Stark endorsed Obama Friday.

(CNN) — California Rep. Pete Stark became the latest superdelegate to endorse Barack Obama Friday.

Stark, who has represented California's 13th District for 35 years, said Obama has "captured the imagination of Americans in a way we’ve not seen for decades."

“He’s inspired millions of young people to register to vote and join the ranks of our Democratic Party, he’s consistently opposed the war, he advocates universal health care, and he delivers a message that transcends party politics at the same time," Stark also said in a statement released by the Obama campaign. “I have the greatest respect for Senator Clinton and for her many years of service, but I believe the time has come to unify our party.”

By CNN's count, Obama now leads Clinton among superdelegates by 18, 292-274.

Obama/Hillary 08

Its time to unite and the only way is with the 2 of them on the ticket.

Obama supporters want us Hillary supporters to unite, but when people talk about a ticket with the 2 of them you guys freak out and say you will not vote for that ticket. So tell me again Who is destroying our party?

I have been upset about Hillary not winning and I was going to vote McCain, But I just cant do it. But what would help me and many others with this hard time is to UNITE the 2 of them on 1 ticket!

When are you going to add this new super delegate to Barack Obama's column. What is the point of announcing it and then holding the delegate numeric count the same? Hoping to change California Rep. Stark's mind?Optically this new delegate adds a huge boost to the campaign– so why not be consistent. It is what makes you the best news team on the ground, too.

Funny. Hillary started out as the front-runner and led by over 100 superdelegates. Now, not so much. Popular vote: Obama. Pledged delegates: Obama. Superdelegates: Obama.

NO SOUP FOR YOU HILLARY!

This has to be an epic meltdown. Clinton just doesn't resonate enough with people. They don't trust her as far as they can throw her and that is a problem, whether she wants to admit it or not. Amazingly, I think she still has the opportunity to bow out gracefully.

Thank you Mr. Stark!

To all of the people who voted for George Bush and the Democratic deflectors why would we ever vote for another president who does not believe in diplomacy? People who believe that we can fix the economy, education or anything else while spending billions of dollars on this war are delusional.

Look at John McCain's health (don't) care plan. This man is not the maverick he once was. He is another 3rd term Bush. I know Clinton supporters are dissapointed but you need to vote with your head not with your heart. HRC is a loyal democrat. She will not run as an independent or encourage this ridiculous write-in notion. She will support the democratic nominee as should everyone who cares about our country!!

Obama v McCain   May 16th, 2008 12:26 pm ET

i saw on CNN yesterday that there are a lot of women who feel VERY strongly about Hillary's losing and that we should expect them to default to McCain should she not be the nominee. Outside, i can say I'd understand your anger.. but on the inside i am screaming "dont let this be your reason!!" the reason most of you are voting for Hillary is the stark contrasts between her and McCain(or at least it should be)…..so to vote for him out of spite…well that wouldn't accomplish very much. Both Democratic Senators are voices of change…something you will not be gettingfrom McCain..or it may be a change we will deathly regret!

FedUpDem   May 16th, 2008 12:26 pm ET

That is why I am voting for Democrats even though I do not believe in Democrats policies

I think what McCain is doing is absolutely fine. We cannot bring troops back soon like Obama is saying. McCain is a great guy.

I think Democrats should unite and get rid of people like Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh..

Vote for McCain is vote for these idiots who have spread so much of hate in the US

Mark M Kansas City   May 16th, 2008 12:27 pm ET

Fred please take your pathetic claim and move to another country. If you cannot see how far and away McCain is from Clintons and the democratic ticket, and are going to cry that if not Hillary then you will vote for McCain, then go join the GOP. We do not want or need you if you are truly that stupid. "If my candidate can't get in office, I will take 4 more years if Bush".

You are probably one of the morons who voted for a 2nd term Bush because you didn't want gays getting married. Congrats! We now have $4 gas, a war with no exit plan, and an economy plummeting—but by god Chuck & Larry can't get married.

