Watch Bill Clinton's remarks about the state of the race.

(CNN) — Former President Bill Clinton said that Democrats were more likely to lose in November if his wife Hillary Clinton is not the party’s presidential nominee, and suggested some people were trying to “cover this up” and “push and pressure and bully” superdelegates to make up their minds prematurely.

"I can’t believe it. It is just frantic the way they are trying to push and pressure and bully all these superdelegates to come out,” he said at a South Dakota campaign stop Sunday, in remarks first reported by ABC News. “'Oh, this is so terrible: The people they want her. Oh, this is so terrible: She is winning the general election, and he is not. Oh my goodness, we have to cover this up.'"

The former president added that his wife had not been given the respect she deserved as a legitimate presidential candidate. "She is winning the general election today and he is not, according to all the evidence,” he said. “And I have never seen anything like it. I have never seen a candidate treated so disrespectfully just for running.”

“Her only position was, ‘Look, if I lose I'll be a good team player. We will all try to win — but let's let everybody vote, and count every vote,’" he said.

The former president suggested that if the New York senator ended the primary season with an edge in the popular vote, it would be a significant development. "If you vote for her and she does well in Montana and she does well in Puerto Rico, when this is over she will be ahead in the popular vote,” said Clinton.

“And they're trying to get her to cry uncle before the Democratic Party has to decide what to do in Florida and Michigan” – which the party would need to do “unless we want to lose the election. "

The current requirement to claim the Democratic presidential nomination is 2,026 delegates, a formula that does not take into account delegates from Florida and Michigan, whose contests were not sanctioned by the party – although if those votes were to be counted as cast, Hillary Clinton would still currently trail rival Barack Obama in the overall delegate count.

The former president said Sunday that the media had unfairly attacked his wife since the Iowa caucuses, repeating an often-used charge that press coverage had made him feel as though he were living in a “fun house.”

"If you notice, there hasn't been a lot of publicity on these polls I just told you about,” he said. “It is the first time you've heard it? Why do you think that is? Why do you think? Don't you think if the polls were the reverse and he was winning the Electoral College against Senator McCain and Hillary was losing it, it would be blasted on every television station?”

He added, “You would know it wouldn't you? It wouldn't be a little secret. And there is another Electoral College poll that I saw yesterday had her over 300 electoral votes…. She will win the general election if you nominate her. They're just trying to make sure you don't."

I was in favor of Hillary staying in until June. And now, BC's comments convince me its time for her to go. Shame on him for playing the victim card.

New Yorker   May 26th, 2008 11:35 am ET

This is only a taste of things to come if Hillary were to become president. 4 years of saying that people are picking on her because she is a woman.

Obama leads in the popular vote…
Obama leads in the delegate count..
Obama leads in the states won…
Obama leads in the national poll…
Obama leads in super d's…
Obama leads in donations…
Obama leads in American confidence…

Obama leads America to change in the White house.

OBAMA '08!

Between Bosina, renegging on FL and MI and now the dog whistle she blew to her redneck supporters to help her out so she can win…add that on top of all the other Clinton issues and she NEVER had a chance to win. I hope her female supporters understand that and do not blame Barack Obama for her failings…She was not the right girl…We will find a better one who actually has the gall to not take her husbands crap.

Manuel TX   May 26th, 2008 11:35 am ET

Bill is telling the truth.

The left in the Democratic party (and the media) have been incredibly disrespectful toward Hillary.

The Obama campaign has also done a good job of gaming the nomination process, but unfortunately it won't translate to the general election. There are no caucuses in the general.

Good luck to the left…I'm voting centrist.

:)

TR   May 26th, 2008 11:34 am ET

The bottom line is The Clinton Campaign underestimated Sen. Obama and his campaign. Sen. Obama has played by the rules. Many in Fla and Michigan did not vote because they new their vote would not count. Sen. Obama was not even on the ballot when Sen. Clinton's name was. Sen. Clinton did not worry about MI and Fla votes until she fell behind and Sen. Obama has always said Mi & Fla should count, just in a fair way. Sen. Clinton has not been attacked any more or any less than any other candidate. Its all politics and it is playing right into the hand of Replubican strategists.

youngdemocrat   May 26th, 2008 11:34 am ET

Bill Clinton is 100% right!

The Democratic establishment never liked the Clintons because they were the change–people who could ACTUALLY stay competitive in midwestern and southern states and win elections in landslides. They still don't like them. Yet, they ARE the people who WILL win in November. They understand America unlike the establishment does.

The Democratic Party will KILL its chances with Barack Obama in November. We need CLINTON and we need HER now!

–a soon-to-be Independent thanks to the Democrats

Mary   May 26th, 2008 11:34 am ET

As a HRC supporter, I saddens me to see how the Clintons are pulling out the stops in there quest to see that Hillary is the nominee. At this point, it may be time to put your personal aspirations aside and look at what is good for the Democratic Party as a whole, because it worries me that the split in our party may cause us to lose the White House in Nov.

I cringe when hear a HRC supporter say that they will vote for McCain or not vote at all if Obama is the nominee, because if you think that things will improve if McCain wins the White House, how truly mistaken you are–I will support HRC to the end, however if she is not the nominee, I will vote for Obama (and remember, Obama and Clinton are much closer on major issues) because I much prefer him in the White House to McCain in the White House

Monica Lewdinsky   May 26th, 2008 11:34 am ET

Gee – I seem to remember Bill saying (quite recently):

"If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen……"

It is LONG past the time when BOTH Clinton's need to be put out to pasture – as 2 of last century's worst political specimens.

Unfortunately, I live in NEW YORK – so I have to put up with the whining loser for another 2 years (or longer if we are stupid enough to re-elect her). She fooled me once – in 2004. It won't happen twice.

Bob   May 26th, 2008 11:34 am ET

I think Hillary should run on the Independent ticket if she is cheated out of the nomination. Bill….Bet busy and get everything in place to put her on the Independent ticket. She will WIN!!

Bacall   May 26th, 2008 11:34 am ET

Hillary has not been treated well. President Clinton has been in politics many years and knows how it operates….she has the right to stay in the race until the last primary. She would make a great President but again this country is ruled by male dominance and still can't stand to see a women win. The democrats will not win the election unless Barrack can win the swing states and right now it is showing he cannot. We need her one way or the other in the general election………

Eric   May 26th, 2008 11:34 am ET

Bill, you are still on top of your game. Lying to everyone without a blink of a eye, attacking everybody instead of looking at your own flaws, you haven't changed a bit. The country has though, and doesn't trust anymore.

scott, Tampa, FL   May 26th, 2008 11:34 am ET

the bottom line is that most people don't trust the Clintons and the democrats are like a disfunctional family. The good people dont run anymore because of the lying and cheating going on in the campaigns. whatever happened to we ran the race and lost? stop blaming everyone else for everything that is wrong in your life and campaign. admit defeat and go home hillary. the republicans have done more for this country than the democrats, though they are too far the other side.

I REALLY HOPE that some kind of conspiracy comes out on Sen. Obama. People are so hard on Pres. Clinton!! He is a human being. If most of you had the chance to cheat on YOUR WIFE, and bang some chick 1/2 your age at YOUR job, you'd do it!!!! Let he who is without FAULT cast the first stone!!!!!!

TRUST ME, Obama is NO ANGEL!… Always be wary of what you DON"T KNOW!!..

Roofin Reality, Houston, Tx.   May 26th, 2008 11:33 am ET

President Clinton, I think you did a world of good in your eight years as President. But here are some numbers I swa recently:
Zogby has Obama winning by more than 6% over McCain as of 5-21

Rasmussen has McCain and Obama tied at 45%
By the way, they have Obama up 10%+ in Minn as well as being up in Penn and New Hampshire. Lastly, they have Obama as a 62% chance of winning in Nov.

Gallup has Cliinton up 5% over McCain. BUT, McCain up 2% over Obama.

Pollin Report has Clinton up 5% over McCain. BUT, McCain up 2% over Obama.

RealClear Politics has Obama up 2.8% and Clinton up 1.5%.

So, just a small sample says both of them can win. The catch is whether or not the losing side helps the other side.
Bottom line, the rules at the beginning says whomever has the most delegates win. Period.
So, if you want the Supers to decide, remember they're also deciding on their own fate. They know with HRC at the top, those rabid Reps will come to polls to vote against her, and then also vote down the line, putting their spots in peril.
Obama won't bring those rabid Reps against HRC to the polls, but he will bring all those new voters he's activated this cycle to the polls. And when they vote down ballot, they realize they will get most of that support. So, if you want the Supers to decide, remember this is the prism through which they see their decision being made.

Peter   May 26th, 2008 11:33 am ET

This "victim"-card is pathetic. Clinton is NOT being pressured out of the ract, the fact is:
Obama is ahead in the popular vote
Obama is ahead in pledged delegates and has been for months.

A couple of months ago, Clinton-camp was "begging" superdelegates to support them, now they say "evil superdelegates are pushing us out".

This tactic is pathetic and I hope the american people isn`t stupid enough to fall for it. Clinton has NOT been treated bad by the media at all.

Losing respect and dignity!!

Now….I wouldnt pay a plug nickel
they are SORE losers!!!!
They just cant stand the fact that Hillary met her match in Senator Obama..a force she wasnt ready for!!!!
Dont worry Bill, Senator Obama will pick up many votes and especially if he picks the right VP like Jim Webb !!
It sure wont be Hillary after all the negativity and devisivness!!
The republicans are sitting back laughing at this debacle and YOU

Shannon from Washington   May 26th, 2008 11:33 am ET

Do they not know how desperate they are sounding? At first I was mad at Hillary for being such a victim and truly setting back the feminist movement that us "hard-working" women have worked for decades to promote. Next, I was saddened by her inability to grasp with her own mismanagement and failures in this campaign. Now, I truly think her and her husband need medication. They have gone off the deep end and it is no longer amusing or a spectacle to watch, it is very sad.

Dee, St.Louis   May 26th, 2008 11:33 am ET

Hey Hillary supporters, you continue saying that Hillary is the best candidate and would beat McCain. Answer one question, why didn't you people financially support your candidate? Why is Hillary in debt? So, Hillary gets the nod and Obama's supporters pay off Hillary's debt NOT THIS TIME.

Tom Hopkin   May 26th, 2008 11:33 am ET

Don't you realize Bill that if the nomination is taken away from Obama with his insurmountable lead, the party would come apart and there would be no chance of a Democratic? victory in Nov. You and Hillary are making fools of yourselves. Grow up and get out of the race!

jujub   May 26th, 2008 11:33 am ET

Bill – Your wife is losing because she ran a negative inept campaign. She gave no respect to the small states and caucases (which helped you win the nomination in 1992). And, your absurb point that she is winning the general election by pointing to the electoral map is another joke…remember when your wife said the electoral college should be abolished after she won the Senate in 1992? Now you conveniently use it for your benefit.

Ralph Benno   May 26th, 2008 11:33 am ET

MR Clinton has good points
1. there is a cover up and a political set up. If we recall Mr edward has asked Hilary to quit ater the Iowa Causus..SInce then we have seen a deluge of peope asking her to quit. The funny part is that people are voting for her.

2 There is a party conspacy to push forward black man..instead of a woman.Yes I beleive that America is still sexist.

3. Out of all the people Mr Carter. He has lost all credibility in my mind. A true Judas. The way he wanted her out of the way quickly.

This is the waya it will look…No matter how much Hilary wins , the party will not accept her or accept a woman nominee.

I will support Hilary if she breaks up with the democratic party and run as independent for the sake of America. HELP US.

If not, A lot of people and including myself will cast the vote for McCain..It is just 4 more Year..

For all the women in America..Do not kid yourself, the democratic party is not the party who can help your cause…Move forward.. Now is your time… This primary has shown how hypocritical the democratic party are to you cause..

GO hilary if not.GO Mc Cain

Hello, nobody has stopped her from running and it is only the math and the rules that has stopped her inevitability of being the Dem presidential candidate. Unless Obama drops out of the race, he will win the delagate race. The delegate math is the RIGHT thing to watch and follow; anything else smacks of elitism or chicanery. I am not sure what the "solandored" on Clinton supporters speaks of above is all about, but if you are talking about slander and pushing the edge on civil discourse, you don't have to look further than the dirty hands of Bill and Hillary in this race. It alsoi amazes me that Hillary and Bill get to shout 'foul' anytime someone points out the reality of their situation or that they are in fact part of a PARTY where members are supposed to work ultimatey for the common good (hey, at least Romney knew when it was time to bow out)- is it a case of reverse sexism where nobody wants to be percieved of fouling a woman, or is it simply a case where folks are too scared of the Clinton power and their tendency to make Judases out of people who speak their mind?

Bill this is Why Al Gore didn't want you Campaigning for him .He did win the popular Vote and the election of 2000.But the Supreme court overulled the votes in Florida. You didn't fight for him after that happened. You didn't say he was a Victim ,but you did go on tour with BUSH 41 .I believe you two have some dealings. The Bill I remember knew that these Bushes where toxic to the World let alone the U.S.

