Democrats be careful, McCain is going to reinstate the draft! Why do you think he is against the GI Bill from Sen Webb.

Anyone but that creepy old man, I hate to say it even Hillary will be enough for me though i support Obama if that is what it takes to avoid going to Iraq and Iran. We are literally going to WAR and HELL if we allow such an old mentality get into the white house. I repeat Mccain wants to bring back the draft!

Vote for Obama or go to WAR! Your choice.

Victory, victory? You have to have a war first.
The illegal invasion of a soveign country that didn't do anything to us, that never had a SINGLE terrorist link (duhhh republican morons, read a book and know middle East, you idiots might learn that the bath party rulers are from a different brand of Islam and are actually AGAINST radical Islam. Saddam was a nut job and a dictator but not a radical religious, and THERE WAS NEVER EVER any Al Quaida in Iraq !!! Get it through your thick skulls.

Duhhhh, we need to elect someone smart , intelligent for a change.
McCain is NOT SMART enough and DOESN'T NOT understand foreign policy. He is a veteran (I give him that, thank you) and fought overseas,...doesn;'t he understand jack about foreign policy.

Ron Paul was the best, but the Republican party mouth piece, aka fox news, and the rest of the ignorant hard liners right wingers never understood that...

I think its funny that everyone blames all of our problems on the Iraq war.

Wait until Obama is president- see what a liberal commie socialist will do to our country. Social security crisis? No problem, we will give health care to everyone!..... wait.... that won't work... uhhhhhhhh

I can't wait for the socialist commie libs to fall on their faces.

Senator McCain:

Define victory and once defined it cannot be achieved in this lifetime.
The "enemy" can only be contained. Quit playing the majority of the citizenry as a much of chumps.

So many "cut and run" proponents out there. Glad there weren't so many back in the 40's.

There is no question that the Bush administration blundered by attacking Iraq. Papa Bush knew that there would be a vacuum in the middle east with Sadaam removed...that's why he didn't go into Baghdad in the late stages of the first Gulf War.

To his credit, McCain was one of the first to opine on the way the war was being mishandled under Rumsfeld. That being said, he has the knowledge and courage to understand that it would be an even bigger blunder to arbitrarily pull out at this point. Conditions on the ground continue to improve and to just up and leave before our objectives of a stable Iraq are met would be destabilizing to the region and would inevitably lead to greater chaos going forward.

Personal attacks on any of the candidates for their views are immature and convey a lack of intellect. I discount the opinions of anyone who uses terms like "McLame" or "Shrillary" and belittles the service of people in elected office. People like that are the political equivalent of "armchair quarterbacks" and I have pity for their shallow views and tendency to regurgitate party soundbites.

Obama has now opened a big lead in Iowa. So he's now leading in Penn, Ohio, Virginia, California (where more that 50% dislike Hillary).
Point is, he is way electable and ready for the general. Let the lady make her farewell and prepare for GOP dirty tactics. To paraphrase the village idiot, bring them on.

The protestors do not even want to hear the man out all they care about is their agenda and no one else has the right to view their opinion. To the left they are the only ones who have freedom of speech because they do not like conflicting ideas. I guess we know what these protesters Mom and Dad injected into their bodies in college and their liberal professors have taught them well.

I don't agree with the war in Iraq. HOWEVER, many, many Americans SUPPORTED this "venture", as someone else said, because 9/11 was still so raw. The problem now is that we invaded Iraq, people are finally realizing what a lie it all was, and want to "just leave". I am not so naive that I think it is possible, although I wish it was. McCain is far from stupid, has sacrificed tremendously for our country-I do believe even his young son is now an Iraq war vet. I believe Obama is FAR from the answer to our problems, and have enough faith in McCain to give him my vote for at least the next four years.

Ok... I get the whole anti-war thing; really. There are many valid arguments. But I can't help but wonder: what's the alternative then? I'm sorry but what good does chanting "Bush lied people died" do us? Who wouldn't want to bring all the troops home; but then what? Does anyone honestly believe that will bring peace? Does anyone think that if we leave Iraq then magically the terrorists will stop? Magically iran won't go after nukes? IMHO, the alternatives are far more frightening than anything we've seen so far.