Good choice you dinkus.

Keep em coming! Many more from here in California should step to the plate for the benefit of the party.

Stay the course...   May 16th, 2008 12:28 pm ET

The hateful comments from both sides should just be ignored. This has been a hard fought campaign, and though the fat lady hasn't sung, she's warming up. If you don't want to vote for Obama if he wins, don't. But don't snivel when MCain doesn't do anything other than give vanilla speeches that steal the Democratic Party's ideals, all while doing nothing for spiking fuel, healthcare, and living costs. Don't whine when the draft is re-started (McCain has said he'll do this as soon as he gets into office) and your sons and daughters go to war, over and over again (the average miltary member serves 3 tours in Iraq or Afghanistan). Don't whine as nothing changes.

At least Barack is going to give change a shot. He has a very well-run campaign that has beaten back the Clinton Machine. Here is a guy who is "inexperienced in politics" and yet beat some of the most experienced political tigers (the Clintons) at their own game. Do you know what that means to me? He knows how to find good people, put them in the right jobs where they'll be most effective, and get them to work, all with a budget that's in the black. That's what a good president does. My vote was for Hillary. It is now for Barack. But if Hillary winds up the nominee through some magic. I will vote for her. Democratic Party O8!!!!

Lauren-CO   May 16th, 2008 12:28 pm ET

Obama has inspired me more than any political figure has before. I am 20 years old and never cared about politics until Obama came into the picture. He has inspired millions of people to come out and vote and care about our country– and he will be an amazing president.
Now the Democrats need to unite and come together so we don't have another Bush in office. And for you Hillary supporters that are saying "MCCAIN OVER OBAMA"– if you truly supported the Democratic party you would realize that McCain is exactly opposite of what Clinton stands for. She has even said it her self– it would be a terrible mistake to do that.. so open your eyes and come together.

Obama 08 & 12

dmw   May 16th, 2008 12:28 pm ET

I look forward to the Demcrats in November with their heads hanging low because Obama loses the Presidency. Then all of these disloyal Clinton back stabbers will have something to think about over the next four years. The Democrats are the perfect example of insanity; they do the same thing over and over again, choose the left-wing liberal as the nominee, and then expect a different result.

They have not learned the lesson that America will not pick the liberal as a President. The Superdelegates are suppose to vote for what is best for the party and not just pick the guy who is inspirational. Being inspirational is subjective. I am not inspired by Barack Obama at all, he actually makes me want to scream that he is such a fake and has fooled people. He is just a typical politician.

So although Hillary will not get the nomination in 2008, she will in 2012 after the Democratic Party learns their lesson, once again.

Becky in In.   May 16th, 2008 12:29 pm ET

Give an idiot a little power & they will walk into walls with it!!!!!!!!!

Obamarican   May 16th, 2008 12:29 pm ET

This is exactly as it should be. I will admit BO is is not experienced, but none of the candidates have experience doing the job they are running for. None have been president before although Hilary claims to have filled the job by osmosis. Things are progressing very nicely toward OB winning the nomination, and there are hordes of bitter (yes i said it) racist people deluding themselves into thinking that it's okay to hide behind reverend wright or hide behind the bitter comment as reasons not to vote for a black man. reverend wright told the truth about HIS experience he does not speak for the nation nor for the candidate and white people haven't been that nice to him (as evidenced by the huge hulabaloo made by the media over his comments) And people DO cling to religion in times of hardship, guns, never had the desire to own one because people kill people WITH GUNS! Why is it that people can tell the truth as long as the truth doesn't offend anyone.
OBAMA for President!

it seems to me by seeing all this "white male/female" superdelegates speak so highly of Obama and so many of them are endorsing him, it makes me think why is Obama having a hard time getting the "white, blue collar, hardworking white people's vote"……the more i think about it, more i think there's a large percentage of white america who made up in their minds in 1957 they would never vote for a "barak obama"….and it trickles down to their kids and grandkids sometimes….african americans has always had no one else to vote for other than jesse jackson and they are excited for this opportunity. i dont blame them for being 95% for Obama, it's great. but blacks are only about 14% of the us population, so hello, it's the white people have carried him and put him over the top. that's amazing. i was a mike huckabee supporter and obama won me over. God bless him dearly. ONE NATION UNDER GOD, INDIVISIBLE WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL!

