I think the fact that both senators from West Virginia are endorsing Obama, a state which Clinton won, shows his strength as the likely nominee for the Democrats in the General Election. I think this is a very good endorsement for Obama.

It's quite clear that our Democratic leaders have slowly trickled in superdelegates to make Obama the Nominee...There are many people like myself that are outraged with this contriving manipulation. You will be partly responsible for the "Historical Division" of the Democratic Party. There are a large percentage of people forming a new Independent ticket, which will include disgruntled Democrats and Republicans if Obama is the nominee.

No Prospective President should be a member or financial supporter of a radical, racist, hate preaching Church that is Anti-America. Additionally, and evern more troubling, friends with a former Terrorist.

This is fabulous news! Thank you Senator Byrd!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'n my little lay person's opinion, this is a really big deal. Byrd is the most tenured senator in history! I think that second in line is Senator Ted Kennedy who we should all continue to keep in our prayers as his health improves.

It would be really great if the SD flood could start now so that Hillary is best able to exit graciously. All we are waiting on is for someone to meet the appropriate delegate count now. It's just a matter of time.

I can understand endorsement of Byrd for Obama, it is WHITE GUILT( he used to be a member of KKK). But endorsement doesn't mean anything until it becomes a vote, and that takes place at the CONVENTION in Denver month of August. Pledged delegates will cast their votes first during the convention, then superdelegates will cast their votes.

Endorsement is nice, but they can also change it once they cast their vote which is the one that COUNTS at the convention for choosing a nominee to represent the democratic party. That is one advantage of superdelegates, they CAN change their endorsement by their VOTE up to the last second at the convention when they press the button. Endorsement is a GOOD MORALE BOOSTER, but that's about it.

Exactly what is the purpose of a super-delegate? The DNC should really do away with super-delegates, caucuses and delegates and go strictly with popular vote. These primaries have showed exactly how flawed the process is. Winning in caucus (mostly Red states) does not mean you will carry these states in the Fall. The Red states will be Red again in November and will not vote for the Democratic candidate.