Now you want to Fix an election just like they did. I believe you will take this to court and then the courts will decide the primary.

Scary another Black man in a court fighting for freedom .On many levels it seems to be an ending that we see all of the time.

Bill, there's never been a more dedicated supporter of you than me. You and Hill's conduct during this primary has made me sick to my stomach. It's time you both stop this painful down spiral of self respect. One thing I've learned thru-out this process is that you both have nowhere near earned the respect that I've given you thru the years. Your thirst for power, in spite of the rules of the party, has made you & Hill look and act like you've lost your minds.

Tom   May 26th, 2008 11:32 am ET

I know the obamakins will shout this down and make their usual derogatory remarks but the latest polls from Rasmussen show Obama losing to McCain by 2 and Hillary beating McCain by 5 while beating him by 8 in swing states. She's the best candidate to win the presidency and she always has been.

Bill and Hillary have played the race card, the gender card, and now they are palying the conspiracy card. Is Bill now saying that Hillary is a victim of the big bad boys? Please, give me a break. It is pitiful. They expected a coronation on February 5th. Now, they are refusing to admit they just ran a lousy campaign. I voted for Hillary in Texas but now I'll never vote for her again.

Donna   May 26th, 2008 11:32 am ET

First it's sexism, now it is a conspiracy, soon it will be Alien interferance…how about the truth? she is losing because of HER INEPT, DEBT RIDDEN CAMPAIGN…It's always easy to blame others for you losing instead of saying what YOU DID WRONG…Bill needs to look in the mirror..he is a BIG PART of why she is in the boat she is…

The only conspiracy are the MILLIONS of folks who want something and SOMEONE different in the White House…why can't they just understand that folks don't want Hillary and leave it at that…

Talk about ego!!!!

Delegates unite and send her home to Bill. We don't need her or Bill to beat McSame.
A vote for McSame is a shot in your own foot.
A vote for Obama is a vote for a better world.

Annette   May 26th, 2008 11:32 am ET

Please do the math, before lashing out… do the math…this contest is about delegate math. Once again it's unfortunate that the "experience" campaign did not pay attention to the math. Bill continues to say if this was the general election… this is not the general election this is the primary. This is the kind of thinking that's gotten the Clinton camp behind in delegates. What happen to the experience that they should have learned from the "experience". The campaign is winding down. The argument comes on the hill of that.

Larry from Georgetown, Tx   May 26th, 2008 11:32 am ET

Bill and Hillary, we have some moldy cheese in our refrigerator to go along with your whine. It's tough living a life of constant lies and frauds.

My question to the “under 30 generation” who for the first time in their lives “found their voice”… in Obama…..where have you been? Why not until now have you not exercised your right to vote? You place your faith in a man who has not been tested, pocesses little record of accomplishment and little to no experience in international or economic matters. For shame!

Life to you folks seems rather simple. I suppose in your minds, Obama offers a sense of entitlement — your time has come. The simple fact is that if you look past his rhetoric there is little substance. You buy into his chant of “change..yes we can” with little thought as to the complexities involved in bringing about change. Some of you worship him like he is a “messiah”, here to save us from ourselves. He may in fact be anointed the nominee, and you like him, will think nothing can stop you. The simple and relevant truth is……. One can fool some of the people some of the time…but not all the people…. all the time.

McCain may represent a party for which I may not find a lot of common ground however, I respect his honor, integrity and sacrifice to our country, the scars of which he still bears as a testament to his courage…. And I will place my hope for change in him. He has earned my respect and most likely my vote and the votes of millions of others who feel the same way.

For the sake of our country and that of our future….thank god there are more of us than you, and we will not allow this fantasy to continue past Nov. DNC party chairs and uncommitted superdelgates…..you either stop this false prophet now….or we will do so with our votes come Nov.

PhilT   May 26th, 2008 11:31 am ET

Hillary has been slandered and treated so disrespectfully just for running?

As John Lennon said, Just give me the truth, all I want is the truth.

Hillary -
"Obama is a christian, as far as I know."
"You can't choose your family, but you can choose your pastor."

Well, you may not be able to choose your biological family, but you could choose not to stay with a cheating, lying, whining disgrace of an ex-president like Bill, who unfortunately I voted for twice. (Had I known then what I know now).

"Sniper-fire in Bosnia."

"I have 35 years of service (really?), John McCain has 35 years of service, Obama has a speech he gave in 2002."

"Sexism is obvious in this race, there is no racism, but he can't get the votes of working, hard-working, white americans."

"I always opposed NAFTA."

Bill, why don't you and the missus go on a long vacation? You clearly both need one, as do the american people need one from you.

Stop Pushing Women Out   May 26th, 2008 11:31 am ET

I've never seen any candidiate for office treated as terribly as Sen. Clinton has been treated. The democratic establishment has acted outrageously in trying to push her out of this highly competitive race. The media has been utterly biased against her and blatantly in favor of Obama.
The whole thing is disgusting. If this were a movie, everyone would say that the outrageous way she has been treated is over the top and unbelievable.
I am disgusted at the Democratic party and I'm a life long Democrat. I will vote my conscience in November and will not fall in line with this conspiracy by the establishment to push aside the female candidate. I will also consider all of this as I vote down my ballot in the other races in November.

Her resume is an embelishment, her decision to support the Iraq fiasco is an embarresment, and above all her maniacal obsession to control this country is at the very least frightening and her legacy remains as the single most destructive personality in our Democratic Party.

Amazing how when the chips are down the Clintons resort to the victim card. The night of the debate between her and Rick Lazio in her first run for the Senate the local news discussed how poor her performance was. By the morning the entire talk was about how he intimidated her when he approached her. Attacks on her husband were "vast right wing conspiracies." Now that she has run an inept campaign with no plans or ground troops for after Super Tuesday, she must be a victim again. After all, when the Clintons do not get their way they usually see it as someone elses fault.

Polls 5 months out don't mean anything. What were the polls saying about Clinton winning the Democratic Primary 5 months ago? For that matter, wasn't McCain wasn't doing so well in the Republican primary 5 months ago. You show me one poll where McCain beats Obama and I'll show you two that show Obama beating McCain. But it doesn't matter this far out. McCain hasn't even been tested by a close campaign like Obama. There's a lot we will find out about McCain…a lot.

These two will stop at nothing!!!! Obviously if Hillary is not the nominee there must be something wrong with the system, or the voters, now it's a conspiracy. If what Bill is saying is true, then why is Obama favored over John McCain my 10 points while Hillary is nursing a 1 point lead? You've been so fond of pointing to polls, lets analyze that one for a bit.

This is truly pathetic! Hey Bill these past two weeks are the exact reason the voters have rejected Hillary, this nomination is not somehow owed to you; it's not a birth right. June 3rd cannot come soon enough!!!

Obama '08

MarilynJonesLadig   May 26th, 2008 11:29 am ET

Bill Clinton, you are not the same person I voted for and vehemently defended in the 90's. Hillary is NOT winning in any way shape or manner. You and your whackadoodle wife are helping only McCain.

lizzyh   May 26th, 2008 11:29 am ET

If anyone should know about covering up… I guess he would!

Ryan   May 26th, 2008 11:29 am ET

If Hillary Clinton is not on that ticket come November… after all of the millions who have voted for her including myself… then I will be voting for John McCain. Too much media and Obama supporters have trashed my favorite candidate.. early on if she didn't win I said I would always support the demicrats but not this time. Myself and family will be voting for John McCain.

Dealt   May 26th, 2008 11:29 am ET

Desperation, bad taste, unethical. Bill's going downhill fast. Once this is over, both he and Hillary will be international laughingstocks, whatever the oucome.

sdn   May 26th, 2008 11:29 am ET

I am shocked by the behavior of former President Clinton. He is tarnishing his legacy by doing this. He and Hillary were also trying to "sway the Supers" their way now he's calling foul simply because they were swayed towards Sen. Obama. The Clinton's are truly disgracing themselves.

James   May 26th, 2008 11:29 am ET

This is so sad. Bill Clinton had been forgiven of so many sins by hstory, only to bring all of us back to the divisive politics of the 1990's

Do you think history will forgive the Clintons a second time for destroying the nation's first African-American Democratic Presidential nominee ?

D.Kimbro OHIO   May 26th, 2008 11:29 am ET

This man is insane. Remember Bill you are also affecting her senate re-election campaign. I wonder what the poeple of New York think?? This was her ultimate aim was to try and become president. Now that dream has died, they want to prolong the agony for everyone because they feel hurt. Get over it and get out now!!! By the way Bill thanks for screwing up the banking system, with dergulation. We are still paying the price for that one.. I hope all of you so called democrats continue this folly. Please vote for McCain so we can be rid of you posers.

Mark Schulte   May 26th, 2008 11:28 am ET

The only reason I could not vote for Hillary Clinton is because then Bill would be "back". I liked him as President but his behavior and commnets throughout this primary season shows he has totally "lost it".

Tim MN.   May 26th, 2008 11:28 am ET

I never liked Bill but I always have liked Hillary and what he says is true! What is going on here? Why are the democrats nominating a person who is a sure loser he can't win the democrats are split 50/50 on this and the independents say they will vote mcCain! And all these past nominees who lost by a landslide in their elections endorsing Obama? And everyone is like oh! we better endorse him too. If everyone recalls the Cinton era however tarnished was the most profitable ever. we werent at war we didnt pay $4 for gas the entire world adored us. so we are just going to hand the Election to McCain? I say more power to ya at least I can now vote for Barr!

Andrew (Toronto, Ontario)   May 26th, 2008 11:28 am ET

It kills me how the popular vote is now the new criteria for deciding the nomination. Hillary didn't care much for the fact that Florida and Michigan's votes wouldn't count at the time the decision was made. All the presidential candidates had to sign off on this, where was her uproar and concern for the voters then? It wasn't there because she thought she had the nomination wrapped up (entitlement). Who is the real elitist now?

Ray   May 26th, 2008 11:28 am ET

Sad. Just sad.

Jen, Gainesville   May 26th, 2008 11:28 am ET

The voters and the media have been extremely tolerant of Hillary. If it were another candidate, he or she would have exited the race more than 10 times. No "victim card" !! They have played the race card, the gender card, the fear card, and now the victim card. They are so divisive, even at this moment. What a shame!

Dick in Sioux Falls   May 26th, 2008 11:28 am ET

RRO: If you choose not to know Obama's plans for the country, that is a choice, not the reality. Obama has been clear about lifting the cap on SS taxes. It makes no sense that working stiffs pay SS taxes on every penny they ever earn, while the CEO of EXXon-Mobil, when he got a $400 Million Retirement Bonus, he paid not one penny in SS tax because his first month's salary that year maxed out his SS contributions. Only Obama has supported this idea, along with Sen Orin Hatch of Utah, hardly a liberal. Hillary has too many wealthy friends for her to support the idea. Did you know that? Lifting the cap would insure the fiscal health of SS and Medicare through all future generations.
If you wish to know Obama's detailed plans for the economy and foreign policy, look them up online. However, I don't think you really want to be confused with the facts. You'd rather continue to spread disinformation, like your candidate.

Kevin   May 26th, 2008 11:28 am ET

Bill's idea that it's nearly June and superdelegates are making up their mind "prematurely" is laughable. If any superdelegate declared their support prematurely, it was those that did so before any votes were cast, and that was when Hillary enjoyed a nearly 100 superdelegate lead.

Clinton Supporter   May 26th, 2008 11:28 am ET

Eventually Obama and Co. will figure out that they need Clinton supporters to win this election. She trails Obama by a miniscule number of delegates and leads him in the popular vote. remember, they may find an arcane way to eliminate Florida and Michigan for nominating purposes, but they don't get to revisit the general election vote to make it go their way. Only Republicans get to do that!

While Obama may make a show of embracing the woman his campaign has cast as a racist power hungry monster, his rather nasty supporters as evidenced on these pages, may not. What if they howl when Hillary makes a pro-Obama speech? Hmm…

At the very least, the Obama camp should embrace Hillary's far superior health care plan in exchange for her public support. Otherwise, why would she do any more than pay lip service to them because she's a loyal Democrat and will at least show up. I'd rather see McCain and no new health care plan so we can start fresh after the Obama 4-year interruption. We've waited this long. What's another 4 years?

That is, until she's booed or publicly insulted by one or more Obama worshippers.

paul   May 26th, 2008 11:27 am ET

Here is the truth, from Hillary’s own words and actions.

Hillary: The Politics of Personal Destruction
by David N. Bossie

the book and the movie uncover Hillary’s record of cynicism, controversy, and scandal and establish that the "politics of personal destruction" is Hillary’s favored approach to dealing with anyone who stands in her way.

jozap   May 26th, 2008 11:27 am ET

His comments show no connection to reality.

If they count FL & MI with 0 for Obama, then leave out all the caucus states, change a few more rules, Hillary could win. But that is not what is going to happen.

The Clintons just don't know how to leave the race gracefully or without doing as much damage as possible to Obama and the party.

