john edwards is a legend. he should definately be in a cabinet whoever wins in november. either as a democrat to keep the base or in a mccain cabinet for cross party healing.

as for obama "we can change this country. we can change the world" what a load of rubbish.
i don't believe a word he says. if he wins the nomination and if he beats mccain he will probably end up being another kennedy or carter. failures.

if i were american i would vote for mccain.
i'm british and we have our own problems.

Obama has already got his top vp choice on a short list. his top choice is Governor of Kansas Kathleen Sebelius. go to the Kansas state website and read her bio and profile. she is amoderate female Governor who cna bring in the female vote and take the void of Hillary Clinton and should Obama get 8 years in office Governor Sebelius could run for President off the being the first female Vice President for 8 years. she is the daughter of a former Ohio Governor and her husband is a federal magistrate and they bring no baggage like the Clintons. and America would vote for the first black male and first female ticket together and he would not need Hillary any where near his presidency.

Always loved you John, and always will. I supported you till you dropped and then only became an Obama supporter.

I knew you will not run for VP because you are an ideological man and therefore would rather be an Attorney General prosecuting all those corrupt corporate executive who siphon off all our life savings in 401k etc.

I hope you will leave a legacy as Attorney General that any president would wish for.

Obama '08, 12. Edwards '16, '20, Billary+McBush (never ever)

My opinion of Hillary has gone steadily down, as every time she proves her own self-interests are more important than the party's. That being said, I think she -- and not Edwards -- is the only truly viable VP candidate. Only she can genuinely unite the party and bring all the Clinton backers into the Obama camp. Which would serve both her ego and the success of the party.

Jan,
We mean it. We're moderates, not liberals. McCain is moderate. This is why Hillary would have won in Nov. Liberals do not get elected in the GE's. We've learned from the hell of the Carter years.

Chris in Middletown. I produce medical exhibits for court cases like Edwards took on. You should be VERY thankful that some of the things I see daily do not happen to your family. You should also be THANKFUL there are trial lawyers (not ambulance chasers) like Edwards out their fighting for people and their injuries.
Some things are just awful. Don't ever feel sorry for the Insurance Companies, or the Dr.s that get sued from time to time. MOST and I mean MOST cases that get to trial are VERY legitimate and also very sad. Picture the doctor taking out your wife's bladder instead of her uterus, picture your child being sent home 5 times from the ER to end up dying at home from a ruptured bowel, after a simple test could have confirmed the proper diagnosis and wasn't done b/c insurance said no….I could go on forever, but just be thankful for the lawyers like Edwards.

I can't believe Edwards did that. I thought he had a great health program for the American people. My way of thinking by going with Obama he sold out his Ideals.. I really like John but now I have lost a lot of respect for him and he is not on the short list of liked politicians. To me he not only put a knife in Hillary's back but many of the people that are still going to be left out of health care He has shown to me that he is no better than the rest of them. I think he is kissing up trying to land some kind of job with the snakeoil salesman. Be it Atty Gen or the denounced VP. Can't blame someone for wanting to secure their future but in this case he has done this at the expense of many Americans and shows he was not all that serious about health plans for everyone. Sooo Sad John Boy.

Yeah, its cool that Edwards is not on boards. He would have really helped Obama get the dumb......I mean uneducated blue collar workers vote.

Hillary voters, I understand your disapointment and your anger. To be out campaigned, by rookie with all her experience in campaigning, To mismanage finances like she have done, and to have the ability to tell people anything just to get their vote. I would be mad and frustrated to.

Get over it

Obama/Anyone except Hillary 08'

McCain over Obama is a wise choice for innumerable reasons - lets start with left wing politics....then go to Reverend Wright and the beliefs that Obama and his family support from Trinity.....then go to his back door politics regarding Canada/NAFTA......then go to his healthcare policy that will exclude over 15 million people.....then how about his willful disenfranchising millions of democratic voters from Florida and Michigan.....then to the fact that he can't carry any of the major states needed to win the General Election......he is unelectable for the General Election.

I doubt that a first grader could think of all those things...and Jan from Willow Grove, PA - it seems that you are the stupid one from my point of view. Why do you support anti-american sentiment? Seems that you are not a patriot for our country if that is the case, so stick with Obama and become an equal looser in November.

