Why does the Whitehouse avoid the issue of proper district apportionment?

I do not blame the President for do not think his administrative staff let him acknowledge the principle, the Administration is worried they will loose control of a power they are not meant to have, such as the privilage to bomb Iran without question.

Well...somebody should be bringing some reality to this smoke and mirrors battle of idealogies!!

Fact is ...the future President has to deal with the facts..as they are. Over time they may be able to change the facts as they are...but what they will inherit is the real world of the right now.

I don't think any of them are in the real world!!!

or, as I like to say... George W. Bush... like a rock... only dumber.

It will be a relief when he's gone. I just want a president who reads and can pronounce "nuclear"

If the presedent claims he was'nt refering to senitor obama then he should be asked who he was refer to, to make such an outragouse comment At a time of celebration for the israli people. The man has no shame , no regaurd for the lives of others and certainly no manners. And has been let off the hook to many times, why are the people who can protect us from this insanity not calling for impechment.

I would like to see how Bush applies his current logic to a deployed Soldier in a combat zone. What if, when I was serving in Iraq, I or our military decided there was no reason or place for talking with anyone who has bad ideas. What if I decided to simply open fire every time there were locals around me (which I did not do). There is such a thing as escalation of force.... There is such a thing as strategy in military relations, general foreign relations, and in state or constitutional development.
While President Bush would rather go in (anywhere!), with guns blazing and finger poised above the "red button," there are other intellectual stages that should be part of the process. No one is saying here that there should be no preparation for military action against terrorist states or leaders. The point is that military action should not be the FIRST resort in our relation-building (which now has to start from the beginning in many cases thanks to Bush's immature, narrow, Neo-con approach), it SHOULD be the LAST.

Escalation of force is not the same thing as appeasement or negotiation. Wouldn't you think our Commander in Chief would know the difference?!!

I listened to part of that speech live and the excerpt that you are referring to and I don't think that the comment was limited only to Barack Obama.

The fact is a lot of people have the same views including our allies in other countries.

People seem to think this so called war in Iraq can be turned off like your front porch light on Halloween.

If we don't want the monsters to come anymore we just flip a switch and go watch the rest of Deal or No Deal.

Life doesn't work that way.... Life is not that simplistic

The fact is we should have been more aggressive from the start in Iraq. We should have blown up their weapons caches when they were found and not let them get back into the hands of the people...... We should have had a take no prisoners for anyone pointing a gun at our troupes the first month and then the following months would have turned toward peace. We should have shut down their borders so no one could get in or out.

Unfortunately our military was lacking in these areas and because we allowed them to regain their weapons and because there have been billions of dollars stolen and 800,000 small arms "lost or unaccounted for" that we brought to that country.... The fighting goes on.

War is war either you fight it like your life depends on it or you don't fight at all.

People strongly supported the war in Iraq with a blood lust but once they understood that war is not pretty and that unlike a kids computer game you cant hit restart everyone lost the fortitude to go on.

Personally I was against the war from the start. And by the start i mean when the First Bush started this war many years ago.... I felt at that time that Iraq was going to endup like Afghanistan did for Russia.

Afghanistan was a major but not only reason that the USSR broke up.

It was a war that a Super Power Lost.

Iraq will be to us the same. We have dumped a Trillion dollars into that war and have had little or no effect on a final peace.

Our country is failing, Our Tech companies and Banks are being bought out or closing down, Our manufactured goods all come from China, Our Energy Costs have quadrupled.

Obama is full of himself if he feels that he is the only person in the world that has the same ideas he holds.

Every country in the world with the exception of a hand full of troupes has pulled out of Iraq and broke their agreement to fight this.

I don't think we should have ever fought this war
we should have put that money into protecting our own country and borders.

Each night 3,000 people or the equivalent of One Military Brigade crosses our southern border. They bring Drugs, Weapons and even our best police can not stop them.

This is insane.

and Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting the same result.

We need to worry about us for once.

We need to stop forcing practically at gun point places like Burma to take billions in our Aid when they don't want it.

We need to stop giving our money away to everyone who will not stand by our side.

We need to be energy independent.

We need to be Honest.

We don't need people like Barack Obama or hillary clinton or john mccain.....

Unfortunately we have all but for the pull of a leaver condemed ourselves to 4 more years of regression.

Every last one of the idiots fighting to lead us will let us down in the end because just like Obama takes this too personaly all of them think the job they are about to take is a personal matter.

The presidency is not personal

For 4 years you give up every aspect of your life to make the lives of 300 million other people better.

They dont understand this and never will.

