The RNC posted this video on YouTube.

NEW YORK (CNN) – Hours before the polls closed Tuesday in the final two Democratic presidential primaries, the Republican National Committee began circulating a video of Hillary Clinton questioning Barack Obama’s qualifications to be commander-in-chief, and acknowledging John McCain has this important presidential credential.

“Senator McCain will bring a lifetime of experience to the campaign, I will bring a lifetime of experience and Senator Obama will bring a speech that he gave in 2002,” Clinton says in the one-minute video of CNN’s coverage of a news conference she held on March 8 – the day Obama won the Wyoming caucuses. “I think that is a significant difference. I think that since we now know Senator McCain will be the nominee for the Republican Party, national security will be front and center in this election. We all know that.

"And I think it is imperative that each of us be able to demonstrate we can cross the commander-in-chief threshold. And I believe I have done that. Certainly, Senator McCain has done that. And you will have to ask Senator Obama with respect to his candidacy.”

The RNC posted the video on YouTube early Tuesday afternoon, just as Obama was on the verge of locking up the Democratic nomination and speculation heated up about Clinton being his running mate.

Tonight, South Dakota and Montana Democrats hold the final two contests of the primary season. Obama is expected to secure the support of enough delegates to claim the party’s presidential nomination as early as tonight, and but no later than the end of this week.

An RNC official tells CNN to expect to see more of Republicans highlighting Clinton’s critical comments of Obama as the campaign now turns to the general election phase.

“We will use it repeatedly,” the official said.

The majority of the country says Hillary is not trustworthy. Her entire adult life is a disgrace. Check the records. If she is on the ticket the Democrats will lose.

Keifer S.   June 3rd, 2008 8:04 pm ET

Tyler, you are right on. The only VP slot she could earn is with Johhny McBush. If she wishes to be honorable and wants to serve the American people, she would gratefully accept a top-level cabinet post in Obama's administration. She would prove she is fit for the job by campaigning every day with Obama in the general election.

Perry   June 3rd, 2008 8:02 pm ET

"we can always rise to the occasion when thew good of the country is at stake."

Since when? We've had 2 presidents in 40 years.

Francis, Hawaii   June 3rd, 2008 7:55 pm ET

First things first! Round up all your supporters and get them to vote for Obama even if you are not on the ticket! Or is this another of your manipulations to get on the ticket? You should think of your Party first, not for yourself. Be sincere and honest for a change.

think people   June 3rd, 2008 7:55 pm ET

Don't do it, Obama. Those who are so immature and bitter that they are switching allegiance will switch regardless. Don't compromise your vision and allow these power-hungry backstabbers into your cabinet.

The irony is, if you read these posts, you can really get a chuckle out of all the whining about "mean Obama supporters." There is plenty of vitriol on both sides. But for what is really RELEVANT, The CANDIDATES, HIllary threw Obama under the bus time and again, whereas he showed incredible restraint. But of course, these people's disappointment/venom/stupidity/whatever clouds their ability to see that truth.

Some people will just see what they want to see, regardless.

MAG   June 3rd, 2008 7:52 pm ET

See, a lot of people said she was going to hurt the dems and help the reps. No surprise here. McCain is all nicey nice yesterday about Clinton and defending her, now he's using her every word. How's she going to get herself out of this mess if she's going to support Obama 100% as she said she would? I hope someone on one of the campaigns has a good line for her. Only problem is can she make it believeable?

Tyler in Raleigh, NC   June 3rd, 2008 7:51 pm ET

This is why the Clintons are no better than the Republicans, and she has a better chance of being McCain's VP.

Brianna   June 3rd, 2008 7:44 pm ET

I've been screaming about how she tried to take down i(n a very damaging way for months), a fellow Democrat. Thanks Hillary. Once again, Hillary fanatics, IT'S NOT ABOUT BEING A WOMAN OR SEXIST OR BLAH, BLAH, BLAH!

And don't ever forget – SHE VOTED FOR THE WAR! Again thanks for nothing Hill.

Pistoff   June 3rd, 2008 7:42 pm ET

HRC = DIVIDER.

LOL   June 3rd, 2008 7:41 pm ET

What are you Obama lovers going to think when its a McCain/Clinton ticket? You guys do realize Obama could never in a million years win that contest? LOL!

cildawg1   June 3rd, 2008 7:39 pm ET

If the Republicans are posting this now, it's because they believe that and Obama/Clinton ticket is unstoppable. Why else would they start playing this at this time. They don't want Hillary on the ticket.

Vic   June 3rd, 2008 7:38 pm ET

USAF Staff Sergeant~

Let's be clear on this, Barack Obama has more experience in elected office than Hillary Clinton. And he's done more in his shorter time in the Senate as well. Misinformation is not our friend.

catty   June 3rd, 2008 7:35 pm ET

If this anyway damages HIS CHANCES his chances in the general election I hope all his supporters remember in 2012 when she tries again...MAKE HER PAY!!! She ran as a repugnican and should go over there now.

Cindy   June 3rd, 2008 7:31 pm ET

Who better to answer this than Hillary herself. She caused the damage; she needs to fix it. I'm sure she can do it. I'm sure she will do it.

frank Honolulu HI   June 3rd, 2008 7:26 pm ET

Republicans are shaking in their collective boots. I hope they're looking forward to the next 12 years of Democratic leadership. They (republicans) haven't the foggiest idea why their morals and standards are upside down. They're blinded by themselves. They spend so much time trying to defend themselves that they have no time to reflect on whether they are right or wrong or how to improve themselves. Until they do they will be the in the minority.

