(CNN) — Puerto Rican voters appear to hold views in line with Democrats on the mainland.

According to CNN's exit polls, voters on the island rank the state of the economy as their top concern, and they overwhelmingly disapprove of the war in Iraq.

Sixty percent say the economy is the top issue, and 82 percent say they disapprove of the war in Iraq. Those numbers are nearly identical to what Democrats on the mainland have said in previous primary contests.

I must say that this is the kind of voters Hillary can attract. People whom obviously don't know any better. I was told here in the US my vote didn't count because I live in a state the was have caucuses, and then I was told that my delegates didn't count for anything. Another time Hillary said that my vote didn't count because I have an education nor was I white, hard working white voter.

So, it is likely that Hillary attracts those voters that doesn't have any of the above description I just gave. How sad.

I know you wouldn't post this. Where is your statistics on her empty promises on " Becoming voter on the general election"? See how many are honest on this issue. Every primary she goes, she has to come up with some lie and hate you can count on. PA– Bitter comment, OH–trade deal; CA and NV—drivers licence; WV and KY—Gas tax and so on. What did Obama do? he has been consistent throught out the primary. Done! If you have common sense, face the truth. She has been lying and attacking the whole time.

CNN, Please stop comparng primary and general election? Apple and orange? Duhhhh! You guys just compared Obama Vs Clinton with Bush Vs Kerry in Kanawha County, WV. If i were you, i would have compared Obama Vs Clinton with McCain Vs Huchabee. This is not general election!!! Wake up!

Best political team? Claim it by telling the truth. I am so tired of you guys.

Can you blame them (referring to the headline) the status of being an American in the world internationally today is about that or equal to the status of a felon here in America. Why would they want to be a state, of course they think the dollar is headed to financial armageddon by 09. Thanks big corporate lobbyist your to blame.

I believe it was very funny , on TV the other day she was talking with a family in Puerto Rica. The wife did not work and Hillary ask the husband about health care , he said they paid a few dollars a week. I am a retired state employee and I pay five hundred dollars a month. I just can not feel sorry for them. I believe her campaign should talk with these famlies before they put them on TV with her.

You are dominating the commentary and you are obviously anti-CLinton like your pal Jack Cafferty - here we are viewer's - another way sexism gets propagandized and you don't even know it for what it is. The sad thing is I don't even think the Schneider types know it either - it just comes so naturally.

Janet, American via Canada   June 1st, 2008 4:42 pm ET

If the citizens of Pureto Rico had the levage for the General Election, then I would say give them the opportunity to meet all the Candidates on all New s Media and get them into the Union, to vote in the General Election where it really matters.

But, only because Ex-President Bill Clintons First Lady, they only know the Headlines News and that is the only reason she will win in PR>and proves the point of issue that Senator Clinton only wants her cake and eat it, any way she can get it.

Richard   June 1st, 2008 4:40 pm ET

good lord. the clinton's just need to go away.

what hillary does in the next couple of weeks will mean the difference between having a respectable place in the senate or be destined for celebrity boxing.

Griff   June 1st, 2008 4:33 pm ET

This should be Puerto Nice, for 'Condolisa Rice' in November. She'll take it, and give it to John McCain, on a Platter. What's the Matter Dem's.. You gave you're Lady. away…. Go Indipendent Hillary!!!! Only you can stop John….

Emily   June 1st, 2008 4:29 pm ET

Then why did they give it to Hill. She can't manage her own finances. What makes them think she can run the countries.

She's got to go. She's only killing the Democratic party.

Its over for her.

A bitter mid westerner who loves guns and God   June 1st, 2008 4:27 pm ET

A great victory for USA and a great win for Hillary

There is no doubt in my mind that Hillary should be the candidate this fall,

Obomus is a loser., Hillary is a winner.

Let's go with a winner

wiser   June 1st, 2008 4:26 pm ET

The super delegates better wake up, Senator Clinton has the popular vote. If the DNC supports the popular-vote loser this will ensure a losing outcome in November.

America will not support poor judgment plus no experience! Senator Obama’s race will be a repeat of the 1972 election.

Jose   June 1st, 2008 4:01 pm ET

Obama-Webb! or Obama-Sebelius!

Observer   June 1st, 2008 3:38 pm ET

Ok, let me get this straight!

They rank the economy as number 1.. yet they vote for a person who cant run her own campaign without putting herself $20 million in debt!?

And 82% persent disapprove of the war.. yet they vote for Clinton, who voted FOR the war, as oppossed to Obama who objected to it from day one!

