No news here.

“Naturally the common people don’t want war. But after all, it is the
leaders of a country who determine the policy, and it’s always a
simple matter to drag people along whether it is a democracy or a
fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship.
Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of
the leaders. This is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are
being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and
for exposing the country to danger. It works the same in every
country.”
--- Hermann Goering, Hitler’s Reich Marshall, at the Nuremberg
Trials after World War II.

How anyone at all could in good conscience vote Republican this fall, is simply beyond my comprehension.

At this point, even if you don't vote Dem, it's fine. We cannot afford four more years of this. Why hasn't this administration been held accountable, Congress? Where were the impeachment hearings? Where were the trials?

Scott, Wichita..

Good people have died or have been disfigured for life on a war based on lies.

History will condem Bush...Nixon will look like a great President in comparison.

If you love this country DON'T VOTE FOR McCAIN!

Hillary supporters, don’t betray this country and the democratic party. We need a change from how this country has been run for the past 8 years. Hillary would have been a great president but Obama will be just as good or better.

Swallow your pride and realize the bigger picture. We NEED this now more than ever! Don’t divide and fall, let us stand tall and concur this political catastrophe the republicans have gotten us into.

I am truly disappointed. It is our responsibilty to vote and i dnt care who u vote 4 just vote. it is sad to see people sayin they arent gonna vote because the canidate didnt get the nomination. I would suggest looking at the campaign of the two that did when and deciding which of 1 those 2 would be the best for the country. We really need to quit with the bickering like little children and act our ages. I am a democrat and i voted for obama in the primary and i will be voting for the democratic nominee even if it is hillary.

Why don't Hillary leave the democratic party to form her own party?

She wants to decide for the leader of her party, instead of following rule that was strongly agreed upon.

Her actitdue is disgusting, the Clinton are eager to go back to the White House by all means.

If it is possible for the Clintons to buy their way into the White House they would have done just that.

It very clear that she can't win the nominee ,but yet she continues to push and criticize the leader of her party for not agreeing with her or not following Her own rules.

She doesn't take no for an answer, either she have it her way or no way. Now she is waiting for negative possibility to happen with Obama so she can steal it from Him. Is't that desparate to suggest that something negative might happen along the way and that will give her the nomination?

DNC please follow Hillary/Bill Clinton's rule so that we will have rest of mind.

Hillary have you found someone to do your dirty laundry?

AJ wrote "I am a Clinton supporter with post graduate degrees and a very good income. I will not support Obama in the fall as I do not believe that he will be good for the nation. If you want to think me an idiot, have at it. I however can articulate my objections to Obama, unlike you slack jawed mental midgets that can only walk around with stars in your eyes babbling on about hope and change and yet support a candidate that has shown no evidence of achieving either. Obama's record is long on rhetoric and short on substance."

AJ, you do not sound like someone with "post graduate degrees and a very good income."
You do not sound like a Clinton Supporter because they are blue collar guys and not "elitist and arrogant" like Obama.

Cool off and chill for McSame has your vote to take us to Iran for another 100 years-:)

This is just proof positive that there’s just too much deception in Washington. We, the American people, are in desperate need of change and soon! Hillary doesn’t offer it, plain and simple. She' s just business as usual and we DONT need that! McCain is the exact opposite of what we need to fix all the wrong bush inc has perpetrated.

Hillary supporters. Valiant effort, but the game is up. Don’t do the disservice to this country by trashing Obama. He's the best person for this country right now and the people have spoken on that!

I think few are surprised by McClellan's "revelations" about the misleading wool he was ordered to pull over the eyes of his fellow citizens. His personal motivation and timing, ahead of his new book release, are suspect at best. But that doesn't mean what he is saying isn't the truth as he sees it. What he thinks doesn't matter, though. What matters, is what Congress, the Senate, and ultimately we the American people decide to do with the information. Will they and we turn yet another blind eye? Think of the unrelenting tenacity Congress, and the Senate displayed to unseat a good president, albeit lesser man, in the so called Lewinsky affair. If Congress and the Senate fail to address the current adimnistration in a way that will justify their own political existence, I hope the American people will see it for the unforgivable cowardice it would be , and that they will make their opinions heard come election day. Will another smoking gun just be left where it is until the smoke clears? That is not the kind of representation I voted for. How about you?

