Schneider: South Dakota Dems want joint ticket

55 percent of South Dakota democrats would like to see Clinton as Obama’s running mate.
55 percent of South Dakota democrats would like to see Clinton as Obama’s running mate.

(CNN) – The hard-fought Democratic primary race is winding down, but the veepstakes are just starting to heat up. Do voters in the year’s final contests think Barack Obama – just a handful of delegates away from claiming the party’s presidential nomination – should pick rival Hillary Clinton as his running mate?

South Dakota’s Democrats seem to like the idea; according to early exit polls, 55 of them think Clinton should be on the ticket this fall, while 41 percent do not.

But the state’s Obama voters give the idea a thumbs-down: 56 percent say Obama should not offer Clinton the vice presidential slot, versus 40 percent that do.

Montana’s Democratic primary voters are more divided: nearly half, 49 percent, think Clinton should join Obama on a joint ticket – but 45 percent do not.

Let's also not forget besides Barack's brilliant judgement, brilliant campaign management skills he is a constitutional scholar, neither of which hillary or mccain can claim. Barack can teach at any university constitutional law and could be a supreme court justice.

Hillary will have to work very hard to convince Barack that she would be a good VP. From what we have seen so far – she is far from being good at ANYTHING.

I hope Mrs. Clinton does not allow her name to be on a ticket with obama.
She is above that raciest devil. If she is pressured in it I will still not vote for obama. He is the devil incarnate. He is the one that has divided, destroyed the parties, that was his goal to start. do not allow him to destroy the constitution.

joint ticket? NO WAY. If you get Hill you also get Bill. Obama needs to be in charge of his own show – we need someone who has NO media baggage. The Clintons do not qualify.

Clinton should NOT be on the ticket. She has spread so much hate in the party, and I think she did so when it seemed that she was going to lose. This way she would have an argument that if she isn't the VP then her followers will make sure Obama doesn't win. Don't let her get away with this...anyone but Hillary.

    P.S.
I'm not a Obama supporter, as most of you probably think!

Obama, is not stupid, neither are we. The only ticket Billary need to be on his their own. Bill and his girls are a lot of package. And if there is anything we don't need is someone else's baggage. Give Obama, his staff and cabinet to get us out of the mess, we are in. And in 8 years after Hillary has divorced Bill, then I think it would be great for her to run again.

I will only vote for Obama who I don't like or trust if Clinton is his runing mate. At least he will have someone with some common sence. I'm nervous even if she is vice president and not sure that he will be voted in as many people agree with me. She is our only hope.
