wow, he's pissed!

Ed   May 15th, 2008 1:59 pm ET

hello from CANADA..

Wow here is a guy that Obama should have on his team after he is president... he has hit the nail on the head... hope this will knock some sense into those people that are threatening to vote for McCain now that Hillary is going to lose...
Even up here in Canada , the perception of Americans has gotten worse since Bush got in power...
Hopefully once President Obama gets in power and gets your troops out of Iraq , we will be pulling our troops out of Afghanistan too .. We also have our version of George Bush up here as our Prime Minister but was elected with a minority government who can be ousted a lot sooner if a non confidence vote occurs rather than you guy having to wait for an election or as the other indiot and crook Nixon did was to resign.. or be impeached...
Vote for Borak ..he will not only help your country but ours too...
EH???

Rod   May 15th, 2008 1:59 pm ET

My sentiments exactly. Right on Joe! Someone should have said this long before now!

Chris in St Louis   May 15th, 2008 1:59 pm ET

Joe Biden.... Thank You for not being a politician and saying what all of us are thinking!!! The American Public should thank you!!!

Chris L.   May 15th, 2008 1:59 pm ET

I applaud you, sir! Bush's comments were indeed childish BS and you called it for what it is. I shall enjoy the Republicans panic as they dig their own graves because of this guy (and their own arrogance).

FRANK   May 15th, 2008 1:58 pm ET

WHAT CAN I SAY.... THIS IS THE 1ST THING BUSH HAS SAID IN 7 YEARS THAT I AGRE WITH.

BUSH IS 100% CORRECT , ONLY A FOOL WOULD MEET WITH THOSE LEADERS

Really?   May 15th, 2008 1:58 pm ET

Give 'em hell, Joe! We're talking to North Korea . . . we talk to Iran about Iraq . . . and let's see . . . We don't talk to Cuba (and haven't in decades); we don't talk to Iran about nukes; we don't talk to Hamas or Hezbollah; and we have effectuated ABSOLUTELY no change in any of their policies. Indeed, with the toppling of Saadam, Iran has become a menace under Bush's watch, undermining progress in Iraq; arming Hamas and Hezbollah to the teeth; going nukular (as Bush would say) and generally becoming the neighborhood bully. Brilliant. Just brilliant. Give 'em hell, Joe!

Robert   May 15th, 2008 1:58 pm ET

Sing it, Joe! You were always my dark-horse favorite.

Lewis Moore   May 15th, 2008 1:58 pm ET

Finally someone steps up to the plate. Lets see how GW pulls his foot out of his mouth on this one.

Anonymous   May 15th, 2008 1:58 pm ET

i wonder how bush can sleep at night knowing he will go down in history as the biggest mistake this country ever made?

Tay in Texas   May 15th, 2008 1:58 pm ET

That is the funniest thing ever. It just goes to show that everyone has pretty much reached their limit with this moron. This mess is what we Americans as reaped as our reward for electing a "short bus" president.

Still, I am going to miss making fun of him when he is no longer in office.

Rene D, Bel Air, MD   May 15th, 2008 1:58 pm ET

This explains in part why Condi Rice has not had a very successful run as Sec of State. My gawd, George.

Zak, Chicago   May 15th, 2008 1:58 pm ET

I like a politician that says it like it is. Biden might make a good Obama VP.

Justin   May 15th, 2008 1:58 pm ET

Send Joe Biden to go to Iran and talk to them imo, he sounds willing.

Darth Vadik, CA   May 15th, 2008 1:58 pm ET

If somebody has lied and lied and lied and lied and lied some more to you....

...WHY THE HECK WOULD YOU BELIEVE THEM NOW?

This administration has been a disgrace to its party (Republicans), to politics in general, to the country. Time for a new direction.

Brnman   May 15th, 2008 1:58 pm ET

President George W. Bush is supposed to be the president of the USA. That means he is the president of all Americans.

That includes Democrats, Republicans, Independents, Christians, Jews, Muslims. Buddhists, Hindus, Atheists etc. For him to make a speech in another country and then to belittle other Americans because their views differ from his or the political party to which he belongs; shows that he indeed will be recorded in history as the worst or one of the worse presidents in the history of the USA.

Bob   May 15th, 2008 1:58 pm ET

I love it well a politician calls a spade a spade

Mary   May 15th, 2008 1:57 pm ET

THANK YOU JOE! Finally people are calling out this lying coward for what he is. PELOSI-how dare you say impeachment was off the table. He has ruined this country...morally, economically and every other level. Bush, Cheney and the rest of this regime...may there be a very special place in hell for all of you.

GO JOE!   May 15th, 2008 1:57 pm ET

This man would have made a fine president! Tell it like it is!

alan   May 15th, 2008 1:57 pm ET

I love Joe Biden.

Dia Akin   May 15th, 2008 1:57 pm ET

Gotta respect his balls for this! I'm glad that somebody FINALLY set aside the "professional character" and said what NEEDED to be said. Everything that has come out of Bush's mouth has been "BS." I'm just glad someone in a public spotlight was brave enough to come out and say what the people have been thinking for years.

Daryl from Washington   May 15th, 2008 1:57 pm ET

hahaha....Obama should get Biden as his vice! I like this guy!

Mark   May 15th, 2008 1:57 pm ET

Good for Biden! Who the heck does Dubya think he's kidding?

Brad from MN   May 15th, 2008 1:57 pm ET

Atta boy Biden! Tis about time someone called the clown on this crap.

Beth   May 15th, 2008 1:56 pm ET

Don't sugar-coat it, Mr. Biden. Tell us how you really feel. By the way – Bravo!

Dale   May 15th, 2008 1:56 pm ET

Go Biden! Well said!

jim   May 15th, 2008 1:56 pm ET

Good for you Biden. At Least SOMEONE has the balls to stand up and say somemthing other then "My friend from..." or "I disagree with the comments made...". Finally they start using the tough language. It almost makes them look human.