Mia   May 26th, 2008 11:27 am ET

Well, Hillary's not going to be President. And good riddance. I need a decoder to translate the true meaning of the comments coming out of their mouths.

The media was all to willing to deam her the winner even before the first vote was cast. The Clinton's glory days are over.

I find the Clintons to be very good at getting folks riled up, but not so good at explaining things…

AN OHIO VOTER   May 26th, 2008 11:26 am ET

Well said, President Clinton, well said!!

I keep wondering why the DNC has treated Hillary the way they have and also why they have treated you with such hatred and disrespect. Why are they so afraid of Hillary?? Why can't Obama close the deal instead of encourage the "get out Hillary, get out" mantra? What is going on in the Democratic Party and the main stream media that they are trying to cover up? Obama is suppose to be the candidate who will unite and bring about Change…All he has done is divide the party with the help of the "old guard" Dems (Kennedy, Daschle, Dean, Pelosi, Kerry) These people do not represent "change", they are old Dems. Hillary is a very strong and viable candidate.

WHY DOES THE DNC HATE THE CLINTONS???? WHY DOES THE MAIN STREAM MEDIA HATE THE CLINTONS? WHAT IS THE RATIONALE HERE?? WHY ARE THEY AFRAID TO COUNT THE VOTES AND SEAT MICHIGAN AND FLORIDA??

KEEP TALKING BILL AND KEEP FIGHTING…YOU TAUGHT HILLARY HOW TO FIGHT!!!! DON'T EVER GIVE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HILLARY ALL THE WAY TO THE WHITE HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

john california   May 26th, 2008 11:26 am ET

Do any of you honestly believe that Obama can win the general when he can't win any of the major elcetoral states? Do any of us really care that he won in south carolina when he didn't win in California, Texas, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Florida and Michigan?

On another note, stop blaming Florida democrtas for having an early primary. Their governor and their legislature (both Republican) moved their state primary up, not the Florida democrats. How is it fair that their votes hsould not be counted?

Eugenia Mulholland   May 26th, 2008 11:26 am ET

Obama has received a great deal of exposurer on television and Hillary has not. I thought in U.S. the popular votes counted and we had a say on who was going to be the candidate for the President. Doesn't experience count? Are we going to elect a president who can charge up a crowd and have all these people on his coat tail telling him what he should do? You don't hear that in Fl. the state government is republican and that is who changed the voting date. Why isn't that in the news?

granforchange   May 26th, 2008 11:26 am ET

Bill is right, that Hillary has a right to continue, he is worng that, if Obama is the eventual nominee, he is obligated to pick her. This again, is the double-faced-ness of Clinton, The loser dies not deserver anything but to be respected. The problem with the Clintons is that they believe their own poli-speaks. Hillary and Bill set up the divide, a strategic move. The thought was to bring this out later on (as with now) saying that "these are our and only our votes." If Hillary is not on the ticket then they will defect to McCain. This suggests these so-called supporters of Clinton only vote for her – the person – not the plan. What is curious to African-Americans, is why is it so hard for some people to do for once, what blacks have beeing doing ssense we've been allowed in the voting process. Though people don;t want to lose, its okay when and if we learn to lose with grace and respect. Clinton has not lost yet, but there is no respect, nor grace, in the way she or Bill is running her campaign. And what is worse now, if the Democrats lose in November, regardless of who is on the ticket, the Clintons will shoulder much of that blame. Now, they have positioned themselves such that the only way they will ever gain serious respect is if Hillary is on the ticket, she delivers in those so-called swing states, and they win. Otherwise, who would ever respect the CLintons again. Cerainly not African-Americans, who for the most part, loved them, and certainly not their fellow Democrats.

Al is wrong!   May 26th, 2008 11:26 am ET

Al, From Atlanta if she ran as an indipendent, she would be handing over the Presidency to McBush.

If she did that, she will never be President.

Al form Atlanta – If your not a republican than your comments are idiotic. So, your solution is for Clinton and Obama to split the blue states and McCain to win all the red states, huh? Clever!

bilco   May 26th, 2008 11:26 am ET

As someone who knows an unpledged delegate, what I can tell you is that she is sick of getting non-stop calls from the Clinton campaign. Five or six a day.

The Obama folks calling once a week to see if there is anything they can do to make her mind up – in other words, they are respectful of her tme.

Larry of Boston   May 26th, 2008 11:26 am ET

I do not have to like Bill Clinton to agree with him, and I do agree with him 101% on this perspective.

let the Obama supporters now come out and throw more dirt on the Cintons – absolutely shameful bahavior – shameful.

Ed, Santa Fe, NM   May 26th, 2008 11:26 am ET

Boy these CLINTONS just cannot accept losing, huh? They will subvert the Democratic Party in retaliation for Hillary's LOSS. They will work against Obama (even though they say they will support him) and hand the election to GOP.

Why would Clinton say anything like this when Hillary has already lost? But they hang on, hoping for dirty back-room politics to hand her the nomination. Is this the new Clinton Fear Tactic?

The more these CLINTONS whine and cry, the more I hate them.

Roper in Denver   May 26th, 2008 11:25 am ET

Prior to the beginning of the primaries, the DNC established the criteria to determine who would be selected as the party's nominee. There would be primaries and caucaces conducted to award delegates. Delegate total ( both the standard and the "super" variety) would determine the winner and nominee. Those are the established rules. Not total popular vote. Not who believes they have more momentum. ETC.
My 4 year old knows the rules to GO fish. She does not like losing. But when she does, she deals with it. Once Hillary has some free time, I can have my daughter explain how to accept the rules of the game.
I voted for Bill Clinton twice. They are disgracing their legacy more than the stained blue dress ever did.

Reese   May 26th, 2008 11:25 am ET

Bill, would you PLEASE just SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!! I am so tired of you and Hillary playing the victim. Why is it always someone else's fault when things don't work out the way you want them to. When you point the finger at others there are three pointing right back at you. You don't have to admit it to the world they you may have something to do with your current situation, but you could at least stop blaming it on everybody and everything else.

Sarah L, Fayetteville, AR   May 26th, 2008 11:25 am ET

Hillary is not a victim. What kind of leader plays the victim every time they don't get their way. That's not being a fighter, it's being a sore loser.

Furthermore, Obama is ahead in general election matchups against McCain while Hillary barely ties McCain.

Donna   May 26th, 2008 11:25 am ET

Bill Clinton is 100% right. The media completely ignored John Edwards, they wouldn't give him the time of day, and the only time we hear about Hillary is when they have something negative to say. In all honesty, I wasn't sure I was going to vote for her, in the beginning. Now, I am 100% positive I would vote for her. If she is cheated out of the nomination…..I will either vote Libertarian or I will not vote….Bill is correct, Hillary has not gotten the respect she deserves. Why? Because she is a woman!

OBAMA ALL THE WAY   May 26th, 2008 11:25 am ET

This is so despicable! What would they be saying if the person who won: – the most votes
- the most states
- the most delegates
Was denied the nomination!
Just because the Clintons came into this thinking the nomination was owed to them, and they would have smooth ride with no competition, doesn't mean they have to be such a sore looser!

THIS COMMENT IS SO DIVISIVE!

JR   May 26th, 2008 11:25 am ET

I voted for Bill Clinton… twice. I will never vote for Hillary with everything the Clinton's have said and done to try to take this election. For the sake of the country, your legacy and the Democratic Party, please stop.

Jen, Gainesville   May 26th, 2008 11:25 am ET

If Hillary is the most disrespected presidential candiate in recent history, it is because her conduct of the campaign that has made her lose respect, not because of any sort of bias against her. As a woman, I feel ashamed by her conduct and think her experience sets back the clock for other female politicians to advance their careers.

Foggy   May 26th, 2008 11:25 am ET

Well here it is once again. Bill Clinton lying to the American people.
Why anyone would vote for Hillary at this point is beyond me. I was a Hillary supporter early on but after seeing her many faces and hearing all the lies I can not be a part of it. Why do they want the office so badly? It is a shame a former president has made such a fool of himself in the eyes of the people that once supported him.

Brian, Elkton, MD   May 26th, 2008 11:25 am ET

So true, Bill – glad you are around as a non-biased paragon of virtuous truth to explain what the "reality" actually is: that the Democrats are actually conspiring to avoid winning the next presidential election just to make Hillary (and you) look bad. Millions and millions of new, energetic voters for Obama who were enlisted solely to bring down the Clintons at our nation's expense.

I can't believe that I didn't see it before…

That whole message of hope, change, openness, inclusion, unity, peace, and progress isn't attractive at all, is it? How could we have been so blind…

Sam in SoCal   May 26th, 2008 11:25 am ET

Man, is Bill desperate. He wants to get back into the White House SO badly, it's pathetic, sad and sort of funny in a ranting, drooling, crazy street preacher sort of way – which is to say, not really funny at all. I thought that her campaign had gotten him under control, but if this is any indication, they sure haven't. Would you really want someone governing this country who can't even get her date rapist husband to shut up for a few months while she tried (and fairly successfully) to convince the voters that she and he were not the totally narcissistic, amoral, voracious-for-power-yet-totally-unwilling-or-able-to-do-anything-useful-with-it hippy/redencks that the two of them truly are? If she can't get Bubba to muzzle it, sit on his hands and keep it in his pants for the length of the campaign season, what good would she be running this country?

Hillaryis404   May 26th, 2008 11:24 am ET

nice of old bubba to stand up for the little woman like that. seriously, could he have sabotaged her campaign anymore? his legacy is now reduced to a stained blue dress.

ellen   May 26th, 2008 11:24 am ET

He is right about several things. The media has not given Clinton the
coverage they have given Obama. He is constantly in the news. They
downplayed her win in WVA to jump on the Edwards endorsement for
Obama. And how can the polls label her as negative when Obama
started the whole negative attacks with that NAFTA mailing. Obama
is very clever at getting what he wants, if you really listen to him
he has a way of twisting the words around to suit himself. When I
first became aware of Obama I liked the man. But then I started
to really listen to what he was saying and my respect turned to mistrust.
How can he be fooling so many people?

Ilene MI   May 26th, 2008 11:24 am ET

Just when you think Bill and Hillary can't stoop any lower……….God help us get this over with and send them home.

Rascal   May 26th, 2008 11:24 am ET

The polls have Obama beating McCain by a bigger margin than Clinton. I respect Bill as a president and for what he has done for this country but he needs to give it up. It's over….you can not change the rules after the game has been played. Obama is a the better candidate and if he campained in Florida and Michigan, he would have won those states or would have been a close race.

Scot C.   May 26th, 2008 11:24 am ET

Everyday it's something new from the Clinton campaign and it used to work in the beginning. How do they come up with this stuff on a daily basis? I find it amazing and disgusting all at the same time.

Bill, give it up. The democratic nomination is decided by the delegate count not the popular vote. You should know this, how long have these rules been in place? Since you won the nomination?

How about following the rules? How about showing some dignity for yourself and the democratic party? No matter what the Hillary supporters say, what about Obama supporters? Do they count in the democratic party that Bill is talking about or are they part of an alternate democratic party?

Enough already! She's lost, it's over, now let's get to it. It's time to take McCain down.

Funny   May 26th, 2008 11:24 am ET

I just don't understand Mr. Clinton at this point. Hillary has not been treated unfairly in this campaign. It is most unfortunate that the candidate with the "most experience" has made the most mistakes during the process and didn't have an effective plan after Feb. 5th. Stop with all the rhetoric and start talking like a party elder statesman and promote unity.

Douglas A. McCarthy   May 26th, 2008 11:24 am ET

Poor Clinton-worried about losing the ability to abuse White House perks again?

Paul   May 26th, 2008 11:24 am ET

Bill just needs to shut up. He has nothing worth saying.

Reality Check   May 26th, 2008 11:24 am ET

Hillary is leading the popular vote. There is no reason why this primary process should end before the convention. To those who whine about the caucuses – they don't tabulate any popular vote count so if you're angry about that take it up with your own caucus state. Caucuses are also the most undemocratic way of selecting a candidiate in our American political system (it disadvantages the elderly, workers, caretakers (ie: mothers with young kids) and it generally does not represent the will of the general public – look at Texas primary/caucus if you have any doubt about that)).

Hillary is leading in the Popular Vote
Hillary has won 7 of the last 11 primaries
Hillary has won the key swing states
Hillary won Indiana which Obama called the tie-break state
Hillary has won half a million more votes than Obama since March 1
Hillary is beating McCain in the national polls (Obama is not)
Hillary has the electoral college votes to win in November

All the way to Denver. Hillary '08

Patricia in Las Vegas   May 26th, 2008 11:24 am ET

Bill you are wrong wrong wrong….we DO NOT want Hillary in the White House, she has run a disasterous campaign, has out of control spending, cannot decide who she really is. And to suggest that this is a cover up just shows that you too, are losing all sense of reality. Give it up.

jackie oliver   May 26th, 2008 11:23 am ET

Billiary Clinton have weakened the democratic party. They are divisive, negative people, with a very grey area in truth and integrity. It is time for the super delegates to put a stop to this or the Republicans will win this election. Sometimes I think Hilliary has stayed in this election just to weaken Obama's position and then turn around and say, 'You should have voted for me.' That would be a typical move, just like,' Let's move the goal posts and count all of Michigan and Florida, even if Obama wasn't on the ballot and we agreed to not campaign there and count them in. I am down now so I want them counted." duh-3rd grade bargaining.

