Bill Clinton lashes out at Vanity Fair reporter

Bill Clinton is not happy with the way a new magazine article portrays him.

Bill Clinton is not happy with the way a new magazine article portrays him.

(CNN) - Hillary Clinton's campaign Monday apologized for "inappropriate" language used by her husband in response to a Vanity Fair article that quoted anonymous sources questioning the former president's behavior since leaving the White House. (Listen to Clinton's comments Monday.)

The article, by the magazine's national editor Todd Purdum, suggested that Bill Clinton's personality had changed since his 2004 heart bypass surgery and said that there were reports of Clinton "seeing a lot of women on the road."

Purdum quoted four former Clinton aides saying that another of his former assistants had conducted "what one of these aides called an intervention" about the reports of philandering.

A writer for the Huffington Post, Mayhill Fowler, asked Clinton on Monday what he thought "about that hatchet job somebody did on you in Vanity Fair," according to a recording of the exchange posted on the Huffington Post's Web site.

"(He's) sleazy," Clinton responded. "He's a really dishonest reporter." (Earlier: Journalist defends article slamming Bill Clinton)

The statement "he's a dishonest guy" just doesn't have much sting when it comes from Bill Clinton.

This is a man or Xpresident who committed numerous adulteries, jennifer Flowers, Paula, Monica, and many more who were afraid and stayed concealed. Is he suffering from "amnesia", that he had forgotten his affairs? His wife caused the death of Vince Foster, who was hier close friend and maybe, lover, etc. Do these people feel that some people will forget about their baggage? Hillary was a PATHOLOGICAL liar(s). She made remarks that were offensive and now they blame the news media for their LOSS. This black guy came from nowhere and was able by the power of his campaign, moved him to this level. Gee this black guy is amazing. So the Clintons really have to be frustrated. They had the best POLITICAL MACHINE and couldn't win.. The poor CLINTONS. Do we have to feel sorry for them? Life has to go on..

Oh boy, here we go again. Can we in USA put Bill and Hillary behind us and chose a fresh face in politics. Bill is a cheater. Once a cheater always a cheater. I am so glad that Hillary will not be in the white house and we do not have to hear about Bill's cheating ways.

Democrats please unite and support the nominee, Obama. Let's work to fix this country not divide us and free us from these distractions. Bill and Hillary can retire in Puerto Rico, there's lots of Spanish babes there for Bill...

Bill can certainly dish it out, but he can't take it...a sure sign of a weak insecure man. Everyone has known all along that Bill has a sleazy side, a marriage of convenience, and more skeletons in his closet than he would care to admit. Of course, he also refers to himself as a man of faith, typical that his actions and his words would be in sharp contrast to his beliefs. Bill is a victim of his own ego.
Did I mention that I actually voted for this guy..twice? fooled once, shame o you, fooled twice, shame on me.

  8. Revealing words...

It is accepted by many in the mental health field that one can learn much about the character of a person by listening to the specific attacks he/she makes on others. If this is true, Bill Clinton has recently revealed much about who he is. Coupled with his apparent inability to take any responsibility for his actions, and his constant blame of others suggests, in my opinion, a troubled soul. What he (and Senator Clinton, for that matter) refuse to see is that Americans have tired of this approach to leadership. Senator Clinton's loss to Obama was not the result of a biased or sexist media, but rather the cumulative effect of the Clinton's behavior. And whether the two of them want to admit it or not, it was Obama, not Senator Clinton, who electrified the American people and invited them into the political process - a welcome change from the entitled, power driven approach.

  9. Why NOW? . . .

Why NOW? Why not – let's say – in 2005 or 2006? Because NOW this so-called "journalist" hopes it will sell more magazines. NOW, at the eve of the primaries. NOW, when Senator Clinton has ramped up more popular votes than Obama. I smell the mole Axelrod (Obama's "brain") just around the corner - again. Just like with McClellan - remember? - at the end of the day, McClellan stated that he prefers Obama over Clinton.

Bill Clinton is right about the media's promoting their golden boy Barrack Obama, by smearing HIllary Clinton every chance they get, while excusing, spinning, suppressing or whitewashing every Obama negative.

Clinton's only mistake is that with Purdum he is too specific. As a matter of fact, ALL journalists are scumbags; as a breed, they are arrogant, manipulative, petty, narcissistic and vindictive and never let facts get in the way of a good story, their careers or their egos. They are vulgar little people, with far, far too much power. They destroy society, simply because they can.

The blogs on other topics are people pretending to be former supporters of Hillary, now for Obama are jokes. The Roe v Wade issue is a scare tatic. The Surpreme Court nominee must be approved by the Senate. They are not just appointed by the President. The only power the President has is to put their names in the basket. This whole election has been a joke. When will women get the respect they deserve? The Black men got the vote before women, so why would now be any different? American men are the biggest wimps, so affraid of a strong woman. Yet, any strong man has a strong woman by his side? Go figure??

Bill Clinton is correct. This guy is a "scumbag". He is the one that wrote this gargage. He is the one that should apologize and retract his remarks - not the Clintons!

The pot calling the kettle black.
From one scumbag to another as they say and of course we will never forget "I did not have sex with that woman, Monica Lewinsky".
Bill is attempting to misdirect us again by pointing his finger at the Right Wing conspiracy theory when he is truly his own worst enemy. If the American people fail to see this and elect Hillary Clinton for President or even add her as a Vice President, then we deserve everything we get.

i think it is clear who the "scumbag " really is. Stop talking bill.

Please lets not jump to any of this “Dream Ticket” stuff. We always seem to need to move on to the next question.

Let's just enjoy the Win and we can look at who might be a good V.P in a few days.

I would hope that no one ask them this question for a while.

"five or six blatant lies" = so which statements are the lies Bill? I notice that you conveniently leave out which are the lies. Is that because you are a womanizing deviant who is more suited to have a role in Law and Order: Special Victims Unit than in the next administration? No matter what happens in the democratic nomination, I hope Hillary boots you to the curb!

SCUMBAG is the perfect word to describe both Clintons in their egomaniacal quest for power. And we don't need a SCUMBAG vice president.... Clintons are not to be trusted.

Hmm, Crazy Uncle Bill's talking about 'things (supposedly) being done to help Obama'?

I think he should include in his list, his own response to this article in which he personally brought Whitewater back to the surface – which is something that Obama has been respectful enough to not use at any point in this primary campaign. I doubt HRC would receive the same gratice from the Republicans were she to be the democratic nominee.

Other things that have been done to "Help" Obama from this "biased" media....Wright, Pfleger, 'Bitter' comments, SNL campaigning for HRC, Florida & Michigan being pinned on him as if he caused this entire problem....Yep, BOY has it been oine sided in his favor!