I like the postings because it allows myself, somewhat new to the political scene, to get to know the politicians supporting these candidates (whether Obama or Clinton). Yes, Obama delivers a message. And that's all he has done. Where are the accomplishments and accolades to back up his bluster and gravitas? Sounds like one empty suit clinging onto another empty suit.

Notice how it has taken an entire day for Obama to respond to Bush's comments about Hamas, while Hillary THREW DOWN with just a few well-worded, off-the-cuff remarks? Oh, that's right… he needed his speech writer and advisory team to craft each word. Just what we need in a leader…

Every single Democrat can vote for Obama and he still won't win. The Electoral College elects the President. He will not win in PA, OH, WV, KY, FL, TX, NV and others and so, he will not win.

I suspect we will witness a landslide victory for McCain.

I'm not concerned by Senator Clinton's supporters saying they won't vote for Obama. I've seen way too many polls that show both Senator Clinton and Senator Obama beating Senator McCain. I believe either one of them will win in November. I think recent elections have shown there is a huge backlash against the Republicans, and it will carry over into November.

That aside, I do believe Democrats should unite. This bickering is pointless. It has gotten childish (actually, it got that way a long time ago), and supporters of BOTH sides are too blame.

Hillary is a party loyalist so she will ask her supporters to unite behind the Democratic nominee. As a Hillary supporter, I do not believe it will be that easy. Hillary supporters have attacked Obama on the issues, whereas Obama supporters consistently make vicious personal attacks against Hillary and Bill. Obama is winning, but his supporters are still so ungracious and disrespectful. The Democratic party does not deserve to win. They have let the media and haters "select" the Democratic voters. For the first time, experience and qualifications will have nothing to do with the candidate that will represent the Democratic party in the general election. Hillary has fought for civil rights, women rights, children rights, health care and the democratic party for over 30 years. If offered, I hope she does not accept the VP position because if Obama loses, she will be blamed. At this point, I really do not care if McCain wins the Presidency.

Being a foreigner, not even living in the US, I am somewhat concerned about the lack of correct information.
Obama just mentioned "the 60th anniversary of the 'independence' of Israel."
Well, it is not "independence" but "creation of the State of Israel." It was created in 1948. Israel did not exist as a state previously; therefore, it could not become independent. In fact, it has always been independent.

BJ   May 16th, 2008 12:42 pm ET

This is the reason why the Democratic party cannot win the presidency back! They have the 2 best candidates… what do they do?

The pit them against each other till they X each other out! They should have backed Hillary and groomed Obama to take over after. By that time, there will be no questions about his experience and credentials.

McCain is a moderate Republican, so it's not much of a move for some of us. He should consider Meg Whitman (founder, former CEO of EBay) as his running mate. SHE can fix the economy, and he can focus on foreign policy.

Hey Fred! So you would rather vote for McBush if Clinton does not get the nod? You and others like you on both Clinton and Obamas side saying that is so dumb and porbably a bit hateful in some cases. Wake your behind up Fred!

To the supporters in here that say Obama didn't inspire them to vote, pay attention to the world, etc. are lying. By you simply taking the time to make comments on this website proves he inspired or made you pay attention in some way.

Jesse - San Antonio TX   May 16th, 2008 12:44 pm ET

If you want inspiration.

What kind of change will you get from an un-experience politician who will have to create a cabinet of experienced washington political insiders like, Kennedy and Kerry.

