So how is McCain WRONG that Obama doesn't really know anything about Iraq? Regardless of your opinion of McCain. Because unless you think, foolishly, that packing up ASAP is the way to go, there's still some things to do over there before the U.S. can leave.

It is a good argument for McCain cuz you cannot bring the troops home all at once. If you need to inspire, inspire the troops there to get things done quickly and come home!!!

Give it a rest, we haven't had a draft in years. Is John McCain having a Senior Moment. Oh sorry we aren't allowed to comment unless we are pro-war. What about declaring "Victory in our Efforts" and withdrawing. This isn't about failure it is about common sense. Let them pay their own way. Bush got us into it, we have to get Obama to get us out of it...John give it a rest.

Signed a former Republican now an Independent.

Barack Obama has nothing to fear because he is less likely to be harmed walking the streets of any place outside of the USA (including Iraq) than the streets of the U.S. South.

Heck, McCain would likely be better off having Barack with him in Iraq as protection!

But McCain is better off with Bill Clinton in Kazakhstan. Or Toronto, where Bill knows ladies like Belinda quite well. (Don't tell HIllary, though.)

invading Iraq was a pure stupidity.

Saddam was evil but those people need a dictator to be controlled. They are crazy; it is sad but it is the truth.

We have no business there. Why does my taxes have to help rebuild a foreign country.

I am sick of this; Obama take us our of IRAQ !!

Rebubliphiles are a dying breed and it makes me all giddy inside. Dems aren't perfect, but who in their right f-ing mind would openly claim they were a republiphile? Conservatives, get ready for a gay friendly, medical marijuana loving, no war, pro choice, Prius driving, latte drinking, diverse and green America with a fortified wall between church and state, complete with long hair and birkenstocks. Now thats heaven.

That's Obama for you---ALL TALK---NO ACTION.

Obama voted "present" over 100 times. He has no real conviction on anything other than getting elected.

Over 400 people in Chicago (his backyard) have been gunned down this year and you haven't heard a peep from him.

This is the kind of stuff you can expect from his presidency.

Hope everybody who votes Democrat remember the days the last time this Country had Democrats in control of the House-Congress and the White House!!! Unemployment 12-14%----Inflation 21 % and interest rates 16-18%. You fools who vote this way- the President doesn't make laws the House and Congress do!! We haven't built a refinery in the US since the early 70's!!!! Drill for Oil here and the price of gas will go down until the Democrats raise the tax on it to waste more. The downfall of a country is when 51% realize they can vote themselves money we are almost there -keep voting Democrat it will be sooner than you think!!

So what if he hasn't been to Iraq in more than two years. Anytime a VIP "visits" or better yet "surprise visits" the troops it is hardly a realistic picture of the way things are. All VIPs see are positives. All negatives are hidden.

Why would he need to go to Iraq

are you saying he can't count on the unambiguous reports of David Petraus

a lie is saying something that isn't true like Sniper Fire you know
confusing one Nazi death camp with Another isn't a lie i am sure the Nazi's were just horrible at Buchenwald as they were at all the others.
Tell me Nobama can you even find Germany on a map.

what will going to Iraq do

he will have 1000 troops protect them instead going after AQI that doesn't exist anymore and only existed as a franchise.

WHEN IS THE LAST TIME he has been to Afghanistan

you know where Osama Bin Laden is

Obama cannot fathom nearly the extent of what is going on in Iraq properly without visiting it and by only hearing second hand news about it.

What is so interesting is that one would think his going to Iraq would HELP him in his position...he could come back and tell how horrible it was and how he is going to save it or some other BS similar to a middle schooler promising free ice cream and soda every day.

The fact that he REFUSES to go really says something, and not that he wont give in to a "ploy", but that he is afraid what he will find will not be able to be spun in his favor for this election.

He'll ruin a country that's already going downhill.

Maybe McCain should be running for General rather than President....

If our political leaders should be military men, why are we so hard on Musharef and Castro? Why not just let the military rule?

Obama's been there once and apparently it was obvious that the situation stunk. How many times does someone have to go inorder to see that Iraq is a dumb mistake?

As McCain demonstrates, it's about judgment... You can go there multiple times and still think it's a good idea... or, like most Americans, not go once and know that it was a dumb decision.