If you want to be all anti-war, fine. But until you come up with a better way to safeguard and defend our country, then that line of thinking I find entirely worthless and wholeheartedly disrespectful to our military.

Yes, this war makes sense NOT. We were in so much danger from Iraq. HECKLE AWAY FOLKS! And to you MIANNE: Your brother is the only one to find wmds because after 19 months there I didn't find one of them. You sure he was in Iraq? And for all the folks crying McCain is a war hero; As Gen. Merrill A. McPeak said "...you don't get to be a hero by getting shot down, you get to be a hero by shotting the OTHER guy down"

. We must ask ourselves as a people what is more important than bringing our sons or daughters home from Iraq, This is not a white thing, or black thing, or yellow or red. A bullet or bomb doesn't set out to kill one race of people in a war, all of our children are dying in this war and we are here in the comfort of our homes making an argument if my candidate does not win then I am voting for McCain. Remember if it is not your child or relative in Iraq, it could be if this war continues. This is so scary. They are talking of building up the Military, where do you think the young men and women are going to come from? Think about this people, and quit the childish bickering and lets do what it takes to bring our children home. No one is exempt, no one goes untouched. If you ask a serviceman or servicewoman, they are not over in Iraq divided, they need one another and we who pride ourselves on being patriotic must really seem hypocritical to those who are paying such an awesome price for a war that no one really understands why we are fighting. We all are paying enormous gas prices, food prices, and mortages and that is something we all have in common no matter where who you support. Let's stop all of this hating and rudeness and come together if not for us for our children and grandchildren. I have one son who is almost 18 and I will do whatever it takes to ensure his future, I LOVE HIM MORE THAN I DISLIKE EITHER DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE.

Never retreat, never surrender. I don't care if every soldier in Iraq is killed, we can never give up! The stakes are too high. If you want the terrorists to win - vote for Hussein Obama. If not - vote for John McCain - a real American hero.

Ron you are truly one sick puppy. I guess its not your kids getting killed is it or maybe it is and you just have the usual republican war is good mentality.

John McCain has principles and that is good. But appearing with Bush and fundraising with Bush is not going to get him a lot of applause and it is probably going to hurt his long term fundraising efforts. The problem with his campaign is he has been all over the place. He has been doing the proverbial flip-flopping. He is green but mean. He is Conservative but Moderate. He is independent but dependent on Bush. He is frugal but promotes further big spending on the war. Sorry. Take a stand that you believe in and stick to it. Or you will lose your support on all sides.

Churchill said that the weakest part of a democracy is the voters. After perusing a number of the comments on these blogs, I know he was correct. The non-thoughtful herd following behaviour demonstrated here is actually frightening. If you want to be listened to, don't call names, do research, make an argument and state facts, not opinions to support it. Think with your head, feel with your heart, don't confuse the two.

So "Body Bags McCain" still wants to continue this war until we are "victorious". I still have yet to understand by what criteria does he actually measure "victory" by. Is it by the amount of tax payer dollars that the U.S. is spending unnecessarily? Or is the number of lives that we have lost while in combat?

Then again, maybe he is trying to relieve his war days vicariously through our troops. But yet, he opposed an amendment to a G.I. Bill that would give our veterans supplemental funding for college.

SHAME ON HIM.

Democrats '08.

Elect McCain and Bush will have a 3rd term. McCain is more Hawkish than the bloody Pres and VP. He wants to deny vet benefits unless they've served at least 3 years. What if they become disabled in the first year of service? I guess they'be tough outta luck.

"American Party May 27th, 2008 1:44 pm ET
MSNBC aka Muslim State National Broadcasting Corp. is pushing this Left Wing Nut Job in Training pants that can't win the votes of anyone except his cult; The obama team is now sending Daschle to get the working man's vote, now why in this world would Obama want to send a loser like Daschle to speak to blue collar workers? He's about as blue collar as Bill Gates. Anyway, these folks won't vote for Obama. They're smarter than that. " they voted Daschle out"
.Obama is an unelectable lightweight. At least McGovern, Carter, Mondale, Dukakis, Gore and Kerry, whose footsteps Obama would soon be walking in if he successfully weasel his way into the nomination of the Democratic Party, had the experience to run a national campaign and the resume to be President of the United States.