Marie   May 15th, 2008 1:56 pm ET

Good for Senator Biden for calling President Bush on this and telling it like it is.

Logtaads   May 15th, 2008 1:56 pm ET

Who is Joe Biden... what's he done?

Max, Dallas, TX   May 15th, 2008 1:56 pm ET

You've got to love a senator who follows up "bulls**t" with "malarkey."
Biden's absolutely right. Bush's comments were horrible, and reminiscent of that oaf Romney, when he spouted that nonsense about Democrats before he got out of the presidential race.

Willy   May 15th, 2008 1:56 pm ET

GO JOE GO !

100% correct. Joe Biden should be Obama's VP pick !!!

Bush is the worst President this country has ever seen, he has brought us to the brink of collapse !!

Kook   May 15th, 2008 1:56 pm ET

Shut-up Biden. Go back to cheating and plagarizing speeches.

June from Michigan   May 15th, 2008 1:56 pm ET

I wholeheartedly agree with Joe Biden. Pres. Bush has been feeding us "bull dung" for too long. What started out to be a plus for our country has turned upside down causing chaos not only here but around the world.

Titi from Texas   May 15th, 2008 1:56 pm ET

Joe Biden is the man ! ! !

Mark   May 15th, 2008 1:56 pm ET

Amen Senator Biden...Thanks for speaking the truth... we are looking for that in our leaders...

Dumb Mcain and Bush   May 15th, 2008 1:55 pm ET

Finally somone who is speaking up and will probably be scolded for his tone...but someone has to speak up and stop political games. I am ashamed our President can speak like that. I am royally ticked about our leadership...but highly appreciative of Bidens response.

BIDEN FOR VP

Rick FL   May 15th, 2008 1:55 pm ET

I love Sen. Biden's candor. America has had enough of Bush and his neocon nonsense. Outrageous indeed.

Dem '08

MaryK   May 15th, 2008 1:55 pm ET

I love Senator Biden, he always tells it like it is!!!!

Martha, Georgia   May 15th, 2008 1:55 pm ET

Thank you Sen. Biden for standing up to the rhetorical bulls**t that comes out of Bush and and his surrogates' mouths. He is still trying to invoke fear into the American and Israeli people. Can't wait until the end of 2008.

Mainely Carol   May 15th, 2008 1:55 pm ET

Love someone up there telling it like it is! Joe Biden can't be fooled by the veiled insidious predjudicial accusations on Obama.
Hopefully the media will air Bidens statement as much as the will surely repeat the trash coming from Bush.

rany   May 15th, 2008 1:54 pm ET

joe biden know what is good policy, and what he said is right bush got it wrong.
obama 08.

Derek   May 15th, 2008 1:53 pm ET

Dang, Biden tore Bush a new one! I like Biden or Edwards as Obama's VP.

Mary   May 15th, 2008 1:53 pm ET

Perhaps Senator Biden has his eye on the Vice Presidency?

Damon   May 15th, 2008 1:53 pm ET

Ha ha....I love it!! It's about time someone stop bitting their tongue for the sake of that bumbling idiot. That's who Obama needs as VP!!!

Obama/Biden 08!!

Sean   May 15th, 2008 1:53 pm ET

Thank you once again for speaking the truth Joe Biden.

Yes   May 15th, 2008 1:53 pm ET

James   May 15th, 2008 1:49 pm ET

Thank you Senator Biden. That one blunt word sums up not only the statement to which you were responding, but the entire Bush presidency. Thank God we are about to rid of this bumbling, dangerous oaf.

That's right!! You tell 'em Biden!

James   May 15th, 2008 1:49 pm ET

Thanks

Jonathan of Tampa, FL   May 15th, 2008 1:49 pm ET

I think Mr. Biden responded perfectly.

Greg   May 15th, 2008 1:48 pm ET

Sen. Biden, I have always admired your courage, your determination, your intelligence.

Today I have something else to admire – your decision to use exactly the appropriate word for President Bush's comments.

No cloaking things in the soft language of diplomacy. Just call it what it is.

My hat is off to you, sir.

REAL American for Obama   May 15th, 2008 1:48 pm ET

Way to go, Biden! Maybe you should be Barack's VP! I'd vote for that ticket in a heartbeat.

HYPOCRACY 08   May 15th, 2008 1:48 pm ET

Appease:
pacify, conciliate; especially : to buy off (an aggressor) by concessions usually at the sacrifice of principles

I thought Biden might have went to school... Does he know what Appease means?

I thought taking things ouf context was a Republican thing... but I guess this primary has changed all that... from the inside out.

Vince   May 15th, 2008 1:48 pm ET

HAHAHA!!!! Way to go Biden!!!!!!!!!!!!

Adam from State College, PA   May 15th, 2008 1:48 pm ET

hanna4   May 15th, 2008 1:44 pm ET

I think Biden might make a good VP for Obama! Tell Bush what you really think! Biden is right....we wouldn't be in this mess if it weren't for Bush's arrogant attitude and behavior.

Sam   May 15th, 2008 1:43 pm ET

Biden is dead on. Bush is like an arsonist who's trying to impede the fire trucks from getting to the fire that he started.

Linda D   May 15th, 2008 1:43 pm ET

You go Senator Biden!!!! LOVE IT!!!

Nathan Myers   May 15th, 2008 1:43 pm ET

45-year old White Woman for Obama   May 15th, 2008 1:42 pm ET

Well, if Vice President Cheney can drop the "f" bomb on the Senate floor, then I guess it's okay for Sen. Biden to say "bs."

Is this perhaps signs of a Biden vice presidential bid?

Thank you for stating the obvious Mr. Biden! We need more people to stand up and call his statements and policies what they really are!

JZ   May 15th, 2008 1:41 pm ET

Maybe Biden will help spear head either an impeachment of Bush or some other campaign to rid our nation of the horrible American reputation this administration has pushed into history.

Bob   May 15th, 2008 1:40 pm ET

You go Joe Biden!...About time someone in this government told this delusional moron that this is BS. Can't someone just shut him up?

