(CNN) — The Democrats' long fight for the nomination does not seem to be a major concern for voters in Oregon. CNN's Oregon voter poll shows 62 percent say they'll be satisfied if the campaign continues. Only 28 percent say the campaign should end as soon a possible.

When Gore and Kerry ran, the Democrats never experienced this big rift in the party.

Either, racism is stiil high in this nation OR

Why is it that the Clintons always screw up whatever they touch? By the time Bill left office, this nation was equally divided– RED and BLUE

Why can't people let Obama close this big gap in this nation? This man is both BLACK and WHITE, got it!!!

GWB   May 20th, 2008 6:33 pm ET

Yawn. Bring on football season already! Obama is getting the nomination. Move on crybabies!

ONLY OBAMA WANTS IT TO END !

LIKE HIS SUPPORTERS DID NOT WANT A RE-VOTE IN FLORIDA AND MICHIGAN.

OBAMA LEGAL TEAM FOUGHT A RE-VOTE.

OBAMA WANTS TO BE JIMMY CARTER PART II

NORA, FLORIDA   May 20th, 2008 6:34 pm ET

The polls must be polling REPs who are trying to to pose as DEMS. Get real.

Keith from WI   May 20th, 2008 6:34 pm ET

Billary is not staying in the race for the votes now…she only interested in raising enough money so her loan can be paid back…(with interest). She has never cared about the voters or the issues…its always just been the power, the attention, the money and herself. Finally people have finally have seen her and her husband for what they truly are….WE are tired of all of this and we are NOT going to take it anymore…. May they just sneek away and leave us alone …hopefully Ark. will take them back…lol
Just in case she thinks that most people still like her…(57% do not trust her and do not like her)
Everyone keep record of everything she says and does in her remaining years in the Senate so if she tries the Sniper Fire again……this will end much sooner….we can blame the media since her suspicious Senate election in 2000 for constantly putting her name in the news. She never earned that nor did she ever deserve it……Bet the media now knows they created a monster that was merely someone that was married to a president….thats all!
The Clintons remind me of two lowlife con artists tricking the old and uneducated out of their possessions making them think its the right thing to do…

Isn't there a big difference between "wanting something to continue" and "being satisfied if it does?"

God forbid we let people vote…

Then everyone should just let it continue rather than frequently pushing Hillary to get out. She has every right to stay in and a majority of people understand that. The reason Oregon and a large amount of other states even get a say in this primary is because she has decided to stay in — and people rightfully respect that (even if they don't vote for her). Every vote counts.

Rave   May 20th, 2008 6:36 pm ET

I would like the race to continue, so Obama gets 2500 delegates with Clinton around 1900. Then she will wake up and say, Go Obama Go

OBAMA 4 President   May 20th, 2008 6:36 pm ET

Josh   May 20th, 2008 6:38 pm ET

I think as long as Barack is the frontrunner and Clinton is still in the race that the majority of Democrats will want this race to continue…because we SMART Democrats want CLINTON to be the nominee, not Nobama!

It's the American way. Let the people vote!! Shut down the Obama machine instead of the people's vote.

May the best person win, Hillary Clinton or John McCain in 08.

Greg   May 20th, 2008 6:40 pm ET

Of course these people are happy to see it go on. This is the first time that most of these people have been able to vote in a primary and have their vote counted, even if it means very little at this point.

CNN: Home of the worthless exit polls.

Margot, MI   May 20th, 2008 6:43 pm ET

Yes, because it's over in two weeks. We don't want the Democratic race to continue after that, but apparently Hillary is the only one who disagrees. Why? She’s selfish–and she’s not accustomed to thinking about anybody but herself. It’s all about Hillary, not the DNC, not America, just Hillary. Hillary, Hillary, Hillary, twenty-four seven, all Hillary, all day long, all of the time.

I’m done, and after two weeks, I hope she will be too. Let' Bill deal with her 24/7, America is fed up. If he hadn't had the affair, he could have promised her a trip around the world or something, not the presidency.

Griff   May 20th, 2008 6:44 pm ET

Hillary is not tied to the 'Apron String's', of the Democrat's… Just like John McCain. Is, his own Man. So is Hillary, her own person…
She is a Politician….. Country first…. Not a Label. Called Democrat's… (Just a Label)… Hillary's Label is "Democracy". 'The Name' belongs to no, One Party…. Imagine??? The American Party!! Who can claim that…???? Hillary.. Go Indipendent. You never know, there are lot's of voter's undecided….