I am deeply upset with the super delegates who are sitting on the fence. Officially I am an independent who only got involved in this because I feel so strongly about Obama and change. What an eye opener politicians are!!!!! Commmit now and stop this devastation.

Sara   May 26th, 2008 11:23 am ET

Disgusting!!!
And where is the Clinton contribution to Memorial Day – something to celebrate patriotic Americans other than Bill and Hillary???

Mary   May 26th, 2008 11:23 am ET

The Democratic Party started with nine major candidates, most of whom were eminently qualified. Since then the voters get to choose. It is not anyone's turn, or anyone's right to be president, it is our right to vote. Unfortunately Florida and Michigan voters will be somewhat disenfranchised, some because they stayed home thinking that their votes wouldn't count, some who voted for only the candidate still on the ballot, some because the votes of their states will be apportioned in some kind of back room compromise. What is very clear to me is that neither of the candidates get to choose what that compromise is. That's like letting the student decide what grade he's going to get on an exam.

Tammy from Grand Rapids   May 26th, 2008 11:23 am ET

I'm sure the coverup was started by Keith Olbermann, the closet Obamarite. He's not an unbiased news commentator, he's just a snivelling surrogate for Obama. No reason for anyone to listen to him.
I'd just as soon listen to Hal Axelrod—-same thing.

DD   May 26th, 2008 11:23 am ET

CP in Kansas City,

I agree with you. I am backing Hillary, but if Obama wins …I am definitly voting for him. I don't really think Obama can win, because, I have a bad feeling that it's the Republicans that are pushing him to be the nominee. Yet, if he does win the nomination …I am determined that I am going to make them regret thier own choice.

Everyone whom hates bush needs to back the winner of the Democrated nomination no matter what, and whether it's hillary or Obama ….that should be clear.

Ps. I don't believe Hillary should not drop out until the end. Why, because if she goes until the Convention this entire mess will be resolved …either she wins or she loses, without one side feeling like she was forced to do anything. If she drops out before, the party really will be splintered. It will feel like she was forced, and in such a case …bad feelings will feister

Bill Clinton is right.. Hillary needs to be our next president.. She has been working so hard, and she has never given up.. The media is giving Obama a free ride, and the media is always picking on Hillary.. I think that is just unfair.. I think Obama supporters are just to blind to see that this is really happening.. We need a president with tough skin!

Hillary in '08!!

al snyder   May 26th, 2008 11:23 am ET

I am beginning to see why the republicans pursecuted him during his years in the Whitehouse. Everything is a conspiracy against him, yet rules mean nothing to him and he will say and do anything to dust-up everything. Facts, truths, they are the real victims. Everyone is at fault, but him. Clinton supporters have some warped sense of reasoning to be able to look past all the lying, hypocracy and blaming all, while taking no responsibility for anything.

KC   May 26th, 2008 11:23 am ET

Bill Clinton needs to shut up and go home. He is nothing but a trouble maker. The whole problem with Hillary's campaign is Bill. He is so desparate to ge in to the white house again only for his own selfish reasons. The same as Hillary, they doesn't care about their supporters because it is always I want – I am entitle to the presidency because I am a Clinton.
He wants every one to think that Hillary is the only one who can beat McCain. They both are destroying Obama with all their dirty tricks and lies. Well after June 3rd, and this meeting on May 31st, see will see what happens.

watat   May 26th, 2008 11:23 am ET

Sir, Presidency not a birth right for the Clintons, learn to accept defeat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ernesto Lopez   May 26th, 2008 11:23 am ET

Since CNN keeps ignoring my comments I will post this again:

Obama has won his right to be the nominee and Clinton hasn't, he has more votes, more pledged delegates, he even achieved the majority of pledged delegates, so he deserves to be the nominee, this is a democracy, if you believe in that Bill, then shut up. And if the democrats don't win is because of your kitchen sink strategy, your support and encouragement for racism, and being such a sore losers as you are.

New Yorker   May 26th, 2008 11:23 am ET

First of all, Hillary has every right to continue running. That's completely ok and completely acceptable. However, to blame others for things that you have brought on yourself is only going to make folks respect you less.

Even though Hillary's campaign is not slamming people right now, let's not forget that for most of the primary season, she ran an ugly campaign, slamming media, voters, and candidates alike. We were all offended from her constant demands, rule-changing, unlikeable personality, and constant accusations. This all made the season seem to go on much longer than what it actually is.

So, people want to see you go, Hillary. Not because you're a woman, but because your campaign was obnoxious and you came off as ENTITLED. I am a woman voter by the way.

Hemoglobin   May 26th, 2008 11:23 am ET

Our God has spoken!!! Everyone rise and don't THINK at all what he is telling you about his wife is not true and please ignore that little voice of reason in your head that tells you these people are nuts. "Yes master, Hillary will win in November and even though most people want her rival as they have already spoken, you will ensure she runs for president. You are the most righteous one, we thank the world for you Clintons".

Why is this man trying to make it seem as if his wife has been victimised by this. She is not winning the nomination, she is loosing in all areas, and she changes the rules for everything once it suites her. It simply tells me these people are are only in it for themselves and no-one else. After what Hillary said on Friday, I thought Bill would have the good sense to keep his mouth shut and not try to incite people to feel bitter .

Ron, LV   May 26th, 2008 11:22 am ET

With Bill and Hillary and John McCain all running against him, it will be very difficult for Obama to win. Bill's remarks are out of bounds and just go further to divide the party. The Clinton's are always blaming some type of conspiracy against them instead of standing up and taking the blame for their own mistakes and problems. They are no better than Rove and Bush. You get the feeling that they are somehow the chosen ones and if they are not chosen then its some conspiracy. They twist the facts to suit their own ambitions. The only conspiracy is the ones being perpetrated by the Clinton;s themselves. They only care about their own persoel glory and nothing about the party or the country.

Michigan Voter !!!   May 26th, 2008 11:22 am ET

It's Past The The Point Of Voting Because of The Democratic Platform Policies , For Me !
It's About Who Is Best Suited To Lead This Country !!!

For This Democrat Ther Are Only Two Choices ,

Hillary Or John Mcain

Bill you are right.
I'm still waiting for the Florida and Michigan votes.
Never Obama and his VP rev wright 2008 ticket.
I will vote for Mccain .

Morgan   May 26th, 2008 11:22 am ET

If all Dems get behind Obama he will not lose in November. If Clinton doesn't mobilize her supporters to back Obama it is as much HER fault for a November loss as it is his. Just as it will be Obama's fault if he doesn't get his supporters to back Clinton if a miracle happens and she is the nominee. Seriously the primary and general election is not based on the popular vote! It's based on delegates and the electoral college. If it was the popular vote Al Gore would be president. Stop trying to change the rules midway through. Besides, it's early for those novemeber polls. Gore and Kerry should have won based on early polls as well, but that didn't happen. Polls are not guarantees.

Do you really think people will be happy with Clinton getting the nomination without the majority of pledge delagates? Do you think ignoring the caucuses and disenfranchising their votes is the way to claim the popular vote? What you are just hearing that Clinton only has the popular vote lead by disenfranchising the caucus voters? What everybody wants Florida and Michigan to count fairly? What most Dems want the party to unite? What?

Evelyn Florida   May 26th, 2008 11:21 am ET

Oh if some of you don't think it's a conspiracy then why is govenor of Florida no a hpeful for VP for McCain. The Florida and Michigan voting issue was done to destroy Clinton. Obama could have never taken these states especially Florida. Please with the stand Obama takes with Cuba he would have lost just because the Cubans would have made it possible for him to lose.

Besides doesn't everyone know about the Rezco court trial that are going on right now. Obama is going to be out before November. Why do you think the press was so one sided to Obama they wanted him as the nominee so then the scandal of Rezo could emerge and Obama would be out. We are going have another republican up there. Don't you all see it?

unbelieveable   May 26th, 2008 11:21 am ET

Hillary can not win, Michigan and Florida should not count otherwise, 2012 primary all the states will choose whatever dates thay want and it will go on this long every time.

All states should have their primary on the same date.

Stop the B.S. Dean!

Tony in Chicago   May 26th, 2008 11:21 am ET

This is becoming ridiculous.. Everything from Bill and Hillary is spin in some form or fashion. They have spun me dizzy. This has to end soon before they ruin the in changes for the democrats. Does Hillary have the right to contiunue — Yes. However, after all the contests are over on June 3rd. This needs to end. Superdelegates need to step up for the good of the party.

Andrew   May 26th, 2008 11:21 am ET

Wait, she's polling over 300 electoral votes? Er, what polls are you looking at? Hopefully nothing from Mr. Penn, because we've seen how well he did with polling earlier in the campaign. And the so called popular vote lead that Clinton has is if you include votes from Florida and Michigan for her, exclude any uncommitted votes from Michigan, and then don't include 4 caucus states (one that she won, mind you). Surprising; the Clintons say they want all votes to count, but they leave out 4 states' worth. Hmm, who's disenfranchising whom?

George   May 26th, 2008 11:21 am ET

it is a strategy to help Mccain in November . everybody knows they are preparing for 2012 election. American people are smart and dont try to befool them.

Get-it-right   May 26th, 2008 11:21 am ET

If your wife will not quit the race due to her strongheadedness why not help her quit and stop playing the victim card. Winning elections required strategies and the Obama camp got it right! The will surely have the right strategies in place against McCain at fall. If little know Obama can displaced the "powerful dynasty of the Clintons, I believe he can beat McCain either the Clintons Support him or not.

The only strategy Senator Clinton should working at now is a graceful exit strategy. I'm can lend her two: 1. Run as an Indipendent 2. Support McCain directly or indirectly, not sure if She hasn't embraced the second anyway.

The Clinton's have done this to themselves. They have disparaged every voting group except their hard core older women supporters. To top it off they are whipping those into believing that Hillary Clinton is a victim of sexism. Hillary Clinton has run a campaign that has been awful, plagued by debt, plagued by divisiveness and plagued by inept lobbyist seeking to buy the presidency for their own personal gain.

It's over, time to rally around Obama and win the presidency in November.

The metric is delegates. You can't change the rules in the middle of the game, Bill. How is a groundswell consensus of opinion that she has little chance of being nominated because mathematically she cannot achieve the necessary number of delegates a cover up?!! The only cover up is the Clinton team covering their own eyes because they don't want to see the reality of the situation.

No one is going to make her pull out before June 3. But after the decision is made regarding Florida and Michigan, regardless of that outcome, she still will not be chosen as the party nominee. Tough luck.

white middle aged woman FOR OBAMA   May 26th, 2008 11:20 am ET

He said his wife has not been given the respect she deserved as a legitmate candidate. What a joke, her behaviour throughout the campaign has caused her to lose the respect from most of the people that have been watching this mess. And exactly who is it that is trying to cover up, what ? And he says she's winning in the general election, I thought the general election wasn't until November. And now she's a "victim" ?. I guess every other card has been played, why not this one ?

Daniel Stevens   May 26th, 2008 11:20 am ET

I'm really convinced that the Clinton campaign is very likely going to go to a floor fight at the convention. I think they are convinced of that one thing that makes me crazy about the idea of Hillary's campaign. It is that "Its her turn" idea that makes me crazy. You don't get a turn, this is not an aristocracy, we elect a president we do not appoint one.

Having said that, I am wishing that Obama would campaign more aggressively in all the primary states. He could campaign as a general candidate but in the primary states. I think it's a HUGE mistake on the part of the Obama campaign to turn so surely to the general. I do, however strongly support Senator Obama in his quest for the presidency.

You Clintons are truly a pieces of cake. First, Hillary cried "right wing conspiracy" trying to save your lying rear end concering your affair with Monica and now you are crying "media coverup." Next we will hear that there is a left wing conspiracy against Hillary or a Democratic Party conspiracy against Hillary and a superdelegate conspiracy against Hillary, a men's conspiracy against Hillary, a Black conspiracy against Hillary, an informed and educated electorate against Hillary, and supporters turned traitors or Judas conspiracy. Poor little Hillary, so sad. Whine! Whine! Whine!

JB Fayetteville AR   May 26th, 2008 11:20 am ET

Bill,
I am sorry, but whatever respect I had left for you is now gone. A cover up? We have a system in place to nominate a presidential candidate and while flawed as it may be, it is what is in place at the current time. You and Hillary want to change the rules when it is not going your way. You were my governor and my president and I thought you were great!
Read my lips -IT IS OVER! She can't win, and you two are disgracing the Democratic Party with your quest to get Hillary elected. It is not going to happen. Please get your wife out of the race, and save your name and legacy.