Al Ware   May 15th, 2008 1:40 pm ET

Big ups for Sen. Biden. A straight talker who tells the truth. Pres. Bush should be impeached for the damage he has done to this country, along with his partner in crime, Dick Cheney. Sen. Obama should make Sen. Biden his V.P.

Obama/Biden "08"

fred   May 15th, 2008 1:39 pm ET

Joe Biden-VP, tell it like it really is!

Bush is such a DB!

Jose'   May 15th, 2008 1:39 pm ET

Joe Biden is an idiot.

Everything is political to this clown.

He couldn't care less about the security of this country.

We need to elect anybody but Obama if we are going to make this country safer.

jiqingli   May 15th, 2008 1:38 pm ET

Good for Biden!!!!!

Don   May 15th, 2008 1:38 pm ET

I guess this makes Joe Biden this year's Howard Dean.

These are the people supporting Obama; perhaps it's time we took a pregnant pause and re-evaluated where this country is headed?

Kevin Leo (Jonesboro, GA)   May 15th, 2008 1:37 pm ET

I have always liked Joe Biden because he calls it as he sees it! He should definitely be on Barack's short list of VP candidates with all of his national and inernational experience.

Duey   May 15th, 2008 1:37 pm ET

It's about time somebody of Senator Biden's stature says what is on everyone's mind. I'd love to see him or someone else say this straight to Bush's face.

Scubanut   May 15th, 2008 1:37 pm ET

Finally, someone has the cohones to call it what it is! Way to go, Senator Biden! Thank you for pointing out the inconsistencies and ineptitude in this administration's foreign policy.

Matt from L.A.   May 15th, 2008 1:37 pm ET

I love you Joe Biden! (way to tell 'em!)

Kwad   May 15th, 2008 1:37 pm ET

I couldn't agree more strongly with Biden. I am glad he chose the words he did as it may actually get some coverage.

Cindy   May 15th, 2008 1:37 pm ET

Joe Biden proves once again that is he is the strongest, most forthright leader in our country today. Thanks for calling it like it is, Joe.

EDW   May 15th, 2008 1:37 pm ET

It doesn't get any more beautiful than that. Thank you Mr. Biden!!!

beevee   May 15th, 2008 1:36 pm ET

I commned senator Biden for his comments on Mr. Bush's statement.

HomoSapien   May 15th, 2008 1:36 pm ET

Good Job Senator Biden!

This guy – Bush – is an imbecile with amazingly little knowledge and shockingly little curiosity about anything. He has managed to do to this country in seven years what no external enemy could have. He has divided us, ruined us economically, made us less safe.

It's time we start taking our country back and it's time we started calling this moron a moron.

For Obama Not Because I'm Black   May 15th, 2008 1:35 pm ET

Biden- Take the nail and the hammer and apply appropriate force. Great Job!

GOD BLESS JOE BIDEN~!...would have been the best president we could ever have hoped for. We'll settle for what we have coming up but Joe would have been the right one for the most important job in the world

Louise   May 15th, 2008 1:34 pm ET

Senator Biden would be a wonderful choice for Vice Pres.

lori   May 15th, 2008 1:34 pm ET

Thank you, Sen. Biden!!! Finally, someone speaking plainly and publicly – the truth.

Bob Singer   May 15th, 2008 1:34 pm ET

Agreed... 100%
Thank you Mr. Biden!

Farren Ballanst   May 15th, 2008 1:34 pm ET

I've always liked Joe Biden. He cares more about telling the truth than about how it might sound.

Dee   May 15th, 2008 1:33 pm ET

You tell him Biden!!!

JANUARY 20, 2009!!

We will be done with the worst president in our country's history!!!

The Big O.N.E   May 15th, 2008 1:33 pm ET

I like it. Biden is the mannnn!

sebert trail   May 15th, 2008 1:33 pm ET

Once again vulgar Biden seem not to look at the facts. Obama said he would meet with terrorist leaders if elected. Biden is another example of why we need term limits.

Oh. My   May 15th, 2008 1:33 pm ET

Go Biden!

92 year old Texan   May 15th, 2008 1:33 pm ET

Joe Biden looks, acts and is the professor. Bush looks, acts, speaks and reasons like the special ed. kid.

joeparadis   May 15th, 2008 1:33 pm ET

Senator Biden is correct. What is going to happen to Mr. Bush after he leaves office? There should be an avalanche of civil lawsuits in this country and the international courts should indict him for war crimes.

Simone   May 15th, 2008 1:33 pm ET

Go, Biden!

Tell it like it is!!

Now, THAT is STRAIGHTALK!

Jeremy, Las Vegas   May 15th, 2008 1:33 pm ET

I don't care what anyone says; Joe Biden rocks.

Darrell - Wisconsin   May 15th, 2008 1:33 pm ET

Joe Biden, you are my hero!

John in WA   May 15th, 2008 1:33 pm ET

Well.....Mr. Biden might think the comments are BS, but I happen to think that for ANY candidate making pronouncements of being willing to sit down after they get elected and talking with terrorists UNDERMINES any action or policies of the current situation in ANY place in the world where the interests of the US are at stake.
Please remember the old WWII saying..."Loose lips sink ships". Same thing applies to anyone with a soapbox to stand on. The US does not negotiate with terrorists, no matter WHO is in the White House.

Moses, Ca.   May 15th, 2008 1:33 pm ET

" Ritgh on " Mr. Biden, you hit the nail on the head

Lynda West Chester, PA   May 15th, 2008 1:33 pm ET

I love Joe Biden! He is just the type of person Obama needs as a running mate. Obama would be hard pressed to find a running mate with as much foreign relations experience/knowledge/smarts.

Obama/Biden '08!

Michael Nordine   May 15th, 2008 1:32 pm ET

This is why I love Biden.

Will from Gaithersburg   May 15th, 2008 1:32 pm ET

Senator Biden, I concur!

