WASHINGTON (CNN) - House Republicans have changed their new slogan about change.
After losing a hotly-contested Mississippi congressional seat this week, their third straight special election defeat in a row, House GOP leaders planned a public relations offensive, including a rollout of a new agenda pegged to the slogan, "The Change You Deserve."
It turns out the phrase matched a tagline for the anti-depressant drug Effexor. As word of the similarity got out, Democrats had a field day ridiculing Republicans.
House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Maryland, told reporters Wednesday, "Democrats, not drugs, is what the American people need."
House Democratic Caucus Chairman Rahm Emanuel, D-Illinois, released a list of what he called the side effects of "Republican rule,” including “nausea because what they did to the economy makes people sick to their stomach."
Asked Thursday morning if he was planning to change the slogan, House Republican Leader John Boehner said "No. I think it's working just fine."
But in an e-mail later that afternoon from GOP Conference Chairman Adam Putnam to House Republicans, the new agenda had a new name - “The Change America Deserves.”
A memo sent out hours later from Boehner's political action committee to GOP candidates also included the new slogan.

Greedy Old Pigs
DEMOCRATS........... the most dangerous thing in this country.
SOS from the GOP
I HAVE A GREAT SLOGAN FOR THE DEMOCRATS.
VOTE FOR PEOPLE NOT SCUM BAGS.
I think a brutally honest republican slogan would be "If you earn less than $100,000.00 you are a pee-on and should be forced to give all of your change (money) to your betters (the rich)." And " What do you mean by trickle down economics – we told you you are the pee-ons!"
This must be a joke of some kind....Are they (the Republicans) really that stupid????They all need to pack their bags and go home and pout because come November, they will get trounced!

The change we deserve does not come from a white house that "loses" or "forgot to back up" thousands of email evidence files.
So great to see the "Repubican" brand exposed as the tired, crusty, mean-spirited group it really is. People want real change, and that's why Obama and Hillary have been dominating the news and packing them in (in record numbers) at the polls. "Repubicans", pack your bags! And take Bushie with you!
so what?it's a dumb,' parroting',slogan, just like hillary's 'yes we can'.these campaigns have no idea how to reach the american people, without trying to copy the slogans,of another candidate.how old and lame.the same way your administrations would work.no wonder obama's having a cakewalk with these morons.
Bone heads.
GOP = change America deserves but will never have if we are in power.
Of course drugs might help the republicans or maybe that's the problem – they are on too many drugs and their leader is a boozer!
WE HAVE BEEN & ARE IN THE SEASON OF THE POLITICS
OF "IF THE LIE IS BIG ENOUGH, THEY WILL BELIEVE IT.
THEY IN THIS CASE IS US.
IRAQ IS A PERFECT EXAMPLE OF THAD DREADFUL STATEMENT.
its peon not pee-on but everything else I agree with Becky.. although maybe the 100,000 should be around 200k
Always flip-flopping.
Even the clever Karl Rove will be no match for the Obama-biased media who is handing Obama the Democratic nomination. When you're up against a love-struck, fawning, yet very powerful instittuion like the press, you're toast. Ask Sen. Clinton. She will have more votes than Obama; she had an enormous lead early on; she's by far the most capable of any of the candidates, but the media (together with help from some in the Democratic "leadership") are still probably going to be able to land the nomination for Obama.
Well the Republicans are the wrong prescription for the depression that this country is in. The change we deserve is Obama.
Oops.
But at least Republicans are finally withholding funding for the war. Wasn't that the democrats job?
How about "Trickle Down Prosperity... Pocket Change for Peons"
I think the Republicans are actually on to something here. After all the failed practices and policies from this administration, and the resulting havoc we have had to endure, we could all use an anti-depressant. Or maybe it is just lack of research which has been a prevalent theme from the Bush Administration for the last 7.5 years. I'm leaning towards the latter.
LOL, I'm feeling nauseous seeing gas prices.
L.M.A.O. Whew, I needed that chuckle! Thanks GOP! I can always count on you guys!
OBAMA 08!
And the hits just keep on coming. LOL
It's a little late for them to be copying Obama's line. Flattering to him though.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is a good thing I'm still here! I tell you what, they definitely change America.......and they deserve it, LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!