Pat M   June 3rd, 2008 7:22 pm ET

Harry C I sure hope your right as if your wrong it will be the Nation going down not McCain and the people will go down with him. Just like they've went down currently with Bush!

What are these people who are stating they will vote for McCain thinking????? They must love War!

Bitter Tommy Hussein in St. Louis   June 3rd, 2008 7:21 pm ET

Hillary herself is a Judas.

Tired of Hillary   June 3rd, 2008 7:09 pm ET

This is exactly what Hillary wanted. She wanted to damage Obama enough so he couldn't be elected. Hillary your hand has been exposed and you....will never see the White House again (except maybe in some of your old photos)...you have burned too many bridges and guess what REAL DEMS HAVE REAL LONG MEMORIES AND WE CARRY GRUDGES!!!!

Words of Caution   June 3rd, 2008 7:08 pm ET

Why do you think Karl Rove was encouraging Hillary so much? Get a clue folks, Hillary was the Republicans first choice as Democratic Nominee. She will be poison on any Democratic ticket. Make her Health Secretary or a Supreme Court Judge or a limitless supply of Hillary fundraisers, but not VP!

Donovan   June 3rd, 2008 7:08 pm ET

Sure is going to make it tough as a VP. Hillary go back to NY,
wait 4 years and run again.

Antoinette from New Carrollton, MD   June 3rd, 2008 7:03 pm ET

This is still open for commentary i see

Look how Clinton just gave the repubs fuel to use against Obama and she wants to be the VP??? Are u serious???

They'll throw that at them both in the general and she cant go back on her statement now, because then she will be a hipocrite and she will make Obama look bad

No VP for her

LIAR LIAR LIar   June 3rd, 2008 5:54 pm ET

HILLARY, Miss experience, NOT!!!

Maybe she can join John McCain on a ticket...

OBAMA/Richardson 08

Harry C   June 3rd, 2008 5:26 pm ET

These Idiots in the RNC are backing a REAL LOSER! McCain has no idea of what he speaks... All he can talk about is Iraq and Iran; whatever happened to Afganstan???? OBAMA is still running around. He admits he knows nothing about the Economy even Cheney disagrees with this Fuel tax refund plan...I go on record as saying that this Novemeber you will see McCain go down to defeat in one of the biggest defeats in political history, I will be surprised if he gets over 30% of the popular vote...

Dave Nittel   June 3rd, 2008 5:25 pm ET

This video might be very damaging to Mr Obama... IF Hillary Clinton had any credibility on any matter. Fortunately, at this point, she no longer does.

Disappointed   June 3rd, 2008 5:25 pm ET

NO NO NOOOOOO How can you change Washington with the Clintons there? Get Bill out of town and let Hillary languish in the Senate. No No No

MP-Pennsylvania   June 3rd, 2008 5:25 pm ET

Hillary gave ammunition to RNC. And that's all they have. But if Hillary in the ticket, RNC will have whole lot starting from Bills' behavior, white water, Peter paul, Bill lobbying for Dubai in port deal, Bill's library contributions, Hillary's bias towards PLO etc etc...

That' why Hillary should not be on the ticket.

Also her behavior is totally opposite, so Obama cannot claim what ever principles he stand for with such a running mate. Those who promote Hillary for VP is helping McCain's win.

Hillary for Queen   June 3rd, 2008 5:25 pm ET

Anastasia   June 3rd, 2008 5:25 pm ET

This media foray has been such a travesty; sexist, unfair, undemocratic...I even found it difficult to find a place to blog...they are trying to convince America Hillary is finished, when she has said she will not concede. Hillary fans DO NOT LISTEN TO THE MEDIA..vote your conscience. They are terrified of her fantastic showing to day...so far a tie in Montana and 60% of the vote in South Dakota..the DNC knows Obama is a weak candidate without Hillary and the republicans do not want her as president because she can beat McCain; that is why so many McCain voters voted for Obama. She will make an incredible showing tonight, diplaying her popular votes and strengths...Let's not sop the momentum...they're terrified. VOTE FOR HILLARY!!!

Jackson   June 3rd, 2008 5:24 pm ET

Sigh, I can't believe people don't see what the republicans are doing. They released this video because they know they will have hard time competing against Obama/Hillary.

Lindsay   June 3rd, 2008 5:24 pm ET

AMEN to all of you who have pointed out that this is a PERFECT example of why Clinton is not a good candidate for VP.

Bert   June 3rd, 2008 5:14 pm ET

I hope he makes a better choice for VP than HRC. At this point in time we really need a President with the strength to pick who he really feels would be the best choice and not give in to people who feel they are entitled to it just b/c of the color of her skin.

yns   June 3rd, 2008 5:13 pm ET

Hillary is absolutely right!

dan   June 3rd, 2008 5:13 pm ET

you 17 million hilliary supporters who are going to cross over to McCain to destroy Obama chances. If you are successful, please dont think us 17 million obama supporters will forget that in 2012 when we all unite to destroy Hilliary chances.

What goes around comes around, enjoy!

Is This Over Yet?   June 3rd, 2008 5:11 pm ET

What goes around will come around. Good job Hillary.I don't believe Hillary should be on the ticket with OBAMA. She and Bill are the reason the republicans have picked up the idea Obama can't win in November. I don't think her supporters who said they would never vote for Obama ever planned to vote democrat.

sam in london   June 3rd, 2008 5:00 pm ET

i have followed the democratic primaries very closely.I would have been the first to scream that Hillary should not be on the ticket with Obama becos of all she said and did against him during the nominating process but as i have noticed in states like Kentucky and West Virginia, people dont vote based on the facts or the truth but on frivolties like race, gender and the like and therefore may be wise to get votes from those quarters by putting her on the ticket. There is no other plausible reason to do so.

