While Bush supporters are incapable of recognizing truly incompetent presidents, scholarly polls rank Carter almost identical to Republican presidents Gerald Ford and G. H. W. Bush. In spite of the uninformed screams from the 28%ers, research shows that presidential scholars do not rate Carter close to the bottom. They haven't yet included the present clown with the highest disapproval rating ever. Do some research.

Unfortunately, although Carter did a lot for human rights after his presidency, as a lifelong Democrat I have to say that his presidency wasn't too beneficial to America (certainly better than the current one though...) and this endorsement might not pull many over to Obama's side.

I am an O supporter as well.
I don't see Clinton will go away soon easily. If she can get her name on the ballot in all states, she will run as an independent. I am not sure she will win many states that way, but she will try to prove her point. She may definitely damage obama's chances (may carry New York, and some other key states). Obama will have a very tough choice to select a solid running mate for VP to overcome such a challenge. Obviously, it may have to be a woman with integrity to attract women voters. Kathleen Sebelius is good but may not have national appeal. Julie Eisenhower has no direct experience, but has been at the side of her father when he was P & VP, and has national name recognition. She is exposed to many foreign policy issues with him including China, it would be important to know what Henry Kissinger thinks of her....habib@itinst.org

Dear "Informed" voter from Florida,

I believe the honor of "worst president" goes to our current president, I mean "Emperor" George W.

If you consider yourself informed, perhaps you should reconsider your sources.

President Carter, while not having the most successful administration, governed the country during incredibly difficult times and will always be remembered for bringing Egypt and Israel to the peace table. The man is a Nobel Peace Prize winner.

President Bush II will be remembered for a failed foreign policy, failed economics, failed domestic policies like Katrina, ethics violations, and supporting corporate greed. Perhaps if we are lucky, he will not be remembered at all.

Carter's endorsement of Obama is just icing on the cake, but the icing is oh so wonderfully sweet!

My time will come in Nov.

Jimmy Carter is hardly the worst president we've ever had, there are several who have greater claim to that title, including the man in the White House as we speak. No, this endorsement is not exaclty earth-shattering news, but it is consistent with the trend over the last 24 hours, that being undeclared superdelegates coming out for Barack Obama. This historic nomination race is almost over, and I will miss the drama, but as exciting as it has been, we've really been wasting precious time; now we must get to work on the general election campaign, and take no vote for granted.

What a good year this has and will be. I'd like to thank Senators Clinton and Obama for the millions of dollars they have taken from liberals and spent on our nation's economy. The only way to top off seeing Clinton lose in June and Obama lose in November is that if Clinton runs as VP and they BOTH lose in November.

I'm from Illinois and I have not seen Obama produce anything significant in this state that is bipartisan. His elections here were shoe-ins. His naivety is evident in his foreign policy pilosophy and his view of racial equality.

This good country will see through him easily this election and there is no way he can get elected. He is effective at self-promotion for sure but not sure what experience he could glean from his past that will qualify him to lead our country. He should spend about 20 years in local politics and get some experience in something other than reading speeches like actually DOING something and then, maybe, he might have a chance at running for President. But wait, I just remembered that Michelle warned the country that this may be our, "only chance" to elect him. Oh no! Talk about an attitude of entitlement.

He is still popular in the Middle East and has been successful in negotiating some the world's most difficult treaties.