Laura   May 15th, 2008 1:32 pm ET

Amen! It is just about time someone actually spoke out against the inane rhetoric of the Bush administration. I am sure Biden will catch some heat for his choice of words, but what is more vulgar – a naughty word or the unnecessary invasion and slaughter of innocent Iraqis? If you choose the word, you need to have a long, hard think about your moral code.

FedUpinJax   May 15th, 2008 1:32 pm ET

You go Sen. Biden! I sure wish you were our presidential nominee!

Ex-Delawarean   May 15th, 2008 1:32 pm ET

Joe Biden

You ROCK..........you should have been elected president years ago (the only reason you couldn't is because of that stupid plagarism scandal and the fact that you are from Delaware........never see any Miss Delaware's become Miss America or President!!)

Your comments were right to the point......I love a man who knows how to effectively cuss!!

kayg   May 15th, 2008 1:32 pm ET

Biden is exactly right. Bush's policies and attitudes have made the US vulnerable and a target for the terrorists. Bush is everything that the terrorists hate. I'm so glad his term is about over!

geoff   May 15th, 2008 1:31 pm ET

Bravo! At last someone tells it like it really is. Biden for Secretary of State!

Dan   May 15th, 2008 1:30 pm ET

Thank you Senator Biden!

I would hope someone could get to Mr. Bush and explain to him that he is an enormous liability to all Republicans up for election in November... Like Mr. Olbermann suggested last night, W it's time to shut the hell up.

Clay   May 15th, 2008 1:30 pm ET

I'm glad to see Senator Biden call bush out on this one.

Exbricklayer   May 15th, 2008 1:30 pm ET

I knew I liked Joe Biden for a reason. Give 'em hell Joe.

Kevin   May 15th, 2008 1:30 pm ET

Way to go, Biden.

However, I'm sure Bush's remaining uninformed supporters will be quite pleased with his statement and find nothing disingenuous or contradicting about it.

Nikole   May 15th, 2008 1:30 pm ET

Biden for VP! Lol
I appreciate your honesty and frankness, sir...

blevins   May 15th, 2008 1:30 pm ET

why couldn't this guy have been the Dems choice for Prez? Biden & Hagel would have been a great ticket.

sharon in NY   May 15th, 2008 1:30 pm ET

The last eight years have been BS....I appreciate Senator Biden's candor!

Robin Duggan   May 15th, 2008 1:30 pm ET

Kudos to Senator Biden for calling President Bush's remarks exactly what they are!

Claudia Downey   May 15th, 2008 1:30 pm ET

You GO, Biden!!!!!

Orville   May 15th, 2008 1:30 pm ET

Finally! It's about time that someone of Biden's stature and position challenge Bush's rhetoric. Bush has done so much damage to this country... it is going to take years if not decades to undo, not to say anything about the financial debt we have incurred....Biden' words are true and refreshing!

Patriot   May 15th, 2008 1:29 pm ET

BRAVO for SENATOR BIDEN! I have always appreciated your honesty. Now, I appreciate you more than ever. America needs more Patriots like you. BRAVO, BRAVO, BRAVO!

Cyrus Martin, Euless Texas   May 15th, 2008 1:29 pm ET

Sen Biden is (as always) awesome. Thank you Joe.

Alonzo Demetrius - FL   May 15th, 2008 1:29 pm ET

Here is a demonstration in his own words of why Joe Biden is so dis-trusted even by his own party. Is this his way of 'appeasing' who? The media? The democrats? The president? The Iranians?

dbacchus   May 15th, 2008 1:29 pm ET

Viva Biden! Finally somebody said it.

Sean   May 15th, 2008 1:29 pm ET

Joe Biden for Vice President.

Mark   May 15th, 2008 1:28 pm ET

Good for Biden! Finally someone not afraid to tell Bush that he is full of it and a lying bastard on top of it!

brian   May 15th, 2008 1:28 pm ET

Absolutely! Joe Biden is the MAN!

Ian   May 15th, 2008 1:28 pm ET

Joe Biden is the man.

Fred   May 15th, 2008 1:28 pm ET

Joe Biden is exactly right. Does Bush have no shame. What Bush said was yet amother pathetic example of the Republican party's attempts to stay in power forever through creating irrational fear in the minds of the voting public. However, nothing that comes out of the mouth of our idiot president surprises me anymore.

Judy   May 15th, 2008 1:28 pm ET

Biden is a strong leader to stand up to Prez Bush. At least someone loves this country enought to speak out and save us from more wars before Bush leaves office.

Josh Maloney, Oakland, CA   May 15th, 2008 1:28 pm ET

Way to go Joe Biden !! You are awesome.

J Buch   May 15th, 2008 1:28 pm ET

To use such words it sounds like Biden is on the defensive.
I believe if US spent all the money that was spent in the MIddle East we could defend our Country for 200 years – it's stupid.
We don't need any other Country for anything except to feed the belly of the Corporations.

Thank you Mr. Biden,

As Nancy Pelosi said today, "BENEATH THE DIGNITY OF THE OFFICE OF PRESIDENT AND UNWORTHY OF OUR REPRESENTATION AT THAT OBSERVANCE IN ISRAEL."

It is beyond disgrace

Concerned Citizen   May 15th, 2008 1:27 pm ET

Finally some real straight talk... Bush is full of Senator Biden's quote...

darleneinTexas   May 15th, 2008 1:27 pm ET

Right on Mr.Biden even my two year old knows George" Dumb"Bush should not be criticizing a cocker roach let alone Senator Obama.

TC   May 15th, 2008 1:27 pm ET

Thank you for posting Biden's comments uncensored.

Matt   May 15th, 2008 1:27 pm ET

Biden is a true American patriot. Why isn't this man the Democratic nominee? Because the media never gave him the time of day, and the public isn't knowledgeble enough to vote on actual issues. Pathetic. Hopefully Obama will pick him as his #2.

frank O   May 15th, 2008 1:27 pm ET

Amen Senator Biden!
All Americans MUST stand up and speak against this fear-mongering. I thought this guy (Bush) was done scaring gullible Americans. Obviously not. Wake-up America. Dont fall for this non-sense and give up another 4 years of our Children's future.