Gary of El Centro, Ca   June 3rd, 2008 5:00 pm ET

Looks like the chickens are coming home to roost, Hillary, thanks so much!

Craig   June 3rd, 2008 5:00 pm ET

Well gosh, maybe she should have openly praised Obama for all his shortcomings (of which he has many). What was she supposed to do? It was a competition. You Obamites act like she should have never been critical of the fact that he has such a thin record on....anything....

I'm glad the RNC is going to use her words, since they are completely accurate. This will open the door for her to come back and trounce McCain in four years....

Craig

Young African American Male for Hillary   June 3rd, 2008 4:59 pm ET

This is why Hillary has to be the VP. I won't vote for Obama if Hillary is not on the ticket and I am not alone. Arrogant Obama supporters are acting as if he can win the presidency without Hillary. He can't. How quickly we forget Walter Mondale. They both have energized different constituents and our base is stronger but if Obama goes at it alone he will lose. History has shown us that rivals can unite in the end for party unity and Hillary and Obama can do just that. I will stay home if Hillary is not on the ticket. I won't vote for McCain but I won't give my vote to Obama either.

fairandstraight   June 3rd, 2008 4:58 pm ET

That won't work. All the DNC have to do is keep playing the words of McCain, "maybe 100." They have a weak candidate that expects to win the white house on the sympathy of him being a POW. Well, I think after finding him a millionare as a wife and being very well off himself, the US owes him nothing more.

This is being spinned to try to influence the superdelegates to give Hillary the nomination. It won't work!!!!

BARAKFORLIFE   June 3rd, 2008 4:58 pm ET

Bam Bam would be CRAZY to add Sillary to his ticket. She is no friends of the Obama Camo and would do violence to his message of change. It's time for HillBilly to go home and reflect on her 6 months campaign adn the rest of her career. BUH HYE baby!

Holly   June 3rd, 2008 4:58 pm ET

saw that one coming

Agree with Farhad   June 3rd, 2008 4:58 pm ET

You are so right. Having Hillary and Bill in the White House will bring alot of the old drama back; White Water, Bill's wandering hands and eyes... and not to mention all the interviews Hillary would have to give to explain why she would run with someone she discounted as President. There alot of VP candidates out there – Edwards, or Richardson – An African American and Hispanic ticket – WOW!

Instead of complaining about it, maybe this is a good thing – perhaps the RNC's plan will backfire and push Hillary supporters (at least the ones who aren't closet Republicans) back to voting for Obama...

Anson   June 3rd, 2008 4:51 pm ET

That's more than ENOUGH reason why she cannot be Obama's VP.

That artical says it all.

Joe Reg   June 3rd, 2008 4:51 pm ET

Obama/Clinton.

DISSAPOINTED IN OUR SYSTEM   June 3rd, 2008 4:50 pm ET

HAS ANYONE ASKED THE QUESTION OUT THERE WHY DID WE ALL GO OUT TO VOTE IN THE PRIMARY??? SERIOUSLY. WHY? WE DID NOT PICK THE CANDIDATE YOU PEOPLE FOR OBAMA SHOULD FEEL DISENFRANCHISED TOO. THERES NO LIGITIMCY TO HIS NOMINATION. A BUNCH OF HOOKED UP SUPER DELEGATES MADE THIS DECISION, NOT US. THIS WAS A BACK ROOM DECISION, ITS BEEN OBVIOUS FROM THE BEGINING, BUT SERIOUSLY I FEEL DISENFRANCHISED, BUT I AM FROM FLORIDA, WE ALWAYS FEEL THAT WAY HERE. BUT OUR VOICES WERE NOT HEARD AND OUR VOTES NOT COUNTED. ANYONE UPSET ABOUT THAT? WE NEED TO TAKE OUR GOVERNMENT AND RETURN IT TO THE PEOPLE. FAIRLY.

Cold Hard Truth   June 3rd, 2008 4:50 pm ET

Sorry Joyce, you are dead wrong. Hillary is 100% to blame. had she simply touted her experience and not lumped in McCain's this would not have the same effect. But because she did we are now seeing the fruits of her misguided labor.

Absolutely NO to a VP spot for Clinton.

Concerned   June 3rd, 2008 4:49 pm ET

IT WOULD MAKE ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE TO MAKE HER THE VP CANDIDATE. SHE IS DESTRUCTIVE. HE SPOUSE IS UNCONTROLALBE. BESIDES, WHO NEEDS TWO PRESIDENTS AND ANOTHER ASPIRING TO BE PRESIDENT IN ONE ADMINISTRATION? BE SMART OBAMA, KEEP SEARCHING. I'M CERTAIN A MORE VIABLE CANDIDATE IS OUT THERE. JOHN EDWARDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glenn   June 3rd, 2008 4:45 pm ET

McCain is an idiot! Yes, he is a hero due to his POW status and a pilot. However, neither makes him Commander-in-Chief material. McCain's idiotic argument is like saying a male obstetrician is a trained MD, who has delivered 1000's of babies, could become opregnant and have a baby. In fact, some of the greatest military heros turned out to be disastrous as Presidents...look at Grant and Bush. Defense and security have always been the kingpin issues for Rove and Bush. These issues are important but Americans are tired of Bush and the direction he took the nation. McBush is tied to Bush 110% and Americans are tired of the "GOP way of doing political business." McBush is going to age really fast. He is so old and senile as it is.

Sapphire   June 3rd, 2008 4:45 pm ET

I saw this one coming a mile away. Hillary didn't care what her comments would result in, she just HAD to make herself look big and Obama look small. This video is gold to the repubs and thanks to greedy, selfish Hillary, it will be worn out from now to November.
NO VP FOR HILLARY!!!

PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA, SIR
CONGRATULATIONS ON YOU ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND HARD WORK!!! YOUR MOTHER WOULD BE SOOOOOOO PROUD!!!

Boy oh Boy, what a long road to the Whitehouse.

Once Hillary is kicked out of the race... All the HRC supporters like myself will willingly help you make your case.

They screwed Hillary... and though I don't care for you, McCain, I don't like rigging elections for one candidate by my own party even more.

So wait until tomorrow and gain the support of the HRC supporters who were betrayed by their own party.

Actually that line should draw us to you as well.

Valerie - St. Louis, MO   June 3rd, 2008 4:45 pm ET

That is what comes out of her scorched earth campaign. As if it weren't enough that most White Americans were not going to vote for a mixed race man that happens to be mixed with African. This is why I cannot bear the though of Billary being on the ticket with Obama as his running mate.

That's why Obama did not use the kitchen sink strategy on Hillary because he knew it would come back and bite the Democratic party. How can she campaign on Obama's behalf when she used negative techniques. The Republicans will continue to ask her in a debate about this and she might be tired and start lying again. They will also go after Obama if Hillary's on ticket about old politics because that what Hillary represents along with her lobbyists. Obama would not be able to attack McCain on the lobbyists because that all Hillary used. Shame shame shame shame on Hillary. Just say no to Hillary as VP because she will only bring a lot of baggage (Hillary's own admission) and hurt the party.

Ralph V. AZ   June 3rd, 2008 4:44 pm ET

Don't forget that McCain, despite his experience, he almost was kick out of office for ethics violations.

And don't forget Songbird!

According to documentation obtained by the U.S. Veteran Dispatch, not only did POW McCain promise to give the communists "military information" in exchange for special hospital care not ordinarily available to U.S. prisoners, but he also made numerous antiwar radio broadcasts.

Article V of the Code of Conduct is very specific in declaring that U.S. military personnel are required to avoid answering questions to the utmost of their ability and to make no oral or written statements disloyal to the United States and its allies or harmful to their cause. Any violation of this code is considered collaborating with the enemy.

The following is McCain's own admission of collaboration in an article he wrote, printed May 14, 1973 in U.S. News and World Report:

"I think it was on the fourth day [after being shot down] that two guards came in, instead of one. One of them pulled back the blanket to show the other guard my injury. I looked at my knee. It was about the size, shape and color of a football. I remembered that when I was a flying instructor a fellow had ejected from his plane and broken his thigh. He had gone into shock, the blood had pooled in his leg, and he died, which came as quite a surprise to usa man dying of a broken leg.

Then I realized that a very similar thing was happening to me.

"When I saw it, I said to the guard, `O.K., get the officer.'

"An officer came in after a few minutes. It was the man that we came to know very well as `The Bug.' He was a psychotic torturer, one of the worst fiends that we had to deal with. I said, `O.K., I'll give you military information if you will take me to the hospital.'"

NOT SURE WHY SHE WENT OUT LIKE THAT..TALKING ABOUT SOMEONE IN HER OWN PARTY....I CAN SEE HER NOW TRYING TO RETRACT WHAT SHE HAS ALREADY SAID, SHE WOULD NOT LOOK HONEST.

This far too much video footage of Hillary dismissing Obama as naive, inexperienced, and empty rhetoric for her to be his VP. Likewise Obama has called Hillary, dishonest, symbolizes Washington status quo, and influenced by special interests group money.

Even the RNC knows that if Obama and Hillary had kept a relatively clean campaigns, then an Obama-Hillary or Obama-Hillary ticket would be unstoppable.

Obama in 08!

Glad to be an Independent   June 3rd, 2008 4:43 pm ET

I have been against a Obama/Clinton ticket. Obama's message is about change. I definitely am not a fan of the Clintons. It is not about my feelings as a Obama supporter.and it is not the feelings of Clinton supporters. At times, Obama supporters have been arrogrant and demeaning to the intelligence of Clinton supporters. At times, Clinton supporters have been angry and uncompromising. Both sides have their faults. The goal is to bring our troops home from Iraq, come up with a sensible health care plan, come up with an energy policy to reduce our need for foreign oil and come up with a plan to deal with global climate change. I could care less if you are mad or you are arrogant. Stop the failed Bush policies by defeating McCain. I can live with a Obama/Clinton ticket. I do not like it, but how cares if I like it or not. Obama and Clinton supporters do not need to like each other or their respective candidates. Agree to disagree and co-exist to end the failed Bush policies. It really does not matter what the Republicans try this year because it very good chance that McCain will lose.

Obama has one shot at the presidency, and its about to expire come November – The party will not give him another opportunity if he fails in Novmeber.

Superdelegates will already take the heat for the defeat since they are essentially deciding the nomination. The party will not stand to let this happen again in 2012.

errrr   June 3rd, 2008 4:43 pm ET

As a Hillary supporters, I am very glad to see those hateful words towards Hillary here. I also hope that Obama will not pick her as VP. This will further enrage Hillary supporters and cost Obama any remaining chance to win in the fall.

Bye the way, it is Obama and his supporters who divid the party, not us. Because they reject the good will from Hillary and her supporters.

Brad, Denver CO   June 3rd, 2008 4:43 pm ET

This does strike me as funny kind of like how last week The Catholic League denounced Obama's ties to a Catholic Minister. So John McCain is going to solidify his base by using a false endorsement from a candidate that polls over 50% negative in the general public and around 90% with supporters of the GOP. Must also be why he hangs around Bush so much, to get that political boost.

