Bill Clinton says Chelsea may go into politics

Bill Clinton says Chelsea may go into politics someday.
Bill Clinton says Chelsea may go into politics someday.

(CNN) - Is politics in Chelsea Clinton's future?

Bill Clinton says maybe.

In an interview with People Magazine, the former president said he thinks his daughter is a natural campaigner who may one day follow her parents into the family business.

"If you asked me [whether Chelsea would go into politics] before Iowa, I would have said, 'No way. She is too allergic to anything we do.' But she is really good at it," the former president said in the latest edition of the magazine

Clinton also said Chelsea was deeply upset by her mother's disappointing third-place finish in Iowa in January.

"It all changed after Iowa," he said. "She realized her mother lost Iowa 100 percent because of younger voters. She was upset, bawled, went to her employer and said, 'Look, you got to let me go or give me an indefinite leave of absence. I'm not letting my mother go down like this.' "

God, please don't do it Chelsea. After these two horrible role models you had you wouldn't get very far. People are tired of their antics and have lost repect for your lunatic parents. And i used to like Bill, voted for him twice. NEVER NEVER NEVER AGAIN. NO MORE CLINTONS!

My gosh is he so power hungry that he and his wife just can't fade off into the sunset and grow old together peacefully? He's been a Governor and President . She's been a Senator. They will always have a place in history (good and bad). Now he's going to start pushing his daughter to run so that he can continue to feel relevant. Enough already.

Chelsea cant handle the tough questions that were asked of her. She must learn this before she will make it. I saw her crack under pressure.

Tell her to keep her self at home or at least out of the white house. Enough with the Clintons thinking they have a right to be there. I can so see Bill trying to set this in motion. Both the Bush and Clinton Familys should be banned from running this country. There is no dynasty here. Go home and stay home already.

Chelsea, I would vote for you as long as you learn from the mistakes your mother has made. She should have had this in the bag.

On another note...it must be nice to be able to take an indefinate amount of time off from your employer to travel the US on behalf of your mom. That is something the average joe cannot do.

    Who really is elitest?

Well chelsea that is time off work wasted. Your mum still went down with you on her side. You are the only remaining hope for the Clinton dynasty in 2020

  12. Really????????

Good Grief...I would NEVER have guessed it! Hmmm is that why she wouldn't take any questions from the press...didn't want anything on record. Oh my, she was under sniper fire with her mommie too wasn't she. She will claim all that experience in the White House and "campaigning" with mommie.

Bill how stupid do you think the voters in America are? You think you are revealing a deep family secret here that none of us recognized from the get go. That is EXACTLY why America is revolting about the Clinton dynasty. America finally got rid of you with your lying, dirt political womanizing ways. We are about to run your wife out of town and hope she NEVER comes back. I'm absolutely sick of the whole Clinton clan.

At least she may be a little more middle of the road. You rant, Hillary shrieks and Chelsea just puts us all to sleep. It's about as exciting as bark on a tree to watch her speak. PS...we WILL remember that your womanizing was "NONE OF OUR BUSINESS". That is on record.

Sure Chelsea can go into politics. Afterall, she has had he experience of being in the White House for nearly 8 years as the first daughter and previously as the first daughter of Arkansas. Surely, this expereince will enable her to hit the road running so to say. Unlike others who have not had the opportunity of being first lady etc. etc.

Oh my dear god. Another Clinton to lie, cheat, steal, divide, manipulate, and condescend to the American people. Come on – she stood there and let her monther lie and lie and lie about the Bosnia trip. So Chelsea was complicit, or wasn't smart enough to remember.

Just what we don't need. New faces, new ideas. Let's get past the baggage of the Clintons.

I saw an interview with Chelsea Clinton and the first thought that came to my minda was that she would be the first Female President. let's just hope she doesn't get corrupted like her parents! I am very impressed with her. She's got it in her blood!

Everyone knows...The reason she' on the campaign was to start her life in politics.
She was ducking sniper fire with her mother, so I'm sure she's going to cliam the same BS experience her mother claimed. Being the first child makes her ready on day one.....

    So transparents.

Hillary and Bill consider politics the 'family business', not public service. I believe that considering they will do or say anything to stay in 'business'.

Just as I thought. Hillary's continued campaigning is no more than "training wheels" for Chelsea at no cost. The plan has always been about introducing Chelsea, remember she is their only heir to the Clinton dynasty. Slick move.