VOTE for CHANGE!
VOTE your MIND!

Tom   May 15th, 2008 1:27 pm ET

Good for Senator Biden. After 7+ years of this travesty of a government, someone finally had the courage to truthfully categorize everything this President has espoused.

Mickey   May 15th, 2008 1:26 pm ET

I think Mr. Biden needs to look at what's dropping from his behind.

Venus   May 15th, 2008 1:26 pm ET

YES!

This is getting good!

Ha,ah,ha,ha,ha,ha - what a nice way to slap Bush back to Texas!

Time to give up the "How the West was Won" ---and Wanted Dead or Alive!

Go get em' Biden!

And to Mc Cain – we will not be in Iraq for another 5-years!

Is that the best our POW- Mc Cain can do? The USA can't afford 5-more years in Iraq!

Go Obama!

Bruce Koslow   May 15th, 2008 1:26 pm ET

Senator Biden is exactly right. He is the only politician that
tells it the way it really is...

Whoever is elected President, would be very wise to have Biden
in their Cabinet.

John Bondi   May 15th, 2008 1:26 pm ET

Joe Biden is my new hero.

Bush is actually ridiculous for stating that repairing relations with Iran would be a mistake. I think we need global cooperation in order to effectively combat any miss-doings or injustices.

Please, for everyone's sake, Mr. Bush: RESIGN!

john cavanaugh   May 15th, 2008 1:26 pm ET

haha wait to call it like it is Biden

Brian Stipes   May 15th, 2008 1:26 pm ET

Real nice Senator Biden. I would expect the Chairman of a Senate Committee to be able to express themselves with a little more eloquence.

Todd C.   May 15th, 2008 1:26 pm ET

OBAMA / BIDEN 08!!!!!

NewYorkJ   May 15th, 2008 1:26 pm ET

Thank you, Senator Biden! It's disgraceful to see the president of our country make such idiotic comments. It's good to see Biden putting him in his place.

Rebecca   May 15th, 2008 1:26 pm ET

Wow, Joe Biden is the best! My thoughts exactly, Joe.... our thanks for being courageous enough to speak it aloud!!!

Gabi   May 15th, 2008 1:26 pm ET

Yes, Biden for Secretary of State!!

Jim C.   May 15th, 2008 1:25 pm ET

It's about time a leading Senator and member of the Foreign Policy Committee stood up and challenged the outrageous politics of fear the Bush has used over the past 8 years, especially in election periods. Biden would make a great V.P.

Lisa   May 15th, 2008 1:25 pm ET

That's what I'm talking about, don't sugar-coat it! Say what you mean. Kudos Sen. Biden.

Bill in CA   May 15th, 2008 1:25 pm ET

BARACK OBAMA WILL HAVE A MUCH BETTER DIALECT TO REACH ACROSS TO OTHER NATIONS WHO WE'LL NEED TO HAVE A MEETING OF MINDS.

Randy   May 15th, 2008 1:24 pm ET

I totally agree with senator Biden, honest experienced and strong

Rachel (Pittsburgher for Obama)   May 15th, 2008 1:24 pm ET

Thank you Mr. Biden! It's about time the Dems grew a pair and told this man how looney he is!

Randolph   May 15th, 2008 1:24 pm ET

Biden finally grew a pair.

Or maybe he borrowed Hillary's

Jamil - Dearborn, MI   May 15th, 2008 1:23 pm ET

Biden is da man!!! Who cares if it's not politically correct – Biden's point is absolutely right.

ENOUGH   May 15th, 2008 1:23 pm ET

BIDEN FOR PRESIDENT!!!

Charlie   May 15th, 2008 1:23 pm ET

Joe Biden needs to take a chill pill! When he rants, it would be nice to know where he gets his facts!

Diane Dunn   May 15th, 2008 1:23 pm ET

Joe Biden is absolutely correct, and I am happy to hear Democrats are standing up and calling Bush out for his lies, incompetence and hypocrisy.

Jeff G   May 15th, 2008 1:22 pm ET

YEAH BIDEN!!!!!! HOO-RAH!

FRANCES   May 15th, 2008 1:22 pm ET

Go Go Biden tell it like it is. W -has done us damage that even Obama nor McCain can repair. Clintons might be able to repair because it would be a seasoned approach.

Sheryl   May 15th, 2008 1:22 pm ET

Now there is the man who should be President!! Thank you Joe Biden. You took the words right out of my mouth.

Jeff   May 15th, 2008 1:22 pm ET

Thank you Joe Biden for giving a voice to what most Americans are thinking as well. It's refreshing to see an influential representative standing up to the outrageous lies and bullcrap that comes out of bush's mouth. Thank you for putting it all in perspective Joe. You have my vote of confidence.

Realism front and center   May 15th, 2008 1:22 pm ET

Say what you have to Biden! We hear ya! Only a few months left in the White house and Bush continues to hit new lows.

Obama/Biden '08

Billy Gibbons in Houston   May 15th, 2008 1:21 pm ET

"Joe Biden called President Bush’s comments.. "bulls–t”"

It's a joke, right? Promoting niceness with the Iranian president while profaning the president of the US? Just how is that supposed to make anyone feel comfortable with how a Democrat would treats this country?

JJ   May 15th, 2008 1:21 pm ET

Republicans they say what they want, when they want too. No matter if it's right or wrong. President Bush, thank God his term is almost over. Really Thank God! Tell It Like It is Senator Biden, Don't take that from him. It's time for the Democrates to take a stand and stand up and (not behind) but along side Senator Obama. It's time for a CHANGE.
Dem's unite as one and get the job done. YES!!!!!!!!!

DecemberFlames   May 15th, 2008 1:21 pm ET

Awesome. Go Joe Biden. I love him.

Walt   May 15th, 2008 1:20 pm ET

Don't worry Sen Biden. Come January, Bush, Cheney, Rice, Rumsfield, Lieberman, and the rest of the GOP will be playing war back on the ranch. Without access to human lives.