Less, Austin Tx   June 3rd, 2008 4:43 pm ET

The RNC are a bunch of air-heads.

The RNC needs to start a strategic plan on how they are going to explain to the Ameican People why they let Bush, and are ready to let McCain continue to destroy our country and the American people's lives.

Sooner or later, there are going to be a lot of people waiting for the RNC's explainations/excuses.

It would be a big mistake for Obama to offer Clinton the Vice Presidency position. During the 1992 campaign, Bill Clinton had said repeatedly (with his wife nodding behind him) that if elected, the country would get two for the price one. Hillary was co-president from 1993-2001, indeed. She was in charge of the administration's most important policy, health care and later battling the "right wing conspiracy" against her husband. For the other member of the duo, Bill Clinton, Hillary’s Vice Presidency means the opportunity to be co-president again. The husband and wife political team will interfere in presidential politics and policy, making it impossible for Obama to do what he wants as president. Additionally, Hillary will add little strategic depth to campaign. She is not from a battleground state and will bring with her not only her self inflicted and divisive wounds of the primary but also the old Clinton problems: White Water, Bill's insatiable appetite for playing the field, their support for middle of the road band aid solutions for a country facing deep domestic and international problems. If she hopes to have any future in the Senate as a Democrat, it is best for her to only campaign for Obama and, perhaps later, work with Obama as Senate's majority leader. Bill should quietly exit politics.

So I'm guessing she's not getting that VP spot now, is she?

OBAMA IS NOT GOING TO PICK HC AS VP. SHE NEEDS TO RUN AS INDEPENDENT CANDIDATE MOP THE FLOOR WITH THESE TWO CLOWNS. SHE WILL HAVE CREDIBILITY AND OWE NO ONE ANYTHING. WOHOOO GO HILARY 08 NEW PARTY. PARTY OF CHOICE. I THINK OBAMA SHOULD PICK OPRAH ANYWAY, EVERYTHING SHE TOUCH'S LATELY TURNS TO DIRT. THEY CAN GET THERAPY FROM DR. CHEATING PHIL.

Mike   June 3rd, 2008 4:42 pm ET

Every Democrat knew that this was going to happen, which is exactly why many people wanted Senator Clinton to tone down her campaign. Unfortunately, because she was determined to fight on, Senator Clinton may have done some damage to herself.
Unless she (and no one else can do this) can provide an explanation for how this statement can be 'spun' to the betterment of Senator Obama, she may not have any chance at a VP spot.
Regardless of the outcome, I am confident that Senator Obama is a far superior choice to lead this country.

boered1   June 3rd, 2008 4:42 pm ET

Yep just as I suspected

The WORST candidate for President in recent history has finally been eliminated but her lies will continue on long after she departs.

thank you Ms. Clinton for destroying the DNC, for destroying the chance the Democrats had of being President and destroying America by giving it over to the radical right. but hey at least when you run again in 1012 we can ALL tell you where to shove it right!?

While YOU might be open to being Mr. Obama's VP WE ARE NOT OPEN TO THE IDEA AT ALL!!!! Your lies and distortions have helped to undermine a good man because you got your panties all in a wad about not getting crowned like you thought you should have.

It would not be a smart idea for Obama to take Hillary, especially now that the republicans are going to put her comments on loop (as we knew they would). I would seriously question his judgement if he did that.

Hillary as VP would contradict what Obama preaches. He has been portraying her as "old politics", so to take her would mean that either he wasn't honest, or he is willing to take "old politics" to the White House.

enomisa   June 3rd, 2008 4:41 pm ET

Remember to use Michelle as well.

She is the one who couldn't even commit to voting for HRC, were Hillary the nominee for the party.

What better proof do you need to show that the wife of Obama has no loyalty to her party- and hence does not support the democratic platform.

All she EVER supported was Obama- she did not care about the IRAQ war, or Roe vs Wade etc.

So USE her refusal to vote democratic UNLESS the nominee was Obama, as proof that she does not believe what he and HRC preaches.

Juan   June 3rd, 2008 4:41 pm ET

Karen is right on the money. This criticism by Hillary did not work. Voters saw right through it. Therefore, it will not work for the republicans. Ff they claim the Dems are no good, then they (republicans) are worse. I had began to hate Clinton during the course of the campaign. I now realize the future of our children is at stake. She is right: we must do whatever it takes to take the white house, she should be on the ticket if she wants to. I think they can explain those remarks away. We cannot allow another BUSH-Mccain is the white house.

Absolutely – and she's right. This from a Hillary supporter who will move to McCain if she's not running. That Obama is even still running says amazing things about the anti – white racism and elitism that is alive in the democratic party because there is no way that Hillary would have gotten away with saying and doing the things he and his supporters have done and still been in the race. On top of that he's flip-flopped more than a teen's summer footwear on every issue that's out there.

indy dem   June 3rd, 2008 4:37 pm ET

Who didn't see this coming?

Clinton's and McCain's experience are regularly exaggerated. What have they learned from their experience? How does that learning inform their decision making now?

Look at McCain's record. "I'm against the tax cuts for the rich" "No wait- I'm for the tax cuts." "I'm for immigration reform." "By reform I mean a big fence."

Same thing with Hillary although she gets credit for consistently fighting the good fight. She just happened to be one of the SPINELESS democrats who thought she couldn't afford not to give the Prez a blank check for war. Stupid. Or just cowardly.

It won't make that big a deal in a few months.

I remember when Reagan was running against Bush, and the Democrats tried to use Bush's words against Reagan, and it didn't work either.

