Just a few minutes ago they said Hillary should speak against the few people saying race played a big part in their decision to vote against Obama in Kentucky yet CNN makes it very clear that 90% of African Americans vote for Obama. That is the labeling from the media to maintain that race is a factor.

It is sad to read some of these comments that have been left in regards to KY. "AMERICA" needs to wake up and unite or we will CONTINUE to fall behind the rest of the world. NOT EVERYONE in KY is an uneducated redneck and for you to write such things truly shows your own ignorance.
Hillary won KY and continues to win other states, not because she is WHITE, it's because she has the MOST experience and is BEST qualified for the job!
Would you hire someone to be a brain surgeon with a degree in criminal justice?
GO HILLARY!

I am not surprised that 1 out of 5 voters for Clinton in KY said that race was a factor. I am a resident of KY and feared that Obama would have a difficult time with the rural vote in this state due to race. There are still many redneck racists in this state and it makes me ashamed that this would be a factor in their decision for President.

Oh, so anyone who doesn't vote for Obama is a racist, ignorant, illiterate redneck?
OK, I'll grant that some of those white people in WV and KY, as well as some in EVERY other state, are racist. Some members of every other race, in every state, are also racist.
Does it occur to any of you that the majority of those folks are probably just hard working, patriotic, core Americans of the type who built this country and who will always reject Marxism, no matter the color of the package?

I think that it is very important that the Democratic party starts reuniting. They need to plan big to beat McCain. Otherwise our country will continue to suffer as we have since in the past eight years. People please step back and take a moment to look at how people are loosing jobs, homes, gas prices going up, the cost of food going up, the cost to send your children to college is going up. These things are very important. What I personally would love to see is US make history by having either the first African American President or the first female President. If Obama is elected I definitley think Hillary should be his runnin partenr as VP. They both have great minds. If you support the Democratic party and you want change in our country lets support Barack & Hillary. Lets take the Democratic part all the way to the White House. Your vote counts.

When will the DNC ever learned their lessons?
The American electorate will deal Obama the same
fate as John Kerry and Al Gore comes this November.

I am a proud Kentuckian tonight. Kentucky voted for Bill Clinton twice for President and continued the winning tradition tonight.
It has been a VERY VERY long time since a Democrat became president without winning Kentucky.
My opinion is that tradition will continue this year.

The Obama supporters better realize delegates do not vote in November. People do.
Obama continues too lose the voters who earn less than $60,000 a year. That is sad.
Clinton continues to win such supporters. And she will in November too.
Congratulations Kentucky. We love you!

All of the uneduacated simple white Democrats that you, Howard Dean took for granted, will be voting for John McCain for President.

So chalk up another loss for Deans Dozen. I would rather die than vote for Obama. All of my Democrat friends say the same. In reality I am glad, because Dean you turned your back on us, shoved Obama down our throats, now we're throwing up.

Seems like you old school Dems, Dean, Kennedy, Dodd, Kerry really pissed us off this time. You turned your back on the Democrat's most viable candidate, Hillary. Now we are going to return the favor. I am going to turn my back on YOUR CHOICE Howard Dean, and will be voting Republican for the first time in my life.

At least I know McCain is a patriot, has pride, and shows and has shown his loyalty to his country. Therefore I will vote for McCain with a smile on my face.

I hope he does not do this. Anyone but Hillary. I do not think it would work, she is the insider the old Washington, he represents the New Washington. Please--------NO.

It should be rerun and Hillary will win.
It is for sure if Obama is the nominee, he will lose the general election, since the more people know him, the less people vote for him. You can see from the recent primaries.

how conniving of her ...........

anyways .. UNITED WE STAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Uh ..... NO SHE CAN'T ... That's why it's important that she conduct an honorable campaign

Neither camp can afford to loose the other constiuency.

Let's be real here ... she won because the bulk of these voters are farily closed minded and wanted an excuse not to vote for him ...

Hillary's race baiting and false claim that he can't win the vote of "hard working white people" --- which many Kentuckians consider themselves to be -- is how she won.

Exit polls indicate that these voters also latched on to Rev. Wright as their justification for not voting for Obama. Its very interesting white voters in NC and Oregon ... regions with much better economies ... didn't mention Wright at all but these foks did. Wright hasn't been in the news for some time now.

I thought folks in Appalacian valued hard work and honesty. How hard did the Clintons work to earn $109M and how honest has Hillary been throughout this campaign ...sniper fire was a lie .... negotiating peace in Ireland was a lie...

She is so flawed ....

Hillary- over 300 electoral college votes in states won thus far
Obama- 217 electoral college votes in states won thus far

Hillary- more popular votes
Obama- did not win swing states

Bottom Line- Dems shoot ourselves in the foot yet again and McCain gets the nomination in November. Then again, I'm a white blue collar worker from NC so I guess my vote doesn't count for Obama anyway. I must be a racist, right? Or is that what the Obama supporters choose to call me.

Casey Obama wrote:

"As a mother, I want my son to see that he can be more than the media portrays African-American young males to be."

