i have followed the democratic primaries very closely.I would have been the first to scream that Hillary should not be on the ticket with Obama becos of all she said and did against him during the nominating process but as i have noticed in states like Kentucky and West Virginia,people dont vote based on the facts or the truth but on frivolties like race,gender and the like and therefore may be wise to get votes from those quarters by putting her on the ticket.There is no other plausible reason to do so.

It would be a big mistake for Obama to offer Clinton the Vice Presidency position. During the 1992 campaign, Bill Clinton had said repeatedly (with his wife nodding behind him) that if elected, the country would get two for the price one. Hillary was co-president from 1993-2001, indeed. She was in charge of the administration's most important policy, health care and later battling the "right wing conspiracy" against her husband. For the other member of the duo, Bill Clinton, Hillary’s Vice Presidency means the opportunity to be co-president again. The husband and wife political team will interfere in presidential politics and policy, making it impossible for Obama to do what he wants as president. Additionally, Hillary will add little strategic depth to campaign. She is not from a battleground state and will bring with her not only her self inflicted and divisive wounds of the primary but also the old Clinton problems: White Water, Bill's insatiable appetite for playing the field, their support for middle of the road band aid solutions for a country facing deep domestic and international problems. If she hopes to have any future in the Senate as a Democrat, it is best for her to only campaign for Obama and, perhaps later, work with Obama as Senate's majority leader. Every Democrat knew that this was going to happen, which is exactly why many people wanted Senator Clinton to tone down her campaign. Unfortunately, because she was determined to fight on, Senator Clinton may have done some damage to herself.

This is exactly why she should not get the offer from Obama as VP running mate.

She did everything to politically destroy him and doesn't deserve the opportunity. She and Bill will continue to bash him given the opportunity with the hope that eventually she would get the Presidency by any means necessary.

Obama has been smart throughout this race. I think he will be smart enough to see this and not give her this opportunity no matter how much she pressures him. There are too many other good choices he could make for a runningmate that doesn't include the baggage and problems the Clintons' bring with them.
