Obama picks up four more superdelegates

(CNN) – Barack Obama picked up four more superdelegates Thursday, his campaign announced.

Washington Rep. Jim McDermott, California Rep. Henry Waxman, California Rep. Henry Berman and Communications Workers of America President Larry Cohen will all cast their superdelegate votes for the Illinois senator.

Waxman and Berman both have ties to the Clintons, and many of their prominent supporters in California are supporters of Hillary Clinton.

The CWA said Thursday that Cohen's endorsement is a personal one and does not signal an endorsement by the union, which decided last year that it would not back a candidate. In a Thursday release, the union said that decision would be re-visited at its June convention.

According to CNN's estimate, Obama now has 291 superdelegates to Clinton's 274.

Thank God we are finally coming together to unite as one party. Thanks to all those who will come with us.

Truly there is a need to become one BIG PARTY and no more Bush/Mccain. Enough is enough.

It's not because they believe he is better than Clinton, it's because they are vying for a space in his cabinet.

    Self serving politicians!

I am sure Hillary knows she will not win the nomination. Unfortunately her supporters just can’t handle that reality. All I can say to them is:

When you can’t discuss issues, when you can’t justify the actions of your candidate, when your last gasp is the popular vote instead of delegate count; why take out your frustration and inadequacies by demeaning and insulting anyone that doesn’t adore your candidate.

Instead of telling us how you will vote for McCain, spend your time praying to the Patron Saint of Lost Causes.

We many, we happy many, we band of brothers and sisters. For those that vote with me in November for Obama shall ever be my Family. That vote shall change our condition. Voters that stayed away or voted otherwise shall think themselves accursed. And they shall stay silent while any speak that voted with us on that blessed day.

Excellent. I wonder what twist Hilary Clinton will put on this now. She has fought a dirty, smearing, and pandering campaign, and is stil down by all measurements. And yet she keeps taking people's money and acting like she has a way to win. Well if people are stupid enough to send her money, they deserve to lose it.

Don't let yourselves be played by the republicans. All of this "divisiveness" within the democratic party has been fueled by republicans posing as democrats.

Operation Chaos is still going full steam. Their goal is to divide our party because they know that is their only chance for November.

We must unite behind our nominee – whoever it is – and make sure a democrat ends up in the whitehouse.

The republicans are making fools of us and laughing behind our backs. Don't be played for a fool – Vote Democrat '08 – either way.

  21. Oh. My

    It's really funny.
Dems (liberal dems) are really, really.....really...what is the word? Stupid? Nonsensical? Idiotic? Self-Destructive?
If these people, inluding Edwards, truly thought that Obama was the best nominee, WHY did they wait until he kept losing state after state? If they truly think he is best TODAY and YESTERDAY.....why not come out LAST MONTH? TWO MONTHS AGO? THREE MONTHS AGO?????????
    Can someone explain?
BTW, all the BO supporters that are now trying to kiss and make up, too late. You've clearly shown your arrogance and hatred towards Hillary. If you back-track now, you are just pandering. Just don't bother. Go celebrate. Good luck in the fall :)