E. C., Houston, Texas   May 26th, 2008 11:20 am ET

For once in his life, Bill Clinton is speaking the Truth. Never have I seen such disrespect from the Media toward Senator Clinton, and from her fellow Democratic Senators and so-called friends. Of the two candidates, she has been battered and treated as if she should not even be a candiate. Why? It's Obama who should NOT be the candidate. Obama has NO ACCOMPLISHMENTS, NO TRACK RECORD, NO LEADERSHIP ACHIEVEMENTS. Name one 'thing' that Obama has done while serving in the Senate for ONLY 3 YEARS! He wants 'Change' and does NOT KNOW HOW TO EFFECT CHANGE! If the past 3 years is any example of his work, then America does NOT need Obama……besides, the man is NOT even Qualified to be President. OBAMA HAS NO WISDOM. If Senator Clinton does NOT receive the Nomination, she should WALK AWAY FROM THE ELECTION, and let Obama and her sorry fellow Democrats tough it out for themselves! Senator Clinton should NOT lift a finger or make a speech in Obama's behalf. Senator Clinton's job is finished. Let Obama sink or swim on his own. Let the Media deal with Obama.

Bill should let his wife run her own campaign. He weakens her by his whining. She agreed not to count FL/MI. Puerto Rico can't vote in the general election. So, this is desperation on the part of the Clintons. You're the ex-President, Bill. Stay out of it, you've done enough damage to a faulty campaign.

Miguel (in the Land of Reality)   May 26th, 2008 11:20 am ET

mj - florida   May 26th, 2008 11:20 am ET

Is it a vast right-wing conspiracy?

The reason candidates were not pushed out in the past is because there was always a clear front runner and the consequences of staying in the race were negligible. By HRC staying in the race, which is a close race but one in which mathematically she cannot win without changing the rules, her supporters are becoming more and more angry at Obama and the Democratic party. This divisiveness is what was causing people to ask her to leave, not because anyone rational can think she can pull ahead of Obama.

And if you haven’t noticed, no one from the Obama camp is asking her to leave. In fact, the Obama camp has said publicly that Clinton has every right to stay in the race. Most of the rhetoric about her being asked to leave is coming from the Clinton camp.

The goal of the democratic party is to win the presidency. They cannot do that without the votes of Hillary supporters, period. A large portion of her voters are women…17 million of them. We women have sat by and watched as the media continually denigrated her chances. The DNC, along with Dean, Kennedy, Kerry, Carter and Pelosi, tried to push her out prematurely. We have watched this spectacle unfold right before our eyes, and believe me when I tell you that women are galvanized and forceful. Because of the media and DNC's betrayal, we will do everything in our power to see that Obama does not win in November. There are hard lessons to be learned in life, and this will be one of those lessons.

V. Kerr   May 26th, 2008 11:19 am ET

Slick Willy should just "shut up". Hillary is not going to win the nomination, no one I know wants to see her bring Slick Willy back to the White House. He disgraced the Office of the President..

Edie Laird   May 26th, 2008 11:19 am ET

The factual figures show Obama leading Clintion in popular votes and delegates. Don't cry Bill. Take a look on the bright side! If she is not in the White House then you can cheat till your heart's content. We only cared about your cheating because you were doing it on White House grounds and on our payroll. See there is a silver lining after all. You won't have access to our interns and we don't have to hear either one of your grating, whiney voices in and official White House capacity ever again.

I hate to say this but the polling is right?Clinton supporters mainly consist of the uneducated.Who else would vote for a campaign that's 20 million dollars in debt , yet that candidate is supposed to do a better job running the country. Then what's really DUMB is to choose the candiate who says they know nothing about the economy as a backup candidate! No wonder we ended up with G.W. Bush for 2 terms.Geezzzzz

There is already a saying: "when you cann't handle criticism and/or loss you act like Hillary Clinton!!!!!! Her opponent is stronger and his experience far ahead: he act as a grown-up. I wish the USA common sense.

Pearl   May 26th, 2008 11:19 am ET

By not counting the votes in caucus states and zero votes for Obama in Michigan, she says she is ahead in the popular vote. Same old Clinton lies. Obama will not win the general election in November if he puts her on the ticket. The Clintons have used the Democrat party for their own power and personal ambition. Can anyone else do anything in the Democratic party without fighting the Clintons? I blame the superdelegates for this travesty. Enough is enough!

ZB   May 26th, 2008 11:19 am ET

By all evidence, except the evidence, Hillary is winning. She is winning states that have the word "New" in it in larger margins than Barack. On days when it was forcasted to be cold, but remained temperate, Hillary is winning. More former Presidents named Bill or William support her, in overwhelming numbers. Winning Michigan against nobody, and winning by only 10%, proves she should be our candidate. Bill was right…. she should be the nominee…. based on all the evidence.

Dick in Sioux Falls   May 26th, 2008 11:19 am ET

Has Bill seen the current delegate count? 1969 for Obama. 1780 for Clinton, with 2025 needed for winning the nomination. Obama has received well over half the delegates won in primaries and caucuses. Since Obama was never allowed to campaign in Florida, the vote there was simply name recognition, which of course Clinton would win. She made 3 or 4 fundraising trips to Florida, and they all received local TV coverage, and strangely, they all showed their big Hillary signs. Is that not campaigning in Florida?
Hell hath no fury like the right wing church will throw at Hillary if she were the nominee. She has never been vetted at all with what they will spew in hatred toward her. I like to think I'm an adult, but even I was turned off by her regular use of the f word in the rooms and halls of the White House, when Bill was pres.

Bob   May 26th, 2008 11:19 am ET

From the beginning they have treated this election as if it were somehow divinely bestowed upon Hillary and anyone else who dared try to win was evil and taking away what was rightly hers.

I voted for the best person for our country, and he is going to win in November. Hillary can stick around as long as she wants, but she needs to stop with the divisive politics.

charles   May 26th, 2008 11:19 am ET

Whats really not talked about is that someone who is a realatively unknown senator can go against a two term former president and two term senator and the powerful Clinton machine and beat you. All this guy did was play by the rules that were put in front of him. Does he has weaknesses he needs to work on sure he does. But as democrates we should rally around him a help him win so wee don't have a third Bush term instead of using fear to take something that you have not earned. To women that have supported Hillary don't feel like this is the end you should feel like this is only the beginning start cultivating the women in politics now to be ready to make there run. Look at what happened this time and make sure you don't make the same mistakes.

Loser   May 26th, 2008 11:18 am ET

Loser, yeah that's me. I sort of wanted a Democrat to be the next president. But if you folks aren't Republicans, you are stupid. Go ahead and denigrate the candidate you didn't support. You idiots are creating bitterness that will make it a whole lot harder to elect a Democrat president. This is pitiful. If you really think John McCain is better than your candidate and the one you oppose just keep it up.

Emily   May 26th, 2008 11:18 am ET

Bill you need to get over yourself, Obama beat Hillary far and square, you and Hillary are just in so much denial, face it pack your bags and go back to the senate, you guys were in office for 8 years and you guys did well, let somebody else go in power, your guys are just to power hungery

Sandy from Orlando, FL   May 26th, 2008 11:18 am ET

Tell Senator Obama that if he wants Florida's votes in November, he better agree to count them now—not 1/2 of them—all of them—–
it's unlikely he wins in November without Florida—Gore learned THAT lesson.

Bill F   May 26th, 2008 11:18 am ET

Hello! She's losing and mathematically can't win. Any other candidate would have dropped out long ago, but the little spoiled Hillary can't take the truth. Give it up lady, geesh. If she weren't a CLINTON, they would have run her out of town and her political career as a Democrat would be over right now. The only reason the superdelegates have been PATIENT and RESPECTFUL is because she's a Clinton. They have been gracious enough to wait, even though that WAITING might cost the Democrats the general election. Once the votes are all cast on the 3rd and the Michigan and Florida delegations are seated with some smaller penatly, the superdelegates will all come out for Obama, as the winner of the most delegates and votes, and we will go from "she can't win" to "she lost." I find it hard to believe that she will play nice and be a "team player" at that point. It's all about Hillary to her. Not the country, not the party, not the little boy selling his toys for her benefit. Just Hillary.

The O   May 26th, 2008 11:18 am ET

This is disgusting now and really has been for some time now. DeeJam   May 26th, 2008 11:18 am ET

I have fond memories of Bill Clinton that have been erased by new, unfond views of him. Hillary has a right and duty to her supporters to stay in until June 3rd. However, this arguement about the popular vote doesn't work. It is very irritating how the Clinton's are trying to change the rules that were agreed upon in the offset of the race. That's a gimmick just like the gas tax holiday.
Run the race and if you come in 2nd place, don't accuse the winner of stealing it from you. Obama outstrategized you. That's all. He went after delegates and won them. If Hillary was going after popular votes, she didn't know how to play the game. That's like a basketball team trying to go after rebounds instead of baskets. It won't help you win. Stop it. Stop building up the friction between our fellow democrats. Let's unite

This guy has finally lost it. Him and his wife should be put away and locked up somewhere with keys thrown away, where noone will hear their voice again. Are they not tired of pulling out all sorts of cards, which never seem to work. Now, its the victim card.

Leo   May 26th, 2008 11:18 am ET

Yep, it is very true. Lot's of people don't want to hear that in a head to head match with McCain, Obama will lose. These people want to keep their head in the sand.

Alao Alan   May 26th, 2008 11:18 am ET

hahaha the clintons have turned from political heavy weight to clowns. expect more jokes.

Kelly   May 26th, 2008 11:18 am ET

This is just sad. Those two can't move on, can they? It's like they've lost touch with reality.

Athan   May 26th, 2008 11:18 am ET

Fact:
If one looks at the National Electoral vote by state, Hillary is WAY AHEAD.
If she does not win the nomination, we will have four more years of the same.
Go Hillary.

Marie-Claude Fischer   May 26th, 2008 11:18 am ET

I totally agree with Present Clinton. It is chocking to see how this race became a sad "gender race" not racial just plain gender. I became an American citizen to vote for Bill Clinton who got me interested in American politics. I am not so proud to be a Democrat anymore. I now consider voting for Senator McCain. I never thought I would be confronted with this.
Very sad indeed.

Mk   May 26th, 2008 11:18 am ET

Julie
The PEOPLE are deciding. She is losing but can't admit it.

Limbolew   May 26th, 2008 11:18 am ET

Bill Clinton is among the most dishonest presidents in my life time–I'm 63. Hillary Clinton is among the most dishonest flip-flopping candidates in my lifetime. They are both a disgrace to decency, honest, morality, and rising above petty selfishness. And to think that at the beginning of this campaign, I was prepared to vote for HRC.

Non-aligned   May 26th, 2008 11:17 am ET

What about the poll that said she was going to win the nomination last year? When people actually voted she lost. Another desperate card.

Debby   May 26th, 2008 11:17 am ET

Hillary has the popular vote and sure the press going to go after Hillary to keep down the questions and views about Obama..Shame he only wears the American Flag after something was said about it and his mentor Wrights views..Obama has to share same views since he been going to that church for so long..if not why he stay at that church for so long????

Dave   May 26th, 2008 11:17 am ET

It's sad that Bill is now siding with the establishment. He so resembled Obama in 92.

All the Way to Denver   May 26th, 2008 11:17 am ET

Bill Clinton is Right. The Democratic Party Establishment has been utterly undemocratic this primary season. They have tried to end the process before anyone has won. They are pushing their own agenda and it is disgusting. Obama has been trying to end it early too – probably because she has won more than a million more votes than Obama since March 1. The superdelegates should exercise their independent judgment instead of being bullied by the Obama people and media. This bandwagon mentality is scary.

If Hillary Clinton is not the nominee then I'm not supporting the Democratic ticket in November.

Sukie on the River   May 26th, 2008 11:17 am ET

The Supers can vote however they like.

And I plan to vote in November as I like, which is to write in Mrs. Clinton's name on the November ballot.

Kevin   May 26th, 2008 11:17 am ET

So, it cant be that she listened to the wrong people in her campaign, and mis-spoke more often than she would like the American people to remember. It's a conspiracy. Looking for excuses at this point is pathetic, she had everything at the start, but she was a potential liability (due to her and Bills past) from the get go, and they are blatent Opportunists. I'm actually happy she self-destructed now before she got in a back and forth with Republicans and did this "Boo-hoo" excuse crap in response to their precision personal and policy attacks. Obama keeps his cool, doesn't need to blame others, and thats why he "should be the right choice to answer the WH phone at 3am.

Nick   May 26th, 2008 11:17 am ET

When will Hillary see the damage she is causing? Is it not in her best interests to get out now? She does belong in politics and should remain so but this is just destroying her credibility. If she bowed out with grace, it will be acknowledged with praise for a hard fought campaign

karl   May 26th, 2008 11:17 am ET

Bill, time for you to resume your speaking tour and recoup the campaign funded by Hillary. You will be happier this way and so will Hillary.

j'espere   May 26th, 2008 11:17 am ET

I am beginning to really believe that Bill Clinton is showing early signs of senility. I can't take him seriously. LOL It's unfortunate to see a former president espouse such drivel and pervert the truth for political expediency. He seems even more desperate than his wife. Hence, no one can argue contrarily, that a White House with Hillary Clinton in any position would be overshadowed by the theatrics of Bill Clinton.