Eleanor   May 20th, 2008 6:47 pm ET

Its almost *pathetic* the way the Clinton campaign wants to change the rules in the middle of the game so it benefits them
If the people of Florida and michigan want to blame someone for being left out look at your *govenors Krist etc*
for breaking the democratic rules and moving the primaries up
Hillary was all for this when it first started out But she never once thought she would come up against someone like Barack Obama

Believe me if the tables were turned Clinton would fight vigorously
to prevent this from happening
I dont have a dog in ths race but I will tell you this
I am starting to think Hillary is bi polar
one week she acts normal and the next she comes out every day with some insane personal view like Carl rove thinks she would be the next candidate or the media is being sexist
This woman needs medical help
I hope they realize how much they are dividing the party while MCBush sits back and laughs at the stupidity

Debbie   May 20th, 2008 6:49 pm ET

Please remind Donna Brazile that she is on camera behind people when they are speaking. When Wolf was speaking to Wolfson, it is apparent that the DNC has already their decision. Her laughing and head shaking spoke volumes. I am extremely disappointed that she has joined those who believe that Sen. Clinton's continued campaign is somehow a joke. If the DNC wants a coronation, then suspend the process or at best have everyone vote on one day. Why bother to act like the votes matter at all? Regardless of what transpires in this race, I am extremely disappointed by the lack of respect readily apparent in blogs, media and pundits for individuals. Discuss and debate the issues but the snide looks and laughing at the expense of anyone is unacceptable.

I'm sorry, but that makes no sense at all. Maybe people just like drama but that is ridiculous. We need to come together and start fighting McCain not fighting with each other. This race is already over but the only one who doesn't think so is Hillary.

End the race and lets start it up with McCain!

Len   May 20th, 2008 6:56 pm ET

That's the whole point of having this process. It is not to be ended as quickly as possible, thus preventing large populations to not have an opportunity to vote. Governemnt offices are meant to be chosen by the people, not the pundants. This is a good thing for either party.

Trustee   May 20th, 2008 6:56 pm ET

Of course HillaryBilly States would like the race to continue and so would many female Clinton supporters. How long? Until Clinton wins. If Obama was losing, his supporters would be the same way.

Unlike Republicans, we have more than one candidate millions would vote for. So what do you do in a race so tight, how do you end it, just follow the rules. The most delegates wins. That's the only way to end it. Some IS going to lose.

Unfortunately for women, the first female POTUS candidate is so selfish, she cares nothing about the Party or the women's cause. She cares only about the Clinton's regaining power. She will linger on and do as much damage as possible in hopes of coming back in 2012. But in the Democratic Party, you get 1 and only 1 bite at the apple.

PF Harlock   May 20th, 2008 6:58 pm ET

One thing those numbers tell me is that approximately 30% of Barack Obama's supporters in Oregon aren't following the race closely enough to be aware of the damaging things Hillary Clinton has done. That's good.

Carolina Girl   May 20th, 2008 6:58 pm ET

Definitely, the campaign HAS TO continue. We have to hear how
both Florida and Michigan voted. — their EXACT totals. We can't elect a President without the input from ALL 50 states. This is the UNITED
states! That means ALL of us. 100%. Nothing less.

If Florida and Michigan's votes are ignored, as they are being now,
or if they are fractionalized in any way, or divided up 'randomly" — with the pre-set goal of letting Obama win the election — then FLA and MI should SECEDE from the nation.

We can't be the "united" states with less than our 50 states.

Georgia   May 20th, 2008 6:59 pm ET

DNC and superdelegates take heed

David in Florida   May 20th, 2008 7:00 pm ET

Join us Clinton supporters in voting for John McCain in the fall. The democratic party has turned its back on Hillary Clinton and her supporters. I feel so sorry for what Clinton had to experience in her primary campaign. A lot of my democratic friends will be voting for John McCain. Obamabots just need to realize that their stupid attacks against Clinton and her supporters will not make a Clinton supporter want to vote for Obama in the fall. We welcome all Clinton supporters. :-)

Run the race so she can't make excuses   May 20th, 2008 7:02 pm ET

If the race is stopped before the end, she will say she was forced out. Let the race run out, so there is no question that she lost fair and square.