It would not be any different that Dubya and his cabinet.

Fortunately we won;t get that far. McCain will win in a landslide. The far left liberals just set off an issue in california that will bring out the Evangil vote.

Looks Like the old man is the next president.

Hello everyone.
I'm a Hillary supporter but i'm a DEMOCRAT. i can't bear anymore Bush-Mccain politics..Clinton & obama are both democrats, and they cannot be compared with republicans..i want to see no-bush/mccain..so it's ok if its even Obama..
Dems UNITE

Jeff   May 16th, 2008 12:45 pm ET

This is great and brings us closer to the end. I have to admit that Hillary's out of hand rejection of Bush's appeasement comments yesterday was inspiring and shows that she can be of great use during the general election campaigning for Barack and the democrats. I think she is coming to grips with reality and could possibly be gracious about this after all.

dmw: you are nut case.   May 16th, 2008 12:45 pm ET

Hillary is every bit if not more liberal than Obama. Try educating yourself a little bit. You show nothing but ignorance.

Independent   May 16th, 2008 12:45 pm ET

Thank you Rep. Stark. We are delighted to have you on board. I just saw Obama in S. Dakota, and he hit Bush and McCain with every FAILURE in foreign policy. It was great. Bring it on McCain! Obama 08!

Chris C from Florida   May 16th, 2008 12:45 pm ET

Welcome aboard Mr Stark!

Wow im still amazed idiots posting they'd vote for mccain if hillary looses… i wonder if thats the same republicans that go to the race to vote for hilary to keep the race running…

people missed the part where theirs 250k or so registered dems in WV.. but over 300k voted for the primary…

also you notice… everyone on CNN comments claims to be a democrat except for the few "democrats for mccain"

such bullcrap

The Truth   May 16th, 2008 12:45 pm ET

Stark is an idiot. Go Hillary. Don't forget it is 2210 delegates. I think McCain ought to start calling Florida and Michigan and stating the Democrats don't like you but I love you. Vote Hillary or McCain.

raf   May 16th, 2008 12:45 pm ET

Voting for Mccain out of grudge is simply the only way to allow Bush having his word to say in the white house, even after everyone thinks we finally got rid of him!

Please use common sense democrats, as most of those hate posts are viciously made by neocons and Limbaugh's garbage followers.

Eli   May 16th, 2008 12:46 pm ET

LORD what happen to the will of the people in CA. I think there is a double standard on this WILL OF THE PEOPLE. I think the 17 million that has voted for HILLARY needs to stand up and say if she is not on this ticket somewhere we will vote another way. HEY maybe even get her to run independent. She would not win that way but neither would he. I feel this way because I think the party HEADS have done Hillary wrong , they have covered and softened Obamas baggage.

bho   May 16th, 2008 12:46 pm ET

Too bad, Edwards didn't listen to his smarter half. You're welcome, John McCain.

It's kinda funny Hillary has the second biggest win of her campaign and will finish the week with a big net loss in delegates.John Edwards really rained on her parade. She might win Kentucky big tuesday but his big win in Oregon will cancel that out also.Big win for her Peurto Rico,South Dakota rules it out. Then no matter who wins Montana ,He is the winner!!! Any Hillary supporter that insists on voting for McCain keep in touch with the Red Cross so you can send cards to famalies of soldiers killed after you vote.

I don't understand why some Clinton supporters say that they'd rather vote for McCain than Obama. Does that mean that their support for Clinton has nothing to do with her policies? Logically, it must mean that, which I find irrational.

Well.
I am not young - 55.
But still inspired.
It is hard to inspire me, Mom, who lost her son, who was just 25.
I am still inspired.
I am inspired for the future Young Boys, who would not die in Iraq soon, very soon.
I am inspired, that there ARE ways the country will improve.
I am inspired, that Great Country would get Great President, whos major word is not I, but WE.
I want to beincluded to this we.
I want to do my best for better future, I do believe.

