WASHINGTON (CNN) - The Democratic Party is likely to meet rule-breaking Florida and Michigan halfway when it comes to seating their delegates at the national convention, two members of the rules committee said Wednesday.

Such a move may help Sen. Hillary Clinton close the delegate gap with front-runner Sen. Barack Obama but not overtake him, said sources familiar with party deliberations.

The sources did not want to be identified because the full committee has not yet discussed the problem or ruled on it.

Don't you just LOVE the negative, mud-slinging Obama supporters and their sardonic posts?

That 'Change we can Believe In" doesn't appear to trickle down to the fanatic supporters.

This Hillary supporter does not trust Obama, and will not vote in the fall.
Disenfranchising millions of voters is NOT DEMOCRACY.

Funny.. Obama "mis-spoke" about an uncle liberating Auschwitz. . but little media attention on it???

But for weeks we were slapped in the face with Hillary's sniper fire comment??

This Gay Texas Democrat is looking to move to Canada!

    NEVER GIVE UP HILLARY!

Whats really funny to me you guys is this! Everyone that screams Fl and Mi should count are from neither state!

Mi & Fl hear me and hear me good! Hillary is just using you for political gain! When she's done she MIGHT visit your state in the future! Trust me, she did it to black people! In the 90's she embraced us with open arms but when she lost the Louisiana primary this year she wrote us off never to look back again! That was the turning point and reason why we vote for Barack 90%! The candidate we really wanted..abandoned us!!

Clinton wants to change the rules in the middle of the Games. How childish is she going to be? She agreed to the rules and changed her mind only after she came up short. How can she be trusted if she can't be trusted to follow the rules she signed.

THEY SHOULD REDUCE THE INFLUENCE OF EACH STATE BY 50%. THERE IS NO WAY LAW BREAKING STATES SHOULD TIP THE SCALE IN THIS ELECTION.

Sen. Clinton likes to claim she won these two states. Why does no one mention the voters who stayed home in MI and FL and did not vote because they were told the votes would not count? They believed the rules would be followed by the Party.
Who would these people have voted for? How can anyone claim that these totals are "fair" and "just" particularly when only one candidate was on the ballot in MI?

Obama only needs 48 delegates and/or superdelegates. Hillary and Bill have certainly earned themselves a new legacy for the 21st century: dirty politics, misspeaks, campaign debts, division and polization of the Democratic Party and egotistical, greedy and self-dillusional couple.

How many times is this story gonna be remixed. The delegates will be seated most likely half but will be seated. HRC will NOT overtake Obama's lead and therefore will still lose. I mean this is ridiculous at this point!

This is crazy!!! Why is this woman able to set the tone of this entire primary process? Rules are rules! end of story. Everytime we allow her campaign to get away with one thing they try something else!!!

This is not at all fair to Obama. One, he didn't campaign here. Two, he wasn't on the ballot and three.....many people didn't even bother to vote because they were told "Your vote won't count" I believe a do-over is the only fair way. Hillary would not take MI a second time around. She knows it and that is why she is pushing so hard. Go away desperate Hillary and Bill.

  18. steve for fairness

All the rules should be used fairly. The rules, however, did permit new primaries in Florida and Michigan AFTER the first 4 primaries, and thus it is unfair to the citizens of those 2 states to be disinfranchised. The only person really responisble for that is Obama because Clinton was wiling to raise the money to pay for them and he and his representatives prevented them from happening. So, Clinton was wrong to say that the initial votes should count because of her prior position and it undermines the rules as people here and elsewhere have noted, but in my view Obama has been far more disrespectful to those voters in those 2 states–who did nothing wrong– because in an effort to win the nomination he has purposefully attempted to keep them from having a meaningful voice in the selection of the party's nominee. If this happens, in the fall he will lose those 2 states as that will become an issue at least in those states and based on all of the polls to date he will lose the election if he is the nominee because of those 2 states. And if that happens, who amongst you that want to keep those states from being represented will then say that it was unfair for the citizens of those states who did nothing wrong to have rejected the Democratice nominee who prevented them from having a say in the nomination process?

Kevin, you are absolutely right…we are not in a third world country where ONLY ONE PERSON IS ON THE BALLOT AND CLAIMS VICTORY. Counting Michigan would be laughable as again, Obama was not on the ballot, Edwards was not on the ballot…you see?! What a farce...Obams's campaign may even concede Florida to appease a whining Clinton but that does not make it right ...She had a well known name and as Senator Obama said, if this was a referendum on name recognition, he would have lost. That’s what campaigning is for...to get your message out and he didn’t campaign in FL per the RULES that everyone agreed on . I don’t know how seemingly intelligent people make such ridiculous arguments to serve their cause.

My prayers will be with the DNC.

Hillary is an intelligent woman who has lost because of her own mishandling of herself, MOST of ALL! She fought her way right out of the nomination. Fighters who don't know that fighting as she has usually ends with the bully fighter out and the one who is most respectful and most honest in. THAT is why I want OBAMA for PRESIDENT. We don't need a person like Hillary who doesn't know when to stop nor shut her mouth.

Sexism has nothing to do with it. She shot herself in the foot all by herself. NOW it is time to beat the pants off McCain !!!!!

MICHIGAN DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY January 15, 2008:

    Clinton 328,151
    Uncommitted 237,762
    Kucinich 21,708
    Gravel 2,363

How can you be serious when you say "count the votes, let the people's voices in Michigan be heard" ?!?!? Do you honestly think is accurately portrays the true voice of Michigan?!?!?

Given a choice between Clinton, Kucinich, and uncommitted...... you honestly think that every democrat in Michigan took the time to show up and help Clinton defeat this mysterious "Uncommitted" candidate??

I want to try and be nice here, and try to understand where the Clinton supporters are coming from, but I just have no idea how you can actually believe the garbage that is coming out of your mouths!

Now go ahead, turn your CAPS LOCK on, and post some garbage calling him "No-bama" or saying he is unelectable, or even claim Clinton is ahead in the popular vote.....despite the actual numbers.....

DNC count all the votes, we will need those votes in November. Make Justice and let the candidate with the majority of the popular vote, win the Nomination, is that simple.
