(CNN) – CNN has projected that Hillary Clinton will win big in Puerto Rico. Why did she do so well there?
Two of the key reasons are her strong performance among those voters who favor statehood for Puerto Rico and her husband's popularity on the island.
According to CNN's exit polls, 60 percent of Puerto Ricans who participated in the primary favor statehood, and Clinton won 82 percent of those voters. Neither Clinton or Barack Obama have directly said they favor statehood for the island, but Clinton said earlier this week she thinks Puerto Ricans should be able to vote in the general election.
Bill Clinton's overwhelming popularity in Puerto Rico also gave the New York senator a boost. Just over 80 percent said they had a favorable view of the former president, and those voters went for Clinton by a 56 point margin, 78 percent to 22 percent. (Among the 15 percent who hold an unfavorable opinion of Bill Clinton, 76 percent voted for Obama.)

Hillary who?
CONGRATULATIONS TO HILLARY!!!
Ok, let's get real....
To put this in sports analogy terms. Hillary is like a losing playoff team, that has been getting destroyed throughout the course of a series. Now that the clock is running out, she closes the gap in the final minutes of the last game, to only lose by a more respectable margin. And this of course is because Barack (the winner), has pulled his starters out of the game.
There you have it America. The last win for Grillary Clinton. She's done!
Puerto Rico has voted for Bill and Hillary instead of the future of the Democratic Party. I respect their vote, but not their judgement.
Wow – the very last time '08 Hillary supporters will be able to celebrate anything.
The Clinton campaign is now running some stupid advertisement about her winning the popular vote? When Florida and Michigan were NOT supposed to have been counted? Hillary must think that we are all stupid.
Finally, thank you Clinton Campaign, for introducing CHAOS into future Democratic primaries. Next time, Hillary might try to seat Florida and Michigan delegates for 2012, even if they hold their primaries in 2009!!!
Hillary Holds The Keys To The White House !!!!! . She has The Most Support ( Popular Vote ) . We Have Witnessed The Obama Campaign , The DNC , And The Media StealingThe Nomination Form Hillary . Hillary is A Fighter , And So Are Her Supporters . We Will Right This Wrong , We Will Support Sen. John McCain . In The General Election !!!
McCain Is Going To Be Are Next President !!!!! .
And Democrats Like Me Are Going To Make Sure .
Obama , And The Pool Of Racist Anti – American Radicals He Swims With , Never get into Our White House .
Hillary , Or John McCain 2008
HILLARY WILL RUN AS AN INDEPENDANT IF THE DEM DONT COME THROUGH FOR HER.. AND I HOPE SHE DOES
Who cares – meaningless.
Apparently Hillary Clonton wants the legacy of spoiling a November Democratic win by Obama.
I really hope Clinton wins the nomination. Although I think Clinton and Obama are equally strong, Obama may not be able to beat McCain as old fashioned democratic whites will prefer a white to a non white in the white house.
Boooo.
Are you the only one following this? I forgot that this contest was even taking place. It doesn't matter at this point.
Clinton says Puerto Rico should be able to vote in the GE? Pure pandering. If it wants to become a state and is accepted, then it gets to vote in the GE. What part of the constitution does Clinton not understand? She will say anything to get elected.
Hey Hillary,do we get a say in the statehood question or will you ignore the American people as usual?
Can Barack use the "Clinton argument", and say that he lost because he got "outspent" 3 to 1 in Puerto Rico.
Who knew that the Puerto Ricans were so intelligent and savvy? It makes you wonder why they aren't a state. It is clear that they didn't fall for all the MSM bias in favor of Obama. Good for them!
Hillary Clinton won because REAL people want a REAL person - NOT a "phenomenon" created by Axelrod, Obama's "brain"!
You can fool some of the people all of the time, but you cannot fool all the people all of the time. Puerto Ricans see Obama for what he is, a do nothing, talk a lot about little, candidate. Write in Hillary Clinton in November.
one word: futile.
IRRELEVANT-
"Wednesday is a new day...not today, not Monday, or Tuesday. Wednesday is a new day." -Donna Brazile
After PR where is she going with it?
Meaningless!!! It's over. CNN stop trying to spin this as if she has a chance to win the Presidential nomination for POTUS – she doesn't. It's OVER. Puerto Rico will put her under the 200 countem' 200 more delegates needed to win this nomination!!!! Why don't you start declaring Obama as Montana and South Dakota's winner also??? Can you say STRAW WOMAN VICTORY??? Puerto Rico DOES NOT VOTE IN NOVEMBER – why spin the "Obama doesn't have the Latino vote" NOW - Pathetic reporting... really. What happened to TRYING TO UNITE THE DEMOCRAT SPIN FROM oh let's say, 20 hours ago after the DNC ruling?
I would like to know why all of sudden, the popular vote isnt being made a big deal from the Democrats like they did in 2000 when Gore won the popular vote and lost the election.. They have been making a big deal out of it for the last 8 years how they were robbed .... It is kind of funny how they wanted to keep Florida and Michigan out this year. I have not heard anybody mention that if Hillary wins the popular vote that she is not in fact the winner when they have been saying that for years in the case of Bush /Gore.
Clintons still have not figured out who is runing this election- he or she or maybe even their daughter !!!!! but election is almost over . Maybe someone inform them so they stop making any further demage. That would be so helpfull.
Another trouncing. The superdelegates need to pay attention if they want to win in Nov.