And very simple: every time he got victory - it is so exciting, I am coming to my jobexcited and want and do all my best to perform it the best way possible.

I am telling myself "Yes we Can" and I can do the hardest job around my backyard. Cause - Yes, we can - this is so Human,so natural.
Very down to the Earth - Yes we can in all senses possible.
Great Nation , Yes it can to do the best one for generations to come.
Just do Your best - yes, we can !

It's a done deal, and Hillary is not going to be the VP either, We're moving into a new and younger era. The old farts have missed this country up,let's give the younger folk a chance, after they are the one risking their lives to fight the war..

Chuck, Democrats United We Stand   May 16th, 2008 12:49 pm ET

For all of you that say you will not vote, or that you will vote for McCain because your candidate did not win are only hurting yourself in the long run. To take such a stand is a cop out. Positions like that is exactly why this country is so divided. Have any of you in this group of people ever heard of a pen and paper, or word processing soft ware?
Sit down, write a letter, make you position known, outline your issues, provide background and possible solutions (its called problem solving). I have on several occasions done just that, not everything was solved to my satisfaction although some were. It is a process you have to take, its called becoming involved and active. Write your congressperson or senator or state legislature. If you do nothing then you have no ground to stand on while crying or fussing about what ever it is that bothers you. Think about it.

Judy, South Carolina   May 16th, 2008 12:50 pm ET

Why do everyone who want Hillary to win will not vote for Obama. If you can see or hear how this country is headed now, you would think twice. We may be in war before the Presidential Election. No matter who wins we as Democrats should unite together if not then roll on over to the Republican side and see what you will end up with.

Mark Cross Junction VA   May 16th, 2008 12:50 pm ET

norma - Wisconsin   May 16th, 2008 12:50 pm ET

Big Deal.

Thanks to John Edwards who says his announcement for Obama wasn't done to upset Hillary's win. Baloney - he knew exactly what he was doing and why. I use to have a lot of respect for him, but he's not fooling anyone - he knew exactly what he was doing, or he would have waited a few days to make hsi announcement. He's just another flip/flopper who's looking out for his future position in the Obama camp, should that happen.

If for nothing else, Hillary should get the nomination for her true grit, dedication and perseverence. But, she deserves it even more because she's the one who can do it best. A big grin is good for cartoons, but wears very thin after overexposure.

I would hope that if Hillary gets the nomination - she would get rid of the whole lot of those who jumped ship. They are such hypocrits/

Taxes…

Whether Democrat or a Republican you will find these
statistics enlightening and amazing.

http://www.taxfoundation.org/publications/show/151.html

…………………Taxes under……Taxes under
…………………Clinton 1999…..Bush 2008

Single making 30K - tax $8,400 tax $4,500
Single making 50K - tax $14,000 tax $12,500
Single making 75K - tax $23,250 tax $18,750
Married making 60K - tax $16,800 tax $9,000
Married making 75K - tax $21,000 tax $18,750
Married making 125K - tax $38,750 tax $31,250

Both democratic candidates will return to the higher tax rates.

It is amazing how many people that fall into the categories above
think Bush is screwing them and Bill Clinton was the greatest
President ever.

If Obama or Hillary are elected, they both say they will repeal the Bush tax cuts and a good portion of the people that fall into the categories above can't wait for it to happen.

This is like the movie The Sting with Paul Newman; you scam somebody out of some money and they don't even know what happened.

Now we're waiting for Tony Stark of Iron Man fame to endorse Obama too!