Sorry this is so long

To all those who tout experience and Obama's lack of it think about this - on one hand we have two so called experienced people - this lunatic GWB ( I need to say no more) and Clinton saying 'obliterate' Iran and you wonder why OBama with his cool head, judgement and diplomacy is winning.
Obama has no need to and can gain nothing from building tactics to try and degrade a person. The republicans and their switch hitter- puppet HILARY have continuously tried to smear him and from the looks of it the republicans fear him and Hilary has to lie about him, so people you do the math. OBAMA WILL BE PRESIDENT LIKE IT OR NOT!!! OBAMA '08

George Bush is pitiful! In the interest of National Security, he should be prevented from speaking because he and his speech writer have no clue of what they're talking about! I have no doubt that he was just reading lines without any understanding of what those lines mean from a historical perspective. His whole intention was to try to sully Obama's character. He failed in that, but he did show himself to be a fool.
Wolf, please stop trying to pretend George Bush has "good sense"!

Typical Bush politics. Let's implicitly smear the competitor without actually owning up to it and deny the real meaning of out remarks. AND Do it on foreign soil. Talking to enemies naive? Well, not even willing to communicate has cost Americans thousands of lives. I want someone who will LISTEN in the White House, even when the what is being said is not something they agree with. And I won't cop out and just imply who I'm talking about, I want Barack Obama in the White House!!

I have to say it again. What a stupid stupid man or as a Canadian politician said , " He's a moron " !!! The U.S. negotiates with the PLO , remember them? A terrorist group and enemies of the U.S , now partners in a peace effort. But Bush isn't expected to know too much about anything and he seems to be proud of that fact , always taking any opportunity to show off his ignorance !!!

Yea right, Bush has shown us what can be acomplished in 8 years by not talking to our enemies, not builidng a consensus with our friends, or not tyring to win supporters. Remeber, he was the uniter, not the divider -- thank goodness -- if he was the divider, where would we be today. We don't need Bush's advice on anything in international relations or how to make a safer world.

The morning paper wrote that gasoline will be $7.00 a gal. by 2009. I go inside and all the news stations want to talk about is the middle east. Someone should tell the oil baron visiting Israel that the problems are back at home. As soon as we Americans abandon the problems of the globe and concentrate on the well being of our country we can start to re-build. Sorry Mr. Entrepreneur, but your world wide market has dissolved. You need to take your earnings and invest in America while you have a chance or we may not be there when you need us.

I'll bet John McCain does not want the Republican slim machine to go after Michelle Obama. It will make his Stepford wife fair game. She'll be back in rehab before the end of September.

I'll take Michelle Obama any day of the week. She blows Ms. McCain away - not even in the same league!

The comments of President Bush should be a spring board for uniting all Democrats. They are shameful and terribly misinformed. Obama has called for aggressive diplomacy, not appeasement. This is an outrageous slander. His legislative record supports Israel without exception.

During the July 2006 Lebanon war, Barack Obama stood up strongly for Israel's right to defend itself from Hezbollah raids and rocket attacks, cosponsoring a Senate resolution against Iran and Syria's involvement in the war, and insisting that Israel should not be pressured into a ceasefire that did not deal with the threat of Hezbollah missiles. He believes strongly in Israel's right to protect its citizens.

Whether your support Clinton or Obama, set it aside and focus on removing the Republicans from the White House. We have not been represented in this administration for 8 long years. Enough is enough. Democrat in 08!

AND this is how Republicans try to get you!
I hope everyone is smarter than this. Obama wants to work on peace and he IS NOT saying he is giving in to terrorists in any way at all!

What is so laughable to me is that our current foreign policies and the horrible failed Iraq War under Bush - have left us out in the cold to most of the rest of the world. So who's got our back when there is a war? crickets.....crickets.....

What do you honestly think John McCain will do? He has the same policies as Bush, it doesn't make our country SAFER! It makes more and more countries pull away from us as allies.

Let's fight terror, finish the job and capture Osama Bin Laden, and strengthen our Homeland Security. But, let's ALSO try to work with other countries to make this a more peacful world. DUH!

I don't agree with too much of what Bush says; but he's right this time. No amount of talk is going to alter the agendas of the radical rulers of Iran, North Korea, Venezuela, etc. Obama has about as much chance of success with those countries as with his goal of uniting Republicans and Democrats relative to solving this countries domestic problems. It just isn't going to happen.

Just wait! they are just getting warmed up. You Obomites think Hillary was a pain in the butt? The Republicans are going to show the junior Senator what the real deal is.

Obama will cry like a baby!

No-Bama, No-way, No-how. I'm for Hillary to the end. I'm not falling for Obamas fake olive branch to Clinton supporters. All the Obama hacks who have trashed Hillary over all these months have me so fed up that I would never even think of voting for Obama come November.

NOBAMA,
I've thought about it and finally decided after careful consideration that you are just STUPID. Ever hear of the saying, keep you're friends close and your enemies closer?... Now go report back to the Clintons or Repubs whomever you work for.

I'm confused as to how Clinton has more foreign policy experience than Obama. If someone could clarify that, I would be very appreciative.

And as far as Bush's comments- is the President really attacking someone else on the issue of foreign policy? Look in the mirror, buddy.
