Biden calls Bush comments 'bulls**t'

Biden had some strong words for the president.
Biden had some strong words for the president.

(CNN) - The chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee Joe Biden, D-Delaware, called President Bush’s comments accusing Sen. Barack Obama and other Democrats of wanting to appease terrorists "bulls**t” and said if the president disagrees so strongly with the idea of talking to Iran then he needs to fire his secretaries of State and Defense, both of whom Biden said have pushed to sit down with the Iranians.

“This is bullshit. This is malarkey. This is outrageous. Outrageous for the president of the United States to go to a foreign country, sit in the Knesset…and make this kind of ridiculous statement,” Biden said angrily in a brief interview just off the Senate floor.

“He’s the guy who’s weakened us. He’s the guy that’s increased the number of terrorists in the world. His policies have produced this vulnerability the United States has. His intelligence community pointed that out not me. The NIE has pointed that out and what are you talking about, is he going to fire Condi Rice? Condi Rice has talked about the need to sit down. So his first two appeasers are Rice and Gates. I hope he comes home and does something.”

He quoted Gates saying Wednesday that we “need to figure out a way to develop some leverage and then sit down and talk with them.”

Bush is probably the dumbest president we have had in 100 years. It was a bunch of clowns that voted for him the second time. With 20% approval rating apparently someone out there wishes they hadn't.

I adore Joe Biden. In truth, he was the most experienced foreign policy candidate and I'm certain there will be a place for him in the new administration.

The thing is, that the President's remarks are right on the money!! If you look at the history of the past 4 years, the Democrats have belittled our troops, belittled our country and have been looking for ways to blame the President for everything while they look to appease and strengthen the enemy by giving them hope by demanding that our troops be pulled out immediately. If that is not appeasement, I don't know what is!!

As usual, CNN ommitted my comments on this earlier.

Da*n is this blog biased or what??????????????

Way to go, Joe Biden. I hope Obama asks you to be his Secretary of State or Secretary of Defense! As for Bush, he doesn't value peace-making!

Is anyone really listening to Bush anymore? Does he actually have a shred of credibility or decency left? Some politicians don't know when the party's over and it's time to go. Perhaps that is how he can face himself in the morning- through his golf sacrifice for our troops and by remaining delusional.

Has President Bush lost his mind. Is his memory so bad that he does not remeber that it is he who has caused our problems and his man Cheney – January 2009 will not come soon enough to send these to packing.

  20. that's hilarious

I applaud the remarks, but I do not applaud the HORRIBLE INEFFICENCIES of our House and Senate.

They can blaim Bush all they want, but THEY are the ones with more power, and these morons choose to do nothing.

Look no further than Senator Obama. From the state senate to the US senate to president, he has spent more time RUNNING for office than actually being in session... it's pathetic...

when will we hold these people accountable?

That a boy Joe!!! Thats exactly what Democrats should have been doing the last 7 years. Stand up to the idiocy and call him out on it. Maybe its too late, but its good to see some backbone returning to this party!

Way to strike back at Bush...He has absolutely no credibility anywhere in the world and yet he has been gall to take pot shots at democrats from half way around the world. Nice.

Bush you are quite simply a disgrace to the American people. Please just shut up and move back to Texas.

I like this Biden guy. Hillary is no competition with him, but Obama can offer something he cannot.

Hope Biden can straighten out this new father of the bride.
President Bush must have been too happy about Jenna's wedding.