Jenny   May 15th, 2008 1:20 pm ET

Right on Biden! LOL

brian   May 15th, 2008 1:20 pm ET

Don't worry Biden, the democrats and their hand picked wonder bot want to talk to terrorists, did you watch the debates?

Ron J.   May 15th, 2008 1:20 pm ET

Sen. Biden is 100% correct. It appears that Bush's lame-duck apathy has reached a new low: he no longer cares even when directly contradicting his inner circle. And, yes, I'm actually complimenting Bush's intelligence by attributing this latest gaffe to apathy rather than to pathological stupidity. Is it 2009 yet?

mike   May 15th, 2008 1:20 pm ET

Biden for the dem VP! I would have given him my vote for president! How bout the next secretary of state?

Farley   May 15th, 2008 1:20 pm ET

What more can I say? I agree 100% with Senator Joe Biden, who has made the case against the President,s reckless utterances very convincingly. The President should realise that he has a very serious responsibility, and should avoid reckless grandstanding for political purposes on a matter as serious as this.

John   May 15th, 2008 1:20 pm ET

Yet another reason the Democrats would be better off with Biden at the top of the ticket!! Not Obama!!!

ana   May 15th, 2008 1:19 pm ET

wow...i heart joe biden

Joy Munro   May 15th, 2008 1:19 pm ET

Senator Biden and Senator Obama are so eager to talk to Iran with no substance behind it and then denie they ever said it. What a sham!

What makes them so sure they will do and undo as in Iraq and Afganastan what it has taken 4 presidents to do thus far and thousands of year of bitterness and hatred to overcome?

These Senators are all full of hot air, and there is always someone there to fluff their ball bags; i.e. the media.

It is a disgrace I can't stomack listening to these Democrats any more. I pray I am not alone...

Surendra from Pelham manor, NY   May 15th, 2008 1:19 pm ET

Senator Biden called it perfectly. This president has to go abroad to talk like this speaks mountain about his lack of foreign policy since he came to power.

Mark   May 15th, 2008 1:19 pm ET

Man I love Biden.
Obama/Biden 08 would be unstoppable. Charisma with amazing experience and wisdom.

We need more of you, Sen. Biden.

Thank you!

James Moore   May 15th, 2008 1:18 pm ET

I love Joe BIDEN...He speaks his mind. I hope OBAMA nominates him Secretary of State!

Bill   May 15th, 2008 1:18 pm ET

Amen Joe. Why this guy isn't in Obama's or Hillary's position now, I do not know. I guess because it takes a smooth-talking, word-twisting, sugar-coating person to be a successful politician. Biden is a successful LEADER; I guess too many among us can't stomach plain truth and blunt words. At this point, I will settle for him as Sec'y of State. GO BIDEN

Marge Hibbing Mn   May 15th, 2008 1:17 pm ET

That's all bush talk is.....bull....but coming from Biden another obama supporter who can't win a nomination, he has run many times before. So what does he do, support obama because he doesn't want people to think a woman could get the nod and he couldn"t.

Are You For Serious!!!!!!   May 15th, 2008 1:17 pm ET

All I have to say is way to call it Joe " No Bull" Biden. I mean why are we so scared to sit and talk to someone. I mean the number one rule of war is keep your friends close, but your enimies even closer. seems to me that atleast if you talk you may be able to better understand what they want and why they hate us so much.

Go Biden!! Good for him – finally somebody speaks up and says something. Voters are so tired of the politically correct, skirting-the-issue, non-answer answer to everything.

Whether you agree with him or not,you have to give Biden credit for speaking up.

PREACH IT BIDEN!!! Stand up for what is right!

I"m with you on that Biden. However, you can't argue with a fool. We just have to wait until he is out of office and pray he can shut up until them

Gary   May 15th, 2008 1:14 pm ET

It is about time someone called it like it really is.
Bush and his cronies have had free range for way to long.

Obama/Biden '08!

Jon   May 15th, 2008 1:13 pm ET

Nowhere in Bush's speach did he even mention by name BHO or any other oerson for that matter. I believe Biden has guilty feeling. What a bunch of crap.

Sue, Bloomington, IN   May 15th, 2008 1:13 pm ET

Is stupidity an impeachable offense? Biden is right on with his criticism of Bush.

Marie   May 15th, 2008 1:12 pm ET

Good for you Senator Biden. It's about time someone starts calling these people out on their ridiculous form of division. Let's fix healthcare, education and energy policies now. Enough of this BS!

Chanda-Cincinnati Ohio   May 15th, 2008 1:12 pm ET

OBAMA/BIDEN O8' ND 12'!!!!!!!!!!!! President Bush should really just go sit down and shut up!!!!!!! Anything he says at this point sounds like blah, blah, blah. The government in this country needs to get off its high horse and realize we are not alone on this big rock we call earth, and sitting down and having dialogue with...not appeasing..our so called enenemies is the first step in breaking down the misunderstandings and barriers. The United State's John Wayne cowboy attitude is exactly why we have lost our luster and shine on the world stage. We use to command respect, now the world chokes back giggles. Bush has made us a laughing stock, and Annie Oakley won't help the matter with her nuke Iran attitude!!!!!!!!!!!

Rory O Shea   May 15th, 2008 1:12 pm ET

Allright Biden! Saying it like it is!!!!

Carol   May 15th, 2008 1:12 pm ET

This is outrageous and shameful. How could Sen. Biden use such public remarks about the President? He should resign.

Sharon, Raleigh NC   May 15th, 2008 1:12 pm ET

Love Biden!!!! He should have been our nominee.

John   May 15th, 2008 1:12 pm ET

Finally!!!! Someone calls it like it is. I've always liked Biden's straightforwardness. Too bad he didn't have enough money to buy the nomination like remaining candidates.
Bush's half baked, half executed foreign policy has created a greater mess than we could have imagined 8 years ago. I've always opposed the war but I might have more respect if we had gone into our fight against the world with full force. At least it would have been a determined approach instead of this guess and wait game thats only slowly bleeding us dry.
Well, it can only get better next year. Only 249 days of the failure left!!!

shame on you bush.............