Mary Sue   May 26th, 2008 11:16 am ET

Wow. Now there are allegations of a cover-up in the Democratic Party? How does this allegation help unify the Democratic Party?

If general election polls, the popular vote, electoral votes or big states were the measure of who the Democratic nominee should be, those things should have been incorporated in the rules. As it is, it's the number of delegates that matter and nothing else.

I am becoming more and more convinced that the Clintons will take this all the way to the convention. I'm also convinced that the Clintons are going to lead an exodus of older white females voters to the Republican Party. There have been too many alliances with Republicans to believe otherwise.

Big D   May 26th, 2008 11:16 am ET

Bill – my opinion is that the press has been extremely respectful to Hillary and given her the benefit of the doubt over and over. And if they were a little rough on her from time to time, isn't that part of the political game that you told Obama to toughen up about? So I don't think it's appropriate to you to whine about her treatment at this point.

And I have a suggestion – if you want the Democrats to win in Nov, then there's an easy way that you personally can help make that happen. You (and Hillary) can support Obama. If the two of you are genuinely working for him, then there would be no stopping him. The only way that I can see Obama losing in Nov is if the Clinton camps works against him. Bill – here's your chance to make a difference this Nov. Help Obama win!

Brad   May 26th, 2008 11:16 am ET

Why can't this stupid jerk ever shut up and realize that folks are tired of hearing him push and bully everyone else? He needs some serious psychiatric help; Bill is Hillary's worst enemy. Bill should have been thrown out of the big chair after a long time ago.

Shane   May 26th, 2008 11:16 am ET

HE IS RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GoHillary   May 26th, 2008 11:16 am ET

Bill's right on the mark. The media bias has been outrageous against Hillary. I hope she does take the nomination she has earned it and if it goes to Obama this is one person voting for McCain!

Bill, you are..   May 26th, 2008 11:16 am ET

P A T H E T I C & L U N A T I C, SO IS YOUR WIFE!

Mark   May 26th, 2008 11:16 am ET

So this would be…..a vast left-wing conspiracy?

Maggie VT   May 26th, 2008 11:16 am ET

When people like the Clintons make statements like Hillary did you have to know they did not do it accidentally. They did it for a reason. See what the Fox people did. Clyburn said it was "beyond the pale". I hope the women of this country actually pay attention and the implications of what was said.

Chill Bill   May 26th, 2008 11:16 am ET

Bill and Hillary never cease to amaze me.with thier rhetoric. Hillary is a viable Presidential candidate and many many people respect her. How else would she have won certain states? Bill is making no sense and grasping at straws. Bottom line, Obama won a better campaign and is winning. And who exacty is pressuring the superdelagates. I think there are over 150 that have not thrown their support either way, they are respecting the process and Hillary and will more than likely pick a nominee after June 3. Bill and Hillary need some R & R.

Ak   May 26th, 2008 11:16 am ET

I think Bill Clinton has really lost his bearings and probably may be showing signs of serious mind loss. I guess the rules do not matter to the Clinton campaign, and also the fact that Mr. Obama has won more states and more delegates are irrelevant as well. Its a pity to see that the CLintons will do or say anything to win. You guys are pathetic.

CB   May 26th, 2008 11:16 am ET

When Hillary said McCain was more qualified to be President than Obama people were turned off – and the problems just kept coming after that.

Its obvious to everyone that the Clintons will do anything or say anything to win. I highly doubt that they would be pushing so hard for Florida and Michigan if she was not winning those states.

Jackie   May 26th, 2008 11:16 am ET

The only reason Hillary is remaining in the race until June 3rd is to raise additional funds. If she drops out before June 3rd, she has no way of erasing any part of her huge debt. I believe the DNC, the remaining SD’s, and the Obama camp have quietly agreed to this arrangement. So, you would think the Clintons would be grateful, maintain a little dignity, and use the last few days to unite the party. But no……They prefer to show us how sad and shameful they really are.

john   May 26th, 2008 11:16 am ET

HILLARY AND HER SUPPORTER ARE STUPID.

LOOK BILLY HAS INTERN WHO HE TAKE BENEFIT WHEN HILLARY IS OUT OF WORK.

HILLARY ALSO NEED INTERN AND IT IS NOT EVAN BAYHN OR ED RENDELL IT IS HER SUPPORTER.

OBAMA08.

mary   May 26th, 2008 11:15 am ET

"Just because you say it doesn't mean it is so." We've had to respond to Republican illogic with this rationale for years. Now Clinton is adopting it?

Jenny from Indiana   May 26th, 2008 11:15 am ET

Not treated as a respectable candidate?!?! She's been given WAY too much respect. ANYONE ELSE WOULD HAVE BEEN COUNTED OUT BY NOW. But because she was so heavily favored to win in the beginning, she's gotten about 10 chances. And in no way, shape or form is she winning any election.

The idea and notion that there is some kind of "cover up" or conspiracy just shows how low the Clinton's will go. She knows shes out, now she just has to save face.

Oh, and how can we even toy with the idea that she would make a good president. Look at how she ran her campaign! Last I checked she was $20 million in debt!!!! I mean, she hasn't paid my university for her visit yet! And somehow there are still people out there that think she would be a good president.

Wouldn't it be nice if voters were actually informed?

Who Cares   May 26th, 2008 11:15 am ET

I agree with him, the powers that be want her out because they want Obama in and if she stays in and pushes for FL and MI she may get the popular vote and then she does have a chance. If she does quit than FL and MI won't have to be counted.

STAY IN HILLARY………….OBAMA SAYS HE WANTS CHANGE THIS IS CHANGE LET'S SEE IF THIS IS LIP SERVICE FROM HIM OR HONESTY, I SEE THAT HE HAS BEEN IN FLORIDA IN THE LAST WEEK TRYING TO MAKE UP FOR HIM NOT WANTING THEIR VOTES TO COUNT WHAT A HYPRICRITE. DON'T LET THE POWERS THAT BE TELL YOU THAT YOU HAVE TO GET OUT, BECAUSE THIS IS THEIR MESS.

HILLARY OR MCCAIN 08

Richard, St. Paul, MN   May 26th, 2008 11:15 am ET

Shut up, Bill. We're all as tired of you and your manipulative rhetoric as we are of the Republicans' manipulative rhetoric. Go chill out , have a cigar somewhere, and leave the public alone will ya? Your wife is losing; deal with it.

Vp   May 26th, 2008 11:15 am ET

Fred is paid by Clintons. You can see his posts at the top of the list all the time :)

Concerned Canadian   May 26th, 2008 11:15 am ET

President Bill Clinton is absolutely 110 percent correct !!

Barack Hussein Obama and the DNC are running like they just
robbed a bank or something. Superdelegates being bullied ( probably bribed ..wouldn't surprise anyone ). All this despite the fact Hillary Clinton is the favorite among most democratic voters and Florida and Michigan is also supporting her.

Hillary Clinton in reality should be the nominee. If she is not vindicated next week….civil war in the party…convention floor…in Denver.

Beau Ward   May 26th, 2008 11:15 am ET

Why would Bill have any particular insight about winning a majority of the popular vote? In eight years he could never convince a majority of Americans to vote for him.

Coleman R. Brice, Asbury Park, NJ   May 26th, 2008 11:15 am ET

MORE CLINTON LIES! This is disgraceful behaviour from a former President of the United States of America.

BILL – NEWS FLASH – SHE IS NOT WINNING THE POPULAR VOTE.

STOP, STOP, STOP.. LYING..

A Latte Lover, Seattle, WA   May 26th, 2008 11:15 am ET

HUH??? Shame on you, Bill Clinton!!! I use to have much respect for you. Now, I'm beginning to believe you have gone over the edge, just as Hillary has. The majority of bullying being done to Super Delegates is coming from your wife's supporters, and they are not taking well to threats.

Women for Obama, 08

or

Lazy, White American's for Obama, 08

Pamela   May 26th, 2008 11:15 am ET

Clinton's always wanting to change the rules if things don't go their way. He's blowing smoke. The people don't want Hillary for president. Obama has gotten more votes. Period. There's no secret poll. Bull crap. Hillary CAN NOT draw crowds of 75,000 like in Oregon or 25,000 in Indiana. She's just not likeable and she's a liar.

McCain will win if Hillary is the nominee because people just don't want a corrupt President as the Clintons are. The world would start WW 3 with us because she would offend other countries with her lies and ill thought comments and then the next day say "oh I must have been tired when I said that." Other countries won't be so easy to win back as the deer-in-the-headlights-Clinton supporters. Oh, ok Hillary, if you say you were tired then that's ok with us. Hillary is disoriented obviously at 3 a.m. in the morning!!!!!

Allen Friedman--- Henderson, Nevada   May 26th, 2008 11:15 am ET

One important issue to know as a presidential candidate is when only a negitive can be achieved by certain actions and the Hillary candidacy is now turning into a negitive. You do not destroy your own party inorder to have personal gain! It is time to say good night Gracie!

Mary   May 26th, 2008 11:15 am ET

This man should be ashame. The only things being covered up is her lies. She tells a lie to cover a lie.

Hans-Erik Iken   May 26th, 2008 11:15 am ET

I know it is only politics but Bill knows better then to try and cover up the fact that Hillary agreed to the disqualification of the Florida and Michigan primaries.

This story about Obama and the DNC bullying Hillary out of the race is such a load of BS and it is getting very old and stale now.

The real blame lies with the state parties as Bill is well aware of. I know he is just trying to help his wife but please Bill, give the public the credit for some brains as well please and stop beating this dead horse.

This race is over and all but the most fanatical will concede that. Just because you scream foul play doesn't make it so. Hillary lost because they underestimated the Obama campaign and were not prepared for a fight beyond supertuesday. She could well have won had she not made that mistake. It was a good fight but it is over now, accept reality.

sam   May 26th, 2008 11:15 am ET

i seem to remember hillary saying during the bill clinton presidency that there was a right wing cover-up going and that they were victims then. that's always a good card to play when you aren't getting your way. by the way hillary, do you own anything else besides the same size large pant suits in every color?

sam   May 26th, 2008 11:15 am ET

Former President Bill Clinton is now showing his color , I hope P.R. South Dekota and Montana people all votes for Omaba , and end misry for Democratis party . Clintons have loss their mind , and i think we have to have medical exam.of both should be relese to public , so we know what is going on. They can not do the math, they do not understand rules, laws and procedures and they want todo thier way .He also said their daughter want to get into family business , Clinton , politically people of USA can ruin your businees any time they-want – you will not get any public speaking invitations, no one will read your and your wife books, and no other country in world will call you any more after this election- you will not make $ 100 million any more after this talk.

Good luck —–your family business will need badley

Karen in Cape Cod   May 26th, 2008 11:15 am ET

I agree with Bill Clinton, Hillary has been smeared repeatedly! I want a fighter in the White House not a smooth talker!

Connie   May 26th, 2008 11:15 am ET

Take your own advise and stop whinnnnnnning Bill. Florida allowed the Rep. to mess up the votes in 2000 and you did nothing about the votes being counted when Gore ran. Now the shoe is on the other foot and you want people to have sympathy for Hillary. We are in 2008 and again Florida has allowed the Rep. to mess up the votes again. Had you not stain the WH we would not have had to deal with 8 years of Bush. Go somewhere and sit down. You help steal Gore chances and now you want to help steal Obama chance. Go bye and island with your remaining 89 million and make Hillary Pres. and she can rule over you and C. It's OVER for the Clintons.

Al from Atlanta   May 26th, 2008 11:14 am ET

Bill——– Hillary needs to run as an Independent. A Quickpak poll shows that she easily wins a 3 way race with Obama and McCain:

Hillary 36%
McCain 30%
Obama 27%
Undec. 7%

This is the only way to stop these Democratic Party hacks from trying to run her into the ground.

RRO   May 26th, 2008 11:14 am ET

I agree, no one has been more solandored than Hilary during this nomination. Obama and all his supporters who talk about change are th ones resulting to sexist comments and intollerant behaviour.

If you don't support Obama or his ideas, according to his supporters you are biggoted, intollerant and stupid. The problem I keep having is that I want to make an informed choice. I can find lots of policies and information about Hilary's stances on issues, and see policies and plans she has. All I can find for Barrack is pretty speeches, now it makes me think who is intollerant and stupid now.

Ez   May 26th, 2008 11:14 am ET

Bill we know you are good at this remeber the defnation of is…is

RF   May 26th, 2008 11:14 am ET

The Clintons can't stand watching the chances of having a dynasty end. It is almost as though they feel entitled to the White House and that is very un-American.

