(CNN) – Barack Obama will take Sen. Ted Kennedy's place in delivering the commencement address at Wesleyan University this Sunday.

According to Kennedy's Senate Office, Obama offered to take the Massachusetts senator's place earlier this week after Kennedy was diagnosed with brain cancer.

"Senator Kennedy accepted knowing it would be an historic opportunity for the school and all those attending, including his daughter Caroline Raclin who is graduating and his son Ted Jr. who is attending his reunion," Kennedy's office said in a statement. "He's enormously grateful to Senator Obama and the support he's received from all of his colleagues this last week.”

    How kind.

I think about all those "If there's anything I can do..." moments when people don't really mean it, and are just saying it to be polite. And then you say, "well you know, I sorta need help with...." And then they say "I'd love to, BUT...."

It seems there are some people that are sincere.

Best wishes to Senator Kennedy and his family. We're with you.

  16. Wow

All I can say is WOW!!!!! as a Hillary Supporter present tense. I applaud Obama for stepping up for Kennedy, God bless his heart. Moreover, I can see myself starting to like this guy, Hillary supporters lets be logical. If Kennedy is confident enought that he would allow a junior senator to speak at his behalf says that if Kennedy endorses him, well I will give a try.

This race is not over yet by a long shot no many what OBAMA Supporters say, but I have the Barrack credit for this one. Good Job