If Hillary knows what's good for her, she will support Obama and help him win. McCain has several strikes against him – his policies don't match 70% of American voters, he's too old, and he agrees with Bush on too many issues.

You can't blame Hillary for putting this ad out. It is the RNC alone. Of course, her statement is true to say the least. This is only the beginning of what Obama is going to endure, so he better get used to it. Then, the American people who voted for him will see the true person he really is. Not experienced, arrogant, selfish, lies and is deceptive. I could go on and on but everyone knows or is just simply blind to it. What a pity they are. If Clinton had won the nomination, they would use Obama's public criticisms against her. So what is the big deal here? This is nothing new in politics. If she were on the ticket it would actually strengthen Obama by having her out there hitting back against McCain and the GOP ticket.

But as you can see, the whining by the Obama crowd continues. Stop making excuses and fight the Republicans instead.

MD in GA   June 3rd, 2008 4:34 pm ET

To all those Hillary supporters

If the shoe was on the other foot and Hillary was the nominee can any of you point to any statement made by Obama about Hillary that could be used by the GOP in this way? No, because Obama always stayed on the high road. Now do you understand the calls for her to get out even though she was technically not eliminated. They had nothing to do with sexism but rather the fear that she was arming the other side.

You're missing the point of the article. Hillary said Obama is not qualified to be commander in chief, and now that he has the nomination, she says she wants to be his VP. I guess that suddenly he has acquired the skills that she has so diligently been criticizing him on.

The Republicans will throw this in her face every chance they get. This is another example of how she has torn apart the Democratic party by saying anything to get votes.

She has made a real mess and the Republicans are waiting to nail her to the coffin.

It's very funny that the Republican party thinks turning the democrats against each other is an intelligent means of winning the candidancy. Highlighting Hilary's obligatory statements will only shed light to their weakly placed importance on "experience", which if you take a careful look at, McCain displays absolutely no consistency with regards to his decision making historically, which "experience" is supposed to be able to establish.

Ryan   June 3rd, 2008 4:31 pm ET

This is just another example of how badly Clinton behaived this entire primary season. Whining when she got attacked (even when she wasn't), using false math (count all the votes.. except of course 4 caucus states which Obama won along with any of Obama's supporters in MI) and saying anything to win, no matter how it could affect the party. All she has done this campaign is show how she will say and do anything to win at the cost of the party.

Ohio-Dem   June 3rd, 2008 4:31 pm ET

Obama give her a Cabinet position...she is too much of a liability to put her at VP...at this point she has thrown too many knives at you and the Republicans are determined to make her knives stick deep in you!!!

broadstreet buddy   June 3rd, 2008 4:30 pm ET

How far did it get Clinton?? Oh thats right, second place!! Use it all you want republicans. The only thing democrats have to do is say George Bush and the smart citizens of this country (and the millions of people almost going broke and losing jobs thanks to Bush) will no doubt vote Obama.

George Bush had experience and he is the worst prez ever! While on the other, hand a man from Illinois, who only served in the senate for two years and then became one of the greatest Presidents the US ever had. He was Abraham Lincoln. Of course thats only where the comparisons start . . .

Venus   June 3rd, 2008 4:30 pm ET

One of the major reasons not to have Hillary on the ticket! She should be McCain's VP!

No to Hillary!

Obama for president!

OBAMA GIRL   June 3rd, 2008 4:30 pm ET

This is why she should have campaigned a little smarter and thought about her attacks on Obama.

To Rebecca   June 3rd, 2008 4:30 pm ET

If you don't see why, then don't worry about it. But if you are genuinely curious, then start paying attention.

Obama 2008.

Steve in DC   June 3rd, 2008 4:30 pm ET

wow...ghost come back to haunt dont they?

Texas Obamacan   June 3rd, 2008 4:29 pm ET

And she is asking for the VP slot? We knew this was coming.

Vicious attacks against one's own party and endorsements of the opposing Party can come back to bite. And you know the Clintons are savy enough to know it. They WANT McCain to win. I'm praying Obama won't even give her a cabinet position much less have her as a running mate.

Chyrel Wallace-Jackson, Chicago Illinois   June 3rd, 2008 4:29 pm ET

So much for being on BO's Presidential ticket. This woman was venomous and attacked without cause. I hope he sticks to his guns she would totally undermine his campaign of change. Anyone but HRC, Wexler or Sam Nunn perhaps but for the love of God never HRC.

Clinton Supporter   June 3rd, 2008 4:29 pm ET

This is wonderful!

Richard McLaren   June 3rd, 2008 4:29 pm ET

It will get worse if Hillary is up for VP, because the ticket will actaully be a triumvirate of Obama, Hillary and Bill, and anyone who has watched "Rome" on HBO will know how well triumvirates worked out.

Stacy Clarks   June 3rd, 2008 4:29 pm ET

IF THAT IS ALL THEY GOT, I SAY BRING IT ON!!!

MORE AMERICANS ARE NOW FOR OBAMA:

according to Obama's health care plan, McCain can retire nicely in a senior citizen home, I can even help him look

Kaci   June 3rd, 2008 4:29 pm ET

What the Republican party will soon lear,n but alas it will be too late, is that there is a new type of voter. Those kinds of negative ads will appeal to the Republican base because they have nothing else to offer the American people. That new type of voter hates negative, Rove-like campaigning and will reject it at every step. This time, Republicans, you will have to throw away the playbook. Obama is the New American candidate for president. Voters in the primary are but a mere reflection of this country's hunger to throw out the old, flim-flam, double-talk, money buys power kind of goverment we have had the last eight years. A new dawn has come. Deal with it!