Oh i forget.. Clinton has been relying on stupid people throughout the campaign! Looks like it paid off for her PR.

Once Clinton Backer   June 1st, 2008 3:33 pm ET

This is why the overwhelmingly cased their votes for a women who has proven that she can not manage her own money this is what she will do for there economy….

Paul, FL   June 1st, 2008 3:31 pm ET

AND THEY VOTED FOR CLINTON?????
SHE CANT EVEN RUN HER OWN CAMPAIGN!! SHE'S OVER 20 MILION IN DEBT.. HOW COULD SHE POSSIBLY RUN OUR ECONOMY?

Sandy - PA   June 1st, 2008 3:31 pm ET

They rak the economy as the #1 issue, and yet they vote for the candidate who can't manager her finances and is $21 million in debt?
If she can't even manage her own campaign finances, how does anybody think she can manage a national budget and take care of a national economy? Clinton is a complete joke, just like her husband.

Henry   June 1st, 2008 3:30 pm ET

go Clinton '08

Tex   June 1st, 2008 3:27 pm ET

Bill, you are so funny. Who cares about this meaningless drivel about PR?

Obalegerwright   June 1st, 2008 3:21 pm ET

Obama was transparent in Puerto Rico, why can't everybody see it.
Just when you thought that it was getting crowded under that bus, Obalegerwright, has just thrown his whole church under the bus. He will do anything to win the Presidency, and I mean anything. Wonder how that will set with all those black people who were jumping up and down and cheering when Wright and Pfleger were putting down white people, this country and especially Hillary Clinton? He might lose the black vote when they realize he was using them to get to point A. He knows they (a mere 12%) cannot carry him to the White House. Wonder how Oprah feels, now that her popularity is waning? Loyality is not his forte! Anything to win is now evident, is it not?

Connie O'banyon   June 1st, 2008 3:19 pm ET

Bill,
I am so afraid of Obama. Everything I see about him is negitave, and yet, he still continues to climb. Is no one watching him, or listening to what he says?

Afraid in Texas

JC   June 1st, 2008 3:16 pm ET

Of course, Puerto Rico doesn't have to worry about anything else other than economy, which is always a depressing issue on the island.

But when the statehood or independence referendum comes up, it will take over the island for attention.

Bisola   June 1st, 2008 2:58 pm ET

Well duh, does anyone really need a poll for this?

Steve   June 1st, 2008 2:57 pm ET

The outburst yesterday by Harold Ickes was a direct threat to the super delegates…that the Clintons' are ready to burn the house down rather than conceed.
The commentary throughout the day has not even mentioned the possibility that the remaining uncommitted delegates may take great offense to that tactic of putting winning ahead of the good of the party and move even more dramaticaly to Obama Wednesday than might have been the case if Ickes/Clinton had not threatened them.

Eddie   June 1st, 2008 2:54 pm ET

Puerto Ricans have endured econimic hardships ever since Republican controlled congress spearheaded by Sen. Inhof took away the priviledges of Section 936 which for years promoted and boosted Puerto Rico's economy throughout the Caribbean and even some South American countries. Maybe it is time to bring that back to stimulate Puerto Rico's economy and boost employment.

judith knaiz   June 1st, 2008 2:54 pm ET

When Superdelegates were introduced to the voters we were surprised to learn that the final word on the electoral process belonged to them but we have since made the adjustment.

Now, the Superdelegates are determining the nominee of the democratic party! Wait a minute. Talk about the fix being in for Obama. He cannot get the majority needed to claim victory so suddenly the superdelegates are included!!!!! Talk about changing the rules once the game started. To quote Donna Brazille this is cheating.

Meg   June 1st, 2008 2:53 pm ET

Ofcourse they have to worry about their economy. They are third world country. Not part of United state states. They have been under dictator for long and Obama will change that.

Sylvia Johnsen   June 1st, 2008 2:50 pm ET

The 90′ties under Clinton, what did you not like: Peace or Prosperity?

Dynasties may worry, but rather Clinton than Kennedy who hasn't picked a Presidential winner - Ever. Kennedy went to the convention with more than a 750 delegate shortage.

The King has a Brain Tumour - Long live the Queen Elect!

Jim   June 1st, 2008 2:48 pm ET

Who cares about exit polls in PR at this stage of the game? Why don't you donate the money to a charity since PR does not matter now or in November.

Mike   June 1st, 2008 2:48 pm ET

Who cares?

Concerned reader   June 1st, 2008 2:48 pm ET

CNN, we are not impressed by your superficial exit poll analysis. Just release the polling data and let us read through it.