Go Biden   May 15th, 2008 1:11 pm ET

Very well said, Senator Biden.

Joe Biden has evolved into one of the very few people who speaks his mind and is right on the money. Thanks Senator, we need more like you.

mcmanus   May 15th, 2008 1:08 pm ET

Very well stated. It's about time that folks like Biden stand up and challenge Bush on his asinine statements. He's going to go right to the end of his term reinforcing the fact that he's one of the most incompetent presidents in history.....and he still doesn't realize it nor have the common sense to keep his mouth shut!

Chris from NY   May 15th, 2008 1:08 pm ET

Thank you Mr. Biden. I wish I can put it the way you said it. I can't but I am glad someone else can.

Gregory T   May 15th, 2008 1:08 pm ET

I LOVE BIDEN. He is going to be an EXCELLENT Secretary of State for Obama. He has no compunction in speaking the truth.

Lann Bogie   May 15th, 2008 1:08 pm ET

I am a middle school Civics teacher. I think this comment by Joe Biden is completely inappropriate. Whether or not you agree with everything the president does or says, his position demands respect. A person in Biden's position should be acting more professionally.

Steven in Oregon   May 15th, 2008 1:08 pm ET

Well put Biden...I have a newfound respect for you

Dee   May 15th, 2008 1:08 pm ET

If anyone critcizes Biden for making that comment, they're full of sh-t.

Seriously though, way to go Joe. Now, if you were just less prickly enough you could make a decent Sec-State.

alex   May 15th, 2008 1:07 pm ET

Go Joe!
It's about time someone put that clown in his place. If only we had more people like Senator Biden, maybe this war could have been stopped in the first place. Moreover, maybe we could have impeached Bush. Oh well, woulda coulda shoulda.

What better endorsement for Obama than Bush trying to scare people with yet more tales of increased terrorism if Obama is elected!! Bush and his lies once again trying to influence America. Glad Mr. Biden called it like it is ... I think 8yrs of "Bush-s-t" is enough.

Carmen   May 15th, 2008 1:07 pm ET

Gotta love that Joe Biden.

Truer words have rarely been spoken.

Berat (Pronounced buh-RAHT), Park Ridge, IL   May 15th, 2008 1:07 pm ET

Yet another reason why the first political candidate to whom I gave any money was Joe Biden. He's gonna make a great secretary of state.

Chris   May 15th, 2008 1:07 pm ET

An Obama aide has direct talks with Hamas which is in fact a terrorist organization.

Iran is far from a terrorist state and I think Biden is really confused.

Adam E   May 15th, 2008 1:07 pm ET

Ohhh so that's why Biden recieved about 4 votes for the democratic nomination. It must be just a coincidence that virtually all terrorist organizations that have spoken out on the issue have indicated a preference toward Obama in the 08 elections.

Douglas -- Rochester, MN   May 15th, 2008 1:06 pm ET

Don't sugar-coat it, Senator Biden; tell us what you REALLY think!!!

Lee-- Dallas, TX   May 15th, 2008 1:06 pm ET

Biden is right. November can't come fast enough. Dems may have differences in the party but there is no doubt that this type of policy will be allowed to continue.

McCan't will not win in November because the Democratic Party will come together and not allow this RNC mess to ever happen again.

It is beyond time for the the Democratic Party to come together and dethrone this foolishnes.

Independent   May 15th, 2008 1:06 pm ET

Thank you Joe Biden, it is about time someone speaks....Sen. Biden isn't a lose for words, it is time that more of the Congress gets a back bone and speak what they really think....I'm sick and tired of their scare tatic's....

This President has led us all down a path and they sure aren't loaded with rose petals....how many days are left????

Chuck Pfeifer   May 15th, 2008 1:06 pm ET

Joe Biden is spot on with his comments. No one LIKES him here so he thought he'd play up to the Jews in hope of getting any positive response his leadership. Like Biden, I believe Bush should spend more time in Tehran instead of Tel Aviv.

Jesse, Burnsville, MN   May 15th, 2008 1:06 pm ET

Gotta love Biden. Going off like this would make it hard for him to become Pres or VP, but it sure makes him a powerful Senator.

Keep it up.

Darth Vadik, CA   May 15th, 2008 1:06 pm ET

Good for you Biden, it is a Bulls**t comment.

I feel sorry that you will appologize for it later, we know you will, because Democrats always appologize and Republicans don't.

Way to go Biden, here is the righteous anger Democrats and Americans needed to be showing against Bush's war from the beginning. I love Joe Biden; he'd be a great secretary of state.

Manuel TX   May 15th, 2008 1:03 pm ET

I'm no fan of Bush, having voted against him twice, but Biden's comment is not true.

Obama himself has said that the pre-conditions that the Bush administration has required for any formal diplomatic efforts with Iran need to be dropped...so which is it?

|||||||||||||||||||||||

Hmm...   May 15th, 2008 1:03 pm ET

I'm glad Joe Biden was paying attention to the news and what's really going on, unlike some of our "enlightened" political representatives...

Dana Piranha   May 15th, 2008 1:03 pm ET

Go Biden! Calling that short-handled spade a short-handled spade.

Dylan   May 15th, 2008 1:03 pm ET

THIS IS WHY I LOVE JOE BIDEN!

Bush's comments were Bull___. In fact, that were lower than bull___. No one has done more to help the terrorists than George W. Bush.

I just keep telling myself that we only have a few more months of these moronic clown in office.

Obama all DAY!   May 15th, 2008 1:03 pm ET

Wow, you tell 'em Biden.

JenNYC   May 15th, 2008 1:03 pm ET

I like Joe Biden more and more. Tell it like it is!!!

Tracy - Oakley, CA   May 15th, 2008 1:03 pm ET

Thank goodness Biden has come out and said what everyone else is aware of. How do you solve problems without communications? Bush is such an idiot. What is wrong with him? He really makes us look stupid on a regular basis.

