I don't understand, if the remark that was made by the Obama camp on Mccain ducking a gun, Obama would be toast by now. Howerver The Huckster is going on MSMBC shooting for the VP spot, no pun intended. This guy is a joke, and yes fox would be running this over, and over and over again, but that just goes to show you how mess up this world is. Huckabee thinks he is wise. He knows McCain is very old. For a man who couldn't get much vote in the primaries, being a vepee to McCain is a cheap and short-cut to becoming president. Attacking Barack Obama in a way that is lacking in good judgment and consideration for the history of this nation is his own way of making McCain happy with him. What a shame to see very stupid grown-ups aspiring to be our president and ready to do anything to be one.

Talking about his recent joke, he may have done it thinking it is at the expense of Obama. He is wrong! Good enough he claims to be a christian. Good enough the whole world have heard his joke. He unwittingly has placed himself in a position to pray for the safety of Barack Obama. I advise him to do that job well. He must be praying very very well that nothing happens to Barack Obama. Now he doesn't need to be the one to pull the trigger for the whole world to hold him responsible. It is written... This like many other things they plotted against Obama has and will turn against them.

What a fool Huckabee has proven himself to be... What a shame...

I can see the 527 ad now- Cut to Huckabee in South Carolina telling people in regards to the Confederate Flag: "You don't want people from outside the state coming in and telling you what to do with your flag," Huckabee said in Myrtle Beach. "If somebody came to Arkansas and told us what to do with our flag, we'd tell 'em what to do with the pole." Then cut to Huckabee at the NRA saying: “That was Barack Obama, he just tripped off a chair, he's getting ready to speak,” said the former Arkansas governor, to audience laughter. “Somebody aimed a gun at him and he dove for the floor.” Considering what happened to Geraldine Ferraro after her comments (and she's a Democrat with a great record in helping minorities), I can only imagine what Obama's people would do with this one.

Huckabee is the wrong veep for McCain. He needs to stick with the "not a GW Bush Republican" position to win. Personally, I think Zell Miller would be an interesting choice for Veep. If not, McCain needs to pick someone who cements his position as the President for everyone, not just one party. That is what has brought him this far.

McCain is an honorable man, and will stand up proudly for America. While Huckabee seems to be an ok guy, he is too extreme for most people I know, and would take away more than he would add.

When I sit here and read comments like the ones Huckabee made as a "joke", I have to wonder what is so great about belonging to a religion. I've never listened to a more judgemental group of people. It confirms my decision to stay home and not belong to a church.
This is the reason for the need for separation of church and politics. Obviously this man doesn't practice what he preached and he seriously needs to sit down and read the bible so that he truly understands what it's about.
Oh well, you've confirmed my reasons for never voting Repubican – ever. Go ahead McCain, make him VP, he can't do anymore harm to the Replican party than has already been done by Bush and Co.

Huckabee may have been one of the smartests of all of the men running for the nomination. He certainly had the most complete, thoughtful, wideranging, and fresh look at the issues. He recognized energy, and the economy as national security issues, whereas everyone else had tunnel vision. I sincerely hope Huckabee will have made an impression on McCain in that respect.

I see there are a number of people name-calling on this board, with nothing backing it up. I think if they were more familiar with Huckabee, not to mention McCain, they would not have made such sophomoric remarks. Certainly, Huckabee wanted to be president for everyone. Having grown up in a house with a minister as a father and a mother who was holier-than-thou, as I became an adult I looked upon most ministers as the lowest forms of hypocrisy. I will never trust them. However, I wanted Hucklebee to win the nomination because I DID believe in his principles. Again, I have been proven wrong. After that racist and lowest form of a remark he made regarding Sen. Obama. I can't stand the sight of him anymore. Another low-life parading around as a minister. Why no outrage about this? While I am against guns period and would NEVER allow one in my house, I hope I live long enough to see Hucklebee have to regret that comment (not in he form of violence). He thinks he can just say I made a stupid remark and laugh it off. He is sadly mistaken. There are certain things that will never be funny. I hope the families who have lost their loved ones and had them taken away too early NEVER let him forget what he said.