Will in Richmond, VA   May 26th, 2008 11:14 am ET

WOW. How can he say this?

Never mind that before Obama put together a winning campaign, most people were expecting Hillary to waltz into the White House. Never mind that the majority of Hillary's Superdelegates pledged themselves to her BEFORE Super Tuesday. Never mind that Hillary has had the support of the press, and is being treated as if her rear end is made of gold.

Never mind any of that Bill. She is really the victim. You're absolutely right. I can totally see your logic.

carol butland   May 26th, 2008 11:14 am ET

How come Hillary Clinton wasn't one bit interested in Florida and Michigan being counted until after Super Tuesday when she realized she wasn't going to be nominated then ??

Then, all of a sudden she made a 360 degree turn around ….

I think its time Hillary… Go out with some grace and respect ….

Carol / Canada

Susan   May 26th, 2008 11:14 am ET

Paranoid much, Bill? Who is covering what up? How about you behind the scens telling Suer Delegates to hold off on their choices, or when that did not work, trying to bully them into making them ame her the V.P. nominee! You people are just plain nuts!

Marc in Quebec   May 26th, 2008 11:14 am ET

Is just that the Clintons' ego has become so large that they cannot accept the truth? The youth vote wants Obama. The educated want Obama. Minorities want Obama. The majority wants Obama.

What is there to cover-up? The fact that Hillary can't seem to be able to tell the truth? Or is it that she can't seem to be able to count properly?

Go away Bill.

Chris   May 26th, 2008 11:14 am ET

It seems like Bill is trying to cash in all those IOU's from him not being able to keep it in his pants a couple years ago. Now we have to listen to him grovel and squirm trying to get her in office. Disgraceful. There is no conspiracy. I guess it depends on what your definition of "no" is though?

Wayne   May 26th, 2008 11:14 am ET

I'm wondering with whom Bill Clinton slept with last night. Haha

Its over for your Clintons and that goes for McSame too.

Obama keep on rolling.

Herman in LA   May 26th, 2008 11:13 am ET

Bill you make me sick…

GL   May 26th, 2008 11:13 am ET

Oh My Lord……..
Now it's a"cover-up"???
How can they live with themselves?
How can they sleep at night KNOWING exactly what they're personal antics are doing to the democratic party…..all so for the sake of winning??!!
I can't stand it. WHAT country would want these 2 people in charge?
It's beyond crazy now.

Dave S   May 26th, 2008 11:13 am ET

Quit whining and leave.

Isaac   May 26th, 2008 11:13 am ET

I am SO sick of Bill making like his wife is being victimized. Are we supposed to treat her the same as other candidates, or are we supposed to give her preferential treatment? Rules are rules! As the saying goes, if she can't stand the heat, she should get out of the kitchen!

ByeBill   May 26th, 2008 11:13 am ET

Bill Clinton has become such a joke. "Did you know there's polls where she beats McCain?" without mentioning that in most of those, so does Obama (and there are plenty of polls which show Obama winning but not Hillary). Intellectual dishonesty has a new (old?) champion, and his name, not surprisingly, is Clinton.

CP in Kansas City   May 26th, 2008 11:13 am ET

It is so sickning to think some people will not vote or vote for McCain if Obama wins the nomination. Can't they see what the last 4 years have been like, and they want more of the same? That is just plain stupid!!

Gloria   May 26th, 2008 11:13 am ET

I am totally disgusted with the antics of the Clintons. And as the primary process continues to near to its end, they are becoming more vicious and desperate. Do we really want 4 years of a Clinton co-presidency? Most unfortunately, they are apparently convincing some voters to stick by them. Please, please voters—- Pay attention! After listening to Bill and Hillary, please checks the facts! I want to be proud of our next president! Obama for President!!!!!

YES WE CAN   May 26th, 2008 11:13 am ET

OH, PLEASE!!!!!

David Menifee, Ca   May 26th, 2008 11:13 am ET

Bill take a seat and do the right thing tell your wife it's over for your name sake.

Michael, an independent Canadian   May 26th, 2008 11:13 am ET

All this does is further polarize the Democrats.

I keep telling my American Democrat friends that they will have problems reuniting for the fall election. The Clintons' determination to fight to the very end will, unfortunately, create a hugh rift in the party that I firmly believe cannot be healed to win the Presidency.

The Clinton faithful are too emotionally caught up in the Democrat primaries to objectively see what is in their best interests.

AND PLEASE NOTE: The reuniting of the Democrat party after the primaries IS MORE DEPENDENT UPON HILLARY THAN BARACK. If she does not work very hard, I stress VERY HARD, to bring her followers over to Obama, the Democrat party will not reunite properly.

Isn't it ironic that the loser of the Democrat primaries ultimately controls whether the party wins the Presidency in the fall!!!!

Tyler in Raleigh, NC   May 26th, 2008 11:13 am ET

By definition, if she was the best candidate shouldn't she be winning by the rules???

Clearly she is not the best because she is broke, behind in delegates (which are what counts) and lost by almost every metric except New Clintonian Math.

This is not sexism, its not a con-spiracy, its called losing and you need to learn to do it gracefully. They use polls about the electoral college, but then reject the delegate math and use popular vote for the primaries… ITS INSANE!!!

The system is delegates and electoral college, you can't pick and choose when you use one or the other. This is not a 3rd world country or Russia when we just appoint her president because she tells us she is best…. she needs to win the actual election.

cathy   May 26th, 2008 11:13 am ET

Let me get this straight…Hillary is the victim of a vast left wing conspiracy????

The Truth   May 26th, 2008 11:13 am ET

NO Bill…..She lost because SHE LIES and she ran a terrible campaign and then you and her whine and play the race and gender cards. Truth is the American want Obama…

Looks like it is time for Hillary to get out of the kitchen, I am sure she will now have time to write another book. Now Hillary & Bill can tour the world together giving talks on how to become a millionaire,
Leave politics to Obama.

Dem in CA   May 26th, 2008 11:12 am ET

My, what a victim our poor Hillary is, huh, Bill? Just what I want, an eternal victim as president. Ah, what a winning strategy! Whine your way into office!

Oh, boo hoo hoo.

The only thing many of us Democrats out here are pushing the supers for now is to simply end this thing so Bill and Hillary will go away. Clinton(s) already lost, fair and square. It was so months ago, it will still be so months from now. Why prolong this and give them a platform to spout this endless stream of nonsense?

For God's sake, suck it up and move on.

Sue   May 26th, 2008 11:12 am ET

Bill, will you please take Hillary and go home? Do you realize that if she steals this nomination and Bush stole the election in 2000, you will have to tell us where you money comes from? Like how many millions from Iran? That the 10 mil. that you and Hillary donated to charity was to YOUR library? You two remind me of a spoiled brat that loses the ball game, but that you want mommy to make them let you hit a few more times? If this country elects John McCain, they deserve just as they get, the problem is, we all will suffer. And America, please ask for the paper ballot!!!! All of the machines are taken to the RNC to be validated! Go home Bill, please.

King in MO   May 26th, 2008 11:12 am ET

Who are "they" and "those people". Bill your trying too hard to make her look like a fighter. I understand why. The only problem is that Obama and his team are aware of this so you really have no opposition. Old politics is slowly dying in front of our eyes.

Caroline   May 26th, 2008 11:12 am ET

Actually, Bill, what it is is that not enough people LIKE your wife. In fact, just enough people HATE how she's campaigned to never give her their vote.

We might actually agree with some, even most of her positions, but we do not TRUST that she has not just said whatever she thought needed to be said to be elected.

Sorry to say BIll, but I and plenty enough other people LIKE and TRUST Barack Obama more than your wife. There is no cover up, no conspiracy, no nothing going on……..except the fact that Sen. Barack Obama is being seen as the better pick for President of the United States of America.

Stop being so bitter, Bill.

Karen   May 26th, 2008 11:12 am ET

Fear, fear and more fear. Sounds a lot like a republican. I sooo wish he would just keep to the problems of the country. He also needs to tell his wife its over. Please, Bill, give it up and move on before her political career is over. If by any chance she were to get the nomination now, the republicans or Libiterians would win. Soooo many want her out. Why not just talk to the Obama people and maybe she could be VP. Try it, it just might work!!! Don't keep doing what doesn't work!!! That is what has made Obama's champaign sooo successful!!! Change, change and more change!!!

Al   May 26th, 2008 11:11 am ET

Dear ,

Bill and Hillary come out of your halusination. Wake up from yesterday's dream, I will not vote for hillary not me alone along with me 1000 of my people , we will vote to Mc cain to defeat your wife.

Because a hallussion can not lead this country. Liar have no place in the white house

Megan in La.   May 26th, 2008 11:11 am ET

First its a vast right wing conspiracy to cover up his "sexual indiscretions" and now its, what, a left-wing conspiracy covering up poll results?

If Sen. Clinton wants to continue to make her case that she would be the best democratic nominee, then by all means let her do so. But let her and her surrogates do so using accurate and truthful means, without this kind of misleading hyperbole.

Talk about polls if you want to, but make sure to note that there as many polls showing Obama leading as Clinton. There are polls showing both get more than 270 electral votes (albeit in different ways). And general election polls five months out are pretty meaningless in anyway (just ask Bill Clinton circa 1992 when he was way down in the polls five months out).

Make your case than MI and FL should be seated. But stop blaming the Obama camp for it. Mention that your own advisor Harold Ickes was one of the people who voted to strip all the delegates. Mention that you agreed to it. Your own spokesman Terry MacAuliffe, as DNC chair, said the same thing. And for goodness sake, stop comparing an intraparty nominating contest to abolition, women's suffrage and electionin Zimbabwe. Last I heard, no one was running around beating up teachers, clergy and jailing journalists. That's how they run elections in Zimbabwe.

Try to make you case for popular vote. But do mention that you knew (and said!) that delegates were what counted not to many months ago. Mention that while you count MI and FL, you also have to discount 4 caucus states to do. Mention that winning PR doesn't mean anything because they don't vote in the general election. And do mention that your opponent wasn't even on the ballot in one of those states and you won't give him any delegates (so who's blocking allowing MI now?).

My only request for Sen. Clinton (and I would ask the same of Sen. Obama) is the campaign truthfully. If anything, such obviously misleading, half-truthful and inconsistent arguments hurt her campaign. And people don't elect people they don't trust.

Mary   May 26th, 2008 11:11 am ET

Bill said “She is winning the general election”

What? What planet is Bill on?

Last time I checked Hillary couldn’t even win the DEMs candidacy!!!

By the way, Bill & Hillary, what’s with all this whining? It wasn’t too long ago you both said “IF YOU CAN’T HANDLE THE HEAT THEN YOU GOTTA GET OUT OF THE KITCHEN!!!”

How’s them KARMA apples!!!

Karen   May 26th, 2008 11:11 am ET

Bill, this time I truly believe that you have been inhaling what you have been smoking. Don't think we or the media will fall for your smoke and mirrors. You have truly become a pathetic figure and I believe you, Carville, Penn, Wolfson and McAuliffe are the ones that have given her bad counsel and cost her the election with your dirty campaign tactics. Hillary's mistake was listening to a bunch of male advisers and should have kept Patty Solis Doyle.

Fred   May 26th, 2008 11:11 am ET

Michigan and Florida didn't follow the rules and THEY not Obama have
hurt her chances at becoming the Nominee. Bill do you think the American voters are that stupid.

If you want the votes counted then give her Florida and Obama Michigan. How's that?……I know you won't respond to the obvious will you?

Al Ware   May 26th, 2008 11:11 am ET

I have lost all respect for both of the Clintons. Do we really want that type of attitude and behavior back in the White House? The Bush's and Clinton's are one in the same. Goodbye to all of them!

Obama 08

jennym   May 26th, 2008 11:11 am ET

Hillary wants to be the "strong feminist" and the victim at the same time . Sorry — doesn't work that way. She LOST –PERIOD !!!! She fought hard but someone wins and someone loses. Now she has lost any chance to appear gracious. I think both the Clintons have destroyed whatever legacy they had left . Bubba is just plain insane.

Patrick   May 26th, 2008 11:11 am ET

So Bill says; "If you vote for her and she does well in Montana and she does well in Puerto Rico, when this is over she will be ahead in the popular vote,”

Hillary says; ""I'm very proud that as of today, I have received more votes by the people who have voted than anyone else,"

Being so close I would think the two of you could get your stories straight, as bent and manipulated as they may be.

Lately Hillary has stated; "We’re going to have to change the system by which we pick the nominees, I believe, and we are with the system we have now,”

The Clinton's, change the rules, bend the truths, and manipulate the votes if it doesn't suite you.

I'm so tired of the Clintons……….

Lorraine   May 26th, 2008 11:11 am ET

This is true. She will win. He never will. I hope and pray the superdels have the courage to say screw you to the people giving them death threats and the Republicans and liberal losers.

American needs another Clinton presidency as never before.

Tonya in Houston   May 26th, 2008 11:10 am ET

This guy is delusional…All the problems that Hillary is facing has to do with HIM and some of the things that he's said and done while campaigning for her. Why won't you just take responsibility for that Bill and stop talking about some whacky conspiracy theory!

