Obama picks up four more superdelegates

(CNN) – Barack Obama picked up four more superdelegates Thursday, his campaign announced.

Washington Rep. Jim McDermott, California Rep. Henry Waxman, California Rep. Henry Berman and Communications Workers of America President Larry Cohen will all cast their superdelegate votes for the Illinois senator.

Waxman and Berman both have ties to the Clintons, and many of their prominent supporters in California are supporters of Hillary Clinton.

The CWA said Thursday that Cohen's endorsement is a personal one and does not signal an endorsement by the union, which decided last year that it would not back a candidate. In a Thursday release, the union said that decision would be re-visited at its June convention.

According to CNN's estimate, Obama now has 291 superdelegates to Clinton's 274.

  5. Bob, Lyons Oregon,

We are on our way to winning the whitehouse back, thank god. Bush is just out making more trouble, someone needs to stop this man, but why bother, he has no credibility, and will go down in history as the worst leader we have had in our nation. Its just too bad he has done so much damage. I will be celebrating the day he leaves office and hopefully he will not go unpunished for his war crimes.

Enough endorsements already. Let the rest of the people vote, then all of you can come out the next day and endorse Obama. We all know he is going to be the nominee, but let the people's voices be heard first. Only a few more weeks to go. This daily roll-out of superdelegate endorsements is starting to get annoying.

Anyone with a brain and who is not mentally disturbed will get behind the Democratic nominee. The Democrats are making a mockery of our election system.