Obama is an absolute disgrace. He has proven himself time and again to be racist, sexist, and a pathological liar. And Edwards is supposed to have any clout in swaying public opinion? Sorry fellow dems, but as it appears the media and their created Obamabots have picked Barry to be the nominee, this life-long dem will be voting McCain in Nov. Of course, you will hear the official request from Hillary to be party loyalists and get behind Obama. She has no choice but to say this. We however, do not have to fall in-step to appear politically correct. Millions and millions of fellow dems will be voting as independents to make certain Obama does not win the presidency. And mark my words, we will see to it that he does not make it to the presidency. This is not about party loyalty, this is about doing the right thing for our country, our future. No one is more qualified on the political stage right now than Senator Clinton. WRITE HER IN OR VOTE FOR MCCAIN!!! Either way, NOBAMA!!!!

A deal has obviously already been struck between Obama/Clinton/DNC for Obama and Clinton to run together. What I saw was three events that told me this is happening and then subsequent events. All around the same time Edwards endorsed Obama, Obama and Clinton signed agreements with the DNC to put campaign money in for the general election, Hillary in a CNN interview practically endorsed Obama and defended on every issue. Also she was heavily trying to convince her supporters not to go to McCain.

Hillary is not pushing for any more debates or pushing for money anymore hard. I think she is going to play out the last remaining primaries, concede to Obama and then Obama will announce she is his running mate.

I think the deal struck was that Hillary would get to design her healthcare plan and Obama would implement some of her economic measures. Hillary getting to do her healthcare plan is more important to her than the presidency.

I think with those factors you are going to see Obama/Clinton running together very soon.

I resent John Edwards' endorsement of Barack Obama less than 24 hours after Hillary Clinton's victory. Why couldn't the voters of WV be allowed to feel that their votes mattered? Why couldn't the Clinton campaign savor their victory?

This campaign just might force me out of the Democratic party. If Obama gets the nomination, I might not vote this fall.

That's just what I had been thinking...John Edwards - AG, Bill Richardson - Sec of State, Jim Webb - Sec of Defense, Joe Biden - Senate Majority Leader and that female governor from Kansas??? Yikes, I forget her name! But her for V.P.

I'm a woman and I think women in general are great but I won't settle for just any woman. I'm not happy about Condi and I wouldn't be happy about Hill.

It's pretty clear that Edwards -- a very good and 'scrappy' trial lawyer -- chose this time to make the endorsement because of the tone HRC took in her still-defiant, still I'm-a-winner-and-he's-not speech following her WV victory. She couldn't win, even then, and prolonging the fiction was hurting the party. So Edwards stepped in -- very appropriately and effectively.

VP? Biden would be the best choice, with Edwards for AG. He is an incredible trial tactician - you could even see it in the debates.

TO OBAMA:

THIS IS REAL NEWS:

WSJ: Obama's Strategy for Low-Turnout Caucuses Helps Drive Delegate Edge
For evidence of the strategy that has made Barack Obama the likely Democratic presidential nominee, look at Nebraska, where the candidate narrowly won a little-noticed primary Tuesday. Sen. Obama's 49% to 46% victory barely got any attention from the campaigns or the press, because the state's delegates, who vote on the nomination, were chosen in a February caucus.

DIRTY WORK OBAMA .

SHAME ON YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CAUCUS SYSTEM IS A DISASTER FOR DEMOCRACY AND FOR THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY AND IT HELPS CANDIDATES LIKE OBAMA...

Obama’s Church Printed Pro-Hezbollah Articles
Given the current news out of Lebanon it might be timely to point out that Mr. Obama’s church and his “spiritual advisor” the Reverend Doctor Jeremiah Wright were firmly on Hezbollah’s side during Israel’s limited incursion into Lebanon two summers ago.

I must give credit to Edwards.
He's smart enough not to tie his political future to an "unknown" like Barack Obama. He already has a cushy Senatorial gig and is still young enough to wait for a stronger candidate (or run himself) in 2012 or 2016.

Jan,
We mean it. We're moderates, not liberals. McCain is moderate. This is why Hillary would have won in Nov. Liberals do not get elected in the GE's. We've learned from the hell of the Carter years.

What do you think of the timing behind Edwards' sudden support for Obama? Didn't he say the day before that he would wait before deciding who to back? That he would listen to the voice of the people?