J. McCain: "There's nothing like the smell of napalm in the morning."

Reading the posts from the radical Hillary fundamentalists makes me wonder what warped, fictional world they live in. Even after seeing comments like this from McAncient, they still want to flock to his side and support him over Obama, just because their "Entitled" one couldn't win the nomination (unless she somehow steals it with her pandering on and on about FL and MI). You "my friends", are complete and utter morons. But that's OK, because for every heartbroken, sore-loser Hillary supporter that votes for McCain, two more disenfranchised Republicans will vote for Obama.

Way to go John! Rather than explaining how you're going to win the war and not surrender, you take a few cheap shots. Do you really think that another personal visit by Obama will change his platform? He's flat out against the war and you're for the war. He doesn't need a personal visit to explain the issue from his point of view. Besides, he grilled Petreus in the Senate. He has his own policy advisors that are gearing up for his agenda should he win the presidency. Politicians always look for a cheap shot and never explain their perspective on the issues.

This is ridiculous, her mindset about votes is very confusing.

1. She wants to count the votes from Florida and Michigan who broke the rules.

2. She doesn't want to count the caucus popular votes or delegates.

She is such a hypocrite, she doesn't care about people's votes, she cares about winning the White House for her husband again, so she can further extend the Clintonian Legacy.

Mrs. Clinton,

You claim to care and want to 'count every vote', yet you don't want to include the votes from caucus states or delegates. It's the way those states vote, so are you saying that they don't count because you have lost every caucus state? It's HOW those states vote and it's appalling for you to suggest that it doesn't count because they are votes that you don't win.

McCain, U R running for President to save the people in Iraq. Why dont you run for President in Iraq? The people of this country is taking a back seat to Iraq again just like the past eight years. You R a status quo candidate and we deserve better than this. I, for one, will not vote for you. We cannot afford to have you as our next President.

Im a DEMOCRAT and what John McCain says is actually true. Obama is all for sitting down with the leaders of these countries but will not ask for a sit down with the General of our troops. Another thing I disagree with is no matter if you are against the war are not visiting would be for the TROOPS, which my brother is one, he may disagree with it but he is still over there putting his life in danger. If Obama wants to be PRESIDENT he is going to have to act like it.
HILLARY CLINTON the DEMOCRATIC or INDEPENDENT nominee.

Sen. Obama contradict himself a lot. He has no record to show.

Problem with extreme liberalism is that, for an example, people mock religion but they want to make their government a religion. They mock dooms day yet they preach global warming.

Sen. Obama quated many time "We have nothing to fear but fear itself," Franklin D. Roosevelt. Yet he is always fearful about not talking to his enemies.

Fear is a healthy thing written in our DNA for a good reason. Only bad when they become hysteria or paranoia.

Sen. Obama should go to places he doesn't want to go if he is so willing to sit and talk with his enemies.

Hillary makes better arguments against McCain.

John… shut up. Now's not the time. We Dems (and maybe Americans in general) are FREAKING ticked-off and have little patience. Scott McClellans book in conjunction with the administrations response, has some of us seeing red, and your war drum is inappropriate. That you embrace this mans policies (GWB) is beyond comprehension. That alone says that not all the dots are on your dice.

Just shut it relative to war. It's rarely the answer but usually the first option! You should go on trial along with GW, Dick, Scooter, Karl, and the other muderers in the administration.

This is politics. This is life. He who shouts the loudest gets heard regardless of the emptiness of the message. I wish McCain would try spending a week in Iraq out in the streets with the common folk.
It makes me literally ill and afraid that if we only have McSame the war monger and Barry the bore to choose from when our country is reeling from the devastation of the lies and damage of the least popular president in history, we are going to keep skidding down hill.
I am glad Hillary is making a big noise about Michigan and Florida. I hope her voice of reason and results is heard above the mindless din of two men who are out of touch, just on different ends of the spectrum.

If McCain wants to go to Iraq, let him move there and run for President of that country. He wants the american Army there for another 100 years, so he will have some supporters. Maybe.

Obama lacks experiance, judgement, and now even knowledge of world history to be President. His campaign has been the most slickest in years, while preaching new politics, they go behind Clinton's back and distort her to the media. They claimed they had no problem with Hillary's innocent remarks about RFK, a clear referance to primaries in June, but as with race..they quickly sent anything and everything to the media..Is this the new world you want..

This is no republican saying he will vote for McCain over Obama..I will not vote for Obama based on what I know. I will hopefully cast a vote for a real leader Hillary Clinton.

Sad when Gary Sinese, an actor, has been to Iraq more than Obama.

No Experiance.No Obama
