(CNN) – On the same day that Sen. John McCain gave an ambitious speech laying out what he intends to accomplish by the end of his first term in office, his campaign released an accompanying Web ad dramatizing those hypothetical achievements.
“The year: 2013,” an announcer says as the words “2013” appear on screen. Then the ad goes through a laundry list of accomplishments McCain envisions: stabilizing the Middle East, reducing the threat of nuclear terrorism, strengthening border security, advancing energy independence, reforming wasteful spending by the federal government, delivering health care choice, and restoring economic confidence. “The year: 2013, the president: John McCain,” the announcer says as McCain’s image appears on screen.
McCain, the Republican Party’s presumptive presidential nominee, has been touring fall battleground states for the past several weeks while he lays out his policy proposals and reaches out to constituencies he will need to win the White House in November.

Democrats unite! Enough bashing each other. It is pretty certain that Obama is the winner. Clinton supporters - it wasn't some DNC conspiracy against Senator Clinton. It is simply that a lot of people liked Obama, a lot of people liked Clinton and Obama received more votes. I like the way the Democratic party works - "winner take all" primaries don't give us a candidate that is chosen by the majority of the people. "winner take all" primaries do not make it so that all our votes count. Both sides have played politics - because obviously that is how the game is played. But politics doesn't need to be mean but can be an intelligent conversation. So the race is almost over. Five more states to go. And it does look like it will be Obama. So enough of the "I'll vote McCain" if my candidate doesn't win the primary. Do you really really want more of a Bush reign? Imagine what the Democrats can do with a Democratic president and a Democratic majority in Congress. This can be an awesome period in our history. So please let's all get together and put this country back on the right track!

Stock market has crashed. millions more Americans are sick and dying because they have no health care. Of course big CEO's of oil companies, Haliburton, etc. are living it up. Sounds like a real promising future.

How many posters here who claim "Hillary or McCain" are even democrats at all. List of odd occurrences this primary season:
- Hillary gained the support of Fox news and the Vast Right wing conspirators to back her campaign.
- The media has pushed Obama has a "white" problem despite winning a half a dozen states that have next to no Blacks. both Iowa and Washington State... 3% black or less. Vermont? Wyoming?
- Some Hillary supporters actually attacked Michelle Obama with the same language used to attack Hillary a decade ago... what short memories we have.

I hate to tell all of you Obama supporters but he is in no way going to have troops home by 2009 or in 2009. The only people coming home then will be the ones that are already scheduled on the books now to come back . If you seriously ask anybody in the military they can tell you in reality it just is not possible. Equipment alone will take a year or more and there will be people left back just like there are in Korea, Germany, and Bosnia. Don't forget about Afganistan . We are still there too and the troops are there for 15 months as well. So listen to the fluff about troops in Iraq.....with no mention of Afganistan. This war will be going on for a long time to come no matter who wins in November. Two are at least honest about it while one is lying through his teeth.