McClellan has apparently offered some kind of soft defense of Bush in parts of this book, saying that he and Bush were BOTH deceived by the "advisors"..even if that is the case, is THAT the president's way of leading this country? Listening to a bunch of war-mongering, deceitful, egotistical, immoral hypocrites. Bush should take the blame for being "naive" at best, or "stupid" in the reality....
and, to the posters saying that Obama or Hillary would be worse, think!!! Anyone would have to try REALLY, REALLY hard to be worse than G.W. Bush.....

Sure politicians use propaganda, but "yes we can" is positive. Its not propaganda meant to send over 4,000 Americans to their death!! So the comparison is reaching in the extreme!! Don't use Obama's positive message with a false call to war!

If all he cared for is telling the truth, he should have published the "truth" in an op-ed or did a live TV interview.

Publishing it in a book means his goal is $$$. Clear and simple.

Propaganda?

So, then I guess all the statements made by the dems in the late '90's and even leading up to and after we went into Iraq would be propaganda too??

All dems are traitors, and should be punished for turning their backs on this country!!

It seems like everything is somehow Obama's fault or a supporter of Obama's fault. Nice try Clinton Heads!
Truth be told CNN in all their honest reporting have done little to further Obama from the get go. Even to this day. The news services are just discuised republican attacks on Obama and of course they want Clinton on the ticket they have a file about 3 feet thick on her ready to slam the woman to the ground were she to gain the nomination. As for lack of experience in the OBAMA court, I bet that was the slider they threw at Lincoln, Taft, Garfield, and many others. Truth be told we could use someone with a little common sense in the White House. Someone who acts like a human not like a banker. Hillary and her millions , whatever!! She needs a job for more money, Barack will be a good leader. You republicans need a candidate you can tell what to say and what to do or at least the Rich and Powerful can. This is America, land of the free. Not land of rules set forth by rich republicans!!! I work, I pay taxes and I vote for who I want, just like the rest of the country and if you are so thick you cant see OBAMA is who we want. No more free BONOS for Billary!!!!!!
Hillary is menapausal, like me! I know she should absolutely NOT have her finger near any RED buttons during this time in her life. Just not a good idea, what happens if she has a bad day at work, fights with Bill about Monica or Jennifer, a shot and a beer and gets the call in the middle of the night? It will be just "kill them all " thats what, she can hardly handle her out of control hubby and Peter Paul for corns sakes. Holy Buckets folks, who do you want to lead you. Someone who can think on their feet? Someone who is told what to say and like a parrot says what he is told? Or someone about to have a nervous breakdown?
Now OBAMA doesn't seem so bad does he. Common sence was a good thing when I was a child and STILL IS. Get a grip.
These false hopes about Hillary having a chance if they seat Florida and Michigan, if you went to grade school you can add. She IS NOT GOING TO GET THE NOMINATION!!!!! SHE CANT AFFORD IT NOW her money has gone into her campaign like a crazed MONOPOLY player going for broke !
I lived in Florida and saw the votes drive up and down the highway while Bush pushed to close the election. RMEMEMBER THE VOTES WERE NOT COUNTED THEN AND ALL THEY DID WAS ROLL OVER AND PLAY DEAD. Was that because the republican of choice was ahead? Is that an example of how rich republicans play the game? I think so. CNN you insult us all by not reporting the accurate numbers, or story. Why don't you quit telling your reporters what to say or has this republican thing got you by the balls too?

It only shows that even one of Bush's loyalist show how corrupt the Bush administration is...

But still, Scott, was knowingly and willingly immersed in all of the crap that was going on ---- and was a willful participate for many, many years. Perhaps this was out of loyalty....

Which makes one wonder... is Scott doing coming out like this because he sprouted a conscious, or is he thinking about the dividends of his tell-all book?

Either way, it confirms.... Bush and crew are slime.

