WASHINGTON (CNN) - The Democratic Party is likely to meet rule-breaking Florida and Michigan halfway when it comes to seating their delegates at the national convention, two members of the rules committee said Wednesday.

Such a move may help Sen. Hillary Clinton close the delegate gap with front-runner Sen. Barack Obama but not overtake him, said sources familiar with party deliberations.

The sources did not want to be identified because the full committee has not yet discussed the problem or ruled on it.

I am proud to say that I voted for Hillary in the Michigan primary and I think it's a travesty that my vote may not be counted by the DNC Ways and Means Committee, as highly as the votes in other states. Obama voluntarily took his name off of the ballot – no one made him, so he doesn't deserve any delegates from Michigan. All 128 of them should go to Hillary. Hillary got 328151 votes in Michigan and 857208 votes in Florida. If you add that to her other votes, she is clearly the front runner in the popular vote. She also gains about 160 delegates on Obama, putting her within about 35 or so.

Besides all of the above, Hillary is a lot more electable than Obama. Recent head-to-head competition against McCain, shows she would beat him, but Obama would lose to him. I don't think Obama can carry Michigan, Florida and Ohio, and possibly even Pennsylvania, unless Hillary is his VP.

LOL @ Diane. I would have to agree with you on that one. I am so tired of looking at her and those pants suits.

I wonder if she will be satisfied with whatever solution the DNC comm comes up with it. Something tells me that we won't because it will not give her the advantage. It will make her closer and then she will cry and whine and will announce she will take this thing all the way to the convention.

Awesome! Maybe Democrats will decide not to disenfrancise two of the largest states in America. I think it would be pretty dumb to not find a way to count them.

Oh, but wait, wasn't a revote on the table months ago? Wait, some idiot named Obama blocked that revote. Why don't we just handicap the democrats and give McCain those states in the General Elections.

Are we still a democracy? Shouldn't every vote count. I guess you left wing nuts like Obama would love to make us a socialist country where votes don't count.

As for me, I will either write in Hillary or vote McCain.

I am a conservative democrat who votes country first, party second. No on the job training for Obama.

There isn't much we the people can say. Hillay Clinton wants to be president and she will not stop until she gets it. She believe she deserved it and she will do just about anything to get it:; and I believe she will do just about anything.

Good luck, Barack Obama and God be with you, because this will never end until Ms.Hillary gets what she wants. Believe me if it was Obama loosing, we would have heeard anything about the FL & MI delegates.

She thinks she is the best! I don't see it only the ignorants claim that they are the best and look down to others. DIdn't she said Obama will most likely loose in November. It seems she already made the plans to run again for 2012. During this time she will do anything possible to cost the election to Obama.

And s. delegates are still watching!
    loose with your own hands.

If the Supers Delegates don't finish this thing by the end of the next primaries, then we know what's going on! Don't let them bully you, Supers...lol

All of the delegates should be seated but NONE should be should be given to either candidate. These two states did not play by the rules and it should be left up to those that did. All we need is the courage from 48 men and women (Super Delegates) to put an end to this madness

One of the oldest sayings, "You can't change the rules in the 9th inning". And now Clinton supporters are demanding Obama selects her as a VP. In my best Italian voice, "FORGET ABOUT IT".

    Give it up Hillary!
Obama is ahead in every category. All votes, ballets and caucuses, delegates, super delegates, money raised, largest rally, this is a delegate race for the nomination.
Hillary will try to re-write the rules and anything to try and win.
Obama is a stronger candidate against McCain. He has a strong base of supporters and people for his cabinet. He will win the nomination.

    Hey Don...

I think what Hillary is getting at is that she can win the electoral college too! Swing states that voted her husband in office are voting for her big time too.

Why don't you just get all your info from CNN and their fairytales that Obama will re-write the electoral map.

I hear Obama supporters are smart. However, I think they lack common sense. Educated Idiots.

This Tulane Graduate will support Clinton all the way to the convention.

As long as they stick by the NDC rules. Hillary just might go down in history as the most divisive politician of all time! Goodbye to the Clintons.

Hillary won't be happy with a 50/50 split. Hillary will try to bring a huge demonstration onto the floor of the convention. Hillary will do all she can to not lose to OBAMA.

She has put the DNC even moreso in a difficult situation because she does NOT care about the Party. She only cares about HILLARY.

OBAMA is not to blame for this mess. And Hillary has made it a bigger mess than it already was.

FLA. and MICH. voters are not to blame either. AND IT IS NOT THE DNC's FAULT EITHER!!

Follow the RULES or you get put out of the game. THE DNC will seat delegates FOR THE VOTERS not Hillary, not Obama and not for the idiots who took the states out of the Primaries to begin with.

Hillary RENEGES on her previous agreement that these primaries were improper and controverted and that they would not count. Why has she FLIP-FLOPPED on this issue?

Is she guided by the public interest or self-interest?

Because she did not do her homework reading the Intelligence Report, before voting to go to WAR in Iraq (rather than tergeting Al Quada in Afghanistan, over 4,080 young Americans have died and Trillions of Dollars have been squandered in Iraq, rather than on improving MEDICARE, PHARMACARE, SCHOOLS, HIGHWAYS AND BRIDGES (remember I-35 Bridge Collapse last August in Minnesota).
    Some SOLUTION eh!

What WAR or wasteful scheme will she get America into next?

As for Florida and Michigan, Hillary promised $10M or $20M for a revote – but hasn't shown us the money – because her campaign is already $20M in debt !

"MERE WORDS" or more accurately "MERE LIES" or "MORE LIES" from Hillary! She has already squandered $190 million on her campaign to date and owes another $20M. How much more of the US taxpayers dollars should be be entrusted with? How many more American servicemen and women should have their lives jeopardized by Hillary's reckless voting – SHE DIDN'T EVEN BOTHER TO READ THE INTELLIGENCE REPORT ON HER DESK!!!

Will someone from HRC's camp please please explain to me how she can now be in favor of Florida and MI votes counting when she agreed that they would not count if they moved the primaries? How is that fair to the other 48 states that played by the rules and why is she changing her story now that she's behind? Please someone from HRC's camp explain that to me. She wasn't concerned about FL and MI when she thought she would roll on through the primary so why now?

My proposed compromise is that we allow Hillary to have the votes from Michigan and Florida if she goes back to Bosnia to give those snipers another few shots (and she has to wear a bright orange pant suit). Then of course like her favourite New York senator she can drop out of the race permanently and be idolized rather than vilified as she will be otherwise.

Hillary is disenfranchising the people who did not go out to vote, by asking for the votes in Florida and Michigan to count as is. They were told their vote wouldn’t count so they willingly stayed home, thinking the race would end on Super Tuesday as it has for years. All of a sudden Hillary says, “Gotcha, that primary actually counts.” It’s very hurtful and insulting to my relatives in Florida, that Hillary would be so self-serving.

So let's see how CNN cover the news. Once again, multiple stories about Cliton's fuzzy maths or plain lies, trying to make it as if they bear a slight ressemblance to reality. Stretching to the limit a simple mistake by Obama between two concentrations camps. And forgetting the three SDs picked up by Obama. Keep up the good work!!!

There should have never been such ridiculous rules set by the Democratic Party. Such rules in a Presidential Primary cannot be enforced. Hillary deserves the nomination because she more qualified and experienced than the clown, Obama, who doesn't seem to understand what he's about. Because he had a great uncle ...we're now supposed to believe that he supports the military? Pleeze....this guy is a real ignorant whuz.
