For those of you who worry about the SIZE of his medical record you should be aware that in the Military and in Federal Government Service it is NOT unusual for peole to have large records, you see the military requires visits much more frequently than most peole do in the civilian world, a pilot has a HUGE record because their flight physicals are extensive and frequent. Any medical problem (ie high cholesterol, high blood pressure etc) is followed up much more frequently and in more detail than you would see in the civilan world also. 400 pages? not a big deal after 21 years my medical record was around that size (Nuclear physicals, asbestos physicals and follow ups etc) and I am in realtively good health.

So is my 81 year old mother who still mows her own lawn, and is sharp as a tack, but as qualified as she may be, I would not have her as president. Her physical health is great for her age, as well as her cognitive skills, but mom is 81. She doesn't remember like she use to, she's not as fast, and she doesn't grasp new ideas and technology as quickly as she use to, but worse, she is stuck in her old ways and habits, and hates change. It's called aging, with all of the downsides. The last I read, men still die much earlier then women, so McCain's mother can't be a comparator. Maybe his father can.

Working (and I use that word loosely) in the senate is one thing, but the grueling and stressful daily schedule of the office of president is quite another.

It is my understanding that the federal government has an age limit for it's employees which is 65 years old. If that is the case then how can a 72 year old man become the Commander in Chief of our goverment?

As for his mental health, I would not trust a psychologist with their own helath, much less anyone elses. A study done four or five years ago showed that 95% of licensed psychologists reach a diagnosis based upon their belief system and then look up the the diagnosis in the DSM III manual. The legal system with its rough and ready system does a better job.

All that being said, I would not vote for McCain. He is just a repeat of Bush; he is Bush III (a newer version of the previous two editions).

Health is always dicey beyond age 60, regardless of reports or analysis. I saw my uncles, father, father-in-law, and many other older males deteriorate rapidly once they got beyond 70. Several, including my grandfather, made it past 90, but there vitality, energy, responsiveness, alertness, and decision making capabilities all slowed down and were noticeably affected.

Running for perhaps the hardest, most stressful job on the planet at the advanced aged McCain is at is downright foolish. He should be retiring.

I have reservations with Clinton at 60, let alone McCain at 72. Both of them are simply more interested in the prestige rather than the office, I believe. No one in their right mind looks for that type of work and stress at those ages. There is something else in play here and I believe it is all about ego in both cases.

While McCain has a better chance for my vote given his more moderate stances in the Republican party, he will only get my vote if Clinton somehow steals the Democratic nomination.

My grandfather was old but in excelelnt health until he just tripped on the stairs and broke his leg…. Four weeks later he was laying death…

If you wake up in the middle of the night you may have no recollection of what you've done, and it can cause dependency. Who does the McCain campaign think they are kidding? And that wasn't a comprehensive report from the good doctort and analysis. Did the doctor consider the stress, contstant traveling and all the rigors of the job…?…. And only that but also the natural health decline with old age? My 70 years old Grandpa who hasn't had any major medical problems can not work 4 striaght hours without taking 2 or more hours nap. MacCain with all his previous health problems can not fulfill all the rigors of the office of the United States … And I trust that the good people of the United States will carefully evaluate everything on him and make their own decisions.

His health is not an issue. For anyone who doesn't want to take the slide into socialism that Obama is offering (moderate and conservative democrats), McCain is the only choice. By the way, McCain's plan for improving education is actually pretty good.

I find that statement misleading. Execellent health for 72 year old maybe, but the body naturally declines as you age.

His father and grandfather died in their 70's of stroke/heart attack. This is more indicitve of his genetic potential then his mother. Being president ages one very quickly and stress increases the risk of stroke and heart attack. He would not be allowed to have a job as a cop, boarder patrol, or join the armed services at this age. HIs hot temper does not help much in prevention as stroke or heart attack either. He is not a wise choice for this office.

I hope he is well but metastatic melanoma is notoriously hard to detect and can show up at any time.

Excellent health? So is my 77 year old grandmother, but she can't get around so good and her eyesight is a lot less than it was a year ago and her mind's a little slower and her driving a car has since stopped and she can't jog or swim laps in the pool or chase men. But she's in excellent health otherwise.

I'm not a McCain supporter, but I think having to release his medical records was truly unncessary. I think all the candidates should do it. Youth doesn't guarantee good health. Women in seemingly decent health around Hillary's age struggle with heart disease. African American men are 2 too three times more likely to dies from health related issues then thier white counter parts. Point is: they all should have to release thier records.

It doesn't change my opinion that he's too old and has a real statistical probability of dying in office due to his age.

Now, I do question Obama's inexperience when it comes to the subject of national security. This is a bigger problem then McCain's age.

How about this? On May 18 Obama says that Iran is a "tiny" threat, then two days later on May 20 he says Iran is a "grave" threat. Does this make any sense? Aren't these two statements condradicting each other? Please, I would like some answers. Also, please someone explain to me how Obama's raising taxes will help our economy. Well I, for one am glad that his health is good. As an independant I have been supporting Mr. Obam, and will continue to do so. However, if Ms. clinton steals the nomination from Mr. Obama it is nice to know that there will still be someone I can vote for in this election.

For those of you who cannot understand how I can go from Mr. Obama to supporting Mr. McCain I can only say this, I am an independant, I do not believe that ANY candidate will get all the issues they support through congress and past the Supreme Court, that being said I think what you have to look at is general trends and personalities. Mr. Obam and Mr. McCain have struck me as two things, reasonable (on most things) and honorable. While their opinions on certain subjects diverge widely I trust them both to be true to the core idea that they will do their best to see that America is looked after and is strengthened. Ms. Clinton, on the other hand, stirkes me as two things, unreasonable (my way or the highway) and dishonorable. This whole Fl/MI thing has really turned me off on her, her unwillingness to compromise (two weeks ago when they aoffered her a solution to solve the problem in MI and gave her 10 more delegates than Mr. Obama in the compromise and she turned the offer down struck me as someone who is not interested in SOLVING the problem but only in using it to her advantage). So to answer your question how can I support Mr. McCain over Ms. Clinton if I support Mr. Obama. Simple I would rather have an honorable, reasonable enemy than a dishonorable, unreasonable friend, I can deal with those who disagree while being able to discuss their disagreement much better than those, like Ms. Clinton (and bush) who have no ability to compromise and are not trustworthy.
