Biden calls Bush comments 'bulls**t'

Biden had some strong words for the president.
Biden had some strong words for the president.

(CNN) - The chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee Joe Biden, D-Delaware, called President Bush’s comments accusing Sen. Barack Obama and other Democrats of wanting to appease terrorists "bulls**t” and said if the president disagrees so strongly with the idea of talking to Iran then he needs to fire his secretaries of State and Defense, both of whom Biden said have pushed to sit down with the Iranians.

“This is bullshit. This is malarkey. This is outrageous. Outrageous for the president of the United States to go to a foreign country, sit in the Knesset…and make this kind of ridiculous statement,” Biden said angrily in a brief interview just off the Senate floor.

“He’s the guy who’s weakened us. He’s the guy that’s increased the number of terrorists in the world. His policies have produced this vulnerability the United States has. His intelligence community pointed that out not me. The NIE has pointed that out and what are you talking about, is he going to fire Condi Rice? Condi Rice has talked about the need to sit down. So his first two appeasers are Rice and Gates. I hope he comes home and does something.”

He quoted Gates saying Wednesday that we “need to figure out a way to develop some leverage and then sit down and talk with them.”

It's about time that this is said by a elected official. The Bush doctrine has weakened this nation and placed it at risk. Talk does not equal appeasment, no talk equals isolationalism and firmentaion of issues.

We need to deal with issues head on in a mature diplomatic way, that is not the way of the Bush adminstration.

I am so glad we only have to listen to Bush for another few months. And why would he do that over seas. I think what Bush did is equvilant to a husband talking about his sppouse in public...very poor taste.

I,dont understand how one cannot sit with somebody that calls you his enemy and at least find out his grouse? Now everybody wants to kill Americans because we are not talking, we are not even trying to know why 'they hate us so much'. I dont think it is a sign of weakness to talk. It is a sign of strenght. Bush keeps messing up everything.

What is this? Serious hard-nosed truth from Washington? Wow, Mr. Biden...I applaud you for telling it like it is. Now, if yourself, and the rest of the Senate and Congress would tell the REST of the truth, about how screwed up this country is because of the current administration, who apparently got their education from a combination of G.I. Joe cartoons and evangelistic ramblings....then maybe together we could send a message to the rest of the world...after we delivered the criminals to the courts.

Stand tall, Stand true....not many people will.

I cannot believe this man that has done more damage to US credibility in the world stage than any other US president. The man that brought his only partner in the world stage, Mr Blair down for being his poppet. For Bush to come up with such a crazy accusations is just beyond me.

Considering his dismal track record in the last 8 years, he is probably the least qualified president in US history to celebrate the anniversary of state of Israel. He should go and shut up just like Blair and disappear from public life like Blair had to do in UK. These two losers never helped anyone in Middle East including the Israelis.

You will not solve anything in that part of the world unless you talk to everyone on the stage and try and make everyone's lives better, and that including both Israelis as well as Palestinians.

    Give 'em hell, Joe.
What a deceptive, conniving, lying rodent he is.
It's refreshing to see someone calling him on it. The rest of the Democratic party needs to take note, and grow a spine.
