Obama to deliver commencement address for Kennedy

(CNN) – Barack Obama will take Sen. Ted Kennedy's place in delivering the commencement address at Wesleyan University this Sunday.

According to Kennedy's Senate Office, Obama offered to take the Massachusetts senator's place earlier this week after Kennedy was diagnosed with brain cancer.

"Senator Kennedy accepted knowing it would be an historic opportunity for the school and all those attending, including his daughter Caroline Raclin who is graduating and his son Ted Jr. who is attending his reunion," Kennedy's office said in a statement. "He's enormously grateful to Senator Obama and the support he's received from all of his colleagues this last week.”

Obama will never be president. We are going to the convention and see that Senator Clinton is instated. She is the one we want, not this superficial jerk, self serving toady, American hater, husband of angry wife, who calls white whitey. I cant help being whilt e any more than she can help being black.

Senator Kennedy's life was all about the American people. Justice, truthfulness and equality are his trademakrs, to mention afew. The news about his illness is heartbreaking indeed. However, if we are talking about symbolism. Endorsing Obama in his pursuit to fight for the American people becomes his legacy to America....

**My prayers to the Kennedy family.

So the commencement speaker at Wesleyan University's graduation shifts from a great american in his waning years to a great american who is just emerging. This is a good year to be a graduate from this great university!

    >> YES WE CAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <<

I've seen this so many times. And with Obama's idle rhetoric that sometimes makes he's speeches last what seems like hours, just WHAT CAN WE DO??? Obama never tells us. By his actions, it looks like WHAT WE CAN DO is support the radical left wing agenda, have the government spend money at a more alarming rate then it is now, and surrender to our enemies. I guess that's the CHANGE WE CAN DEPEND ON.

Really?? You and what army. Cause that is what it will take and that army is not behind a lying, ruthless woman.

Sen. Kennedy didn't just endorse Barack Obama, he anointed him. I believe that he considers helping Sen. Obama to get elected President of the United States adds to an already great and proud legacy of the Kennedy family as a whole. I celebrate both Sen. Kennedy and Barack Obama.

Thanks a beautiful thing. I wish Senator Kennedy and his family the very best in his battle.

I can not believe all the hate coming from the Hillary camp. To comment here with such hate just shows your and your candidates character. Get over yourselves already.

Obama will be our next President and I look forward to it with that crazy little thing called hope.

SENATOR KENNEDY, GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAIMLY, BOTH PRESENT AND FUTURE. TO SENATOR OBAMA, YOU ARE TRULY A PERSON TO BE PROUD OF. THINK NOT OF ALL THE NAY SAYERS AND ALL THEIR NEGATIVE RESPONSES. THERE IS ONE MUCH GREATER THEN ANY OF US HUBLE EARTHLINGS WHO KNOWS ALL THINGS AND KNOWS WHAT IS IN OUR HEARTS LONG BEFORE THEY ARE IN OUR HEARTS. WE NEED MORE PEOPLE NOT ONLY IN THE POLITICAL ARENA BUT IN EVERYDAY WALKS OF LIFE TO DO WHAT THESE TWO GREAT MEN OF OUR HISTORY HAVE DONE AND CONTINUE FOR THE POOR, DOWN TRODDEN, AND LESSER WALKS OF LIFE. THEY WILL BE RICHLY BLESSED.
    GOD BLESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let's see, what do you suppose he'll talk about? I know: "How I'll win peace in our time through negotiations with Ahmadinejab and Kim Jong." Hmmm, "peace in our time", is that something we've heard before?

More likely than peace in our time we'll get Al Qaeda suicide bombers in our subways and malls.

THE MODERATORS ARE CLEARLY SLANTED TOWARDS HILLARY.
(OR AT LEAST THE MODERATOR THAT DISALLOWED MY STATEMENT.)

"White Water. Vince Foster. Go Hillary!" NOT ANY WORSE THAN THE ANTI-OBAMA STATEMENTS THAT HAVE BEEN ALLOWED, DON'T YOU THINK?

THAT'S OKAY, YOU'LL FIND A NEW CHAMPION FOR YOUR CAUSE/S AFTER OBAMA BECOMES PRESIDENT. MARTHA STEWART, PERHAPS....

What have I missed? They say Sen Kennedy is walking , talking and doing fine. Why can't he give this speech himself or go sailing?
His cancer has not disabled him as of now from what I have seen.
Now for the cynical side of this, (which did not even cross my mind until I was closing)- is this political? To allow the presumptive Democratic candidate give the commencment speech, after all the reasons Kenndy said he wanted to do this in the first place, seemd suspect.