Andrew in Indiana   May 20th, 2008 7:02 pm ET

I disagree. We are really wittling away our time to consolidate and solidify our party. I think in Oregon, their vote may seem more unified than many other states. It is clear listening to Mr. Wolfson, that is still a division in our party. Sen. Fararro (sp?) said yesterday publicly that she would not vote for Sen. Obama and that Sen. Obama is sexist. Today the sex/gender card was played. I just do not understand how these actions are going to consolidate our party. If Sen. Clinton wins, the Obama campaign is expected to fully support and convince their voters and delegates (regular and super) to support the nominee. This is not the reciprocal feel the Clinton campaign is giving off. Women are being further divided and negative messages are being sent out by Democratic leaders. I admit there is sexism, yet there is also racism in our society. I know that being a woman has its issues politically, but equally so, racism is also just as prevalent. I feel that some of Sen. Clinton's "sexism" comes from being a fighter. What is a fighter? A person who holds out and withstands attack, a determined person. I do not see a fighter. I do see whining. It is easy to cry racism/sexism or what ever you want to, but a fighter withstands and shows determination. A fighter also knows when the battle is over. Tactically retreating to fight another day.

You can't be black enough
You can't be white enough
You can't be half black / half white
You can't run a positive campaign and be rewarded for it
You can't tell the truth and be rewarded for it
You can't have the majority of the voters vote for you and be rewarded
You can't be half white / half black do what’s right play by the rules and be rewarded

Why America? Why?

Interesting fact, 53% of Hillary supporters in Kentucky say that they believe that Barack will be the demarcate nominee. So if they know this then why in hell are they throwing their support behind someone who they know will lose in the end?

ArmChairAdvisor   May 20th, 2008 7:04 pm ET

Fine. Let the race continue but Hillary should go on record as being solely responsible to repay all her campaign debts incurred from this point on. The race is over and she knows it. Why should Obama pay for the needless Clinton attacks against him?

Even Oregon voter poll shows 62 percent say they'll be satisfied if the campaign continues!
Let it continue! and let Hillary win the nomination and the presidency!

Obama and his people want to end it soon because they want to hide their real selfish motive, that is, to cheat and force their win undemocratically (let Florida and Michigan, and other states be heard!) and unfairly (Obama outspent Hillary by 3 to 1 when the poor supports Hillary but cannot make a contribution to her).
This shows that they are in fact very afraid of losing to Hillary.

"If somebody tells you you ought to quit, it’s because they’re afraid you won’t, and there’s no quit in her … and I’ll tell you something else,
if somebody tells you you can’t win, it’s because you know you can.”(Bill)

Dear Jack Cafferty,
Can you look at this poll before you say that Hillary is a dinner guest that doesn't know it's time to leave! I am one of the nearly 17 million people who proudly cast their vote for Hillary and was deeply, deeply, offended by that comment. Senator Obama will probably be the nominee for the democratic party when the votes are all count, however, when the general election takes place the same old racist views will follow and the age factor.

As for this Illinois voter, I will be voting for John McCain for President and not changing my vote or thinking twice who is the most qualified…..

Beverly, NYC   May 20th, 2008 7:11 pm ET

Please this primary has gone on tooooo long. Like Hillary Clinton I am wishing for rule changes as far as this primary process is concerned. Can we have 6 months of state visits and one Super Tuesday where all the states vote for the nominees then on to the final in November. It would safe a lot of time, money, nail biting & rancor seen this season. Oregonians are happy because this time their vote will actually matter to the nominee, in past elections the nominee was known long before this.

Montana Deb   May 20th, 2008 7:14 pm ET

I will vote for Hillary, and I want to have the chance to have my vote count in June…after that, I want all the states to have their votes counted. In my mind, Hillary is the most qualified candidate. I want the person to do the job…at person is someone I can respect. There will be no 'coming around' to any other Democratic candidate. Also, for every 'sniper fire' , there is an opportunity to remember there are only 50 states…not 60.

Shirley-Ohio   May 20th, 2008 7:18 pm ET

stan Pollock, Renton, Washington   May 20th, 2008 7:31 pm ET

Voters who claim that they would vote for McCain if their candidate in the Democratic Party did not win must be brain dead. Over 70% of voters say the country is headed in the wrong direction, and President Bush's approval rating is lower than any president in our history. Both Bush and McCain support the war, free trade. permanent tax cuts for the rich, jobs shipped to China and India, wages being lowered because of illegal immigration, etc., etc.,etc.. Let me see if I understand these people. You will subject this country to another four to eight years of the Bush policy because your candidate didn't win the primary? The problem is not because of President Bush, but is because of the brain dead citizens who voted him into office. How bad does this economy or the money being spent and stolen in this obscene war have to get before people start using their brain again?