It's good that you want the best for your son, but the media have been more than kind to blacks.

Everywhere I look -- TV, movies, commercials, print media -- I see no shortage of positive portrayals of blacks. Doctors, lawyers, heroes, presidents, they're all there.

They're shown in a generally better light than white males, that's for sure.

1. i am in KY. 2. have course work finished in phd in ed adm. (probably not THE only person in state with some education) 3. i volunteered to work for the obama campaign. a long time ago. 4. KY has NEVER seen anything like this campaign! which is good... 5. clintons were here LOTS. many people here have never seen a real life person running for national office and like the attention. (stereotype, yes; my impression) 6. obama had offices in nineteen (19) towns. mostly towns not cities! remember this has never happened before. ever! 7. i met the nicest volunteers who came in from other states. new to KY to have volunteers coming in. 8. getting out the vote is new territory. not used to numerous phone calls. having someone care that they vote and figuring out it can make a difference. 9. me disappointed with result? you bet! got a call about 3 pm to take someone to vote (10 mi away). went to get her, she had already gotten a ride to polls. talked to her neighbor and took her and first person's aunt to vote! THAT is what this election in KY was about. 10. & YES, WE CAN!

Of course she would run the board. Read the article too many white voters race still matters. They let you know from jump street that a black man chances are almost impossible. Hillary picks the racist towns to say only she can win. I disagree with her, any white woman would win against any black person in her choice of places.

This race will not go quietly into the night. Hillary and her supporters will not go quietly. And we will not be told how to think and vote in this election! The media has all but hoisted Obama onto a pedestal and claimed him to be God. To all the misinformed Obama voters out there tonight, Clinton supporters are not all uneducated and racist. Some people see this a bit more logically as to who is fit to run the country. Obama has little experience and age on his side. He has questionable ties to religious extremists. And Rev. Wright said it all and Obama stood by and did virtually nothing for weeks. One minute he is a friend and pastor and then he throws Rev. Wright under the bus. So which is it Mr Obama? Seems to me his own followers are the uneducated people!

Obama can win Kentucky in the fall. He has to get the ground game working and make himself known to our rural voters in a personal way. Kentucky has plenty of rednecks but I think it's unfair and untrue to frame every rural voter in this way.

Rural and racist are two very different things. Come the the fall if Obama puts in the effort in the outlying areas then Louisville and Lexington will play the role of anchor and help to put the Commonwealth in the democratic column.

Can someone please tell me when it happened that having more than a High School education makes you an elitist? Do people claiming that about us people who went past High School actually know what elitist is?

Having an education has nothing to do with being elitist. I didn't gain any particulary social or financial status because I received an education. Unless of course elitist is having a four year education that takes 20 years to pay off.

How sad that we have lowered the bar so much, that calling someone who decided to educate themselve, elitist.

And for the record, I'm currently unemployed. Our household income is currently lower than $22k a year. We no longer own a car, can't afford the gas anyway. Don't have healthcare coverage, oh we don't drink lattes either.

Poor, broke, white grandmother one 1 year ole for Obama.

There are less than 20% Black America....Even if they all vote for Obama, that's not enough to win.
Hillary can win without them...Look at where the Dems need to win...all the swing states will go for her, but if it's Obama-McCain...Obama won't get more than 1 or 2....There goes the election and another 4 Republican years...UGH...How stupid can the Dems be to put him on the ticket.

Hillary won by more than 200,000 votes tonight,in terms of overall popular vote tally, they must be fairly close now, even without michiagn and florida...

If you include michigan and florida,I wonder if hillary is ahead in popular vote? must be really close if you include them, maybe even hillary ahead?

Ummmm.... wrote:

"...Obama wouldn't have gotten this far with just the "blacks"... "

Agreed. But he wouldn't have gotten anywhere without them. Or his black ancestry.

Only 36% of the white Democrat vote in his landslide NC win? What does that tell you about his demographics?

Clearly, the Demo party establishment is hell bent on seating BO, so that's almost certainly how it'll end up.

Most uneducated hillbillies in Kentucky are probably still waving the confederate flag, therefore, Obama should not pledge to your flag, but to the flag of the United States. As for the Bible, during this entire primary, he has been the only candidate that has been identified as a Christian that has attended church for the last twenty years. What church does Hillary attend? Don't know do you?

reading these comments has left me nauseaus. the obama supporters are so incredibly arrogant , elitist, and hateful. you call anyone who doesn't support YOUR candidate uneducated, ignorant, or racist. you claim that sen. clinton has played a race card, but the most racist comment i have heard in the whole primary season came from obama when he referred to his grandmother as a typical white woman. as a dem i might have backed obama as the nominee in nov. but after all this hateful and asinine name calling by the sen. and his supporters i wont vote for obama, no matter how much money he throws around.

I was very disturbed by something I heard in Clinton's victory speech in Kentucky. I know this is only part of what she said,
"......we will rebuild the economy and the war in Iraq ......."

She said this twice. It seemed like there should have been another qualifier before the "war in Iraq", not run together as a compound sentence.

Another "misspoken" comment?