Do this country a favor; educate yourselves before you try to vote McBushy into office!

It wouldn't have taken a rocket scientist to realize that going into Iraq to try to make them a democracy would work. What it would have taken is what only 30% of the American population has, a college education. I honestly don't think Bush would have gotten reelected if more Americans would have been knowledgeable about other cultures, something that is usually learned at a liberal arts, 4 year university and some other colleges. There are also those people who aren't college educated but read a lot about other cultures and religions, which can be just as useful, as far as understanding what's realistic.

And here we are again... Looks like the wrong person will have a good chance to become president, again, because of America's ignorants. For you Mc Cain (McBushy) fans, you go ahead and vote for that old, dusty puppet. You Christians out there, go ahead and vote for Mc Cain and watch him kill more people (including your sons and daughters) in Iraq for no reason. And don't believe that our troops are dieing for American freedom because our freedom hasn't been threaten since World War 2.

I do think Obama has something that none of the other politicians have, and that's a rich cultural background. Obama will have a better understanding of what it would take to be a good president (leader) and diplomat. Yes, our next president will also have to be a great diplomat; that's what it's going to take to get help from other countries and to reestablish a better American image in this world. Yes, this country does need help from other countries now. We need better trade deals and so on, and that might happen if our image becomes more positive.

And for you Christians out there who will always vote republican just because they seem to be Christian too, because of there feelings on abortion and whatever else, go ahead, and see how much this country will suffer if McBushy makes it in. While McBushy is killing thousands more of our troops and others for nothing, we’ll be pinching our pockets because all of the bonds (loans) that will need to be paid back to China to support a war that would cost another trillion dollars. I know the war is just a drop in the bucket compared to other financial problems, but it sure doesn't help. Who knows how much those bonds are going to cost us when they are finally paid back.

First let me say that I appreciate your taking Marv to task, there are several supporters of Mr. Obama that need to be taken to task on these blogs.

Second I disagree with the conclusion you have reached concerning Mr. Obama. While I feel that calling someone a slack jawed mental midgeet is uncalled for I would tend to use that expression on those who claim that Ms. clinton is "Short on Rhetoric and long on substance". I would point out that her "experiance" is NOT real, her 35 years includes barely 5 years in ACTUAL public service, as has been pointed out by many serving tea during treaty discussions is not the same as discussing treaties. her time in the Senate is NOT filled with very many bills written or sponsered by her. As a matter of fact Mr. Obama has sponsored more bills in his (2 year) shorter tenure in the Senate than Ms. Clinton has, including a non-partisian Nuclear non-proliferation bill. Mr. Obama's record in Illinois is actually very strong on non partisian work to reduce corruption in the legislature there. During this campaing Ms. Clinton has used EVERY misstatement by Mr. Obama in her stump speeches where as Mr. Obama has reframed (mostly) from those type attacks. he has NEVER raised her outright lies about sniper fire in Bosnia, for example, in ANY speech. This shows a higher character, one who understands that, while in this race they are opponents, they are not, in reality, on different sides. He understands that they are trying to find the one best to articulate the beliefs of the Democratic Party and that they are NOT really enemies. Ms. clinton has forgotten that, she has forgotten that this is not about her but about who is best to represent America for at least the next four years.

So in short if you would like to articulate your objections to Mr. Obama, backed up with fact (as I have done here, breifly, with my objections) and discuss this election I would live to do that with you at any time. Your attacks on the posters here, much like Ms. Clinton's attacks on Mr. Obama (IMO) seem to say that you are not willing to ahve that discussion either. Now take your PHd and use it, vote OBAMA 08. After all I am using my 21 years as an enlisted in the Navy, my degree earned while in the Navy on my "free time", my experiance managing a fast food rest., my experiance as a bricklayer, my experiance as an Engineer and Prjoect Manager and making a thoughtful decision and voting for the one candiadte, while not perfect, who is MOST LIKELY to change the way Washington is run. i am willing to take the educated chance to better things where as you appear to be too afraid to make a change to keep the lying Washington partisian politicos in power. It has failed so far why do you think it will change?