David   May 26th, 2008 11:10 am ET

What a joke! I've just lost all respect for former Pres. Clinton! His family is NOT entitled to be President, and Hillary has actually received easier treatment from the media than she would have if she wasn't a former First Lady. All the underhanded comments from Bill and Hillary lately have shown their true, selfish colors and lack of real concern for common Americans who haven't experienced their privileged lifestyle. That is why Obama has captured the hearts of the majority. And why superdelegates are walking away from her selfish demands. I just hope Obama doesn't resort to their veiled threats and make her his VP or he will go down to defeat in November.

Sandra   May 26th, 2008 11:10 am ET

Why do the Clintons not realize everything they say "she's ahead in the popular vote" they are ignoring the caucus states, most of which were won by Obama? Cherry picking anyone?

Olivier   May 26th, 2008 11:10 am ET

Unbelievable, another low punch from the Clintons. This is sure not going to help the democrats in November… Stop it already, Obama won fair and square. Superdelegates have had 16 months to make their choice.

marylee wagerman atlanta,ga   May 26th, 2008 11:10 am ET

CNN WHY DO YOU GIVE THIS MAN PLAYTIME?

HOW MANY OTHER PRESIDENTS ACT CRAZY LIKE THIS MAN?

its over   May 26th, 2008 11:10 am ET

Bill get a grip…………………….more pandering. Why does the party have rules? So that they can be followed. Now if you break those rules you, will either be punished or penalized. Thats what happened, Florida and Michigan were penalized for the decision they took, and they knew this would happen before the primaries were held. So dont go crying over split milk now, they broke the rules and they knew the consequenses.

Robert in Albuquerque   May 26th, 2008 11:09 am ET

sad to say but most polls do show Hillary beating Obama and McCain in those states we NEED to win in the fall.

martin   May 26th, 2008 11:09 am ET

we don't elect people according to polls.you and everyone in america knows that polls are not reliable.yes,we are pressuring hillary to drop out ,or for super ds to put an end to your fantasy.the reason is ,we don't want you or your wife to say anymore racist and sexist remarks,or planting seeds in some crazy's mind.the least you can do,if your just concerned about everyone getting to vote,is to suspend your campaign, until the primaries are over.that way you can keep from saying any more party-damaging remarks.by the way,we don't want you anywhere near the white house, until you can learn to leave other woman alone, and keep your drawers zipped up.

Jane L.   May 26th, 2008 11:09 am ET

President Clinton is exactly right, and contrary to what the press would try to get us to believe, millions of people agree with him. We've never seen a candidate treated like this.

Jim   May 26th, 2008 11:09 am ET

Go Hillary. Bill is right, enough of this pusing around. Carter is just another example of how these folks are trying tp push Hillary around.

Hillary, never quit and keep fighting. Hillary is the voice of the people.

Pimacan   May 26th, 2008 11:09 am ET

I voted for Bill twice. Now that his power hungry, stop at nothing, say anything to win side come out, I see him for who he was. It's shameful that he is acting this way, but then again, he's already proved he has no shame. What kind of a woman stays married to a guy like this? A power hungry, stop at nothing, say anything to win woman with no shame.

Word on street   May 26th, 2008 11:09 am ET

Well, she was the defacto queen waiting for nomination.. Long live the Queen!!!

Oh no.. it is the caucus states, and the small sates thats preventing her nomination. Dont forget racism and sexism.

Then there was the media and citizens with some education and intellegence.

Now it is all a 'cover up'.. from the people of the United States of America….

Bill and Hill, what an entitlement mentality…

LifeLongDemocrat   May 26th, 2008 11:09 am ET

The "boys club" in the Democratic party headed by Howard Dean just could not see a woman in the top spot and had a closed door meeting to find a candidate in Barack Obama.

This will come out later. Did you see the HBO production, Recount last night? A lot goes on behind the scenes and it is not a pretty sight.

Hillary 2008/2012/2016>><!!!!!!!!!

Ernesto Lopez   May 26th, 2008 11:08 am ET

Obama has won his right to be the nominee and Clinton hasn't, he has more votes, more pledged delegates, he even achieved the majority of pledged delegates, so he deserves to be the nominee, this is a democracy, if you believe in that Bill, then shut up. And if the democrats don't win is because of your kitchen sink strategy, your support and encouragement for racism, and being such a sore losers as you are.

Ryan   May 26th, 2008 11:08 am ET

Bill Clinton just lost all my respect. Seriously? A cover up? The calls for her to drop out and for superdelegates to make up their minds have been surprisingly few, with most saying they can wait until June 3rd (after the last primary). Also, winning the general election? That doesn't happen until November, and I am sure the Clintons have learned by now that polls that are 6 months before the people actually vote aren't very accurate, seeing as if we went by those for the primaries, Clinton would have had this wrapped up months ago.

Okay, here what I think.

It's about the RFK statment being taken out of context How about something like this made by anyone made with the same type of “context” from which Clinton’s remarks are being lifted:

As commercial aviation flies all year round. I flew to Washington DC in September of 2004. Two jets flew into the Twin Towers in New York in September in 2001.

Same exact type of context. Just like the IQ test that asks “which does not fit the pattern” or “which DOES fit the pattern,” exactly what would you infer I wanted your attention focused in my in-context statement?

It's -frakking-insane. I won’t say they fool no one, just that they do not fool the ones who are not in denial. that's alot of people. Wake up the rest of you.

This is so pathetic as well as appalling. The Clinton's have to go.When will they realize that its no conspiracy…WE DON'T WANT THEM!!!!To make disrespectful and foolish remarks and to blame someone else is appalling.Senator Obama is way too polite to this terrible excuse for a family. The superdelegates need to throw the Clinton's out. They have now attempted to make our whole Nation look bad.We are not stupid Bill..she said the remarks,Obama blew them off yet again, and yet again your lying family refuses to accept responsibility for your actions. That is not electability for a President. We have had enough lying between you and Bush.

southerndem   May 26th, 2008 11:07 am ET

WAAAAAAAAH WAAAAAAAAAAH Hillary was supposed to be coronated by now. Maybe if you had kept your mouth shut your wife may have had a chance. Maybe if her campaign managed a checkbook a little better and didn't put her foot in her mouth every time she was getting some momentum, she may have won the nomination. I find it funny how so many Clinton supporters say Barack is a whiner and thin skinned, but every time Bill or Hillary open their mouth they complain about the rules or the media or supposed sexism in the race. GET OVER YOURSELVES CLINTONS , you are NOT the Democratic party and we owe you NOTHING. Because of Bills lying under oath, for which he was impeached, the Republicans won the House and Senate back(fortunately this was reversed in 2006) and put Bush in the Whitehouse. The Democratic party is moving forward with a positive agenda for the American people with or without you Hillary, so which will it be?

William   May 26th, 2008 11:07 am ET

they are a joke..

chicago chris   May 26th, 2008 11:06 am ET

good gosh. The whole Hillary camp has gone bonkers. sexism, racism, cover up, disenfranchising FL and MI then flip flopping, counting NY and CA in the electoral count that and Dem would win. I'm sick of this

Anand Khemraj   May 26th, 2008 11:06 am ET

Bill and Hilliary keeps re-writing the rules so that they can stand a chance at winning. His comments this time borders on insane. Maybe their obsession with winning is driving them insane!

brad   May 26th, 2008 11:06 am ET

Hillary is portraying herself as blindly-driven toward impossible goals, the same way she portrays the Bush administration as driving toward failed policies. She says she can deliver results, but I question whether she can do that effectively without a grasp of reality.

funny how FL and MI weren't such a big deal in the beginning of the race…back when Hillary was inevitable….

…and for all you Hillary supporters who will not vote for Obama, but instead vote for McCain…please admit that you are closet Republicans

Shelly   May 26th, 2008 11:05 am ET

I'm a staunch republican, but I like Hillary over Obama. Mr. Clinton is the biggest reason most can't wait to see her fail.

If elections were fair and the most qualified candidate was chosen, Mitt Romney would the republican nominee. Life isn't fair, the best candidates don't always win, and yes, sometimes we get the candidate we hate the most.

The past 16 years have been nothing but turmoil for the citizens because the presidential figures are so polarizing.

george donovan   May 26th, 2008 11:05 am ET

It seems to me years back Hillery was yelling and screaming that Bill was suffering from a " cover up ". This is the answer to all their problems in politics there is a right winged cover up poor clintons

Coquelicot   May 26th, 2008 11:05 am ET

That's right Bill continue to point your finger, you and the whole word know how easy for you to lie with a bold face.

Chris   May 26th, 2008 11:05 am ET

This is the argument he's touting to the superdelegates? That's rather unfortunate, because what the President is not saying is that these polls mean absolutely nothing right now. Just because one person is beating another RIGHT NOW does not mean that's going to happen in November. 5-6 Months is a long time and polls change daily. Just think of that.

Obama v McCain   May 26th, 2008 11:04 am ET

Get out of the race now so that we may unite the party!

tigerakabj   May 26th, 2008 11:04 am ET

Here we go. Round and round. When do the Billary's stop? Nobody knows. Boy I'm tired of these people.

Barack is driving these people to madness. Keep doing your thing President Obama. These 2 will be in jail soon anyway (Peter Paul v. Clinton).

Joe   May 26th, 2008 11:04 am ET

Go away Bill! First it was the race card, the sex card, and now the victim card!

Guess what? Most reasonable people have stood out of the way of the kitchen sinks you are throwing at them!

MDT   May 26th, 2008 11:04 am ET

When my son was real young (5-7 yrs old or so), and he wanted something he couldn't have, I patiently explained to him why he could not have it, and after listening for 3 or 4 minutes to my explanations, he would inevidably come out with his "BUT PLEASE!" A number of these occasions involved him wanting things that belonged to other people. Every time I see the Clintons do this, it reminds me of the conversations with my son. It seems that no matter how it is explained to them that this thing is over, they just want what they want.

pam Eugene OR   May 26th, 2008 11:02 am ET

Cody S. - Montgomery, AL   May 26th, 2008 11:01 am ET

Unfortunately Bill, and ask your friend Terry because he knows too, the Democratic Party doesn't select a nominee based on popular vote. Nor do they select the nominee based on some made-up measure of general election electoral votes.

You need to stop polarizing these crowds and start telling them that it is their duty, as Democrats, to vote for the nominee this fall.

Susan   May 26th, 2008 11:01 am ET

We think if Obama gets the democratic nominee, then McCain will win the election.

That's why we are strongely for Hillary Clinton. She can go up against McCain..

Hillary 08

robert ...tx   May 26th, 2008 11:01 am ET

who cares about your poll of polls bill just take your millions and your wife and your mistress and go away……

Kjetil   May 26th, 2008 11:01 am ET

Why dont Bill Clinton shut up? I liked him as President but now he should stop. It seems that the only thing that makes him going is too get his wife as President or his daughter as President in 8 years from now. A dynasty just like Pakistan and Sri-Lanka.

And now he talkes about that democrats would loose if not a Clinton on the top.

1. I dont belive its true, because Hillary was very unpopular and still is.
2. Should the democrats just take the one on top that is most electable or go for the one that is best for the job?
3. I hope that Obama go for the governor in Kansas or Arizona for vp and that Clinton dont get any help with her debts or get on the team for vp. She and her husband has long enoghf seen the party as a familybuisnies. Now its an and too that and the sircus that is around them all the time aswell.

Helena   May 26th, 2008 11:01 am ET

The Clinton's are both delusionial. They have become disgraceful. They need to exit with grace and dignity asap.

Barack Obama is ahead with superdelegates, has the pledged majority of delegates and the popular vote.

Julie   May 26th, 2008 11:00 am ET

Bill is right!

Let the PEOPLE decide who our next President will be. We have three more primaries to go, and let us not forget that Howard Dean won't count Florida and Michigan's votes as actual votes.

Obama will not win the general election without carrying the big, swing states that Hillary has won. Without Texas, California, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Florida, Obama will see John McCain easily win in November.

Clinton/Obama 2008: The unstoppable, deserved ticket.

Dominique   May 26th, 2008 11:00 am ET

This is disgraceful. His wife is not losing the nomination because of some vast conspiracy. She is losing the nomination because she ran an inept campaign, and she showed such a sense of entitlement and hypocrisy that many of her supporters became former supporters. As for respect, she has been shown more respect and deference than her recent words and actions warrant.

fred   May 26th, 2008 11:00 am ET

Right on Bill…if it isn't Hillary…say hello MR President McCain!!!

Jessica   May 26th, 2008 11:00 am ET

I'm sorry Bill Clinton but just like you can't tell that you had sex with an intern you also have no clue what you are talking about here. How about going back and reading the rules and how we pick a nominee again. There was no cover up when you were a racist pig here in South Carolina where you began the downhill spiral of doom for Hillary. You should have just kept your mouth shut and let her done her thing.
She would be the nominee right now if you had.