Gino   May 16th, 2008 12:54 pm ET

It is a calculative MISTAKE of all of these people who come out so open and endorse Obama. Think rationally. Clinton has the most of the democrats in her base. Obama has less (20% or more than Clinton) in his bag of the democrats. Obama has independents who make up this difference, and more. These independents make the apparent increase of Obama's current popularity and gain. Now if these very independents go away in the General Election (due to McCain's overcoming of them or due to other attractions such as Liberatian parties, etc.) Obama can/will be defeated. McCain does appeal to independents more than he appeals to the general Republicans. All he is got to to do is to talk like a Democrat. A likely independent (who really favored Obama against the negatives of Clinton) is not likely to vote for Obama knowing his inexeperience against veteral Senator and old timer McCain, and knowing less about the character of Obama or knowing more about his character in terms of Rezko, Ayers, and terrorist (whose send off he went to), and finally the Reveren Wright as well as his once liking to live in America first time proud wife. Believe me all those Superdelegates, Obama is lose-bound in General Election, no matter what. It is the independents swing states this time…..Watch It…you obama lovers..I know u are cramming the iNternets and cyberspace…

fiona   May 16th, 2008 12:54 pm ET

He doesn't inspire at all. How can someone that neglects Florida and Michigan be taken seriously. If Hillary isn't the nominee I'm voting Mccain. Democrats are losers for picking Obama

AB   May 16th, 2008 12:54 pm ET

This whole Obama thing is make believe. The superdelegates see people praising the emperor's new clothes and join in. They're willing to wear them too for political gain. If we all band together we don't need platforms or plans, we can run on hope! We might view the founding fathers as inspriational now but you can be sure most were hard at work, not just smiling, waving, and implying that their election will bring racial harmony!

Marc   May 16th, 2008 12:54 pm ET

Eli, how have they done wrong? Because of Michigan and Florida? They broke the rules and they were punished according to the rules.

The only reason you claim they broke the rules for Obama is because POOOOOOOOOOOOR HILLARY lost.

I'm not buying it. Obama is the nominee and that's it. And I feel like he should put her on the ticket so all of you knuckleheads will vote for her again instead of being like babies about it

R. Squibbs   May 16th, 2008 12:56 pm ET

To the virulent, angry Clinton supporters:

I understand that you're angry that Clinton has lost the race. I also understand that many of you think the media has been piling on her unfairly. I also get how you'd be angry with the supposed Obama supporters who, in their comments here, have been less-than-gracious in victory, to put it mildly (though I suspect a number of them are trolls).

What I don't understand is how any of you would actually vote for McCain in November, given his policies and politics, which seem diametrically opposed to Clinton's (and Obama's).

Can someone please give me a reasoned account of what it is about Obama and his policies that's so deeply offensive to you that you'd consider voting for someone whose policies are just like Bush's? All I'm hearing is "I won't vote for Obama — I'll vote for McCain!" (with a pout and a stamping foot), but no real reason WHY you'd do something so apparently counter your own politics and convictions.

Please enlighten me.

Tejano   May 16th, 2008 12:57 pm ET

I don't call taking down a dictactor that was killing and torturing his own peeople (Hussein) and taking out the Taliban in Afghanistan so that WOMEN could be educated and their female children attend school a failure in foreign policy.

McCain is not Bush, Many of us wish he were. He will win however, because he is not a Conservative Republican like Bush and only cares for the welfare of his country. He is a true Patriot. That I cannot say for Obama. Who knows where his loyalties lie and I will not take that chance.

ambrose   May 16th, 2008 12:57 pm ET

Welcome sir, this is the way. There is hope, America is about to rise again. Obama 08

John   May 16th, 2008 12:57 pm ET

This is great to have another superdelegate endorse Barack Obama! It's bringing us closer to having a nominee. I only hope we can reunite the democratic party once we have a nominee.

