John Mccain's dreamy visions for 2013 were quite the conversation over lunch today:

1. The league of Democracies will never fliyand will be more like "The Coalition of the Willing" as most other countries and certainly the voters within them, will view this as a US lead attempt to supercede the United Nations; the United Nations is the one way of keeping the American continuing military might in check

2. The total misunderstanding of both McCain and quite frankly the American Press of the British Parliamentary system is astounding; Cnada and Australia have the same system; our Prime Ministers to not drop by Parliament for a visit; they are part of Parliament and are there when Parliament is in session.

In fact, we do not vote for the Prime Minister; s/he is the leader of the Party having the most elected Members of Parlament after an election.
Our Cabinet, with very, very few exceptions are also elected officials, again part of the Party having the greatest numners of elected Representatives.

Like the Prime Minister they are in Parliament and are questioned by other memebers of our four party sysyem in our regular question periods when the House is sitting.

Like most Democrats, I am heartbroken to have to choose between such wonderful candidates. I was a Sen. Edwards supporter in 2004 and I have always admired Sen. Clinton. However, after careful study, I have come to believe that Sen. Obama is special and will be one of this nations greatest presidents. I will vote for Sen. Obama on May 20 but if Sen. Clinton wins the nomination, I will proudly vote for her in November.

If you really love either Sen. Clinton or Sen. Obama, then you will vote for any Democrat in November!

BTW, it is nice to see the CNN Election Express parked down the street from my home. I appreciate the high quality of political coverage CNN provides. Everyone there is so professional and informed.

Be prepared for at least another four years of Republican control - in congress and in the White House. It appears increasingly likely that Obama will win the nomination. While the number of remaining uncommitted super delegates is still sufficient to allow Clinton to catch up in the total (pledged and super) delegate count (if a large percentage of them decide to support her), she would have to perform quite well in the few remaining primaries, but not to accrue enough pledged delegates to overtake Obama's pledge delegate tally (she can't), but rather to persuade the remaining super delegates that she is the more formidable candidate. If and when there is a consensus among the remaining super delegates that Clinton has not met that burden, the remaining super delegates will commit to Obama's nomination, and Clinton will bow out of the race. I don't doubt that Clinton is in continuing communication with these super delegates for their feedback and is already preparing for this unfavorable scenario. The percentage of Clinton supporters who say they will either vote for McCain or not vote at all if Obama is the nominee (about 40%) is not likely to be offset by the percentage of new voters (mostly the youth) who support Obama, thereby seriously jeopardizing a Democratic win in the fall. I believe this abandonment by Clinton supporters is largely due to Obama's race although many will cite other reasons. Because racial prejudices are deep seated, efforts to persuade these Clinton supporters (and would-be Republican defectors who are more likely to be Clinton supporters) to cast their vote for Obama may be unsuccessful. Obama will have won the battle but will have lost the war.

John King and his little map are no longer a part of my evening viewing. I am surprised his mouth wasn't bleeding, he was biting his lips so hard to keep from showing his glee when Edwards supported Obama. He was one of the few on CNN that I thought was acting like a professional and maintaining neutrality. I'm not voting for Obama or McCain.