Rave   June 3rd, 2008 4:28 pm ET

REPUBLICANS official news network is CNN.
Even if republicans dont say... CNN will try to throw mud on Obama.
OBAMA / AL GORE 2008

Liar, Liar pants on fire   June 3rd, 2008 4:28 pm ET

Rebecca,

Speaking of the truth, there is none coming out of Hillary's mouth. People got caught up in her name, race and gender.....that's just not good enough for me.

Ross in MD   June 3rd, 2008 4:28 pm ET

That's why Hillary should not be on the ticket.

Venus   June 3rd, 2008 4:28 pm ET

John McSame can thank Hillary for this video! This is why many people wanted her out of this race!

But-------------– it won't work!

Obama beat Hillary/Clinton Machine and will be McSame!

Yes we can...
We are fired up and...
Ready to beat McCain!!!

Sandy   June 3rd, 2008 4:28 pm ET

OH BOY! IT'S FUNNY HOW WORDS CAN COME BACK AND BITE YOU IN THE END. SO PEOPLE BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU SAY, IT CAN HURT YOU LATER.

Dixie Chick supports Obama   June 3rd, 2008 4:28 pm ET

I knew it!!!!The Clintons said anything to win now the Rethugs will use it!!! Vote for MCsame as liar BUsh.

Proud American   June 3rd, 2008 4:28 pm ET

McCain you and your ship are already taking more water than the Titanic. We dont want what you are selling. Not anymore!!

Politico   June 3rd, 2008 4:28 pm ET

McCain is running an establishment campaign in an election season of change. It's the same mistake Hillary made early on. We all knew Repubs would jump on Clinton's soundbytes; they're unable to bring anything new to the table. There's nothing they can say that hasn't already been said.

With all the media attention paid to the Democratic primary, Obama is fully vetted. McCain isn't. Should be an interesting ride.

Shirley, Clinton Fatigue, Silicon Valley, CA   June 3rd, 2008 4:28 pm ET

If Obama is FOOLISH enough to choose Clinton as his VP, I will switch my support, including money contribution, to McCain.

Davind King   June 3rd, 2008 4:28 pm ET

I hate Hillary! She is a good Republican, but a horrible Democrat! Selfish in all her ways! A liar and a loser!

She should run for the REPUBLICAN VP position!

JRC   June 3rd, 2008 4:27 pm ET

This is why HRC CAN'T be the VP. She has already done too much damage to Obama, as has her husband, as recent as yesterday. If he takes her on, she will either have to come out and say she is a liar (which she is) or admit she believes he is not ready.

Other reasons she shouldn't be VP –

Bill

She sees it as an "easy" way to the presidency, since she can't get there through the vote. I trust them both as far as I can throw them. He better watch his back.

Bill

People that like Obama like him because he is not like HRC.

Bill

She would think she is in charge, and he somehow needs her advice, which I don't think is true.

Bill

She is not a candidate of change.

Bill

Did I mention she lies....a lot?

Bill.

peakarach,des moines   June 3rd, 2008 4:27 pm ET

If Hussein Obama is the nominee,I truly hope all 18 million strong Hillary supporter will vote for McCain so we can send a strong message to the party leader and the whole media not to mess with Hillary and her supporter ever again.

Go Hillary!

America Speaks   June 3rd, 2008 4:27 pm ET

And now she is open to being the VP (like she is doing him a favor)......Hellllllll Naaawwwwww.....There are plenty of other wise selections to make that he will not have to worry about in the future.

Nel from Chicago   June 3rd, 2008 4:27 pm ET

Geez Hill, thanks a lot

Democrat from NY   June 3rd, 2008 4:27 pm ET

This is why it is does not make any political sense for us to have Hillary Clinton as Obama's running mate. McCain will have a field day repeating what the Clintons have said in criticism of Obama throughout ths campaign. We are going to look like a bunch of contradicting fools with a Obama/Hillary Clinton ticket.

Jean   June 3rd, 2008 4:27 pm ET

CLINTON IS NOT THE PERSON FOR VICE PRESIDET SHE MADE THAT AN IMPOSSIBLE TICKET. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THE NEWS MEDIA KEEP PUSHING THE IDEA DO THEY WANT THE DEMOCRATES TO LOOSE THAT BAD?????????

Dal CA   June 3rd, 2008 4:27 pm ET

Well HRC you will be the one who helped the Republicans defeat the democrats this election in November.

glhf   June 3rd, 2008 4:27 pm ET

by the way, Rebecca, we preferred Barack Obama(11 years) because he had more experience and better judgment than Hillary Clinton.(7 years)

BIFF, BIFFINGTON...   June 3rd, 2008 4:27 pm ET

An RNC official tells CNN to expect to see more of Republicans highlighting Clinton’s critical comments of Obama as the campaign now turns to the general election phase.

“We will use it repeatedly,” the official said.

______________________________________________________

we TOLD you this would happen. WHO DOES THIS TO A CANDIDATE FROM THEIR OWN PARTY....

Thank you hillary. No, please don't expect a call regarding the V.P. slot. You have done quite enough.

Tee   June 3rd, 2008 4:27 pm ET

WE KNEW THIS WOULD HAPPEN, SHE KNEW THIS WOULD HAPPEN. SHE HAS BEEN WORKING FOR THE REPUBS ALL ALONG.

MCCAIN NEEDS TO BE ABOUT MORE THEN WAR

Sue   June 3rd, 2008 4:27 pm ET

The dems should have selected Sen Clinton. She is far and away more experienced and qualified than BO.