I believe that Barack Obama is using his own unique form of politics and is the most in-touch with the american people. Hillary Clinton has been using traditional politics throughout her campaign. It's time for a change. John McCain will not bring any change at all. Hillary Clinton will bring some change. Barack Obama will bring the most change!

lol   May 16th, 2008 12:57 pm ET

my inspiratation is to register independent for the way the dnc treated hillary throughout the primaries. they have shoved obama down our throats. UNITE AND WRITE hillary's name on the ballot if it isn't on there. the crooked dnc and pundits will not make hillary's loyalist back obama.

any hillary supporter that votes for mccain deserves for their right to vote to be stripped. you are showing you care more about your ill feelings than the issues….how can speak so highly of hillary and what she represents when her policies are on another plane than mccain. how can you vote mccain when hillary disagrees with every single issue/policy mccain has….how can you be against the war, poverty, the poor healthcare system, poor education system, bad economy and vote mccain…..THAT'S JUST DUMB!

Stevie J   May 16th, 2008 12:59 pm ET

It's sad that democrats who support Clinton will not vote Obama but McCain in the general election. That mistake will take four long years to go away. Tha's a really long time to wait for the skies to clear. America needs someone who is going to clean up it's image abroad. It used to be really cool being American anywhere in the world a few years ago, not anymore. Now entire nations look at Americans as being big bullies that will stop at nothing for oil. It's almost impossible to see it unless you have lived outside the US.

It is time to unite and formally set out a program for a Democratic government led by Senator Obama.

Senator Clinton should become the next Senate Majority Leader. If there is any hope for a Democratic program it must be acted upon in the Senate. That is where Senator Clinton would be most effective by seeing that Senator McConnell's obstructionism is negated.

Congresswoman Pelosi is a total failure and should be replaced. She has not used the 'power of the purse' to any good effect; cheerleading is insufficient action. Just as in the Senate, the House needs a courageous leader if anything is to be accomplished.

LYC   May 16th, 2008 1:01 pm ET

I've also been inspired to vote … but not for a presidential candidate. I'll just vote for whatever other issues or candidates are running (keep the Dems in Congress in the majority) and leave the Presidential choice blank (since I can't vote "none of the above").

Doug Newton   May 16th, 2008 1:02 pm ET

When Bush spoke to the Isreali's and badmouthed the Democratics I had to remember how the exact same behavior on a much smaller scale and a much smaller message was exploded by the Republicans into a feeding frenzy against the Dixie Chicks. Remember? How dare they go to a foreign country to show displeasure with an American politician. Some gall huh?

Those of you who do not want to vote for Senator Obama that is fine, but remember, when you get another four to eight of the current mess, do not say one word, especially if you do not have a job now or have one and before you know it, you are out of one.

It's always the people that complain about the problem of this country, but because of ignorance, stupidity or prejudice - take your pick think they are going to get better if its someone they like, always ends up with something worst.

Think about how many of you put Bush into office thinking you were going to get better, and guess what? YOU AS WELL AS MYSELF AND OTHERS - GOT WORST!!!!!!

SHUT UP!!! if you don't want to vote for Senator Obama, then DON'T!!!!!

Rave   May 16th, 2008 1:04 pm ET

I think CNN is a strong supporter of the Republican party. They did the same thing in 2004.. Made sure John Kerry wins the nomination and got Bush elected.
You want Obama to be the democratic nominee and loose with the old fart McCain.. but your estimations are wrong. Obama will win this election in November in a Landslide majority.
I know you will scrutinize these comments CNN, but no matter what you do… Barack Obama will be the 2008 - 16 President of United States of America and he will be remembered througout the world as one of the Best US Presidents. Our Country will flourish and regain it's old charm that we had during the Clinton era.
God bless United States of America and the Entire World.

Hillary supporters:

Still waiting to hear 'bout all that experience … qualifications … Funny thing … that … silence … there these days …

I guess that empty (pant suit) argument wasn't working either so now she's trying nice … again … Oh, that mask?! … We've not seen that one since her last medication refill …

Dylan   May 16th, 2008 1:05 pm ET

my my my… there are truly some small-minded and petty Hillary supporters left. These "if not HIllary, then McCain" and "he'll never win in November" are really lame statements, especially coming from people who consider themselves "Democrats."