Obama's nothing new. He's the same old story for the Democratic Party, with the comic twist that he's got a ridiculously thin resume that would be laughable if we weren't talking about losing the presidency of the United States yet again"

Wrong blog - this one's about McCain getting heckled. It's not about Barack Obama.

Wake up John McCain. How many of your rich republican supporters of the war in Iraq have served, and how many of their relatives have served? I'm so sick of their macho crap about cut and run, surrender, etc.I am not a member of your party, but being a former Airedale Navy Sailor i did respect you. Do the tough talking clowns you represent respect your military service? I don't agree with sending our service members to Iraq to be killed, and to kill others.

As a still serving veteran of 27 years I believe McCain is intolerant of any views regarding Iraq that differ from his own. He has wedged himself into the nomination with an unrealistic solution and is determined to not waiver on this issue. He has really becom pathetic and cares little for the tropps as he has systematically voted against their needs for years. The troops serve with honor now and pulling out from a misguided pre-emptive war is not surrendering. We achieved the military mission. Those who decry that we have to stay there regadless of the deaths need to put their money where their mouth is and enlist.

Is it possible for McCain to start thinking diplomacy instead of harping on fighting and winning this war as long as it takes? Hasn't it been long enough, now? It's time for some policy changes and McCain doesn't appear to be entertaining that possibility. Why he continues to follow Bush's policy in Iraq is beyond comprehension, especially, after over 70% of Americans are against this war and want to bring it to an end soonest.

"I'll never surrender in Iraq?" Never say never, John.
As in, I'll never vote for John McCain.
Ooops...that would be just like a politician...I misspoke. Allow me to correct myself. I'll not consider voting for McCain. Or Obama.
Third party please stand up!

Typical military guy-- it's all about 'victory and honor,' right? PLEASE. Put your pride aside, bring out troops home.

This will be your downfall in November McCain... America doesn't want to be at war anymore. This just shows how out of touch you are.

Ron,

You seriously need some help. "Hussein Obama"...that's a nice touch, you fear monger. I hope the good people of this country wake from their deep sleep and rise up against politicians and people like you. Only then will the true spirit of America be fully realized.

Please people, start writing to your congressmen and women. Start taking an active involvement in politics. Things will never change unless we change them.

At first, I couldn't imagine anyone voting for this guy. But then I realized that both Dem candidates want to use my hard earned tax money to bail out morons who didnt realize that house prices were inflated and ARMs and NegAm loans were a bad idea. In actuality, it'll only bail out those that have claim to these mortgages, not the borrowers. As prices CONTINUE to fall (which they will), homedebtors will continue to walk away despite whatever bailout they've received.

Call it the MBA in me but rewarding uninformed people's financial stupidity with my tax dollars when I knew prices were headed down and I needed 20% and a fixed mortgage...is just a slap in the face.

In short? I hate the war, but I don't wait a stupid bailout. IDK '08. Dems are all about helping people who can't help themselves, etc, but about 90% of these people's predicaments were built on their own greed and ignorance, not anyone/anything else. Then again, we need to get the hell out of Iraq NOW. It's a waste of time. These people were POLLED, and a majority of people want a constitution based on Islam - which, like all religions, does NOT equal democracy (or logic). So what are we going to do convince them otherwise? Give me a break. Either our government is extremely cocky to think they can counter thousands of years of beliefs, or there's another agenda. Either way, it's BS.

McCain please define victory? It's now 5 years +. A point on the GI bill? McCain with the war in Iraq and Afganistan and the deplorable conditions at Walter Reed and other bases during your tenure, and your experience being a war hero. How on earth could you argue about this bill? If you really want to show your support, then incorporate your bill with the one that just Webb has out there which includes educational benefits for family. This is what working together is all about. Our troops deserve everything the US can offer them and their families.

McCain calls himself a patriot and says no one respects the service men and women of this country more than he does, yet he is against the GI Bill put forth by Sen. Jim Webb of VA guaranteeing all military personnel full benefits after a year of service. Apparently what was good enough for McCain is not good enough for todays men and women in uniform.

McCain will turn his back on the service men and women of this country, as well as the rest of to get what he wants. TYPICAL REPUBLICAN. Hasn't the last 8 horrific years opened America's eyes???????? WAKE UP PEOPLE!