Sadie   June 3rd, 2008 4:27 pm ET

Of course they will use it repeatedly. They have to have SOME mud to sling (that's just what the RNC does), and they've already proven that they don't have anything that's actually relevant.

joe   June 3rd, 2008 4:27 pm ET

Hillary "I'll do everything I can to help the Democrats win in November" Clinton sure put her foot in her mouth on that one!

Go Obama!!   June 3rd, 2008 4:27 pm ET

HRC lost so it didn't do much for her-did it.......He is going to beat McCain too....without HRC as his VP. Can't wait unitl November! Then January!!!!!!

Darrel from Denver   June 3rd, 2008 4:27 pm ET

Typical. The Republicans can only denigrate and bully their way around these days. It's the primary reason I am no longer voting for them after 36 years of general elections.

Clowns, all of them.

for realsies   June 3rd, 2008 4:26 pm ET

Thanks, Hillary.

shamous mc   June 3rd, 2008 4:26 pm ET

I denounce and reject the comments made by senator Clinton.

Tammy - KCMO   June 3rd, 2008 4:26 pm ET

This is exactly why she should not get the offer from Obama as VP running mate.

She did everything to politically destroy him and doesn't deserve the opportunity. She and Bill will continue to bash him given the opportunity with the hope that eventually she would get the Presidency by any means necessary.

Obama has been smart throughout this race. I think he will be smart enough to see this and not give her this opportunity no matter how much she pressures him. There are too many other good choices he could make for a runningmate that doesn't include the baggage and problems the Clintons' bring with them.

Amber   June 3rd, 2008 4:26 pm ET

Thats because they're scared to have her on the ticket. The GOP knows if there becomes an Obama/Clinton ticket....McCain is TOAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Millions and millions and millions of people love Obama and Clinton. McCain stands no chance, so...the Repubs are doing the only thing they can to stop the Dream Ticket. They realize it is total defeat!!

Democrats Unite Against 3rd Bush Term   June 3rd, 2008 4:26 pm ET

There goes the "Dream" ticket...
Down the drains...
She really put her foot in her mouth didn't she?

In spite of this, I think the issues win and a joint ticket guarantees enough support to win...

Obama/Clinton 2008

Eric M.   June 3rd, 2008 4:26 pm ET

Now she wants to be Obama's VP. What a pitty!

WOMAN THAT BELIEVES HILLARY IS A PARTY SPOILER!   June 3rd, 2008 4:26 pm ET

I DON'T WANT HILLARY AS VP!!!!!!!

OBAMA DON'TBE NO FOOL! SHE HAS MADE OT HARD FOR OBAMA. BUT HE DOES NOT NEED HER THERE ARE [LENTY OTHER WOMEN HE CAN CHOOSE!

glhf   June 3rd, 2008 4:25 pm ET

and this, ladies and gentlemen, is why we CAN'T have Hillary Clinton as the vice president.

Griff   June 3rd, 2008 4:25 pm ET

You need Hillary, Mr John "Man of the Moment" McCain... Seduce!!!
This little Lady... Do not excuse her... She is more Republican than Most.... Seduce! Do not Reduce.....

Arkansas Undertaker   June 3rd, 2008 4:25 pm ET

I knew those slimmy Republicans would do this. Even so an OBAMA/CLINTON ticket will prevail!!!

DEMOCRATS are better than this. we can always rise to the occasion when thew good of the country is at stake.

OBAMA/CLINTON 08

JT, AZ   June 3rd, 2008 4:25 pm ET

This is precisely why she cannot be offered the V.P. spot.

steveda - poconos   June 3rd, 2008 4:25 pm ET

Yep ... thank you Hillary. In her self-centerred quest for the presidency she was willing to throw the entire party to the dogs. The Republicans will use many of Hillary's comments to attack Obama for the general election.

The sole consolation is that the attacks did not work for Hillary, and since McCain and his republican cohorts seem to have no imagination, they will work even less for them.

Cammi317   June 3rd, 2008 4:25 pm ET

LOL....now she's going to have to defend all of her criticisms on the trail.

Matt - One of the Proud 28% in WV   June 3rd, 2008 4:25 pm ET

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is EXACTLY why a joint ticket will not happen.

Karen   June 3rd, 2008 4:25 pm ET

Sooo what?? Clinton has been defeated for her criticisim. And Republican wants to try them again? What a foul.

NickNas   June 3rd, 2008 4:24 pm ET

And it starts. THIS is the main reason why Hillary cannot be on the Ticket. They are going to use HER and her husbands big mouths to attack Obama. She knew this and it is already comming true.

Shame on you Hillary.

Rebecca   June 3rd, 2008 4:24 pm ET

The truth hurts. I don't see why people think Obama will make a good president. Here we go again with the prez in training. People just got caught up on his "feel good" band wagon, but that is not enough for me.

vw   June 3rd, 2008 4:24 pm ET

Hillary is exactly right on this issue...
John will be the winner in Nov.

USAF Staff Sergeant   June 3rd, 2008 4:23 pm ET

Yeah, we all knew a long time ago Hillary's words would come back to hurt the Dems. Hopefully she can claim she was just pushing him very hard to strengthen him or something.

Although with her on the ticket, she could cover the "experience".

vw   June 3rd, 2008 4:23 pm ET

Hillary is exactly right on this issue...
Jone will be the winner in Nov.

Susan   June 3rd, 2008 4:23 pm ET

And this is why she should not be his VP choice!

carrie,obama baby   June 3rd, 2008 4:23 pm ET

this is ur plan isnt hillary?
shame on you
barrack has won the nomination and he will be the president
shame on you hillary

Marc in DeKalb, IL   June 3rd, 2008 4:22 pm ET

... and here we see yet another reason Clinton is NOT a viable Vice Presidential candidate.