Hmmmmm ------ something more is afoot here. Sen. Clinton's clear victory in West Virginia cannot be ignored, and certainly shouldn't be ignored by her contemporaries in the Party. That is the voice of the people in that State and elsewhere. I'm a bit confused over Edwards' move. Guess he can change his mind when the circumstances don't look as good for Obama, can't he?

Republican for Hillary, you are wrong.
Independents will not vote for a Clinton, again.

bush (vp), bush (vp), bush, clinton, clinton, bush, bush = 28 YEARS OF BUSH/CLINTON IN THE WHITE HOUSE!

Mcbush would be another 4 making it 32 YEARS!
Clinton would be another 4 or 8 making it 32 to 36 YEARS!

Obama 08, change!

The Truth, it's nice to see that racism is still running rampant in this nation. You make me, and every other true American sick with comments like yours; Obama supporter or not. Do you really think that Clinton or McCain share your same views? You need to really examine your thoughts and realize you are a truly disturbed person.

Well at least he's on the right team. Anyway, this discussion about going for McCain if hillary doesn't get the nomination is really stupid. Even HILLARY said so herself. If your a democrat and you won't vote for one or the other (Hillary or O'bama) then maybe you deserve the high gas prices, high food prices, the chance to lose your home, having your son/daughter/relative in Iraq and the loss of your job. Maybe then and only then will you see the error of your racism and stupidity of having another 4 years like the last 8. Stop being prejudice.

Don't understand the timing, right after Hillarys' West Virginia landslide. Takes the emphasis off her big win and puts it back on Obama. John Edwards was actually my first choice but I think this timing was poor judgement on his part. I know he doesn't have to worry about affording health care for his wife, but Obamas heath plan only mandates health care for children. What about universal health care for adults? I have HIV and won't be able to afford the tremendous costs of my healthcare. Guess if Hillary doesn't win I'll just have to do without and go ahead and die.

To the Hillary supporters saying they plan to vote for Mccain...Good for you. Since her demographic is poor uneducated white people and older people, just take a guess who Mccain and the republicans usually hurt?

You'll be hurting yourself much more then me, my wallet and house can stand another Republican president. Can yours?

Jim from Chicago - look around and listen to the results of 8 years of attack politics - is that REALLY what you meant to say?

The country is down - we don't need that kind of people in our government any longer.

Please say you mis-spoke.

I want to hear from Elizabeth Edwards. Where was she when he endorsed Obama?

I am tired of Obama supporters calling us names because we don't want to jump on the Obama bandwagon. Most of us have good reasons why we won't be voting for Obama and his wife.

I want experience. I don't think John McCain will be another Bush. In fact, I think Obama will be. He reminds me so much of Bush 7 years ago. The same attitude and inexperience.

Edwards is an honorable man. If he's not interested in the V.P. spot, then he'll be great for Attorney-General.

This is a man who really loves his country and party, and not for what he can get.
Many superdelegates are still clinging to the "Clinton loyalty" factor which redundant. Let go of that and move forward to claim the White House with Obama.

McCain flip flops again. There is a new video out now with McCain saying that we should talk and deal with Hamas.

It's a real shame. This guy used to stand for something, now he just tries to pander to the right to get votes.

He used to be ...

1) against the bush tax cuts ... now he's for them
2) for a withdrawal from iraq ... now against it
3) for talking and dealing with hamas ... now against it

It’s my personal opinion that Hillary shouldn’t be on the ticket ac Vice President, nor should she want to be. She has as much of an ego as any man and won’t be happy. The VP job is not one of great power … it doesn’t suit her skills or ambition.

The benefit Hillary & Bill would bring to Mr.Obama can be brought in alternate ways, including the Clinton family getting on a bus and crisscrossing the rural portions of Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Western Virginia AND West Virginia, Kentucky, Arkansas, Georgia and Florida for 4 months “Stumping” for the ticket.

This avoids any negatives she has (even her most ardent supporters, if they are honest with themselves, will have to admit that she would bring additional baggage.

We should root for Mrs. Clinton to be the new Poverty Czar where she can have a real impact.

To guarantee the Democratic alternative is a winner, Mr. Obama needs to pick someone of his even keeled temperament, with more gray hair than he has (he does have some) … that puts a geographic stronghold in the Democratic column. A more recent veteran would be nice to contrast the POW phase of McCain’s life of 35 years ago.

I like General Wesley Clark. A General trumps McCain. He also helps pull Southern men away from McCain.
