Although this would virtually guarantee the Democrats the White House, I believe this would be a "marriage" made in hell.

Hillary won't take a back seat to anyone and the vice-president is supposed to take care of the small tasks that the president cannot, or will not, do.

If she can resign herself to the "helper" role in this mixture (keeping their heated discussions behind closed doors), then they will have a good 8 years with Obama and then Hillary would be a shoe-in for 2016.

Let him lose on his own since he has all the media, the rich and the young. Let them get him elected. She's a better candidate than he is and he knows that and knows that he needs her. It's not that I don't want her on the ticket, but more that I DON'T WANT HIM TO BY MY PRESIDENT!! PERIOD! I WILL NOT VOTE FOR HIM NO MATTER WHO IS ON THE TICKET WITH HIM. NEVER!!

I agree the he should consider her, but not be bullied or pressured into it like Davis and a lot of other Clinton surrogates have tried to go about the process.

She refusede to concede, but does she think she has a chance to capture the VP spot by being defiant and arrogant. She forgets that Obama is in the drivers seat, not her.

The way she acted last night, I think she pushed herself out of any position to bargain on the VP spot.

Surely Lanny Davis is kidding! Hillary ,as Seth points out ,has not even ackowledged Obama's victory. She still is in her 'when I'm president' mode. She would not be a good choice for many reasons - one of the main ones being that Bill would be tagging along. Yikes - think of the trouble he could get her into - not to mention himself. The Clinton's are very poor losers. Bill Clinton is an angry man - Lanny looks like another angry man!!

No. Alot of Obama supporters would not like this. You are gonna have most Democrats vote for whomever the Democratic nominee is but there will be some who absolutely will not vote for Obama because he is African American and because Hillary lost. It's sad but it shows in the polls everyday. After all of the attacks that have went on during this primary as well as her taking it to the bitter end when she knew that she basically did not have a chance to secure the nomination. I must admit that she got alot of votes but Obama got just as many {if not more}. He should not be forced to make Hillary and Bill his VP. If people are gonna vote for McCain for this reason and he wins then they deserve everything they get over the next four years. The majority of Americans poured out and voted for Bush in 2000 & 2004 and look what happened. It's tme for a change in the White House and not just a change of faces but also a change of policies and the Democratic nominee offers the best chance we have for change. Before I go I want to ask this question. Would Hillary have made Obama her V.P. if she had won the nomination?

This is like a sports team losing a game and refusing to leave the court or field until they get the result that they want. If Hillary is that interested in being VP, she should have drop out of the race aftewr Super Tuesday. I agree with Mark, Hillary or any other Clinton is NOT owed anything by the american people. Everyone must realize that it will take decades to erase the failures of the Bush admistration.

i could live with HILL as VP...if thats what Obama wanted to do... but her inhuman ,racist vile " HILLARY or MCCAIN" supporters really make it hard to pull for her at this point. But i also know not all HILL supporters are raving lunatics.

but i pride myself on keeping an open mind... only a fool closes his mind to the possibilities.

No. She is not presidential material. She is not vice-presidential material. I hope that the state of New York determines that she is not even senatorial material. I hope Sen. Obama selects a candidate that shares his sense of moral dignity...someone like John Edwards...

The Audacity of Dopes, yes?

For MONTHS...she's trashed him as unelectable, elitist, inexperienced, and not representative of America...

And now you expect him to kowtow to sour grapes supporters? There's no place for this kind of politics anymore, don't you understand???

You lost. And until you RECOGNIZE that fact, there's no discussion about you being the congressional JANITOR...let alone a VP candidate.

Where's the respect for the new leader of the Democratic Party????

This is ridiculous! it seems Clinton surrogates are trying to force her on the VP ticket now. The choice is Obama's and he should Not choose Clinton as a running mate. The match looks good on paper, but I don't think it can work. Her personality is too overpowering... she does not come off as a "team player".

No VP spot for her until she learns how to be a team player!

Lanny, you look awful tired of lying and being a wuss so much.

Anyway, Obama will make his choice, just as he has up to this point. His judgment has defeated the most powerful political dynasty this country has ever seen. That is his choice to make, not anybody elses.

You look like you need about 1 or 10 drinks so quit whining about VP choices and drink your sorrows away.

I heard a good idea today - instead of being in Obama's shadow, why not head up HHS - Health Care and all the other stuff she so strongly believes in. A really good position and a very worthy cause, with accolades for accomplishments.

Seems strange that Hillary didn't have the grace to congradulate Barack's on his win. I wonder, since Hillary refuses to back out of the race, IF something were to happen to Obama and he wasn't able to complete his bid for President, would Hillary automatically become the Presidentual candidate or would there be another Election? We already know what happens if the President is unable to continue his term the Vice Pres. takes over but what if the party's pick after the Primary stage can't continue? It's never happened in the History of USA but we are having a lot of "First time ever" in American history in the last 10 years or so from the First time in history American was atacked on Her soil with the 911 to the First Black Presidentual canditate in election history. Never thought about it before but what if McCain wasn't able to continue? How would the Rep. Party fill his slot? What if any safe guards are built in? If American has learnt anything from the last 10 years it should be that we should prepare for the worst and pray for the best always.