Terrence (Winston Salem,NC)   May 20th, 2008 7:38 pm ET

QUESTION: Do you think that after Clinton's actions this primary season (if by some chance Obama loses in the fall) she will get the nomination in 2012? Not, many of Obama's voters are young voters. They are not likely to forget her behavior this year.

More than this, what do you think she's done for women who run in the future? They will have to prove they are "not like Clinton" to get votes.

Jeanne   May 20th, 2008 7:41 pm ET

I'd like to see the race end quickly after the last primary election. At that point, Clinton and her supporters should fall quickly in behind the likely nominee and unite the party. Otherwise, McCain will likely be president for the next 4 years and the country will continue with the same failed policies of the Bush administration.

Indiana Joe   May 20th, 2008 7:42 pm ET

In the end, HILLARY will win the Democrat Party nomination. Obama will go to the convention without sufficient pledged delegates to win on the first ballot. Once Michigan and Florida are counted, he will not have enough Superdelegates to win the necessary 2229 votes for the nomination. By that time, the Convention will be thrown open. Hillary will emerge because she had the largest, electoral rich states voting for her. She had all the important groups - with the exception of the Black population - to win the general election. Obama won states with only 219 electoral votes. That's not enough to win the Presidency. Hillary has won states that total 300 electoral votes. Superdelegates cannot be that dumb. They will go with Hillary because she can beat McCain and the Democrat Party will then win Congress too in 2008. Obama is history. Good try, come back and run again when you're grown up.

Terrence (Winston Salem,NC)   May 20th, 2008 7:45 pm ET

This race should have been OVER after Super Tuesday and Obama's 11-streak win. Clinton can try, but she will never catch up—unless she continues to bend the rules.

Clinton claims to be winning in popular vote by counting FL and MI in, but leaving all the votes from caucuses. That's what I call TRUE disenfranchisement! She's trying to rip the presidency from its rightful owner. Obama won, fair and square. She needs to get over it and be a part of his cabinet——because surely N.Y. does NOT want her back! At this point, I'm not sure if the Democratic party wants her back! :-)

Hillary needs this race to continue. Her campaign is so far in debt, she needs supporters to keep donating blindly so she can recoup the $10.5 million she spent from her own pocket. Her speeches sound more like telethons than campaign rallies. By the way, how did someone with "35 years of experience" run up a $20+ million debt? David in Florida - your vote doesn't even count, sucker. Simmer down ignorant fool. Let me guess, The Democratic Party has turned it's back on Clinton because they're going to nominate a black man? You may as well say it. It's crystal freakin clear. People like you are pathetic, sad and sorry.

heres a poll for you try it on cnn i spoke to 100 hillary supporters about your flagrant bias against her 4 talking against her plus the news anchor if thats what you want to call yourself and one for her. these were all people who got 90 percent of their news from cnn, 50 men 50 women. the question was who does the news favor at cnn . do they intentionally favor one over the other and by what percentage. 100 percent said you favor obama 90 to 10 oercent of the time..of thes all now get the majority of their news from fox or abc by 80 to 20 for cnn. i asked 100 obama supporters the same thing they said it favored obama by 55 to 45 and these supporters said it favored obama 65 to 35 percent yet these people still deceased their watching of cnn by 20 percent to get more balance. hillary is talking about cnn your biase has been extreme against her for the beginning you cnn are sexist. tell the truth obama took his name off in michigain for political motives polls showed him way behind, hillarys people were blocked out of cau\causess they had to leave to work. far far far left students swarmed then in a effort to thwart lhillarys moderate left progressive agenda to reward the people who work for a living so they can make ends meet. i know you will never ask the people who your reporting favors. i just thought we would let you know that we all know. sincerely yours a former cnn watcher, now we only turn to your cnn to see how your trying to persuade voters not to vote for hillary. shame on you producers once your money stops rolling in from advertisers you might wake up.

If Hillary supporters are foolish enough to keep giving money to a cause even Don Quixote would call hopeless, she's not going away. Her campaign is going down faster than Lindsay Lohan on a Motley Crue tour bus but people still buy (literally) into it. The flying monkeys should have brought Hillary her broom a long time ago.

One has to ask themselves why the big fuss over Hilary's large margin victories, when no one is talking about her large margin losses back in February. What I also don't understand is why everyone keeps saying Obama cannot close the deal, well the question is why can't Hilary close the deal? Obviously, it you are looking for a commander in chief and who is ready from day one the answer would be Barack, due to the way he came out of nowhere and beat this candidate who says they have 35 years of experience and is getting spanked and had no plan past Super Tuesday. and Kentucky, let's not fool ourselves thi
