White House congratulates Obama on victory

WASHINGTON (CNN) - The White House has congratulated Sen. Barack Obama on clinching the Democratic nomination for president, spokeswoman Dana Perino said Wednesday.

His victory - which sets him up to become the first African-American to lead a major party ticket in the race for the White House - shows how far America has come, Perino said.

She said President Bush, a Republican, did not plan to call Obama to congratulate him personally.

Hmm.. So the white house is willing to congratulate Obama on his victory, but Clinton isn't? Odd.. I thought she was supposed to be fighting for her party by this time.

wow bush shows more respect and honor than hillary who'd a thunk it?

I will, in the interest of party unity, stop adding my final statement to all post no more moronic clintonistas as a sign off line. I will no longer point out the blatant lies and utter stupidity of the clintonistas by saying moronic clintonistas. I support the party and encourage all the moronic clintonistas to join with the winning side (even though I suspect that the moronic clintonistas are not going to)

Bush not calling Obama to congratulate him tells everyone exactly what type of person he is and how both of these parties operate, putting themselves before the people. You bet your a- this country is in need of change.

President Bush should of called him, just as a sign of respect from one person to another. Just goes to show the lack of judgement that Bush has.

You have the voice of the people Hillary!

Obama has won by buying Delegates, not by connecting or receiving votes from "We the People"!

He needs you more then you need him!

Please don't tuck our voices under Obama!

Take it to the floor and all the way to the White House-you have more support from individual voters then either candidate in the Race!

    Hillary 08