Bottom line is this: If you cast a vote for John McCain or do not see the ramifications in doing so, then you are a disgrace to the Democratic Party.

Get over your hurt pride and do what's right for the country.

this country will never be ready for a black man to become president.

sherrie50   May 16th, 2008 1:06 pm ET

Obama has more electoral votes because he won the majority of the caucas states, not states with elections. If ;the caucases were like Texas, choas existed and possibly should be thrown out as it did not reflect the will of the people who voted for their selected candidate. It was a sad and pathetic caucas the night of the election.

petra   May 16th, 2008 1:06 pm ET

Grandma at 45,,,, and who are you betraying by voting for Obama,,, i hope you have made enough provision for your children and grandson for 8 years,,,of macCain,,, perhaps i can speak with MacCain to deploy one of them to Iraq,,and know what it feels like,,Grandma indeed,,,sounding so cruel,,,Good granny???

Mr Stark welcome aboard. I agree it is time to unify to party and begin defeating John Mccain/George Bush policies.

noemi in los angeles   May 16th, 2008 1:07 pm ET

Thank you, thank you Mr. Stark!!

If California could do a re-vote, Hillary would not win!

Obama 08

James   May 16th, 2008 1:07 pm ET

CA was won by Clinton. I thought Obama and supporters thought the supers should vote the will of their state. Oh, that's right this statement does not apply if they back Obama. Change, NOT!!!
There may be a whole new crowd after this is brokered. Their name will be "Clinton backers for McCain". I can already see the posters. McCain needs to thank each and everyone of you Obama supporters for the hatred you spew.

James   May 16th, 2008 1:07 pm ET

REading the blog and all the hatred for eithe canidate is crazy. Our main object should be to get Bush out and keep McCain out.People like Fred shows their true colors.Dont judge aperson by the color of thier skin.We need change in this country and it dont matter what race you are ,lets pull together to bring about that change.Unless you are rich and famous you suffer witheveryone else with this bushanomics.

Finally, the Iron Man endorsment…

James   May 16th, 2008 1:09 pm ET

So, yet another Superdelegate ignores the will of the voters of his state and cast's his vote for Obama. Wasn't it the Obama camp who said they should vote with the people?

If I were Hillary Clinton, I would leave the Democratic party and run as an Independant. Seeing as the Dems have basically thrown her and her 17 million supporters under the bus in favor of their own agenda.

This life-long Dem will be staying home in November.

No Hillary   May 16th, 2008 1:10 pm ET

Good Job Pete…. This is why I will continue voting for you…

R. I.   May 16th, 2008 1:10 pm ET

Well done Stark, and welcome.
Let's move forward to the White House.

Pamela   May 16th, 2008 1:10 pm ET

Reading some of the comments makes me wonder whether people know we're talking about electing (ostensibly) the leader of the free world and not cheering for our favorite team in college football.

No matter who's nominated and who's elected, let's at least agree to have someone who can try to unite the country and salvage our global image from the last eight years of unilateral action and saber-rattling.

Jon, Pittsburgh, PA   May 16th, 2008 1:10 pm ET

Hey Stay The Course - you are exactly the problem with Obama supporters. You actually believe that he is different. That he doesn't know how to play politics. You are in a dream world. First of all, he hired many operatives from Bill Clintons first run. Does that sound like change to you? LMAO at all of you that have been played like a fiddle.

Stephen   May 16th, 2008 1:10 pm ET

It must be painful for Senator Clinton to endure the daily endorsements of super delgates declaring for Obama. But that is the process.

Matt   May 16th, 2008 1:10 pm ET

All you who say you will vote for McCain if Hillary does not get the nod. Wake up! You would be voting against your own personal interests!!

Jenni   May 16th, 2008 1:11 pm ET

Don't know where this inspiration is with Obama? And is't this about solving our problems in the whitehouse not inspiring people? Obama is not qualified for this job.