Obama v McCain   May 15th, 2008 1:03 pm ET

HOO-RAH! you tell'em Biden!..thats why i love this country.. you can tell the Prez he's full of it without fear of reprecutions!!!
GOTTA LOVE THE U.S of A

Go Barak!

Proud American   May 15th, 2008 1:03 pm ET

Thats right Republicans it aint gonna work this time. We're not gonna let ya tell the public lies like you've been doing for the last 8 years. Its a new dawn! You tell'em Mr. Biden!

David, Santa Rosa, CA   May 15th, 2008 1:03 pm ET

Go Sen. Biden! That GW believes he has one iota of credability re: foreign relations and that the world or the people of the GOP would listen to this is... BS!

I think these types of comments only helps Sen. Obama and do much more harm to Sen. McCain.

david Nouakchott, Mauritania   May 15th, 2008 1:02 pm ET

Hurray for someone with Courage to say it like it is. Biden for President!
David

RB from NH   May 15th, 2008 1:02 pm ET

Obama/Biden '08!!!!!!

Beverly, NYC   May 15th, 2008 1:02 pm ET

Mr. Biden I could not have said it better myself. BTW Mr. soon to be ex-president how goes the search for Osama Bin Laden, remember him?

Charles in Florida   May 15th, 2008 1:02 pm ET

That's right Senator Biden, call "W" out for the mess he's caused! Bush needs to explain himself about that comment when he gets back from Israel. I hope Bush doesn't fire Dr. Rice or Mr. Gates though, since they both are doing a better job than he is.

Greg, NY   May 15th, 2008 1:02 pm ET

Biden = better straight talk then you'd get from McCain any day of the week.

Independent for Obama   May 15th, 2008 1:02 pm ET

Couldn't have said it better myself, Biden.

Dem   May 15th, 2008 1:02 pm ET

Yes Yes Yes

It is time for Democrats to stand up and attack the Republicans. The Republican party having failed in all aspects are now using the fear mongering tactics to scare voters.

The democrats must not only fight back but learn how to fire punches if they have to win. Remember what happened to John Kerry?

Dems wake up and lets start the fight.

Thank you Joe Biden for your harsh words.

Marc in DeKalb, IL   May 15th, 2008 1:02 pm ET

Right or wrong, you'd think the chair of the senate foreign relations committee would have phrased his response more eloquently and appropriately.

I'm unhappy with Sen. Biden over his wording, not his response.

pablo rachi   May 15th, 2008 1:02 pm ET

way to go Biden, you rock

D   May 15th, 2008 1:01 pm ET

OBAMA / BIDEN '08

Charlie   May 15th, 2008 1:01 pm ET

Good Job Biden call him out, if anything bush should fire himself.

Jan Boca Raton, Fl   May 15th, 2008 1:01 pm ET

I LOVE BIDEN... HE WOULD HAVE MADE A GREAT PRESIDENT.

Peggy Greensboro NC   May 15th, 2008 1:01 pm ET

God Bless Joe Biden! I would have welcomed him as President and I would welcome him as a VP candidate

Megan O. Toronto, ON, Canada   May 15th, 2008 1:01 pm ET

I always liked that Joe Biden LOL

Tyler   May 15th, 2008 1:00 pm ET

The republicans sure know how to use BS to put fear in the minds of people. Hopefully no one is that dumb this time.

Diane Boyd   May 15th, 2008 1:00 pm ET

Way to go Joe! I am so proud of you for speaking out the truth. We need more like you who are willing to speak out.

Praetorian, Fort Myers   May 15th, 2008 1:00 pm ET

By the way...Mr. Biden...

With the exception of Iraq....terrorist attacks world wide have been down for over 5 years.

Justin (ny)   May 15th, 2008 12:59 pm ET

Wow, i'm sure he'll get panned for his use of profanity, but honestly this sort of anger is wholly understandable after the fear tactics Bush used in his speech. This as as honest a response to Bush's recent despicable comments as you'll find.

Amen Mr. Biden!

Mike in Columbus   May 15th, 2008 12:59 pm ET

Go Biden,

Too bad this guy didn't make it further. But he speaks to plainly to be elected. We Americans like stuff watered down, and sugar-coated...

Praetorian, Fort Myers   May 15th, 2008 12:59 pm ET

Easy to say when you're an armchair quarterback...and a nut.

Clearly, we need a third option.
Bob Barr...common sense, based on the constitution and bill of rights–not social/economic special interests–for real.

Bob Barr, Libertarian, 2008...

Let's muzzle Biden and others–vote out all incumbents and start fresh!!

Tired of W, OH   May 15th, 2008 12:59 pm ET

Tell it like it is Biden! LOL!

Jo from Lisbon, Portugal   May 15th, 2008 12:58 pm ET

Is this what a President should do?
Make campaign overseas and bad mouthing fellow Americans.
WHAT HAPPENS AT HOME SHOULD STAY AT HOME.
Shame on you Mr. President.

Brian, RI   May 15th, 2008 12:58 pm ET

Let him have it!

Charlotte   May 15th, 2008 12:58 pm ET

If you don't like McCain and can't stand Obama, write Hillary on your ballot in November.

Thomas   May 15th, 2008 12:58 pm ET

Want Hate in 08' Vote Obama!

A CANUCK   May 15th, 2008 12:58 pm ET

I think Bush should just ....sit and contemplate his navel......until his term expires !!!!!!!!!!!

Margeaux   May 15th, 2008 12:58 pm ET

I wonder if Obama will sit and listen to the terrorists in the same way he listened to his minister?

Peggy   May 15th, 2008 12:58 pm ET

Biden would complement Obama well as a VP. Obama/Biden 2008!!!

An American   May 15th, 2008 12:57 pm ET

Thank you Joe Biden for standing up!

YOLA   May 15th, 2008 12:57 pm ET

Biden is being kind! I have a stronger word for this!