After her speech where she still says she got more votes and would be the better canadiate, just dismissing his selection as the selection of the people, he has the most delegates, isn't that how we select a canadiate? If he selected her now he will appear weak and it would show he can't handle pressure, if he can't handle it from his own party how could he deal with a world leader from another superpower. He should be nice to her and not cave in to her demands.

Given the skeletons Hillary has in her closet she would probably be more of a liability than a help.

Also, Obama would have to hire a food taster.

Shame on you Lenny, you constantly say that you have unanswered questions regarding Sen. Obama, why oh why are you trying to stomp out this man's victory. Who gives you the authority to decide who should be the VP. Let's celebrate the moment and get behind Sen. Obama and allow him to make his decision when the time is right.

Obama should not talk to the Clintons about VP or anything else until she withdraw from the race. At this point, she will still be campaigning after he is sworn in as president.

When she repeated the ignorant statement by one of her supporter which said, "It's not over until the lady in the pantsuit say it's over," that went to her head. She loves the sound of her name being called much more than she loves the party.

Lanny, give it up. Your candidate lost because she/her staff did not run a good campaign as where Senator O'Bama did. The American people have spoken and now it's time for you/Senator Clinton to move on. We do not want Senator Clinton as our President, nor do we want her husband in the Whitehouse. The Clinton era is over, so just move on. Senator O'Bama beat the so-called "Clinton machine" and you're just upset/jealous that he did.

Senator O'Bama can/will win without Senator Clinton on the ticket. Please, do you honestly feel that the American people are going to elect a Republican after all President Bush, VP Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld have done to this country?

It's a good day in America today!!!

Please, Senator Obama, do NOT choose Hillary to be your VP. That would be a disaster. She is divisive, egotistical, calculating, and self-serving. The only cause that she consistently adheres to is her own pursuit of power. You would be hurting your chances to be elected if you chose her. I would never vote for any ticket that had Hillary on it.

Lanny Davis has consistently been ONLY interested in getting Hillary Clinton into office - regardless of who is hurt in the process, regardless if it damages his party's chances of winning the White House, or regardless of the consequences of a potential third Bush term.

Lanny is no friend of the Democratic Party or, frankly, the American people.

Okay. Let's talk about REAL party unity. To have Senator Clinton on the ticket would be a way to garner an additional 18 MILLION votes. This isn't rocket science people. The numbers would be helpful. It is sad to see that many do not view Senator Clinton as a change agent. Even Senator Obama has said as much. Here is where REAL humility must come into play. If we all want what's best for the party, then we, as supporters of either candidate must give a little to get 4 years of Democratic rule in return. Senator Clinton earned her right to be celebratory last night. She congratulated Senator Obama and almost guaranteed that in the next few days she'll offer her support. We are ALL human and deserve better than resorting to the sheer anger that often appears on these posts. Are we all ready to be humble and really offer party unity. It starts with each of us as individuals...regardless of which candidate you favor. If any of us answers "no" to this need for coming together...then sadly we do not deserve real change.

Lanny, please please let it go! Hillary has all the talents in the world to be a great president, but, she has a "Bill" problem. Worrying about bimbo eruptions, library donor problems, his business dealing problems, and his lack of personal control would make it difficult for Obama and Hillary to run a "change" campaign. I can see the right wing hate duo of Limbaugh and Hannity licking their chops over a Clinton on the ticket. She is a great senator and a top tier leader in our party and will be able to help shape the change that we need much more effectively as a Senator.

I no longer have any respect for Hill & Bill. They are so determined to detroy the Democratic Party and if this happens I will not longer be a part of the political process. Obama has so much more to lose with Hillary on the ticket. She is not a team player.

Unless Hillary plans to extend the exceptional Cheney model, the vice-presidency isn't worth a bucket of warm spit.

Obama ought to offer her the position of Secretary of Health and Human Services, and let her become the "Health Care Tsarina."

By the way, I hate the tsar (or czar) moniker, because we forget how brutal those SOB's were. Why don't we call the position Drug Fuhrer, for instance?

AS Hillary has stated no one should be forced to leave the race, surperdelegates should be able to chose whom they see fit. So the winning nominated candidate should be able to chose whom they see fit.

Maybe a Supreme Court Justice, but not VP. I hate to rain on her parade, for all that she has done, and she has done quite a few noble things, but Senator Clinton is not trustworthy, she has her own objectives, and as she demonstrated so aptly last night, if she doesn't get what she wants, nobody should. Don't be fooled women of America. She is for self and self , only. Remember, the last time, the Clinton's were Black, and it worked!

So, Hillary runs a really negative campaign against Obama, and then wants to force him to take her as his VP? This woman is so power hungry it is ridiculous. Obama should have the right to choose whoever he wants and not be railroaded into picking Hillary just because she has some political clout. All the people pushing Hillary as VP need to back off and let Obama pick for himself. If I were him I wouldn't trust her for a second. She is a sore loser and should have bowed out long ago, but by staying in and making it really divisive, I think she was planning this for awhile. She knew she couldn't win, but she knew if she refused to bow out and tried to make things divisive her supporters would try to strong arm Obama in the end. I have said before she is a very calculating person, and knows how to play the political game dangerously well.

This is Obama's decision, not Hillary's. When will she learn that she is no longer in control?
